C1568 You Are Very Important!
In the depths of extraterrestrial space, both the sky and the earth were sealed by an unnamed star. The Kylin, master of the storm's power, plummeted into a vast crater, its scales shattering upon impact.
He gasped for breath, yet his demon soul lay silent and lifeless, akin to a tree long dead, devoid of vitality. Nonetheless, his heart thundered on, strong and deafening. Though the demon soul had perished, for a Dark Deity like him, a beating heart meant he was still very much alive.
The immense Rebirth Nest had transformed into a bizarre vine-like creature, entwining the Kylin's colossal body, larger than mountains themselves. Sharp branches wove through the Kylin's scales, embedding themselves into his flesh.
These branches, the very sinews of the Rebirth Nest, acted as eerie vessels, draining the Kylin's flesh of its substance. Gradually, the Kylin of mountainous stature began to dwindle in size.
Hovering in the air, Chen Qinghuang, in her human form, watched in silence. Her gaze, indifferent to the plight of all beings, rested upon the Kylin at death's door, her lips sealed shut.
Her Rebirth Nest was already leeching chunks of flesh from the Kylin, stripping away its robust essence. The potent energy housed within the Kylin's flesh, bones, and organs would soon be integrated into the Rebirth Nest, purified within its confines. Only then would she assimilate it, fortifying her own being.
The ground where the Kylin had fallen cracked further, revealing the dark green blood of the demon seeping into the fissures below. A closer inspection would reveal a bronze coffin nestled within the crevice. The Kylin's blood was drawn into the coffin, disappearing as soon as it touched the lid.
"Hierarch, I ask that you keep this matter confidential. Furthermore..."
Taishi's voice emanated from the depths, from within the bronze coffin, his tone unhurried, "You're out of danger now. The young girl is safe as well. You're free to travel to Ionodios or wherever else you please. But first, we have matters to discuss."
The earth beneath Ann Wen's feet suddenly gave way to a gaping chasm, a portal to the starry expanse beyond. Having borne witness to the Kylin's demise, Ann Wen was still conversing with Yu Yuan, eager to see the Kylin's final breath. Yet, upon hearing Taishi's words, he involuntarily cast a glance at Yu Yuan.
Taishi intended to send people away, yet he refrained from dismissing Yu Yuan. He was curious to see if Yu Yuan might offer some words of praise.
Yu Yuan was the only one he could count on...
As Yu Yuan began to speak, Taishi's soothing voice interrupted, "I apologize, but the following conversation isn't suitable for his ears."
Ann Wen gave a wry smile, not wanting to put Yu Yuan in a difficult position. He expressed his gratitude to Taishi before descending into the newly-formed pit.
Once he departed, Yu Yuan ascended, positioning himself alongside Chen Qinghuang, who was clad in a dragon robe and donning an imperial crown.
He did not catch a glimpse of Chen Qinghuang's face behind the beaded curtain.
Typically, Chen Qinghuang preferred not to reveal her face in the presence of others.
"Let's keep silent about the entity within the Dragon Slaying Stage for the time being, Taishi included. It's best if as few people as possible are aware of it."
Her icy voice resonated within Yu Yuan's heart.
Yet, her eyes remained fixed on the ground, even as she spoke, "As per our agreement, the Kylin's blood will go to Taishi. Its flesh and bones will integrate with the Rebirth Nest. And the Kylin Heart, that will ultimately be yours to refine into your Solar Spirit."
Yu Yuan was taken aback.
Taishi was just below, and she was covertly communicating with him, instructing him not to disclose anything about the Titan Spinosaurus within the Dragon Slaying Stage.
It was clear that her true trust lay only with him.
She was even reluctant to trust Taishi, the God-King, unwilling to share too much with him.
Yu Yuan glanced at the corner of the bronze coffin that was exposed, wondering whether Taishi was aware of the Titan Spinosaurus inside the Dragon Slaying Stage.
Furthermore, if Taishi was aware, to what extent had the Titan Spinosaurus evolved?
The Kylin Heart!
His eyebrows lifted as he pondered the matter, his gaze once again settling on Chen Qinghuang.
The hearts of the Dark Deity and the peak Otherkin warriors from the extraterrestrial realms were the wellsprings of their power, the most treasured of possessions. And yet, she and Taishi had already settled their plans regarding it.
"You are of great importance."
The Empress's voice was calm, a subtle curve forming at the corner of her mouth beneath the beaded curtain.
Yu Yuan coughed, and in that moment, he sensed the presence of another young Titan Spinosaurus within the depths of the bronze coffin.
The violet-gold dragon egg, nurtured by the blood of the Demon God Grec, now showed signs of activity within the colossal coffin that nearly filled the entire subterranean space of the star.
It was feasting on the Kylin's blood.
Yu Yuan, a unique Solar Spirit, could not only sense the creature but also gauge its growth rate, which was significantly slower than the one on the Dragon Slaying Stage.
He pondered deeply, realizing that the faster growth of the young beast he had incubated was due to multiple factors.
Firstly, his life source was intact. Secondly, this young beast resided within the Dragon Slaying Stage.
Within the Dragon Slaying Stage lay the remains of three Dragon Gods, the dragon blood that it desperately craved to facilitate its rapid transformation, and numerous bloodline chains with which it could resonate.
Consequently, its evolutionary pace was much swifter than the one hatched by Taishi.
Reflecting on Chen Qinghuang's telepathic message, Yu Yuan was cautioned to remain silent about the contents of the Dragon Slaying Stage.
It was possible that the Titan Spinosaurus he had incubated, once it broke free from the Dragon Slaying Stage, might target the one Taishi had hatched.
What would unfold if two Titan Spinosauruses coexisted, one strong and the other weak?
Contemplating this, Yu Yuan felt he understood the potential outcome.
Whoosh!
After Ann Wen vanished and the underground cavern sealed shut, a man with long, jet-black hair loosely cascading over his shoulders and a strikingly upright stature appeared silently.
His bare upper body was adorned with innumerable glyphs and mystical symbols, echoing the inscriptions on the bronze coffin, as if they concealed the profound mysteries of the cosmic order.
A series of strange, thunderous noises emanated from within him, as if the Way of Heaven itself was in tumult.
His handsome features exuded an air of supreme composure, as though he had penetrated the enigmas of the universe and regarded even life and death with indifference.
"The Kylin Heart will be integrated with your Solar Spirit to propel you toward the Unbound realm," he said, his face alight with pleasure as he gazed at Yu Yuan, who stood alongside Chen Qinghuang. "But let's not rush. We'll reserve the Kylin Heart for the final step. We need more patience, to wait just a bit longer. Until..."
As if struck by a particularly amusing thought, he let out a soft chuckle before speaking, "Once the Dark Phoenix has made her decision, after Yuwen Hao has perished, and Ji Tianyu has shattered her divine seat."
"The Kylin's heart must remain intact for the God Throne to stay whole, correct?" Yu Yuan inquired.
"Exactly. If the Demon Heart remains unbroken, the God Throne will not fracture, and the Kylin will not be truly dead."
Taishi nodded, perching himself on the edge of the exposed bronze coffin, and gazed up at him. "The Kylin likely sent out a message. You and I have sealed both heaven and earth, yet I'm uncertain if the Dark Phoenix has detected it from across the Star River."
"I suspect..." He squinted, deep in thought for a moment, "that the Dark Phoenix might have a sense of it. She might realize that the Kylin is on the brink of death but is unable to arrive in time. Meanwhile, Han Miaoyuan, Lin Daoke, Tan Xiaotian, and Yuwen Hao are unaware that the Kylin's end is near."
"She could choose to hold back, to refrain from utterly destroying Yuwen Hao. Yet, given her consistent nature, having already struck, she would likely proceed to eliminate Yuwen Hao, even knowing the Kylin's demise is imminent. Yuwen Hao has become a nuisance."
"Unable to prevent the Kylin's death, she would feign ignorance, allowing both Yuwen Hao's demise and Ji Tianyu's divine seat to crumble."
"She won't take pleasure in this, nor will she allow humanity to find peace. She won't let Han Miaoyuan rest easy."
"Therefore, the Kylin must die, but only after Yuwen Hao and Ji Tianyu. In doing so, three divine seats will suddenly open up in the Everlands. Aside from the two claimed by the Chronowyrm, there should be one more available."
"The allocation of this additional seat requires careful consideration. I must determine how to maximize the benefits while ensuring acceptance from all parties." Taishi sat on the bronze coffin, his eyes alight with intelligence, seemingly already contemplating his choices.
He was deliberating on who would fill the extra seat and gain the tacit approval of the others.
And the person who ascends to godhood will undoubtedly bring great advantages to the Boulderdawn.
Observing Taishi, Yu Yuan felt an odd sensation, as if Taishi was orchestrating some grand plan, calculating his moves against someone.
Suddenly, he understood why he hadn't been close with Taishi in his first life.
The reason was that he and Taishi were fundamentally different, with a vast chasm between their personalities.
Back in the day, Youyu had Xuanli by his side to handle all the sect's affairs, manage relationships, and tirelessly devote himself to the future of the sect.
In the present day, the human race had formidable warriors like Lin Daoke and Tan Xiaotian from the Devil Palace.
Yet, it was Han Miaoyuan of the Ebon Star who was constantly strategizing for the human race, negotiating with the Dark Phoenix, and outwitting the various extraterrestrial races.
In his first life, he had someone like that by his side too, and that was the Taishi standing before him.
He and Youyu got along so well because, like him, Youyu did everything possible to enhance his own strength, without being distracted by other concerns.
But whether it was Youyu, Lin Daoke, or Tan Xiaotian, they all needed someone like that in their corner.
With such a person around, they could concentrate on fighting, avoid getting bogged down in minor issues, and maintain supreme combat strength.
"I..." Yu Yuan began, intending to inquire about the past.
Taishi shook his head, saying, "I know what you're curious about, but you should try to recall your own history, not rely on me to tell it. For starters, I'm not you, and I don't know you that intimately. Moreover, if I were to reveal everything, it would do more harm than good."
"Since you've already made your choice, I respect it, and I won't interfere."
His implication was clear: if he divulged everything about Yu Yuan's first life, it might lead to the premature awakening of the Taiyin God-King.
And that would contradict Yu Yuan's own intentions.
