C1740 The Mysterious Shehun

The voice was velvety and rich, as intoxicating as a fine wine that left listeners in a heady daze.

The will at the source of the Yin Vein was unexpectedly subdued by this individual, losing its grip on the tributary.

Since the man had declared that he had located Wei Zhuo beyond the heavens, Yu Yuan, Zu Ann, and Qin Luo felt as though Wei Zhuo was already securely within his grasp.

Wei Zhuo, having fused with the Primordial Spirit and forged the essence of a Divine Throne, seemed on the verge of being stripped of it by this man.

Whoosh!

It wasn't just the tributary of the Yin Vein; even the will of the Yin Vein enshrouded within the mist-like river manifested by the Star Race's bloodline above the Plover Realm was overshadowed by him.

The source of the Yin Vein, one of the most ancient and enigmatic entities in the cosmos, was surprisingly unable to withstand this man's power.

Everyone was profoundly shaken.

"Sect Master Lin, please wait for me just a moment."

His voice traveled from the outer space of the Plover Realm to the vicinity of the Galaxy Crossing, allowing Lin Daoke to hear it distinctly.

All within the Plover Realm, those outside, and even onlookers from afar heard this peculiar voice.

Lin Daoke looked up toward the source of the soft and mellow voice, his eyes showing a hint of surprise before he gently nodded in assent.

He promptly acquiesced to the man's plea.

Yue Mu, Van Heqing, and others discreetly shifted their expressions, gazing in astonishment at the quivering Denise and the enigmatic misty star.

They were aware that the Misty Muslin concealed the will of the Yin Vein's origin and that Denise had become a disciple of the Yin Vein.

Who could wrest a branch from the Yin Vein and transform it into a conduit for communication?

In the Boundless Great World, at least, no one seemed capable. Not even the likes of Demon Phoenix or Tan Xiaotian possessed such power.

"Taishi has finally persuaded him."

The youthful-looking Divine King Tai Xu, upon hearing the strange, velvety voice, slowly revealed a look of delight.

Jiaang Miaojie's eyes sparkled as she exclaimed, "He sure carries himself with an air!"

"He's currently the strongest, so a bit of arrogance is to be expected," Tai Xu said with a smile.

"Soul Divine King!"

"He's the most enigmatic of them all!"

"Despite my dealings with the Divine Soul Sect, I've only ever known his name; I've never laid eyes on the man himself!"

"Is he gearing up for a showdown with Lin Daoke?"

In a shadowy recess of the Oblivion Starfield, several peak warriors from various races were utterly astonished.

They hadn't anticipated that the most mysterious Soul Divine King would assert control over the will of the Yin Meridians and issue a challenge to Lin Daoke across vast distances.

Lin Daoke had accepted the challenge without hesitation.

"Soul Divine King..."

Beyond the Boundless Great World, Youyu rubbed his chin, gazing at the river that had turned into a mix of clarity and murkiness, forcibly reeled back to the Spectral Palace by Youyu.

Yu Yuan had learned from Yuv Qian that Taishi had personally visited the Divine Soul Sect's private domain to request the presence of the most mysterious Soul Divine King.

It appeared that Shehun was reluctant to return to the Boundless Great World and did not endorse an alliance with the Chamber of Commerce.

This was precisely why he had remained unseen, not joining forces with Taishi as Tianqi and Taixu had done early on.

Taixu had also made it clear that Shehun had forged a new Divine King's path, not treading the old paths to enlightenment.

Those who carve out new Divine Paths and cultivate a Primordial Spirit in the Outland Star River are undoubtedly of exceptional talent.

Shehun had just validated this point.

His position was certainly beyond the source of the Yin Meridian, yet he managed to overpower it and claim ownership of the river right under Youyu's nose.

Furthermore, he used the river as a conduit to convey his intentions with precision.

First, he eliminated Wai Zhuo, seizing his essence, and then set his sights on challenging Lin Daoke in the Plover Realm!

"Incredible."

Zu Ann, clutching the Skywatch Mirror, stepped back, seemingly catching a trace of evidence, and remarked admiringly, "The Soul Divine King's methods appear to have eclipsed the source of the Yin Meridian in the Boundless Great World. His influence extends beyond, claiming several other Yin Meridian tributaries for himself."

"Claimed for himself?" Qin Luo was taken aback.

Yu Yuan abruptly turned his attention to Youyu.

With the Yin Qi streams no longer in sight and the Spectral Palace slowly settling into place, Youyu, seated atop it, furrowed his brow and said, "Apart from the Epitaxial Realm, it has two other, more concealed branches, which have indeed temporarily severed their connection with it."

"You can actually see it?"

That last question was directed at Zu Ann.

"Old Monster Zu! You?" Qin Luo was equally astonished.

He had assumed that Zu Ann's power to observe the vast tapestry of human existence was confined to Ascension Peak, where he could witness the ebb and flow of mortal lives. He believed that once Zu Ann left the Boundless Great World, his magical abilities would be lost.

Who would have guessed that Old Monster Zu could still perceive secrets of the supreme Primordial Spirits in the Outland Star River, secrets that even the Divine Soul Sect couldn't access?

"When luck is on my side, I can catch glimpses," Zu Ann replied evasively.

"It demands that the Divine Soul Sect provide an explanation afterward," Youyu whispered.

"Oh, then it can seek out Shehun," Yu Yuan said, the corner of his mouth curling slightly. He suddenly realized that the Soul Divine King, whom he had never encountered, might have the ability to restrain the Yin Meridian to some extent.

The source of the Yin Meridian felt a sense of powerlessness when it lost three tributaries and fell under the will of the Soul Divine King.

"Hmm!"

Zu Ann's eyebrows lifted as he formed a drop of blood on his fingertip, which shone with a radiant light. He pressed it onto the Skywatch Mirror and commanded, "Open!"

Within the mirror, an image that only Zu Ann could clearly see emerged for a fleeting moment.

The Profound Dao Flag in Han Miaoyuan's firm grip fluttered as if stirred by an unseen wind, and the human leader's face darkened suddenly.

Yu Yuan didn't experience any unusual sensation, yet he sensed that a significant event had unfolded, one beyond his perception.

"Wai Zhuo is dead."

With a complex look, Zu Ann shifted his gaze from the Skywatch Mirror and announced, "He perished at the edge of a Starry Forbidden Ground. The Thunder Divine Pool he had been refining plummeted into it upon his death, as if seized by something. His essence appeared briefly before being stripped away and assimilated."

"The person responsible is difficult to discern, but it's likely Shehun."

What Han Miaoyuan might not have known was that Zu Ann, with the aid of the Skywatch Mirror, could see any beings from the Boundless Great World or those imbued with its essence, provided he was willing to pay a certain price.

Lin Daoke, Tan Xiaotian, Loong Jie, Jee Ningshuang, the Desolate God, and others—no matter their location across the cosmos, Zu Ann had the potential to see them, should he choose to sacrifice a portion of his blood essence.

He didn't need to expend his blood essence to observe those below the rank of Demon God; a bit more soul force and spirit energy were sufficient.

This was the essence of his Great Dao.

Because of this, he was aware of two hidden branches of the Yin Meridians in the heavens beyond the Boundless Great World.

Only in places like the Gray Domain, where the primordial Dao laws reigned supreme, or in certain areas of the Starry Forbidden Ground that were even more unique than the Boundless Great World, was his vision obscured.

Thus, he was unaware of what had transpired with Yu Yuan, Youyu, and the others in the Gray Domain. Yet, he had indeed felt the disturbance when Wei Zhuo was intercepted and killed after failing to enter that particular starry region.

"Wai Zhuo is dead," Han Miaoyuan lamented with a heavy sigh.

"If the Primordial Spirit of the Divine Soul Sect needs the enhancement of the Origin to be flawless, then..." Zu Ann mused, his expression growing complex, "Tianqi might also require an extra dose of the Origin. The same goes for Taishi and the Divine Kings without the support of the Origin."

"What are you implying?" Yu Yuan inquired, puzzled.

"Your presence, along with your forcing Wei Zhuo beyond the heavens, likely spared the Starfrost Sword from disaster. If not, Shehun might have first sought out Sword Immortal Jee." Zu Ann openly expressed his concerns, laying bare the facts, "I believe the Divine Kings have been delaying their journey to the Plover Realm because they're waiting for the right Origin."

"Tan Xiaotian is a tough nut to crack. Loong Jie and Zhong Chichen have reached the Gray Domain, and with Zhong Chichen's mastery of spatial powers, he's not an easy target either. Meanwhile, all the living Demon Gods are by the side of the Supreme Demon Phoenix, deeply entrenched in the Fallen Realm, making them equally challenging to eliminate."

"They were likely indecisive, and the most probable focus of their hesitation was Sword Immortal Jee."

"The option of Wei Zhuo leaving gave them an alternative. So, by persuading Wei Zhuo to seek refuge beyond the heavens, I inadvertently sent him on a path to his demise," Zu Ann confessed with a tinge of remorse.

Yu Yuan felt a sinking sensation in his heart.
