C1502 An Explanation
The moment Yu Yuan emerged back to the surface, he abruptly cast his gaze skyward, his face betraying a hint of surprise. High above, clusters of clouds hung in the air, their presence thinning the miasma cloud and smoke that enshrouded the forbidden area with a mysterious force. Beneath these "clouds," every person and object in the Rainbow Ocean seemed to have no place to hide, including the Shadowflame Blight Array he had previously set up.
The evil spirits and alien souls that had once roamed freely were now subdued, not daring to make a sound. Each one was meek and well-behaved, with their tails firmly tucked. The goasts were in a state of constant anxiety, unable to comprehend why these supreme beings had suddenly taken such an interest in the Rainbow Ocean.
"Heh!" Tan Junshan couldn't help but smirk as he waved at the "clouds" above, as if saying hello. "Folks, no need to keep watching! I've got some news to share. First off, the Voidweaver, Rovi, who's been missing for years, is indeed dead, deep within the Everlands."
"I'm certain of it; Rovi's demise was absolute, with no chance of resurrection!" he continued confidently. "And you're probably aware that the new God of Ghosts from the Land of Terror is none other than Youyu of the Bloodbrawlers. He's fully awakened and was instrumental in Rovi's downfall."
"As for Zhong Chichen, the current leader of the Order of Healing, he's the Chronowyrm that once gave everyone such a headache in ancient times. But after Rovi's death, he seized the chance to slip away from the Everlands. If you're looking to deal with him, you might as well try your luck in the extraterrestrial Star River."
"And one more thing..." Tan Junshan continued, unfazed by the audience around him.
"Would you just shut up?" The lecherous dragon, now in human form, glared at him with a menacing glint in his eyes.
But Tan Junshan seemed oblivious to the dragon's ire. He kept addressing the "clouds" above, "Worried about Yu Yuan? He's alive and kicking. The well is intact too, not a crack in sight. Rest easy, everything is on track."
With that, the clusters of "clouds" in the sky, stirred by his words and explanations, began to dissipate rapidly.
After the miasma clouds that had been weighing down on all the alien souls and hearts in the Rainbow Ocean vanished, it felt as though a massive weight had been lifted.
"Alright, they're all gone."
Tan Junshan dusted off his hands and turned to Loong Jie with a huff, "Do you really think they'll drop the issue just because you kept quiet about what's happening underground? You're constantly being watched. Does that make you feel at ease?"
"Why must you speak of my clan's ancestral matters?" Loong Jie demanded, his face seething with anger.
Tan Junshan simply retorted, "Can you really keep it hidden?"
The old dragon fell silent.
The fact that Zhong Chichen was the Chronowyrm was known to the Terra Fiends of the Defiled World, as well as to Youyu and Yuan Qingxi, not to mention Chen Liangquan and the headless knight...
Moreover, Zhong Chichen hadn't emerged from underground, nor had he joined them.
As Tan Junshan had pointed out, the secret couldn't be kept. Youyu, Yuan Qingxi, and the Terra Fiends wouldn't keep the Nagas' secret.
"What are you so worried about? That the highest powers will stop at nothing to chase him down beyond our world?" Yu Yuan interjected with a grin.
Loong Jie nodded.
"For now, they likely don't have the resources to spare," Yu Yuan said with a smile. "Besides, my esteemed senior brother isn't so easy to kill. He's survived before, and now, he's even tougher to take down."
"Let's go and settle this."
Yu Yuan shot off like a streak of lightning.
Moments later, he effortlessly breached the Shadowflame Blight Array and re-entered the swamp.
"Yu Yuan!"
Liu Ying from the Starmoon Sect leaped to her feet with excitement upon his arrival.
"I thought I'd have to search for you beyond the stars, but here you are, returning on your own! Ha, take a look at me—I've condensed a Solar Spirit too. I'm now at the same level as you!"
She brandished her tiny, radiant fist, her sparkling eyes swirling with countless starshards.
Within her elegant form, the pure brilliance of starlight continuously converged towards her lower elixir field.
In the Golden Sanctum's little world, a radiant Solar Spirit sat in tranquility, harvesting and refining the starlight.
Liu Ying, ever more enchanting, radiated with vitality and the freshness of youth. Her long hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, her legs long and waist slender, her beauty unparalleled.
"Amazing. You've truly become much more powerful."
Yu Yuan praised with a smile.
Memories of the times he shared with Liu Ying flooded his mind.
Approaching Liu Ying, he noticed Canli of the Dawnbringers watching them. He returned her gaze with a subtle smile and a nod.
Canli gave a slight bow, a gesture of respect from the Everlands, before turning to Chen Liangquan with a question, "What's happened?"
The Fallen Star Eyes were no longer able to probe the depths below. She and Liu Ying were unaware of the events transpiring in the Defiled World beneath them.
The supreme beings of the Everlands had all turned their attention here, drawn by the unknown.
Unbeknownst to her, Youyu had completely obscured the underground, prompting a heightened alert among the supreme beings, concerned that something might have gone awry with the Dragon Slaying Stage under Yu Yuan's supervision.
"Indeed, something monumental has occurred, an event of such magnitude that it will be etched into history."
Chen Liangquan spoke with composure, yet each word he uttered sent a shiver through the crowd. "Rovi, the leader of the Voidweaver Race, has fused with a Terra Fiend progenitor in the Defiled World below. Rovi has been slain by the master of the Land of Terror, alongside Zhong Chichen and Yu Yuan."
"Rovi!"
Canli's face paled, the gravity of the situation not lost on her as the saintess of the Dawnbringers.
"Is this information reliable?" she asked, her voice quivering.
Chen Liangquan nodded affirmatively. "There's no mistake. Rovi is beyond resurrection."
"I must return to the Dawnbringers at once!"
Compelled by the startling news, Canli made up her mind swiftly.
She exchanged a knowing glance with Chen Liangquan, offered an apologetic word to Yu Yuan, and then turned to Liu Ying. "Should you travel beyond our world, you must visit the Astral Domain of the Dawnbringers. I will welcome you warmly. We've formed a strong bond, and upon my return, I'll be sure to speak of you to my people."
"Okay," Liu Ying said with a smile.
She had never visited the extraterrestrial Star River, and Rovi's name was only vaguely familiar to her, having heard it mentioned a few times.
She was unsure of the significance of Rovi's death for the intelligent life within the extraterrestrial Star River.
"We will meet again."
With those words, Canli was the first to depart.
Chen Liangquan, concerned for her safety in the vast Everlands, felt compelled to clarify the situation. After bidding farewell to Yu Yuan and Tan Junshan, he too left with Canli.
"Mr. Zhong, has he awakened? Has he returned to his former self, or has he become a Terra Fiend?"
Du Yazi, along with Zhong Chichen's loyal followers Tong Rui and Ye Hen, were utterly perplexed by Chen Liangquan's remarks.
"Yu Yuan, what's happened to your senior brother?" inquired Feng Zhong.
"My senior brother... he hasn't turned into a Terra Fiend, but rather..."
Realizing that some truths couldn't be concealed, Yu Yuan openly shared their underground experiences with the group, who had been anxiously waiting for news.
"Mr. Zhong, is he... the Chronowyrm from ancient times?"
"The White Bone who has attained the Divine Level of the God of Ghosts is actually a remnant of the Bloodbrawlers? What's his name, Youyu?"
"Was the incident below really that thrilling?"
"..."
The group gathered outside the hut listened in astonishment, their conversation quickly turning to excited speculation.
Loong Jie observed Du Yazi, Tong Rui, and Ye Hen from the sidelines.
Initially, the old dragon had found these individuals quite disagreeable.
Now, however, his gaze had softened considerably.
These individuals had faithfully served his ancient ancestor for many years, demonstrating unwavering dedication. They had even gone so far as to desperately intervene and plead with Feng Zhong when he was about to execute them.
In the old dragon's heart, Du Yazi, Tong Rui, and Ye Hen were his ancestor's Dragon Attendants.
"Yu Yuan, I'm afraid I must return to the Chamber of Commerce Headquarters immediately!" Feng Zhong announced, taking a deep breath as his face took on a grave expression, clearly shaken by the revelations.
"Could you relay a message to Boulderdawn for me? Tell them to take Youyu's request very seriously," Yu Yuan requested earnestly. After a moment's thought, he added, "And please inform Taishi God-King that I am fully supportive of Youyu's request!"
Since Taishi was aware of his original identity, he would naturally proceed with caution.
"Alright!" Feng Zhong readily agreed.
Yu Yuan glanced at Tong Rui, furrowing his brow, and said, “Youyu isn't a remnant of the Bloodbrawlers. Remember, before the three great upper sects and the Devil Palace came to prominence, the Bloodbrawlers were as renowned as the Boulderdawn in this realm. In ancient times, the Bloodbrawlers were also a beacon of hope for humanity!”
