C1877 Refining Lunar Spirit
The Mindscape was a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors.
Yu Yuan's Lunar Spirit gradually darkened, emanating a magnetic aura that rippled outward from its core. Once Wraithbinding was unleashed, it drew in all nearby Sky Fiends, souls, and ghosts, including the lingering spirits of Evil Gods.
If his Lunar Spirit were powerful enough to rival the God of Ghosts, like Youyu, even the Evil Gods from the Origin Realm, once caught in the Wraithbinding's magnetic field, would be drawn to him.
At that moment, the extraterrestrial ghosts from the Wraithlands, whether by choice or by force, gazed upon his Lunar Spirit with terror.
Youyu's generous nurturing of Yu Yuan left these Otherworldly spirits in utter despair, as they frantically sought to escape. Alas, since Youyu was the master of the Mindscape, their entry meant they had no say in their fate.
As Yu Yuan's Lunar Spirit processed and assimilated the incoming Shadow Energy and pure Soul Power, it was poised to ascend to the stature of a God of Ghosts, mercilessly vanquishing the new extraterrestrial souls.
Like throwing wood onto a fire, Youyu cast soul power, stripped of spiritual wisdom and memory, into the reach of Yu Yuan's Lunar Spirit—leaving it to be devoured and refined by him.
Hiss! Hiss!
Yu Yuan, swiftly refining his spirited body, felt an unparalleled lightness as he soared through the Mindscape, swift as lightning.
Gradually, the Mindscape, rich with shadow energy, seemed to merge with his Lunar Spirit.
"The Mindscape seems indeed to be partly my doing."
He acknowledged internally, recalling Youyu's assertion. He had been involved in the creation of this enigmatic sea of illusion since his first existence, with the Mirage of the Mind merely supplying the materials.
The purification and tempering of the Lunar Spirit proceeded according to the God of Ghosts' comprehensive cultivation system. With an inexhaustible supply of shadow energy and the continuous influx of pure Soul Power from Youyu, he wanted for nothing.
In the comforting expanse of the Mindscape, he lost himself in the cultivation of his Lunar Spirit, which glowed with a translucent cyan-black hue, becoming luminous and flawless.
The cool shadow energy coursed through the Lunar Spirit like water, cleansing away any impurities that could cloud the mind.
Over time, he reached a transcendent state of being, devoid of self, where he ceased to contemplate anything at all. Regardless of his location, he simply reveled in the transformative journey of his Lunar Spirit.
One day, having honed his Lunar Spirit to the Spectre level, he detected an oddly luminous object. An impulse to investigate struck him.
No sooner had the thought occurred than he traversed millions of miles to a dimly glowing orb.
The light, about the size of a fist, was vibrant and pulsated with a clear spatial undulation.
Clusters of ghostly souls from the extraterrestrial realm were emerging from the colorful flicker.
Upon witnessing his azure-black Lunar Spirit and the emanating waves of light and magnetic energy, the souls from the Wraithlands were irresistibly drawn to him.
He instantly realized that with the strengthening of his Lunar Spirit, the potency of his Wraithbinding had intensified.
In mid-flight, the ghostly souls abruptly disintegrated, seemingly snuffed out by Youyu's dominating force.
He absorbed the pure Soul Power and shadow energy with his Wraithbinding, further refining it within his Lunar Spirit.
He felt a profound sense of ease, as if he had been nourished by a hearty meal, and the power contained within his Lunar Spirit surged.
"That is the gateway to the Wraithlands."
Youyu's resonant voice echoed from the expanse of the Mindscape, "Once I conquer the Origin Realm and your Lunar Spirit ascends to the Ghost King, I will discuss Han Qi, the Soul-Capturing from Boulderdawn, and Han Miaoyuan with you."
"For now, don't be hasty to use this portal to enter the Wraithlands; your Lunar Spirit is still too fragile."
"In the Wraithlands, numerous Ghost Kings reside, not just Han Qi and myself, but two other Gods of Ghosts as well."
Youyu, without manifesting his spirited body, was attentively monitoring every action. Upon seeing that he had found his way here and discovered the entrance from the Mindscape to Youyu's realm, he quickly cautioned him to be cautious.
He feared that a reckless venture into the Wraithlands could lead to a fatal encounter with the formidable ghosts there, squandering the cultivation he had achieved in the Mindscape.
"Four Gods of Ghosts!" Yu Yuan was taken aback.
In the vast Everlands, within the Land of Terror, Youyu was the sole God of Ghosts to have emerged. This was a result of the burgeoning population, which, through relentless conflict and carnage, caused a multitude of lost souls to converge beneath the Land of Terror along the tributaries of the Lunar Meridian.
The Wraithlands could be considered the ultimate Land of Terror within the Star River, a final destination for the souls of the deceased from the extraterrestrial realms. It's only logical that numerous God of Ghosts would emerge from such a place.
"The world is in turmoil, with countless souls from the extraterrestrial perishing. The Wraithlands have the energy to continue spawning God of Ghosts."
Deep within the Origin Realm, Youyu's spirited body was able to maintain communication with Yu Yuan's heart, "This is an excellent opportunity. You, too, have the potential to evolve your Lunar Spirit into a God of Ghosts within the Wraithlands."
Yu Yuan paused before suddenly inquiring, "Is Kaiya still alive?"
"She originated from the Everlands. She relinquished it after shattering her divine position. She's unharmed, having made some discoveries and decisions that even I can't comprehend," Youyu clarified.
"She gave it up herself?"
Yu Yuan was taken aback by Youyu's revelation.
He had assumed, based on Chen Qinghuang's account, that like the tiger from Darkpinion and Yu Zhu, who had recently ascended to the highest echelons, Kaiya's origin had been stripped by the Will of the Deep. Unexpectedly, it was Kaiya herself who, after profound revelations in the enigmatic depths of the Wraithlands, resolutely broke her divine position and let go of the source that could enhance her combat prowess.
Her actions likely stemmed from a desire not to be controlled by the Will of the Deep of the Everlands, choosing to forsake her divine position in pursuit of freedom.
"She is formidable. Neither Han Qi nor Han Miaoyuan can defeat her. I was able to venture into the Origin Realm through the Mindscape because she occupied those two," Youyu briefly explained the situation, then added, "Your current task is to concentrate on refining the Lunar Spirit to the level of a Ghost King."
"As for the rest, once you ascend to Ghost King and I've claimed the Origin Realm, we'll head to the Wraithlands."
"Alright, understood."
...
In the Ashlands, on the main planet of Tyria, the colossal Space-Time Archway, crafted by Zhong Chichen and later solidified with mud by the Lizard, now stood tall and operational once more, thanks to the Dragon Slaying Stage.
Whoosh!
Brilliant light spilled from within the Space-Time Archway, weaving together to form a void passage.
On the other end of this conduit lay a world bathed in a dark crimson hue—the Primal Blood Continent.
"Master."
Upon stepping out of the Space-Time Archway, the Great Demon God Grec, along with several ninth-level Blood Fiend warriors, bowed respectfully upon seeing Yu Yuan.
They had embraced their new identities and, with Grec's guidance, had come to recognize their true selves once more.
The Solar Meridian that had dominated the Primal Blood Continent for years was not their actual origin. The Blood Fiend race's existence was due to the accidental awakening of Primal Blood, which inadvertently bestowed the essence of life upon the Solar Meridian.
With a grave expression, Grec advised, "Please refrain from using the Solar Spirit to return to the Everlands!"
This Great Demon God of the Blood Fiend seemed aware of the recent events and recognized the tempting power lurking within the Everlands.
Three Origins.
"Don't worry, I have my own considerations," Yu Yuan assured him with a smile and a nod. He gestured towards the starry expanse of the Ashlands, saying, "You've been here before and are familiar with this place. From now on, the Blood Fiend from the Dark Star are free to roam the Ashlands, including the Tyria Main Planet."
The Blood Fiend leaders expressed their heartfelt thanks.
Members of the Chamber of Commerce like Shi Jing'er and Feng Zhong, along with the new generation from Boulderdawn, such as Jiang Miaojie, were momentarily stunned by the sight. The idea of a star-dwelling race pledging complete allegiance to Yu Yuan was astounding to them.
Days later, at the entrance to the outside world, Zhong Chichen, Loong Jie, and Ji Ningshuang appeared together. Figures like Untamed, Zu Ann, and Mo Baichuan took their positions around the entrance, as the surrounding aerolites settled.
With complex emotions, they watched the comings and goings at the entrance to the Ashlands, contemplating how best to approach Yu Yuan with their counsel.
