C1611 Gui Xu Took Action!
"Don't approach them, and refrain from any covert attacks. Let them have their conversation in private."
Taishi, standing outside Ionodios, shook his head with a frown at Tianqi, Gui Xu, Brie, Rebecca, and the other peak powerhouses. "That kid, Pei Yuling, has the presence of the Origin Deity within the Origin Gate behind him. Neither you nor I can prevent him from being instantly killed by that entity."
"Pulling Pei Yuling back means Yu Yuan won't even get the chance to speak with him, so let's all take a moment to calm down."
When the Origin Deity was mentioned, everyone abruptly realized that this enigmatic being was currently inside the gate, right behind Pei Yuling.
Taishi's words cast a grave look upon everyone's faces, and a heavy mood ensued.
It felt as though the Origin Gate had become a sinister eye, observing all within the Star River.
The threat of the Origin Deity was immense. The recent turmoil he stirred up had spread across the vast Star River, and everyone was coming to understand that this mysterious deity from another world harbored countless secrets, defying conventional understanding.
"Let's give them the opportunity to speak privately."
Reid, the High Priest of the Sky Fiend Clan, then spoke up, commanding Heather of the Moonlit Wanderers with an authoritative tone, "You, lead your remaining people, those not yet corrupted by the Origin Deity, and evacuate from that waning moon at once!"
He added sternly, "If you value your life, that is!"
Shaken by her people willingly walking to their deaths and the entry of three ancient Moonfiends into the Origin Gate, Heather trembled.
She glanced eastward at Taishi, westward at Reid, and finally, her gaze settled on Yu Yuan...
"Follow me, everyone, let's leave this place!"
Heather called out, issuing the command.
The surviving Moonlit Wanderers took flight from the bisected Silvery Land.
Each backward glance at the eerie spectacle within the ritual altar sent chills to their bones.
The massive octagonal altar, now situated between two floating fragments of land, seemed to emanate a cold light.
Pei Yuling's lips bore a slight smile, his eyes bright and untainted by any alien soul, as if he had always retained his spiritual wisdom.
Yet, this very aspect of him was what Yu Yuan found most alarming.
It indicated that Pei Yuling was not under the corrosive influence of the Origin Deity's malevolent remnant soul, his thoughts and beliefs not twisted by force, nor was he compelled to become a zealous devotee.
If that were the case, he would be relatively easier to deal with. Pei Yuling without his own consciousness would be nothing more than a puppet.
Yet, Pei Yuling's spiritual wisdom remained intact. His gaze was clear, likely persuaded by the "Origin Deity." He believed in the other's ideology, feeling as though he was part of a grand endeavor rather than engaging in malevolent acts.
"You scour the world, seeking to locate my Master, to destroy his soul and his hiding places."
As Pei Yuling observed the other peak experts, including Yu Yuan, acting with considerable restraint, he grew even more composed. "My Master must also take action, right? I must admit, Taishi is incredibly fortunate. If it had been just a bit later, if only..."
He clearly regretted not being able to successfully deliver the waning moon to Ionodios.
The energy that the weaker members of the Moonlit Wanderers could transform and provide was insufficient to cause a fundamental transformation of the Origin Gate behind him. Without forming the 'Maw of Oblivion,' it could not burst forth instantly, unleashing the power to obliterate Ionodios and the Annihilation Nebula.
So, whether those people stayed or left became inconsequential to him.
"You hail from the Everlands, and you are a member of its human race. Mr. Pei, are you aware that the one behind you seeks to destroy the Everlands as well?" Yu Yuan called out.
"I'm aware," Pei Yuling replied with a wry smile. "But take a look at my current state. Can I still be called human?"
With a whoosh, two immense, iridescent butterfly wings sprouted from Pei Yuling's back, fluttering gently.
Concentric waves of space undulated with the movement of the wings, making Pei Yuling appear as if he were part of the divine butterfly itself.
The mystical and elusive rhythm capable of traversing the void, the Voice of the Heavens, emanated from the wings.
Without needing to look, Yu Yuan knew that the wings were a transformation of his Solar Spirit, containing the enigmatic power of space due to the blood of the Voidweaver.
"I owe you my thanks. If it weren't for you and Youyu killing Rovi deep within the Everlands, I wouldn't have become what I am now."
Pei Yuling didn't wait for Yu Yuan to respond before adding, "Yu Yuan, do you truly consider yourself a genuine human being? Don't think we haven't noticed you. Ever since you crafted the Altar of Rebirth from the Sunsorrow within the Abyssal Leviathan's body, you ceased to be purely human."
"Therefore, don't presume to lecture me on righteousness. You have no right to do so."
He brandished his butterfly wings, gracefully emerging from the Origin Gate. The two massive expanses of silvery land seemed unable to bear the force of his wings' beating and parted to either side.
This allowed him to conspicuously enter everyone's field of vision.
"The Boulderdawn hail from the Everlands. If they can ally with the Sky Fiend, the Shadowkin, the Dawnbringers, and the enchantress, why can't I, along with Diggs and the Voidweaver, reach out to our master? Aren't the Shadowkin and the Starborn considered outsiders by the human race as well?"
"Scope is merely a matter of scale, nothing fundamentally different!"
Pei Yuling's gaze fell upon High Priest Reid, Taishi, Tianqi, Rebecca, and Brie, his words laced with a mocking tone.
His audience was left speechless.
Within a smaller context, the Boulderdawn's alliance with the Starborn, Dawnbringers, and Shadowkin signified betrayal to the humans of the Everlands, a collusion with foreign entities.
For Brie and Rebecca, their union with the Boulderdawn also represented a forsaking of their kin.
Given these circumstances, what fault lies in Pei Yuling, the Voidweaver, and the Blightwood seeking an alliance with the distant Origin Deity?
"We are merely pioneers! Just as the human race first ventured into the extraterrestrial realm tens of thousands of years ago, I am simply venturing further!" Pei Yuling declared emphatically.
"Enough."
At that moment, a gentle voice emanated from behind Pei Yuling.
Surprisingly, this voice did not originate from the Origin Gate—it bore the timbre of Gui Xu...
The God-King Gui Xu, now devoid of his corporeal form, spoke as if to obstruct Pei Yuling's return through the Origin Gate.
A murky, enigmatic shadow materialized before the Origin Gate, its form curiously peering as though attempting to glimpse what lay beyond.
"You may proceed to seal this heaven and earth. Rest assured, Pei Yuling will not be able to pass through this gate again."
Gui Xu's shadow continued to infiltrate subtly, the undulating, multicolored ripples preventing the Origin Gate from closing or shattering, keeping it perpetually ajar.
"If you don't mind, we could have a chat inside..."
Whoosh!
A wraithlike gray figure emerged from the hazy shadows of Gui Xu and entered the Origin Gate, heading straight into the depths of the Origin Realm.
Rip!
Yu Yuan unleashed a series of dazzling sword lights, shattering the Solar Spirit-crafted butterfly wings that Pei Yuling had spread behind him. The sky was filled with green blood that transformed into millions of vibrant butterflies, creating a scene as surreal and beautiful as a cluster of twinkling stars.
Gui Xu and Yu Yuan worked together seamlessly in battle. Gui Xu, a master of stealth, managed to elude not only Pei Yuling but also the perception of the Origin Deity.
He blocked Pei Yuling's way back, severing his connection to the Origin Gate and preventing any communication with the enigmatic Origin Deity. Moreover, Gui Xu fearlessly split off a shadow and set foot in the Origin Realm!
As an invader, the God-King Gui Xu penetrated deep into the Origin Realm, boldly challenging the authority of the Origin Deity!
"In the Everlands, Lin Daoke and I share the same worries; we fear the destruction of the Origin Gate could harm our homes and families. But the Annihilation Nebula is insignificant. Even if it's destroyed, we'll simply find another. Since you're intent on destroying Ionodios and the Annihilation Nebula..."
"Then I'll also try to see if I can obliterate your Origin Realm!"
Gui Xu spoke in a calm, collected whisper.
Yu Yuan, in the midst of swordplay, wore a peculiar look as he used a remnant soul to sense the presence before the Origin Gate.
He had just detected that the gray figure Gui Xu sent through the Origin Gate was enveloped in Soul-Igniting Mist...
This Soulblight, a fearsome concoction he had crafted for Hong Qi, could wreak havoc if it spread widely in a world inhabited by souls.
Gui Xu not only carried the Soul-Igniting Mist with him but had also released it into the Origin Realm!
