C1826 Everyone Was in Danger

The Levi River surged behind Han Qi, its yellow waters transforming the dim starry sky into a realm where malevolent spirits roamed—the Wraithlands. The river was not tangible but an ethereal mist that could nonetheless influence the souls of all beings.

Yu Yuan's sword thrust from the Dragon Slaying Stage was swept away by the river's current, failing to reach the polished stone slab. The wall-less palace was suddenly shrouded in an air of mystery, as if it had morphed into the Wraithlands of the Annihilation Nebula, presiding over the cycles of life and death.

"Halt!" Han Qi commanded, hovering above the Levi River, his voice carrying to all.

The Lunar Spirits of the human race were suddenly trapped within a blood-yellow light, their freedom seemingly curtailed. Even the ninth level Otherkin warriors found their spirits enveloped in the same eerie glow, except for Rebecca and Brie, who had attained the tenth level.

Mournful cries echoed as ghost after ghost sprang forth from the blood-yellow waters. They did not assault the living but instead vanished into the distance, companions in the afterlife.

These were the ancient souls of diverse extraterrestrial races. Shura, Stoneborn, and many from the Starborn and Moonlit Wanderers, now as spirited bodies, bore expressionless faces yet moved with purpose towards the Dead Stars of the Annihilation Nebula.

To their eyes, the stars, now wall-less ruins, still bore the semblance of buildings and palaces. They roamed the barren landscapes as if they had dwelled there for eons, with some souls laboring diligently, others mining ores, and yet others sitting in meditation, honing their bloodlines...

This eerie tableau stunned all the cultivators who had come to witness it, their Lunar Spirit power ebbing away. It also bewildered the many Otherkin experts present.

"They..." Rebecca, an enchantress of the evilkind, watched in silence before letting out a sigh. She turned to the somber Shadowkin patriarch and asked, "Brie, have you discerned anything?"

Brie responded with a wry smile and a nod.

"They once lived in the Annihilation Nebula, a hundred thousand years ago," Rebecca revealed.

"A hundred thousand years ago!" Yu Yuan's mind was involuntarily filled with the image of extraterrestrial races' mightiest warriors besieging the Secular Bird Queen.

The Secular Bird Queen, a harbinger of death and destruction, laid waste to the galaxies in her path, ultimately reaching the Annihilation Nebula.

Unexpectedly, the beings that inhabited the Annihilation Nebula a hundred thousand years ago were caught in the wake of this destructive power.

Nearly all perished in the catastrophe.

Their residual souls were seemingly collected by a mysterious force within the Wraithlands and submerged into the depths of the Levi River.

A hundred thousand years later, that same power from the Wraithlands utilized Han Qi, the God of Ghosts, to return the souls of the various races that once dwelled in the Annihilation Nebula.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The blood-red river, like a drifting cloud, began to spread throughout the Annihilation Nebula.

The entire realm, influenced by the energies of Han Qi and the Levi River, was on the brink of becoming a mysterious and fearsome place akin to the Land of Terror.

In this transformation, the Lunar Spirits of the Everlands' humans were also drawn into the Levi River.

The same fate befell the Otherkin, excluding the Sky Fiend and the Cosmic Giant Beast.

"Mr. Lin."

Inside the Levi River, Han Qi greeted Lin Daoke, "I'm not acting on Old Han's orders, but Old Han has struck a deal with an entity from the Wraithlands. I will return to the Everlands to oversee the reincarnation cycle, ensuring the Lunar Meridian that fled the Wraithlands is returned."

"The humans of the Everlands can't remain an exception forever. They, too, should be linked to the Wraithlands, just like the extraterrestrial beings."

"Oh, and remember, the Wraithlands aren't just about ghosts and spirits. It's a transitional hub, serving the souls of this realm."

"Take a closer look!"

With the spread of the blood-yellow river, the long-dead stars of the Annihilation Nebula began to form faint yellow barriers.

The cleansed souls of the Otherkin, now pure spirit orbs, lay hidden deep within the stars, like seeds of nascent souls, awaiting the moment to sprout and evolve.

The Wraithlands gather lost souls and disperse soul seeds. What happens at the Root of the Lunar Meridian in the Land of Terror, when viewed on a larger scale, mirrors the actions of those who serve within the Wraithlands.

Apart from the Sky Fiend and cosmic giant beasts, traces of the Wraithlands can be found among all the major intelligent lifeforms throughout the vastness of space.

Han Qi clarified Lin Daoke's doubts.

Lin Daoke, not particularly adept at contemplation, remained unresponsive after hearing Han Qi's explanation, his expression still one of bewilderment.

Yu Yuan, however, immediately recalled the vision he had seen at the Root of the Solar Meridian.

The Solar Meridian had also arrived from the world of the Beast God during the chaotic beginnings of this world, sowing blood crystals that led to the emergence of countless alien beasts.

Could it be that the entity in the Wraithlands that aided Han Qi in becoming a God of Ghosts had undertaken a similar endeavor?

Was it responsible for creating the various Otherkin species beyond our world?

How were the Sky Fiend, cosmic giant beasts, the Human Race's Solar Spirits, and primordial spirits able to break free?

"Mr. Han should explain it to me."

Standing in the vast hall, Lin Daoke seemed unaffected by the loss of some of his Lunar Spirit's Soul Power. He looked directly at Han Qi within the Levi River and stated candidly, "I don't trust you."

"The time isn't right yet," Han Qi replied with regret.

"It's just a God of Ghosts, after all."

Kaiya, who had been silent, allowed her purple eyes to shine with an unusual light. She glanced at Yu Yuan and said nonchalantly, "What a letdown. If it weren't for Han Qi's meddling, I was confident I could have depleted Mr. Lin's sword strength."

She sighed, "It's clear to me now that Han Qi, the Levi River, and the Sword Prison have all come for me."

With a gentle nudge of her shoulder against Yu Yuan, who looked at her in astonishment, she continued, "Lin Daoke and those dullards from the Sword Sect are now your and Taishi's responsibility. I'll fulfill Han Qi's wish and do you a favor by visiting the Wraithlands to meet Youyu. Besides, I had always intended to delve into the Wraithlands to uncover its mysteries. It was only a matter of time before I went."

Whoosh!

Having achieved the rank of God-King in the extraterrestrial realms, the Soul-Capturing stretched contentedly after finishing his speech.

He then swiftly made his way toward the Levi River.

The sky, teeming with specters and innumerable greenish-black demonic flowers, seemed to root themselves in the blood-red river as she descended upon the Levi River.

The river's flow came to an abrupt halt, and the power within everyone's Lunar Spirit ceased, all due to her presence.

In the Wraithlands, she immediately engaged in combat with Han Qi.

Puff! Puff! Puff!

The blood-yellow light barrier, which had enveloped the human Lunar Spirits and the souls of the extraterrestrial experts, burst like bubbles.

Boom!

The palace trembled violently, the blood-yellow waters of the Levi River were retracted within seconds, and the shadows of the ghosts vanished without a trace.

Before long, all that remained was a desolate palace, with no trace of the stone door depicting the Levi River or Han Qi.

The eerie scene that had unfolded seemed like a fleeting nightmare of the Wraithlands encroaching upon the Annihilation Nebula, as if it had never truly occurred.

It was simply that the Soul-Capturing God-King had chosen to confront Han Qi in the Wraithlands after his battle with Lin Daoke.

"Han Qi came specifically for her."

After a considerable pause, Taishi was the first to break the silence. "Mr. Lin, is Han Miaoyuan afraid that you would lose? Otherwise, why send Han Qi to create chaos?"

Lin Daoke shook his head. "I would not have lost. Even without his interference, I could have uncovered the true soul of the Soul-Capturing God-King."

As Taishi was about to scoff, Lin Daoke's expression turned icy as he fixed his gaze on the figures that had departed from Ionodios and now hovered before him.

"I have made it clear that no one is permitted to leave Ionodios until they have bested me."

"The law of Ionodios is simple: entry is permitted, but exit is not."

Lin Daoke's sword's will flared anew.

Those who had fled Ionodios, defying his edict, suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.

Brie of the Shadowkin, clutching the Azurewood Sceptre and poised to flee, was the first to feel the piercing touch of Lin Daoke's sword's will, sending shivers through him as if he had plunged into an icy abyss.

With a swift slash, a sword light capable of annihilating the heavens and earth pursued Brie, who appeared to be lost in a secret forest beyond the stars. As he dispersed his bloodline, the towering ancient trees he had conjured shattered in an instant.

Brie screamed in agony, "Lord Taishi, please save me!"

Jun Chen, Zhou You, Sky Fiend Youqian, and other formidable individuals felt the threat to their own safety.
