C156 Soul Transformation Pool

In the stillness of the night sky, Qin Yun, clad in the garb of a scholar, stood motionless.

His gaze fixed on Yu Yuan, his spiritual awareness unfurled, attuned to the faintest undulations of spiritual energy surrounding both Lim Zhuyun and Yu Yuan.

"Such resilience and strength in his physique are exceedingly rare in this world."

A mere look was enough for him to discern that Yu Yuan, having practiced the Evil Body Refining Skill, possessed a fortitude surpassing any peer within the same realm.

Qin Yun had encountered numerous prodigies across the Silvermoon Empire, the Rainier Empire, and beyond.

Yet, at the Spirit Accumulating Stage, none displayed the formidable physical prowess that Yu Yuan did.

Previously, Qin Yun hadn't paid much attention to Yu Yuan, his concerns centered on Yu Yuan's ability to commune with the sword soul and provoke the Forbidden Area's sanctions.

Now, aware that the Heaven Sealing Soul Transformation Formation no longer existed, he knew Yu Yuan could no longer wield the sword soul to unleash divine retribution upon others within the Forbidden Area.

"This young man is extraordinary."

Qin Yun silently mused, quietly abandoning a nascent idea that had surfaced in his mind.

He had contemplated a daring attempt to extinguish Yu Yuan's three souls in a single moment.

Success would mean the mark on the Azure Yang Arrow would vanish with the extinguishing of Yu Yuan's three souls.

But failure, should Yu Yuan retain even a sliver of awareness and activate the mark, would result in Qin Yun suffering grievous harm upon the detonation of the four Azure Yang Arrows.

The formidable nature of Yu Yuan's body instilled a sense of wariness in him.

Upon reflection, he realized there was no deep-seated enmity between them, and Yu Yuan, recognized by the sword soul of the Forbidden Area, undoubtedly had his own exceptional qualities.

Perhaps, with the dissolution of the Heaven Sealing Soul Transformation Formation, a new manner of coexistence was possible?

With a soft exhale, "Hu!"

Qin Yun's silhouette darted through the night sky.

In the blink of an eye, he materialized amidst the aerial clash between Yu Yuan and Lim Zhuyun.

He offered Lim Zhuyun a slight smile.

She was fiercely battling the onslaught of the evil spirit, striving to keep her mind from being overwhelmed by the relentless malice, ferocity, and madness that seemed to strike her like a formidable blow.

Boom!

Lim Zhuyun felt as if a troll had plummeted from the heavens and stomped directly into the depths of her mind.

The force of countless soul-rending fissures seemed to flood her spirit, threatening to obliterate her three souls in the very next instant.

The disparity between their realms was vast. Confronted with the soul-destroying strike from a Peak Yin God Stage adversary, she was overwhelmed by a suffocating pressure, utterly devoid of any capacity to resist.

"Hold on," Yu Yuan said with a light chuckle.

The fearsome power that sought to annihilate her three souls vanished as swiftly as it had appeared.

Before Lim Zhuyun could regain her senses, a torrent of malevolent thoughts—laced with bitterness, chaos, and madness—breached her defenses and surged in.

She was immediately engulfed.

The cool clarity in her eyes was usurped by a murky blend of resentment, brutality, and insanity.

Rooted to the spot, she shivered as the wickedness lurking within her consciousness began to gnaw away at her, bit by bit.

"Your fiancée is on the brink of a breakdown. She's on the verge of becoming a demon," Qin Yun of the Seven Divine Sect remarked with a furrowed brow. "What in the world happened to her? I was under the impression that she was taken under the wing of the Cold Yin Sect after ascending to the Profound Break Stage, with the Great Elder himself guiding her to the Heavenly Source Continent."

He and Zhao Jian had ventured into the Fallen Moon Forbidden Area with the initial intent of eliminating the so-called New Moon.

The prominence of the Silvermoon Empire's five new moons had even the Scorching Sun Emperor concerned.

That's why he was well-acquainted with Lim Zhuyun's affairs.

Now, he noticed that her Dao heart was tainted with negativity. Following Yu Yuan's interjection, her defenses had been easily infiltrated by a slew of sinister thoughts.

This indicated that her Dao heart was already fractured; otherwise, she wouldn't be in such a state.

"Her spiritual journey has hit a significant snag," Yu Yuan commented, his tone icy. "If she can't vanquish her inner demons and survive this ordeal, she'll never escape this forbidden land. Sect Master Qin, we should pay her no mind. The Great Dao shows no mercy. You reap what you sow, and she has brought much of this upon herself."

Yu Yuan harbored not a shred of sympathy for his betrothed, his disdain for her growing ever stronger.

The Heaven Sealing Soul Transformation Formation has been dismantled. He was unsure if the Silvermoon Empire had any powerful experts capable of observing this realm, so he refrained from taking Lim Zhuyun's life.

Besides, in his view, Lim Zhuyun was no longer a threat.

She didn't qualify as his adversary.

"Your sister is safe," Qin Yun assured, maintaining a cautious distance to avoid any misinterpretation. "The White Ghost didn't harm her. The diamond-shaped mark on her forehead has successfully integrated with her Niwan. I'm convinced that the mark will prove beneficial, enhancing the strength of her three souls."

After a brief pause, Qin Yun pressed on, "What exactly happened?"

"Did you catch sight of that bronze coffin?" Yu Yuan inquired.

Qin Yun nodded. "The spectacle of the bronze coffin ascending was incredibly dramatic. It was so conspicuous that I believe any Alien Soul Evil Spirit in this area could have witnessed it."

"What exactly is that bronze coffin?"

With a grave tone, Qin Yun asked, "What connection does the White Ghost have with that coffin?"

Yu Yuan took a moment to reflect before revealing the truth. "The bronze monument we saw is actually the lid of that coffin, and beneath it lies what the White Ghost refers to as the greatest demon of this forbidden land," he explained. "That individual is a sinner from the Divine Soul Sect, seemingly pivotal to the sect's downfall."

Qin Yun was taken aback. "Has he been awakened?"

"It appears so," Yu Yuan replied with a wry smile. "The Sky Shocking Emperor, the Green Incubus, and the White Ghost, along with the Splitting Soul Staff seized by the White Ghost, have all departed the Boundless Land with the bronze coffin, hurtling into the extraterrestrial void."

Qin Yun was left speechless by Yu Yuan's revelation.

"Now, I question everything—the veracity of any information provided by the White Ghost, even the existence of the Soul Transformation Pool," Yu Yuan continued without pause. "That's why I need to see it for myself."

Qin Yun remained deeply shaken.

"Sect Master Qin, I'm no longer able to wield the sword soul to trigger the restrictions," Yu Yuan said with a wry smile. "Nevertheless, I hope you can lend me your support and join me on this journey."

"Agreed!"

After a moment's pause, Qin Yun gave a firm nod.

Both he and Yu Yuan shared an unspoken agreement to pay no further attention to the dispirited Lim Zhuyun.

Yu Yuan took the lead, with the Sect Master of the Seven Divine Sect maintaining a careful distance, concealing his spiritual awareness to avoid arousing suspicion.

Half a day passed.

They came upon an oval, sunken pond etched into the earth.

The pond was vast, yet shallow, with countless fist or finger-sized holes peppering its bottom, seemingly burrowing into the earth's deepest reaches.

The rocky walls of the pond were crisscrossed with numerous sword marks.

The chaotic interlacing of the sword marks was dense and disorderly, their purpose a mystery.

"This is the so-called Soul Transformation Pool?"

Qin Yun glanced down, then spoke with a look of disbelief, "It seems Lord White Ghost has deceived us once more. This rudimentary pond lacks any hint of soul activity or distinctive marks of a soul array. It couldn't possibly be the hub of a formation."

Yu Yuan surveyed the area, finding no signs of anything extraordinary. He nodded in agreement, "It appears the White Ghost was talking nonsense."

"So, what's our next move?" Qin Yun hesitated, "The Alien Soul Evil Spirits from the Silvermoon Empire might have already infiltrated. I suggest you come with me to the Rainier Empire. I still wield some influence there, and I can ensure your safe return to Darkmoon City."

He paused briefly before adding, "That is, if you're willing."

"What are you implying?" Yu Yuan inquired, puzzled.

"Settling in Darkmoon City might not be the best option for you. If it suits you, the Seven Divine Sect would gladly welcome you." Qin Yun's tone was earnest and sincere as he continued, "I will dedicate myself to your development. I'm confident that you'll have a bright future with us."

Yu Yuan was momentarily taken aback, about to respond, when he suddenly felt the sword energy within his arm begin to warm once more.
