C1587 The Dark Phoenix's Mystery of Eternal Life

As the emaciated Abyssal Leviathan coughed up blood in a frenzy, its injuries miraculously began to heal at an alarming rate—a rate that even Yu Yuan found terrifying. Scales on its neck sprouted anew in the blink of an eye. The gashes on its palms and back, absorbing cosmic energy from the stars, sealed themselves in moments. Its astounding regenerative abilities were truly a sight to behold.

It appeared that if the Abyssal Leviathan were left in any place suffused with cosmic energy, it would eventually regain its full strength, even in a dormant state. Upon closer inspection, Yu Yuan observed that beneath its skin, chunks of flesh were also writhing and reforming, albeit at a slower pace than the scales and wounds. These were its vital organs, indicating that it was still recovering from serious injuries.

With a whoosh, Yu Yuan's immense Solar Spirit contracted slightly, allowing him to see clearly the numerous bloodline chains within the heart of the Abyssal Leviathan, each pulsing with the Secrets of Life. He realized that these bloodline chains were part of the profound meanings of life the Abyssal Leviathan had acquired from deep beneath the Primal Blood Continent. This esoteric knowledge, combined with the giant beast's extraordinary self-healing powers, accounted for the Abyssal Leviathan's unique abilities.

Yu Yuan understood that as long as the heart of the Abyssal Leviathan remained intact and didn't shatter or completely disintegrate, it could be entirely reconstituted. The Abyssal Leviathan's organs, skull, and even its bones could all be rebuilt, drawing upon the abundant vital energy from its heart.

Furthermore, Yu Yuan noticed an even more wondrous bloodline chain deep within the heart of the Abyssal Leviathan. This chain seemed to harbor the secrets of immortality!

His profound understanding stemmed from the fact that he now possessed all the miraculous aspects of life that the cosmic giant beast had. He even possessed what the Abyssal Leviathan lacked! In a moment of epiphany, he realized an astonishing truth—his unique Solar Spirit could live forever! Even if his physical form perished, and his dominant soul and Lunar Spirit were extinguished, his Solar Spirit, purified by the subterranean creature of the Primal Blood Continent, would live on eternally.

Within his Solar Spirit, there was an extremely unique bloodline chain identical to that of the Abyssal Leviathan.

"The very thing I've longed for, you've effortlessly acquired! It infuriates me!"

The Abyssal Leviathan's eyes, one scarlet and one pearlescent, glinted with a fierce and cruel light. "Is it doing this deliberately? Is it trying to sabotage me?" In its human form, the Abyssal Leviathan suddenly turned its attention toward the Dark Star.

Its gaze appeared to be locked onto the Primal Blood Continent.

"Why is the Secrets of Life granted to me so utterly worthless? What's the point of eternal life through life force for me? I am a cosmic giant beast; I was born immortal!"

It ranted bitterly about its woeful destiny, its grievances reaching the heavens.

"You've imprinted something utterly useless to me into my heart, and I can't even be bothered to decipher its profound meaning. Yet, once imprinted, my blood now inherently possesses the power to extend the lives of others."

"I..."

He was too late; after Yu Yuan received the gift, he could no longer detect the subterranean creature of the Primal Blood Continent.

He knew it would be an eternity before that entity would awaken again, so he continued to curse endlessly.

He was truly at the pinnacle of despair.

Meanwhile, Yu Yuan, listening to his tirade, grew increasingly solemn.

From the disjointed and somewhat chaotic speech, Yu Yuan pieced together some facts.

The Abyssal Leviathan, being a cosmic giant beast, would not die a natural death unless slain by an external force.

It had intercepted a fragment of the Secrets of Life from deep within the Primal Blood Continent, imprinting it into its heart and adding several bloodline chains.

These chains naturally held the Secrets of Life, the key being the attainment of immortality through flesh and blood!

Had the Secrets of Life fallen into the hands of anyone but the Abyssal Leviathan—be it the Blood King, the elder of the Dawnbringers, the mightiest of the Shadowkin and enchantresses, or the Dark Deities of the Everlands...

The Nagas and Dark Deities of the Everlands, if granted the power of eternal life, would likely wake up laughing from their dreams.

Yet, ironically, the Abyssal Leviathan had no need for the Secrets of Life tied to eternal flesh and blood.

He, blessed with infinite life, realized that despite the Secrets of Life being etched into his being, he never fully grasped its profound mysteries from start to finish.

Instead, he mastered the art of accelerated healing, harnessing dense vital energy to regenerate his organs and bones.

The most powerful beings from beyond the stars knew only of his life-extending blood, oblivious to its deeper significance.

As a cosmic giant beast with the gift of immortality, the true essence of life pulsing at his heart's core was overlooked by all.

The Solar Meridian of the Primal Blood Continent was among the few aware of this secret, coveting this aspect of the Secrets of Life.

Should the Solar Meridian acquire and thoroughly understand it, applying it to the formidable Demon God Grec of the Blood Fiend Clan could grant him eternal life.

Another who uncovered this secret was the Dark Phoenix of the Everlands.

Upon her discovery, she imprisoned the Abyssal Leviathan beneath the Embers Sea, doling out its blood as a boon to other archdemons.

Yet, she herself was tirelessly deciphering the eternal life enigma branded within the heart of the Abyssal Leviathan.

Incredibly, she succeeded in unlocking the secret to everlasting flesh and blood!

The Dark Phoenix, once bound by mortality like the Kylin, the Golden Elephant God, and the dragons of the Everlands, transcended her limits through the Abyssal Leviathan's heart, securing her place at the pinnacle of the Everlands as a formidable outlier.

The Abyssal Leviathan revealed that post-immortality, she continued her relentless pursuit of cosmic giant beasts.

Such a Dark Phoenix effectively became an archdemon of the Everlands, undergoing a metamorphosis akin to that of a cosmic giant beast.

Though not born a cosmic giant beast, her newfound immortality and the power gained from slaying numerous giant beasts elevated her to a might surpassing theirs, turning her into the bane of the Star River's cosmic giant beasts.

The Abyssal Leviathan confessed his departure to distant celestial rivers was spurred by the Dark Phoenix's insatiable desire to harvest his flesh and blood.

It seemed he intended to nourish something with his own flesh and blood...

Terrified of the Dark Phoenix, he kept his distance, fearful of being captured once more and subjected to the horror of being periodically mutilated to feed the Dark Phoenix's "offspring."

As Yu Yuan listened to the Abyssal Leviathan's mad ravings, his expression took on a peculiar cast.

He was aware that after the Dark Phoenix had stolen the Titan Spinosaurus hatchling from Taishi, it must have realized the immense amount of vital energy required for the creature's growth.

And so, the Dark Phoenix once again turned its attention to the Abyssal Leviathan.

In that moment, Yu Yuan's thoughts stirred, and he noticed the blood of the Abyssal Leviathan, mingled with the river water, seeping into the violet-gold dragon egg on the Dragon Slaying Stage.

Inside the egg, the young Titan Spinosaurus was greedily lapping up the blood, appearing utterly content and joyful...

The blood of the Abyssal Leviathan, rich in life essence, was a potent nourishment for any growing alien beast...

Yu Yuan felt a jolt of realization and immediately turned his attention elsewhere.

Indeed.

Even the Snow Kid was industriously carving out a pond with his plump little hands, filling it with the Abyssal Leviathan's verdant blood, occasionally dipping down to gulp it eagerly.

The Snow Kid's face was a picture of bliss.

Yu Yuan couldn't help but exclaim, "You truly are a treasure."

At that moment, he observed numerous members of the Blood Fiend clan, stirred by his confrontation with the Abyssal Leviathan, approaching from the Dark Star.

With a whoosh, the Solar Spirit retreated to the little world of vitality and reformed into a crystalline state, with segments of crimson crystal flickering to life.

This segment of the blood crystal was intimately linked to the Blood Fiend, having been refined from the blood crystal of the Demon God Grec.

Subsequently, it was imbued with a wondrous new power by the subterranean creature of the Primal Blood Continent.

Distracted by multiple tasks, he contemplated with the Solar Spirit and surmised...

The Root of the Solar Meridian had also gleaned a portion of the Secrets of Life from beneath the continent, enabling it to spawn entirely new species of life and bestowing upon the Blood Fiend clan an innate gift for refining blood.

This, too, was a branch of the Secrets of Life.

The Solar Meridian's power, linked to destruction, meant that when it grew stronger in battle, the Blood Fiend Clan reaped the benefits.

Thus, the Blood Fiend could claim dominion over the Primal Blood Continent, transforming it into their stronghold, and preventing anyone in the cosmos from uncovering its subterranean secrets.

"Yu, Yu Yuan..."

Zhou Cangmin's call echoed from the direction of Kobran.

"Are you also afraid of being marked by the Solar Meridian and the Demon God Grec, which is why you've taken human form?" Yu Yuan mused before speaking, "The red moon, imbued with the Solar Meridian's power, has begun to move. We need to relocate. Whether we continue this battle or not, we can't remain here."

The red moon was an eye of the Solar Meridian, now rushing toward them alongside the Blood Fiend Clan members.

Yu Yuan sensed that the Solar Meridian might manage to shift its power to the red moon from deep within the Primal Blood Continent, albeit at a significant cost.

The Solar Meridian, progenitor of the Blood Fiend, was immeasurably more formidable than both the Voidweaver and the Blightwood.

The fact that even the Dark Phoenix avoided the Dark Star region spoke volumes of the Solar Meridian's exceptional nature.

"Once it falls back into slumber, it won't be able to confuse the Solar Meridian's perception, so the Root of the Solar Meridian must have detected the anomaly," the Abyssal Leviathan remarked with a scoff.

At that revelation, Yu Yuan realized his successful connection with the Subterranean Creature through Ann Ziqing's Blood Pool was only possible because the creature had gone out of its way to obscure the spiritual sense of the Solar Meridian's Root.

Otherwise, his endeavor would not have gone so smoothly.

Now that the troublesome entity was asleep and could no longer shield the Blood's Heavenly Secret, and given the significant disturbance from his clash with the Abyssal Leviathan, the Solar Meridian was likely roused.

"Why didn't you mention this sooner?" Yu Yuan shot him a glare.

"Why would I? I'd rather see you or it perish first!"
