C1815 They Watched the Demon Blade Leave

No one would believe that the Demon Phoenix was fleeing at this moment—despite her injuries and her decision to depart from the Dim Starfield. The reason was simple: after Yu Yuan's Yang God suffered severe damage and was dragged into the Origin Blood Continent by the frigid ice rock, the Demon Phoenix had no rivals left in the Dim Starfield.

She refrained from launching an assault on the Origin Blood Continent, possibly due to concerns about the extreme cold and the unpredictable nature of the Origin Blood. Her departure was not out of fear of Taishi, the Space-time Dragon Zhong Chichen, or Reid.

In such a vast Starfield, where she faced no opposition, her leaving could hardly be considered an escape. All anyone could do was watch as she and the grand Phoenix Shrine made their departure.

Hundreds of thousands of great demons and alien beasts had already vanished through the fissures. Thus, in the dark expanse of space, only the Phoenix Shrine remained, drifting forlornly towards the outer Milky Way.

Thousands of miniature purple phoenixes danced through the air, cursing and muttering as they flew towards the shrine. They merged together, intent on reconstituting into a new Demon Phoenix.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Taishi and the Devaputra Pontiff Reid also emerged from the Origin Blood Continent in quick succession, standing by Yu Yuan's true form just as the Space-time Dragon Zhong Chichen did. They were aware, even before their departure, that Yu Yuan's gravely wounded Yang God was safeguarded by the subterranean chill, much like the protection given to Jee Ningshuang.

Seeing Yu Yuan's true form remaining composed outside the starry sky, Taishi understood that his Yang God was intact. Despite his injuries, Yu Yuan's life was not at risk.

"She?" Taishi gazed at the Phoenix Shrine, his words trailing off.

The strength the Demon Phoenix had shown was even greater than before, weighing heavily on Taishi's spirit and increasing the pressure he felt.

"Touching the Demon Phoenix in her current state is a death sentence," Zhong Chichen remarked, his expression dark. He harbored no desire to pursue her, instead offering a wry smile. "An injured Demon Phoenix will lash out desperately when provoked by external forces. In her current condition... there's no one equipped to handle her, at least for now."

As he spoke, the Space-time Dragon's gaze shifted to Yu Yuan, thinking that they would have to wait for him to take action.

Yu Yuan astonishingly managed to wound the Demon Phoenix, causing it to bleed across the starry sky!

Without having fully awakened or having crafted a new divine position with his Primordial Spirit, and relying solely on the favor of the Yang God's blood within the unique environment of the Dim Starfield, Yu Yuan inflicted damage upon the Demon Phoenix.

Zhong Chichen found it hard to believe. His mind raced with thoughts as he regarded Yu Yuan with newfound awe.

"Let's wait a bit longer."

A hopeful flame seemed to ignite in his eyes, his blood boiling with anticipation.

The Nagas despised the Demon Phoenix above all.

The Space-time Dragon, having been resurrected not without great effort, had vowed from the moment of his deification to annihilate the Demon Phoenix and avenge the downfall of the Naga.

Yet, despite his deep hatred for the Demon Phoenix, he was forced to remain composed, aware that his chances of victory were slim.

In his heart, he doubted that even Loong Jie at his pinnacle could handle the Demon Phoenix.

Ultimately, they might still have to depend on Yu Yuan.

...

"Greetings!"

The Sky Tiger, as imposing as a mountain, gave a nod to the Desolate God and Lvliu but refrained from further comment. Instead, it transformed into a beam of snow-white light, racing toward the Phoenix Shrine.

It was aware that the Desolate God and Lvliu's allegiance to the Demon Palace was not genuine, motivated only by the Demon Phoenix's lure of immortality and the Blood Devil Clan's invasion of the Dim Starfield.

With the situation evolving into a confrontation between the Demon Phoenix and Yu Yuan, the stances of the Old Ape and Lvliu had long since shifted.

The Old Ape and Lvliu, the Demon Gods, had refrained from kicking an enemy while down. To the Sky Tiger, this was a display of integrity.

"Bai, take care. No one knows her intentions, and I have a bad feeling about this. Stay vigilant and don't get yourself caught up in it," the Desolate God cautioned.

The Sky Tiger remained silent.

"Mr. Zhong... Mr. Zhong."

Taishi shifted his focus from the Phoenix Shrine back to Zhong Chichen and said, "Please, could you make haste to the Winged Race's Starfield and inform the clansmen loyal to the Secular Bird Queen that the Demon Phoenix may be seeking them out?"

"Hehe."

Zhong Chichen gave a hollow laugh. He wasn't particularly interested in what Taishi had to say, so he had no intention of following orders.

"Senior Brother, you should make your way there as soon as you can!" Yu Yuan suggested, smiling.

"Oh." Zhong Chichen immediately acquiesced.

"I know you don't want to see the Demon Phoenix grow any stronger."

Yu Yuan cleared his throat and turned his gaze toward the Origin Blood Continent.

He could distinctly sense his Yang God, gravely wounded by the Demon Phoenix, assuming its original form resembling a stalactite within a massive sphere of ice.

Within each Crimson Prisma, the Divine Lightning of Blood, fractured by the Demon Phoenix, was in the process of reconnecting.

The Yang God's recovery to its former state would take time, and he needed to assimilate the extraordinary insights gained from the battle, integrating the myriad of blood techniques he had captured.

Yet, even now, he was astounded by the Demon Phoenix's might.

He had not anticipated that, despite deploying every tactic at his disposal, hastily invoking that extreme cold power, and employing the covert laws of the Dim Starfield to contain her, he still couldn't trap the Demon Phoenix, who managed to shatter through the successive seals.

When the Demon Phoenix broke free, her purple blood sprinkled across the cosmos, indicating she too was wounded.

But the extent of her injuries remained a mystery, beyond his or anyone else's ability to gauge.

He refrained from pursuing her because the Phoenix Shrine housed not only Yu Zhu but also numerous other horrors beyond his detection and comprehension.

His instincts warned him that, with his Yang God severely compromised and situated far from the Origin Blood Continent, even if his true form in the Dim Starfield marshaled the combined forces of Taishi, Zhong Chichen, and Reid, a relentless pursuit could spell disaster...

Should the battlefield shift from the Dim Starfield, all pursuers would be inviting catastrophe upon themselves!

The Demon Phoenix was correct; had the battlefield been elsewhere, without his novel Yang God and the aid of the extreme cold, he stood no chance against her.

Moreover, it seemed his Yang God had sustained even greater damage than the Demon Phoenix.

The most prudent course of action was to swiftly assimilate all he had gleaned from the Yang Meridian, blending the various blood techniques and vital forces, to ensure his Yang God's resurgence would elevate him to new heights.

"Why is she so desperate to kill the Secular Bird Queen?" Reid asked, astonished.

"Whether it's a personal vendetta or something else, if she manages to slay the Secular Bird Queen, her power will climb even higher," Zhong Chichen said, casting a glance at Yu Yuan, as he began to grasp the implications of Taishi's words. "Alright, I'll make a quick trip to the Winged Race's Starfield to ensure the Secular Bird Queen is forewarned."

"Let her... stay out of harm's way for now," Yu Yuan sighed.

Having engaged in direct combat with the Supreme Demon Phoenix, Yu Yuan had truly come to understand the fearsome energy of the Demon Phoenix.

He also realized why Lin Daoke and Tan Xiaotian had to join forces when the humans clashed with the Demon Phoenix—alone, they seemed no match for it.

"Understood."

Without further ado, Zhong Chichen, enveloped in a rainbow glow, vanished before their eyes.

A prismatic light streaked through the fissure in the Origin Blood Continent in just a moment.

"She may possess another form... a monstrous Demon Body akin to a giant beast. Within that dense purple demonic energy, there's a massive creature infused with her life force and demonic power," Yu Yuan revealed abruptly.

"Ah!" Reid exclaimed in shock.

Desolate God and Lvliu, the two Demon Gods, had also gathered around. Old Ape arrived just in time to catch Yu Yuan's revelation, his face turning pale with shock. "My heavens! What has that madwoman been concocting in the Phoenix Shrine? She's been wandering the heavens all year, with only a Demon Soul in the Demon Palace. Is she creating a new body?"

Yu Yuan shook his head, indicating his uncertainty.

"She's far more powerful and enigmatic than I imagined," Old Ape reflected, his gaze naturally drifting towards the shrine. "I have this nagging feeling that she's kept many secrets from us."

"Isn't that obvious?" Taishi retorted with an eye roll.

At that moment, Lvliu respectfully bowed to Taishi in thanks.

His seat among the Demon Gods had been significantly supported by the Divine Soul Sect, and with Taishi now at its helm, it was only proper for him to show his appreciation.

Taishi dismissed the gesture with a wave of his hand and turned to Yu Yuan, "Is that beast-like Demon Body truly hers?"

"I didn't see her true face, but it felt that way," Yu Yuan said.

As they discussed, the Phoenix Shrine sped through the void, leaving the Dim Starfield at the speed of light, vanishing from everyone's sight and senses.

All the fluttering phoenix shadows had already caught up with the shrine, merging into it one by one.

For some reason, when the Phoenix Shrine was no longer visible, everyone's mood didn't lighten; it grew heavier instead.

No one knew what madness the Demon Phoenix might unleash next or what kind of turmoil it would cause.

"I need to return to the Heavenly Demon Sacred Land first."

High Priest Reid let out a weary sigh, his expression lacking any trace of vigor.

He reached out toward the Origin Blood Continent, tracing a complex Demon Talisman in the air, regardless of the unfolding events here.

Ninth Level Demon Gods like Mitts and Adler, along with many Devaputras who had followed the High Priest, emerged one after another.

"Please allow us to return."

Reid's other hand pointed toward a secret location in the distant cosmos.

There, a hidden passage existed, a way for Reid and the other Outland Devaputras to return home.

Yu Yuan nodded, "Fair winds."

"After some time, I'll personally visit the Plover Realm to pay respects to your Divine Soul Sect." Reid expressed his thanks and then hesitated before adding, "That is, if the Plover Realm still exists within the Oblivion Starfield by then."

With those words, he led the Outland Devaputras who had come to aid the Dim Starfield and withdrew before Yu Yuan's eyes.

"What's the situation over there?" the Desolate God inquired.

"The fight between Lin Daoke and Shehun is still ongoing, with no clear winner yet," Taishi clarified.

Old Ape expressed his respect, marveling, "I never imagined that within your Divine Soul Sect, there would truly be someone capable of standing against Lin Daoke in battle. I had assumed you'd all be slain by his sword in a single stroke."
