C1625 Stepped into the Gray Domain

"I've definitely been here before."

Upon stepping into the fringe of the Gray Domain, Yu Yuan was struck by a wave of familiarity.

Even without a flash of memory to guide him, he was certain he had visited this place before.

And not just once!

Whoosh! Whoosh!

A dense cosmic energy converged from all directions, streaming towards the Dragon Slash Platform nestled deep within his God Fault Acupoint.

The small world inside the Dragon Slash Platform, where a purple-gold dragon egg harbored a young Titan Spinosaurus, was radiating light.

The young creature stretched contentedly within the egg, as if it had returned home, to the very source of its lineage.

Neither the dragon egg, the Dragon Slash Platform, nor the God Fault Acupoint could prevent it from drawing in the cosmic energy.

The Gray Domain's energy, richer than that of the outside world, seemed to actively swirl and rush towards the Dragon Slash Platform, drawn by the creature's rhythmic breathing.

For some inexplicable reason, in that instant, Yu Yuan sensed something.

The dragon egg was destined to crack open in the Gray Domain, and the young Titan Spinosaurus would emerge from the Dragon Slash Platform, making its presence known in the Gray Domain!

It was an inevitable event, beyond his control or ability to alter.

"The Dragon Slash Platform was originally created from the shed cocoon of the Void Spirit Succubus. All Starry Behemoths can effortlessly attract vast amounts of cosmic energy in a place like the Gray Domain. Yet, the Heaven Opening Divine Stone is not a Void Spirit Succubus, and the commotion from your Dragon Slash Platform seems rather excessive," remarked the Chaos Roc, eyeing Yu Yuan's God Fault Acupoint with surprise.

"Gray Domain..."

Yu Yuan whispered to himself, choosing not to employ the wonders of the Dragon Slash Platform. Instead, he released his soul consciousness, letting it ripple outward into the world.

His consciousness spread like ripples in water, meeting resistance at every turn.

It was as if he were a toddler taking his first steps, who had stumbled into a muddy pond. His progress was already laborious, and the increasingly complex and harsh environment made each step agonizing.

In the Gray Domain, his soul's perceptive abilities were significantly diminished.

"It's peculiar how the souls of the Boundless Human Race are so severely weakened in the Gray Domain before they've secured a Divine Throne or ascended to the Supreme Being Stage. Interestingly, once a member of the Boundless Human Race acquires a Primordial Spirit, they seem to become impervious to the Gray Domain's effects."

The Chaos Roc remained patient, offering guidance to Yu Yuan as he delved into the enigmas of the Gray Domain.

"Besides the Starry Behemoth, the Devaputra are the most adept at navigating the Gray Domain. Their Devil Soul, much like that of the Starry Behemoth, thrives in the Gray Domain, with their sensory abilities not only unimpeded but slightly enhanced."

"It's quite peculiar, actually."

What he didn't realize was that at the moment a supreme human Primordial Spirit transformed, it essentially became a Primordial Devil among the Devaputra.

The transformation occurred instantaneously for the human race's most powerful beings upon the formation of their Primordial Spirit, enabling them to effortlessly perceive the entirety of the Gray Domain.

"Peculiar indeed..."

Yu Yuan decided to call forth the Dragon Slash Platform, holding it in his palm to sense it once more. He quickly discovered that the space-time energy within was seemingly constrained by invisible cosmic laws.

This meant he was apparently unable to harness the residual abilities of the Space-time Dragon for short-range void travel.

Yet, if the Gray Domain imposed limits on spatial powers, why then did the Origin Realm God transport individuals like Youyu and Tan Xiaotian into this realm?

He voiced his confusion.

"All I'm aware of is a bizarre region deep within the Gray Domain, constantly emitting terrifying spatial tremors," responded the Chaos Roc. "Those in the galaxy who've mastered spatial powers might dare to venture there. Sadly, the majority who do so never return."

A gossamer shield of Spiritual Energy enveloped Yu Yuan, shielding him from the Gray Domain's spatial anomalies.

This protection was necessary as the Gray Domain's myriad space powers posed significant threats to human flesh and blood.

Even his well-tempered true form began to feel discomfort.

The invasive powers seeping into his skin caused a burning sensation, leaving it as red and irritated as if pierced by countless needles.

Naturally, if he manifested his Yang God instead of his true form, he believed he would remain unaffected.

In this unique environment, the Yang God could, like the Chaos Roc and the Dragon Slash Platform, effortlessly attract and purify all surrounding spatial energies.

"The Great Demons of the Demon Palace are unaffected once they reach the level of the Demon King."

The Chaos Roc discerned that he was forming a spiritual energy barrier to shield his flesh from the relentless erosion of the dense starry powers, and remarked, "It's inevitable. In the vastness of space, it's exceedingly rare to find intelligent beings more fragile than humans."

"No matter how many times humans temper their physical forms, they struggle to attain the resilience of the Demon Clan. The frailty of their bodies has always been a human shortcoming, not something that can be remedied overnight."

"Of course, your Yang God is an exception."

Observing Yu Yuan gradually acclimating, the Chaos Roc, in the guise of a gaunt elder, pressed on deeper.

Trailing behind, Yu Yuan noticed the puddle beneath the Chaos Roc's feet growing increasingly saturated with the essence of water. Even without assuming his monstrous form, he thrived as effortlessly as a fish in water.

Moreover, the wounds within his body and the split tendons were healing at an accelerated pace.

Had he been in the Gray Domain without facing formidable foes or attracting the attention of other mighty beings, this place would have been ideal for recuperating and steadily augmenting his strength.

"Open!"

With a soft command, he harnessed the power of the Dragon Slash Platform, and his Wisdom Eye sprang to life.

The dense grey fog ahead thinned out with the activation of his Wisdom Eye.

He observed countless minuscule impurities and toxins suspended in the void, alongside dust particles twisting the soul, and swarms of tiny creatures, dozens of times smaller than a grain of rice, engaged in predation.

The Gray Domain was starkly different from the Starry Border.

Here, the concentrated energies of the cosmos nurtured a diverse array of life forms.

"Life..." Yu Yuan smiled to himself in silence.

Roughly half an hour later, he noticed the Chaos Roc had come to a halt, its brow furrowed as it gazed intently at a sea of bones to the left.

A myriad of bones had formed an eerie sea, shrouded within the deep crimson of the blood mist.

A massive, fleshless, and hairless skull, lion-like in shape, shimmered with a faint golden radiance, exuding bursts of demonic power.

Within the hollow eye sockets of the lion's skull, two creatures sat side by side, as if they were neighbors.

A Platinum Asura and a Demon God were perched within the eye sockets of a lion's head.

It appeared they had made their home there for quite some time...

The eye sockets, more spacious than houses, contained simple bone-made furniture, including chairs and tables, seemingly scavenged from the surrounding sea of bones.

"Outside the Gray Domain, Beilstein discarded the Asura King. Who would have thought a Platinum Asura and Demon God would be cohabiting in the skull of the Golden Lion King?" The Chaos Roc chuckled, its face betraying little surprise.

Despite its injuries, it felt superior to the Platinum Asura and Demon God, who had fashioned a home atop a lion's skull amidst a sea of bones.

"We've only just entered the Gray Domain and already encountered such formidable beings. This suggests there's real danger ahead."

Yu Yuan furrowed his brow, not sharing the Chaos Roc's overconfidence. "Just because these two are no threat to us doesn't mean all we encounter will be the same."

Suddenly, the sea of bones and the massive lion's head surged towards them.

"It seems they wish to escape the Gray Domain," the Chaos Roc murmured, signaling Yu Yuan to hold back and stow the Dragon Slash Platform.

Yu Yuan complied.

"Excuse me..."

As the Chaos Roc spoke, it and the water beneath its feet shifted dozens of miles to confront the advancing bone sea.

"Are you so eager to leave the Gray Domain? Has some calamity befallen its depths? Don't be foolish!"

Before it could finish, the Demon God and Platinum Asura from the Devaputra Race launched their attack. The shattered bones within the sea of bones, animated by the Platinum Asura, transformed into a blizzard of bone-blades, gleaming with icy light and etched with the principles of gold metal.

Meanwhile, the Ninth Level Demon God unleashed a soul-shattering demon cry, spawning myriad demonic shadows within the Chaos Roc's mind.
