C1847 The Nest of the Dragon
A wisp of Jihui's soul, having split from the original, gazed up at the Phoenix Shrine alongside a Blood Fiend warrior inhabited by Yu Yuan.
The Darkpinion was teeming with tens of thousands of ghosts, among which Jihui's soul could manifest at will.
Thus, this particular wisp of soul went largely unnoticed.
Likewise, Yu Yuan, who had imparted a fragment of his will into Tschick, was not someone to be regarded with much concern in the current state of the Darkpinion.
"Traversing between worlds."
Yu Yuan, now bearing the form and essence of a Blood Fiend, stared at the sealed doors with a hint of gravity in his demeanor.
"To my knowledge, when she first ventured into the other realm, you were her strategist. It was later that the Phoenix Shrine acquired the capability to traverse the two worlds."
The wisp of Jihui's soul, slightly disgruntled, spoke up, "She must have found some space magic in another world that could shatter the barriers between realms and applied it to the Phoenix Shrine. From that moment on, the shrine became a portal between the two worlds."
After a brief pause.
Jihui added, "The Phoenix Shrine and the Origin Realm are not the same. The Origin Realm serves as a bridge for the souls of both worlds, but it cannot facilitate the passage of physical bodies."
Yu Yuan was taken aback.
"The Primal Blood, or rather, the Primal Blood of this world, may not be unique. It might have once been singular, but now it has divided into multiple parts." He peered into Tschick's dark red eyes and continued, "The exalted ruler of the world with the Beast God, like you, like the ancient Titan Spinosaurus, also received the Primal Blood's blessing and was endowed with extraordinary powers."
"Of course, that's the Primal Blood from another world. Yet, it exists on the same plane as our world's Primal Blood."
"Perhaps... they were once a single entity."
"The Solar Meridian is its creation, a Bloody River carrying the Life Seed."
As the God-King Jihui from the ancient Everlands, who had concealed himself in the Abyss for tens of thousands of years, he possessed profound insights into the Abyss, this world, and even the realm where the Beast God roamed.
"Primal Blood isn't the only one?"
Yu Yuan's mind reeled from the revelation, his thoughts drifting to the mountain peak encircled by stars and the expansive plateau at its summit.
It was the domain of another world's sovereign.
Boom!
The Phoenix Shrine vibrated abruptly, its hue transforming into a stunning golden color.
Golden hoofprints manifested within the transformed Shrine, as if magical alien beasts were traversing the ripples of space, fervently making their way here.
Creak!
The long-sealed doors of the Shrine were pushed open from within.
Boom!
In an instant, as the doors swung open, the ghostly presence of Jihui dissipated into nothingness.
A flood of golden radiance poured from the Phoenix Shrine's doors. Tschick, inhabited by Yu Yuan, gazed up at the Shrine, resembling the abode of ancient deities, as his flesh began to ignite in the sacred glow.
He beheld a majestic golden deer stepping forth from the open Phoenix Shrine.
This was the final sight witnessed through Tschick's eyes.
After countless years, the Darkpinion Star Domain of this world finally welcomed its first tenth-level alien beast!
The golden deer had answered the call of the exalted Dark Phoenix!
"Phoenix Shrine!"
Yu Yuan, seated at the Abyssal Gate, trembled slightly, his brow furrowing.
"A Beast God from another world has officially descended upon the Darkpinion."
He turned to the Abyssal Greater Basilisk and spoke candidly, "The enigmatic golden deer you once saw is no longer just a phantom."
"Has it finally arrived?"
The Abyssal Greater Basilisk, now in the guise of the Silverscale Tribe elder, glanced at the Abyssal Gate and nodded. "First the Abyss, now this world. Since Bertain's departure, things have certainly become lively. It seems as though our world is now seen as an easy target."
"How did it get here?" the Abyssal Leviathan inquired urgently.
"Through the Phoenix Shrine."
Swoosh!
The Dragon Slaying Stage materialized beneath Yu Yuan's real body. Leaving the Solar Spirit to watch over the Abyssal Gate, he steered the Dragon Slaying Stage outwards.
"Where are you headed?" the little spinosaurus called out.
"To the battlefield."
Both Yu Yuans responded in unison.
...
Everlands, Godsblight Marsh.
A robust ape with thinning fur perched in an ancient tree, its gaze fixed on the Nest of Perdition nearby. This nest, once a gateway to the Greenshadow realm, had been sealed off recently, with no one able to activate it or communicate with the Wingkind of Greenshadow.
With a whoosh, Loong Jie materialized in his human form and touched down on the Nest of Perdition, causing the Marsh to quake beneath him. The sight of Loong Jie sent the ape into a panic, and it quickly scampered into the depths of the Marsh to report to the Untamed's only offspring.
Standing resolutely by the Nest of Perdition, Loong Jie flashed a grin and gestured reassuringly to the nearby members of the Skyreach Consortium, saying, "Don't worry, I'm just here to borrow a path for my journey."
Those from the Skyreach Consortium, who were managing a teleportation circle to facilitate faster travel to and from the Everlands for those using the Nest of Perdition, responded to Loong Jie's words with forced smiles and promptly sought guidance from their superiors.
Half an hour later, Zhong Chichen, adorned in flamboyant attire, arrived with Mo Baichuan on a rainbow cloud, halting beside the Nest of Perdition. Mo Baichuan, ever the picture of restraint, remained silent as usual.
Yet his presence in the Marsh made the air seem to ignite, heating the very breath of every archdemon and human cultivator around.
"The Darkpinion has been sealed by Jihui of the Boulderdawn Sect, rendering the space rules inoperable. The quickest route I can think of to reach Darkpinion is through this nest left by the Secular Bird Queen," Zhong Chichen explained with a smile.
Mo Baichuan gave a slight nod, his eyes ablaze with a fire that seemed capable of incinerating the Star River itself, exuding an aura of immense danger.
"Um, the nest's teleportation function is also down," Ho Zhan from the Skyreach Consortium chimed in from a distance, his smile awkward.
"That may be true for you. But naturally, I can still communicate with the Secular Bird Queen," Zhong Chichen replied with a nonchalant leap into the nest. He waved his hands, scattering brilliant streams of light that cascaded down like raindrops into the nest's interior.
With a tearing sound, the interior of the Nest of Perdition was immediately saturated with his space magic. His soul's consciousness traced a unique path, weaving through the cosmos.
Before long, he sensed the proximity of the Darkpinion realm.
"How does it look?"
Loong Jie watched him with eager anticipation, his gaze fixed on the glowing Nest of Perdition.
"Seven-Colored Dragon, have you been scheming to seek me out?"
The icy, piercing voice of the Highest Dark Phoenix emanated from the Nest of Perdition like a razor-sharp blade, lacerating Zhong Chichen, who was inside, in an instant.
The Nest of Perdition snapped shut.
The Chronowyrm, intent on taking Mo Baichuan and Loong Jie to the Darkpinion realm, had been ensnared by the Nest of Perdition as if caught in a web.
The nest's spear-like branches impaled Zhong Chichen's body. Even after he assumed the form of the Seven-Colored Dragon, he remained trapped.
Zhong Chichen screamed in agony as his dragon form began to shrivel, his flesh and blood swiftly draining away.
Meanwhile, in the Everlands.
Beneath the ruins of the Shadow's Keep in the northern part of the Land of Quiescence, a shadowy phoenix figure slowly materialized.
"Hall Master!"
"Dark Phoenix!"
All the Monster Lords of Everlands, as well as the human cultivators who practiced the evilkind's spells, prostrated themselves before the emerging phoenix demon shadow.
"Rainbow Sage!"
Loong Jie bellowed, transforming into the massive golden dragon.
His menacing form dominated the sky over the marsh, the brilliant golden scales dazzling onlookers from Aetherius who had gathered to witness the spectacle.
"Dark Phoenix!"
Mo Baichuan, brimming with battle readiness, called forth his furnace named "Serpentflame".
