C1667 Arriving at the Destination

It seemed as though every Cosmic Giant Beast in existence had caught wind of something and had stealthily converged upon the Ashlands.

The Abyssal Leviathan was intimately familiar with the Abyssal Greater Basilisk. It knew that to evade the Demon God Bertain, this old friend had spent years skirting the fringes of the cosmos, ever fearful of attracting Bertain's attention.

It must have risked venturing into the Ashlands for a reason—something there must have drawn it.

Upon realizing that the Abyssal Greater Basilisk was the one who had slain the Titan Spinosaurus, the Three-legged Golden Crow grew quiet.

The power of the Abyssal Greater Basilisk was beyond its current means to challenge. Seeking vengeance for the Titan Spinosaurus would be futile; it would be a death sentence.

Thus, it turned its hopeful gaze to Taixu.

"Considering it's the Abyssal Greater Basilisk, I doubt there's much I can do," Taixu said with a wry smile.

Xuanli and Yin Tiehua were still reeling, struggling to process the young Titan Spinosaurus's escape from Yu Yuan's Dragon Slaying Stage.

Yu Yuan's eyebrows lifted as he remarked, "It traversed ten thousand miles in an instant."

The young beast had swiftly dispatched its first prey.

After its successful hunt, the young beast vanished and reappeared in a different region of the Ashlands, ready to begin another round of feeding.

Moreover, the young beast sent out waves of satisfaction and pride through its remnant soul, much like a child awaiting praise.

"You can track its movements and pinpoint its location?" The Abyssal Leviathan's spirit surged. Licking its lips, it proposed, "If the Old Titan Spinosaurus truly left something hidden in the Ashlands, perhaps only this youngling can unearth it. Through it, we might discover the relics of that supreme ruler."

At these words, the eyes of Yin Tiehua, Xuanli, and the three alien beasts sparkled with anticipation.

They all harbored suspicions that the Abyssal Greater Basilisk, the secular bird, and the Origin Deity had come in search of the Old Titan Spinosaurus's legacy.

Should such a relic exist, it would undoubtedly be of monumental significance.

"I can't catch up to it," Yu Yuan said, shaking his head. After pausing to sense its presence again, he continued, "It's deliberately avoiding me; it doesn't want to be confined in the Dragon Slaying Stage once more. Moreover, I now realize why it's bold enough to emerge, despite the presence of the Secular Bird Queen, the Chaos Serpent, and the Origin Deity."

"Why is that?" Xuanli inquired with curiosity.

"Because no one can keep pace with it."

Yu Yuan, while speaking, glanced at the Abyssal Leviathan and explained, "To me, within the Dragon Slaying Stage, I am akin to a deity. Yu Zhu's combat strength is similarly enhanced in the Everlands and the Rainbow Ocean. For the Abyssal Leviathan, the Ashlands serve a comparable purpose."

"It must be its domain," the Abyssal Leviathan concurred.

The Ashlands, forged and dominated by the Old Titan Spinosaurus, resonated deeply with the young beast from the moment it arrived. This young creature's ability to traverse thousands of miles in an instant within its ancestral territory indicated a harmony between the realm's cosmic order and its own bloodline.

Within the Ashlands, it likely knew the exact locations of the secular bird, the Abyssal Greater Basilisk, and the Chaos Serpent. Early on, when it wasn't yet powerful, it could evade them, and even if it stumbled upon them by accident, it could vanish in a blink.

Outside the Ashlands, in other cosmic realms, the secular bird and colossal creatures like the Abyssal Greater Basilisk might have been able to slay it. But here, in the domain established by its ancestors, its youth didn't compromise its safety.

It would then seek out suitable targets to swiftly bolster its strength. Once its bloodline detected the curious artifact left by the old spinosaurus and it absorbed it, the creature might rapidly reach maturity within the Ashlands.

After reaching adulthood, as long as it remained in the Ashlands, it would have even less to fear from the secular bird and the Abyssal Greater Basilisk.

"My presence will only drive it further into hiding; there's no chance of finding the Old Titan Spinosaurus's relics through it. We'll only see it when it's sated and chooses to meet with me. I suspect that by the time I encounter it again, it will have undergone a tremendous transformation."

Yu Yuan murmured under his breath and gestured for Taixu to keep leading the way while urging the Abyssal Leviathan to cooperate fully.

The disillusioned Abyssal Leviathan let out a sigh, voicing its concerns, "I must find the Abyssal Greater Basilisk quickly and warn him that a newborn Titan Spinosaurus has set its sights on him."

The Three-legged Golden Crow issued a disgruntled squawk.

With a sly grin and a chuckle, the Abyssal Leviathan calmed the Golden Crow down.

The stars roared once more.

This time, their journey was uninterrupted by mishaps or encounters with any formidable beings.

After an indeterminate amount of time, they spotted a silver, oval-shaped star shining in the distance.

The barren star was pockmarked with numerous deep caverns, from which the unmistakable presence of space magic emanated. It seemed as though each cavern could be a gateway to different worlds and galaxies.

"Hmm?" Yu Yuan let out a soft exclamation.

The silver star shared a similar essence with the Dragon Slaying Stage beneath his feet.

The star, riddled with caverns, reminded him of the Veilfall Canyon in the Nirvana Realm, known for its many stable space rifts rumored to have existed long ago. Each rift was said to connect to different worlds, turning the Nirvana Realm into a nexus for various races.

Benin had once explained that the Veilfall Canyon was created by the World-Sundering Stone. This stone had been seized and transformed into the Dragon Slaying Stage by his former self, which had subsequently stripped the canyon of its wonders.

The emanations from the countless deep caverns on the star ahead convinced Yu Yuan of their ability to link to multiple realms.

"This is the place," Taixu declared, his face etched with gravity. He glanced at Yu Yuan and the Dragon Slaying Stage, now glowing with a misty silver light, and spoke softly, "Many years ago, he discovered this place through the Dragon Slaying Stage and brought me here. I never imagined that, after so many years, it would be discovered by the Origin Deity."

Yu Yuan felt a tremor of surprise.

The 'he' Taixu referred to was, of course, his former self.

"Mr. Yan must have been drawn to this star. He appeared in the Ashlands and then vanished here," Youyu mused, his eyes narrowed as he attuned himself to the surroundings. "I can still sense traces of darkness lingering on that star. It's very possible that Tan Xiaotian is imprisoned somewhere within."

The oval-shaped Star of Wonder bore a resemblance to a beehive, riddled with numerous deep caverns. If each cavern could reliably transport people and objects to different astral domains, it was conceivable that the Origin Deity had imposed multiple layers of restrictions in one of them, potentially trapping Tan Xiaotian inside.

Should the deep tunnels be interconnected, Tan Xiaotian might become hopelessly lost, never finding an exit. "The Old Titan Spinosaurus must have used this Star of Wonder to travel and hunt across various Astral Domains. It's no surprise it remained hidden in the Ashlands; whenever it needs to feed, it can instantly appear in its prey's territory through this star," Xuanli remarked, clearly impressed.

"That's indeed the case," the Abyssal Leviathan concurred.

As the group conversed, the Star of Wonder, which had been transformed into their territory, continued to hurtle forward, growing larger before their eyes. Yet, upon closer inspection, they saw neither the vibrant land nor the Chaos Serpent, nor the nascent Uxthar Tree. And, of course, there was no sign of the Origin Deity.

"The Origin Deity is inside," Youyu declared with a huff, releasing a multitude of Shadow Moon Essence that twinkled like fireflies as they soared toward the enigmatic Star of Wonder. "I'll scout ahead."

"Be careful," Yu Yuan cautioned.

A sense of foreboding weighed heavily on him, as if the Star of Wonder concealed a profound terror. If the Origin Deity was indeed present and had unraveled the star's mysteries, they could all be subjected to the violent rending of space magic upon entry.

The space magic inherent to this star far surpassed that of the Voidweaver. In the hands of the Origin Deity, it could pose an immense threat.

Boom! Boom! Boom! The Shadow Moon Essence, resembling fireflies, landed on the star and transformed into spectral forms of Youyu, each diving into a different deep cavern. Yet, they were obliterated at the entrance of each cave.

Youyu's brow furrowed as he advised, "Let's not rush to land."
