C1597 The Fear of Each Other

When Beilstein spoke of the Demon Phoenix, he consistently referred to it as a fledgling. Yet, his expression and tone betrayed a clear sense of recognition and admiration. As the universally acknowledged foremost being in the infinite cosmos, Yu Yuan found Beilstein's high esteem for the Demon Phoenix quite surprising.

What was even more unexpected was that the supreme Titan Spinosaurus had been slain by Beilstein himself! Although Beilstein had initially employed his preferred tactic of drawing other Starry Behemoths into a trap to mortally wound the Titan, Yu Yuan still held a deep respect for Beilstein's power, especially considering his relatively brief encounter with the Origin Soul.

"The fledgling phoenix is indeed remarkable. Despite my personal feelings towards her, I cannot deny her astonishing accomplishments."

Clang! Boom!

Following his declaration, the elite warriors of various races, the deceased demons, and the human remains all collapsed to the ground in a thunderous fall. The desolate battlefield was engulfed in a storm of dust and bone fragments, resembling a series of sandstorms erupting from the earth.

Regardless of the might of the Platinum Asuras and the Ninth Level Demon Kings, the ravages of time had rendered their skeletons fragile after tens of thousands of years. Upon impact, many of the bones, some over ten meters in length, shattered into dust.

Yu Yuan also observed the elder of the Star Race, with a hole through his brow, transform into a wisp of smoke upon hitting the ground. It became apparent that the mobility of the deceased was entirely due to Beilstein's masterful manipulation.

The battlefield had seemed fierce, with tens of thousands of formidable beings locked in combat, yet none had truly experienced a fatal blow. Beilstein's mastery over these puppet-like beings was nothing short of exquisite.

While he spoke, tens of thousands of devilish thoughts controlled an equal number of skeletons in a mesmerizing display of combat, with not a single bone shattered nor a true injury inflicted. But once he landed, losing interest, the desiccated bones crumbled to ash and dust.

The entity that had appeared before them, along with the tens of thousands of devilish thoughts, was merely a fragment of his countless mighty Devil Souls—just one of his many avatars.

"It was through my contact with the Origin Soul that I received its favor and insight, allowing me to grasp the essence of the soul and achieve what I have today. It was I who elevated the entire Devaputra Race. I, Beilstein, was the first to break through and become a Great Demon God, the first to unravel the enigma of eternal life through the Origin Soul."

Apart from the Elemental Devil Clan born in the vast expanse, there are other Devaputra Races, like us, who exist as pure souls. Under my tutelage, they have been able to ascend to become Great Demon Gods, living eternally in that form.

In this respect, I am selfless.

It is because of me that the entire Devaputra Race has been elevated, which is why many branches of the Devaputra Race have always regarded me and the Elemental Devil Clan from the vast expanse as their leaders.

Great Demon God Grec, having been created by the origin blood and backed by the Yang Meridian, might harbor some divergent loyalties.

Beilstein chuckled without concern, "In truth, Grec can't change much."

The elders of the Internal Demon Clan, Shadow Demon Clan, Polar Devaputra, and Blue Demon Clan are all aware of the reasons. I maintain absolute control over the entire Devaputra Race. Without me, they could not break through to become Great Demon Gods, nor could they live forever in that form.

As for the fledgling Demon Phoenix, you might consider her my counterpart among the alien beasts.

The Great Demon God's eyes took on a serious hue. "As an alien beast, she has accomplished two unprecedented feats without the blood of the Titan spinosaurus or an ascension of life level."

"Firstly, she elevated her bloodline from the Ninth Level to the Tenth Level, a feat no alien beast had achieved before her."

"Secondly, she deciphered the profound mysteries related to eternal life imprinted within the Chaos Roc by the origin blood. This granted her immortality and an infinite lifespan." Beilstein's face was marked by a sense of wonder.

Yu Yuan regarded her with solemn respect.

I never imagined the Demon Phoenix of the Boundless Great World to be so exceptional. As an alien beast, she achieved feats that were once thought impossible, just like Beilstein.

The ancient demon races of the Boundless Great World were able to break through to the Tenth Level and become Demon Gods partly because they merged with the blood of the spinosaurus, and partly due to her enlightenment.

"When I departed, she had indeed accomplished many great deeds in the Boundless Great World, achieving significant feats."

Regrettably, after she ingeniously broke through the essence of her blood and elevated her bloodline to the Tenth Level, the Dragon Gods born from the spinosaurus blood emerged as an unstoppable force. Shortly after her breakthrough, before she could even grasp the change, not just one, but several Dragon Gods had already come into being.

"After all, it was a supernatural being born directly from that individual's blood, complete with a naturally formed Bloodline Crystal Chain in its heart. And at that time, I was absent..." Beilstein reflected with a sigh.

"Why didn't you return to the Boundless Great World after the Titan Spinosaurus perished?" inquired Yu Yuan with curiosity.

"That Titan Spinosaurus! Do you really think it was as easy to defeat as I made it sound?" Beilstein's already ruddy face deepened in color, a touch of embarrassment in his tone as he defended himself, "I had only been under the Origin Soul's favor for a brief time, far less than the years it had been nurtured by the Origin Blood. My own power hadn't been built up enough..."

"Okay, I'll admit it, I sustained very serious injuries. There were moments when my Devil Soul's consciousness became hazy."

"As a result, I had no choice but to seek refuge in the Outland, within a haven specifically crafted for me by the entire Outland Devaputra Race."

"There, I had devoted followers, the newly born Great Demon Gods of the Elemental Devil Clan, and other formidable Devaputras who revered me as a deity. They took good care of me, ensuring I could safely navigate through that vulnerable time." Beilstein revealed the hidden details of his ordeal.

From his account, it was clear he had been extremely frail after defeating the Titan Spinosaurus.

He feared becoming a target for other clan powerhouses or attracting the attention of the Starry Behemoth, so he had no choice but to retreat to the stronghold of the Outland Devaputra, relying on the strength of the entire race to survive the ordeal.

Consequently, he was unable to attend to the earth-shattering upheaval that was about to engulf the galaxy.

"Only when I fully recovered did I learn of the tremendous miracle that had occurred in the ancestral lands of the Elemental Devil Clan due to the collision of blood and soul."

The tall, red-bearded elder's face glowed with an odd radiance, reflecting a mix of pride and concern.

"Fortunately, when I resolved to slay the Titan Spinosaurus in the Vast Ocean, all the members of the Elemental Devil Clan had already evacuated. Facing that supreme entity, I wasn't entirely sure of success. Fearing the repercussions on my people, I had them leave early."

"After awakening, I discovered the emergence of the Nagas, the birth of a new and vulnerable human race, and alien beasts elevated by the baptism of dragon blood, now possessing astonishing intelligence. It was then I realized that even the source of the Yin Meridian had been sought out in my absence."

"The rise of the Nagas, the disruption of the Yin Meridians, and the fledgling phoenix gathering strength..."

"The events unfolding in my homeland are beyond belief, captivating me with their wonder. At that time, I felt no urgency to return or to intervene."

"Though I could have influenced the course of events had I chosen to, I refrained from doing so."

"The sole reason for my inaction was the Spinosaurus's revelation before its death—it informed me of the Abyss's existence."

"It warned me that the Abyss posed a great threat to us, particularly after it perished by my hand."

"Indeed, it had only recently emerged from the Abyss before being besieged by the Starry Behemoths."

Beilstein paused.

Yu Yuan was astounded. "It had been there?"

He had always believed that no life form had ever ventured into the Abyss, that it was the Abyss's own aberrations that constantly sought to invade his world.

Much like the Origin Realm God, who created Origin Realm Gates throughout the cosmos, aiming to overturn the entire starry expanse.

Beilstein nodded. "It was the first to delve into the Abyss, plunging in and wreaking havoc. At that time, the Abyss had no gate; it stumbled upon the entrance by chance and entered."

"It is the only known entity from our world to have truly ventured into the Abyss."

"With its formidable might, it was invincible in our starry skies and equally unbridled in the Abyss World. The mightiest beings of the Abyss had to unite to expel it. To prevent its return, they exhausted their strength to forge the Abyss Gate."

"The creation of the Abyss Gate was an act of defense, a precaution against its potential return."

"After being expelled, it discovered the creatures of the Abyss had erected the Abyss Gate. In a fit of rage, it imposed its own unique seal upon the foundation of the Abyss Gate."

"Thus, the Abyss Gate we know today is a fusion of the Abyss creatures' efforts and its own power."

As Beilstein spoke, his face lit up with admiration, "It was so extraordinary and powerful."

"Therefore, in the beginning, it was our entity that first invaded the Abyss. The creatures there, even in their strongest form, seemed to have little recourse against it, resulting in a devastating defeat."

Forced into a corner, they had to rally the might of the Abyss to expel it. They even constructed the Abyss Gate to prevent any chance of its return.

The Great Demon God cleared his throat and continued, "Hence, the first task I undertook after regaining my strength was to follow the trail it left to the Abyss. Upon my arrival, I sensed a creature of the Abyss patrolling beneath the Abyss Gate. This sensation differed from the current Abyss creatures. Back then, the Abyss creature was extremely vigilant, filled with dread."

"Fearful of it?" Yu Yuan inquired, puzzled.

"It was certainly a primary factor, but there was an even greater reason that I later came to understand," Beilstein, the Great Demon God, said with a faint smile. "All life forms fear the unknown. At that time, it had already ventured into the Abyss, learning of its wonders and the state of its inhabitants."

"However, the Abyss knew nothing of us. The only entity from our realm they had ever encountered was the supreme being."

"They might assume that all beings in our world operate at the level of Titans and spinosauruses."

"Can you imagine their restlessness? Their perpetual fear, day and night?"
