C1826 Everyone Was in Danger

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Blood-yellow waters surged from behind Han Qi at the Grim River, transforming the dim starry sky into a realm rampant with malevolent spirits.

The river was illusory, a mere wisp of smoke that could nevertheless influence the souls of all beings.

Yu Yuan's sword thrust from the Dragon Slash Platform was swept away by the river's current, failing to reach the polished stone slab.

The open hall was suddenly shrouded in mystery, as if it had become the somber palace of the Oblivion Starfield, presiding over the cycle of life and death.

"Halt!"

Han Qi, hovering over the Grim River, commanded everyone with a forceful shout.

The Yin Gods of humanity were suddenly cloaked in a blood-yellow light, their freedom seemingly constrained.

Excluding Tenth Level practitioners like Rebecca and Brie, the souls of the Ninth Level warriors from other races were also encased in the same blood-yellow light.

Woo! Woo!

One after another, Yin souls burst forth from the blood-yellow river. They didn't attack the living; instead, they appeared and swiftly departed together.

These were the ancient spirits from various celestial clans.

Among them were Asuras, members of the Rock Clan, and numerous individuals from the Star Race and Mondnacht Clan. Now as spectral entities, they bore stoic expressions but navigated with ease to certain desolate stars within the Oblivion Starfield.

To them, the stars, now devoid of barriers and reduced to rubble, seemed to still host grand buildings and palaces.

They roamed the barren landscapes as if they had dwelled there for generations, some spirits toiling diligently, others mining ores, and some sitting in quiet contemplation, honing their bloodlines...

This eerie tableau astonished all the cultivators who had come to witness it, their Yin God power ebbing away.

It also included a host of formidable beings from various races.

"They..."

Rebecca of the Banshee Clan watched silently for a moment before letting out a melancholic sigh. Turning to the Dark Elfkind chieftain, she asked, "Brie, have you discerned anything?"

Brie responded with a wry smile and a nod.

"They once lived in the Oblivion Starfield, a hundred thousand years ago," Rebecca revealed the truth.

"A hundred thousand years ago!"

Images of Peak warriors from different races banding together to besiege the Secular Bird Queen flooded Yu Yuan's mind.

The Secular Bird Queen, leaving a trail of death and destruction in her wake, razed starfields one by one until she reached the Oblivion Starfield.

Unexpectedly, the beings who lived in the Oblivion Starfield a hundred thousand years ago were caught in the devastating forces of death and destruction.

Nearly all perished in the catastrophe.

The lingering souls of the deceased seemed to be collected by a mysterious entity within Horror Land and consigned to the depths of the Grim River.

A century later, the power of Horror Land, through the agency of Han Qi, resurrected the souls from the Grim River, returning them to the Oblivion Starfield.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The blood-yellow river, like billowing clouds, began to spread throughout the Oblivion Starfield.

Starting from that grand palace, the vast Oblivion Starfield was gradually tainted by the influence of Han Qi and the Grim River, on the verge of becoming a mysterious and forbidding place akin to Horror Land.

In this process, the Yin Gods of the Boundless Human Race still had their souls drawn into the Grim River.

The same fate befell the other races, aside from the Devaputras and the Starry Behemoths.

"Sect Master Lin."

Inside the Grim River, Han Qi reached out to Lin Daoke, "I'm not acting on Elder Han's orders, but Elder Han has struck a deal with an entity from the Horror Land. I'm returning to the Boundless Human Race to oversee the return of the Yin Meridians that fled from the Horror Land, and I will take charge of the life and death cycles of the Boundless Human Race."

"The Boundless Human Race can't remain an exception forever. They should be linked to the Horror Land, just like all other beings beyond our realm."

"Oh, and remember, the Horror Land isn't just about ghosts and Yin Spirits. It's a transitional space, serving the beings of our world."

"Take a closer look!"

As the blood-yellow river continued to spread, stars within the Stars Realm that had been dormant for a hundred thousand years began to form dim yellow barriers.

On these barrier-protected stars, the souls of the deceased foreign races, cleansed by the Grim River, transformed into pure soul orbs.

They lay hidden deep within the starry earth, like seeds of nascent souls, awaiting the moment to germinate and evolve.

"The Horror Land not only gathers lost souls but also disperses soul seeds. The origin of the Yin Meridians in Horror Land, as seen in the Boundless Human Race, is akin to the work done by my followers in the Horror Land."

"Except for the Devaputra and the Starry Behemoth, traces of the Demon Realm can be found among all the intelligent races across the vast expanse of the starry sky."

Han Qi clarified Lin Daoke's doubts.

Lin Daoke, not one to ponder deeply, showed no reaction after hearing the explanation, remaining lost in his thoughts.

Yu Yuan, however, immediately recalled the vision he had witnessed at the source of the Yang Meridian.

During the chaotic era of this world, the Yang Meridian had traveled from the world of the Beast God, sowing the seeds of the Blood Crystal and giving rise to countless alien beasts.

Could it be that the Demon Realm, which aided Han Qi in becoming a Ghost God, had undertaken a similar endeavor?

Was it responsible for the creation of the extraterrestrial races?

How had the Devaputra, the Starry Behemoth, the Yang God, and the Primordial Spirit of the Boundless Human Race managed to break free?

"Senior Han should explain it to me."

Standing in the vast hall, Lin Daoke seemed unaffected by the loss of his Yin God's soul force. He stared at Han Qi within the Grim River and stated frankly, "I don't trust you."

"The time has not yet come," Han Qi replied with regret.

"Just a Ghost God, after all."

After a moment of silence, Andrea's purple eyes sparkled with an unusual glow. She glanced at Yu Yuan and remarked nonchalantly, "What a letdown. If Han Qi hadn't interfered, if he hadn't revealed my true identity to Sect Master Lin, I was confident I could have depleted all of Sect Master Lin's sword energy."

She sighed, "It's clear to me now. Han Qi, the Ghost God, the Grim River, and the Sword Prison—they're all targeting me."

She gave Yu Yuan a gentle nudge with her shoulder.

Yu Yuan looked back at her, bewildered.

"As for Lin Daoke and the woodenheads of the Sword Sect, I'll leave them to you and Taishi. I'm fulfilling Han Qi's wish, and in a way, doing you a favor by visiting the Demon Realm to check on Youyu. Besides, I had planned to delve into the Demon Realm eventually to unravel its mysteries; it was only a matter of time."

With a contented stretch, Shehun, who had ascended to Divine King beyond the heavens, finished speaking.

Suddenly, she propelled herself toward the Grim River.

Demonic shadows and innumerable greenish-black demonic flowers appeared to root themselves in the blood-yellow waters of the Grim River the moment she touched down.

The river's flow came to an abrupt halt, and the power within everyone's Yin Gods ceased as she passed.

Inside the Grim River, she instantly clashed with Han Qi and the ghosts in a certain part of the Demon Domain.

Puff! Puff! Puff!

The blood-yellow light that had enveloped the Yin Gods of the Human Race and the souls of the foreign powerhouses burst like bubbles.

Boom!

The palace trembled violently. The blood-yellow river that had been floating in the Grim River was retracted in mere seconds, and the shadows of the wandering souls vanished without a trace.

Before everyone's eyes, all that remained was a desolate palace, the stone door with the depiction of the Grim River gone.

Naturally, Han Qi was nowhere to be found.

The eerie scene from before, as if the Oblivion Starfield was seeping into reality, seemed nothing more than an unreal, fleeting nightmare, as though it had never occurred.

It was the Divine King Shehun who had left the battle with Lin Daoke to confront Han Qi in the Demon Realm.

"Han Qi came specifically for her," Taishi finally broke the silence after a lengthy pause. "Sect Master Lin, could Han Miaoyuan have been afraid of you losing? Why else would he send Han Qi to create chaos?"

Lin Daoke shook his head. "I wouldn't have lost. Even without his interference, I would have uncovered the true soul of Shehun."

Taishi was about to scoff when Lin Daoke's expression chilled, his gaze fixed on the figures that had departed the Plover Realm and now hovered before him.

"I've made it clear: until someone defeats me, no one is permitted to leave the Plover Realm."

"The rule of the Plover Realm is simple: entry is permitted, but exit is not."

Lin Daoke's sword intent reignited fiercely.

Those who had fled the Plover Realm, disregarding his decree, suddenly felt a chill run down their spines.

Brie from the Dark Elfkind, clutching the Mighty Truncheon, attempted to flee, but a strand of Lin Daoke's sword intent struck him first, sending a shiver through him as if he had plunged into a cavern of ice.

With a swift slash, a sword light capable of cleaving the heavens and obliterating the earth pursued Brie, who appeared to be ensconced within a celestial thicket. The towering ancient trees he had conjured with his bloodline shattered in an instant.

Brie let out a gut-wrenching scream, "Primordial Divine King, please save me!"

Jun Chen, You Qian, and other formidable figures were gripped by a sense of imminent danger.
