C1910 Han Qi Who Was Instantly Killed
At the Abyssal Gate.
Yu Yuan, whose Solar Spirit shone with a crimson brilliance akin to a gemstone, sat upon the multihued sea, the water beneath him gently rippling.
The Lizard, the Abyssal Leviathan, and the little spinosaurus had all returned to the Ashlands, and Tan Xiaotian had departed in silence.
Now, he alone remained on guard. His vital energy was the most potent in the world, yet he could not enter the Abyss until the Abyssal Gate was breached.
He was no Jihui, nor did he possess a pure soul form, and he was unversed in the intricacies of space magic.
To date, only beings like Jihui and the Origin Deity, those with mighty souls and a mastery of space magic, had crossed the Abyssal Gate.
Even the Demon God Bertain had previously relied on the Maw of Oblivion in the Ashlands to make the crossing.
Clouds, woven from the bloodline mysteries of cosmic giant beasts, drifted towards him from great distances, drawn by his will.
His eyes narrowed, and countless thoughts and consciousnesses penetrated the clouds like a shower of light, racing through the bloodline chains, each finer than a hundred strands of hair.
If the Abyssal Gate were to shatter, he would be left to clumsily extract the Bloodline Revelation from the Primal Blood within him.
This method, which avoided direct plundering or assimilation into the Solar Spirit Body, was the only way he could fathom to discern the subtleties within.
Though far less efficient, it was the only option available.
With a mere thought, he could shatter the Abyssal Gate, absorbing all the Bloodline Revelations marked by the Titan Spinosaurus into his physique.
Like the cosmic giant beast that devours its kin without needing to understand, simply digesting them directly, he too possessed this ability.
But such an act would destroy the Abyssal Gate, and the Evil God, yearning for this realm, would manifest in this world.
Once the Evil God dispersed, appearing across the Astral Domains, he would be beyond reach.
"For now, this will suffice."
He murmured, awaiting further insights from his real body and the reckless Lunar Spirit, hoping for a deeper comprehension of the Everlands and the Abyss.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment.
With a whoosh, a slender figure in purple gracefully stretched her body, descending from the void above as if caught in a dance. She was enveloped by a myriad of purple flowers, auspicious clouds, and rainbows, appearing as the supreme deity of an infinite Star River.
Below, on the colorful sea's surface, clouds symbolizing the profound bloodline mysteries of the giant beasts stirred with excitement at her approach, as if yearning for her descent.
It was as though she possessed something within her that even the Old Titan and the Titan Spinosaurus had coveted in life.
Yu Yuan's expression darkened slightly as he inquired, "What brings you here?"
"Just checking in on you... and perhaps to reminisce a bit," she replied.
As the Dark Phoenix neared the Abyssal Gate, her crystalline feet abruptly halted, and she unfurled her radiant wings, vast enough to eclipse the sun.
Her human form seemed insignificant in comparison.
She produced a pale purple orb of light from her bosom, gazing playfully at Yu Yuan and remarked, "I've come to express my gratitude. Though you haven't fulfilled many paternal duties, your decision at that crucial moment allowed her to emerge anew."
With that, she released the pale purple orb.
The orb made a beeline for the Abyssal Gate!
Contained within was a fragment of the Dark Phoenix's essence, the very key that had once advanced her to the status of a tenth-level Dark Deity.
This essence appeared desperate and fearful, as if instinctively trying to breach the Abyssal Gate and plunge into the depths.
"Such a mischievous little thing," the Dark Phoenix chuckled.
The pale purple demon energy enveloping the essence flared up into a tumultuous blaze. The flames, paradoxically cold and shadowy, were thick as sludge.
A fine thread of purple light, like a fishing line, connected her hand to the essence within the orb. Just as the essence neared the Abyssal Gate, she gave a slight tug.
The descent of the pale purple orb halted abruptly, then reversed course, flying back into her hand.
She grasped the orb once more, a sly smile playing on her lips as she toyed with it, saying, "See that? Beyond the Everlands, when cornered, it instinctively seeks the abyss."
The Lunar Spirit resided in the Origin Realm, while its real body lingered in the Wraithlands. Yu Yuan, who had long stood guard in the Origin Realm, remained unaware of the Abyss's enigmatic depths.
"What are you trying to say?" Yu Yuan asked, his brow furrowed.
"It, or more accurately, the entity beneath the Everlands, favors the Abyss."
The Dark Phoenix, whose features were striking yet somehow discordant when combined, took on a grave tone. "It once caused your death, and now it seeks mine. Yet, you have been resurrected, and I have always thrived."
Her words hinted at a troubling discrepancy within the Will of Everlands. She then lapsed into silence.
Much later, she resumed, "I was wrong about you before. I was deceived by Han Miaoyuan and the allure of the Dark Phoenix. It turns out that your vision of the New Everlands was the correct one."
She bowed her head slightly, seemingly reluctant to meet Yu Yuan's gaze, perhaps out of a sense of remorse.
"Let's not open the gate just yet. Wait a bit longer. The emergence of more Beast Gods requires time and process. I need more Beast Gods."
"When there are enough Beast Gods, even if the Abyssal Gate is breached and the Evil Gods of the Abyss surge forth, they will pose no threat."
With that, she and the essence she had captured soared into the heavens.
In an instant, they vanished.
"Did she come here in person to apologize, or to ensure that I continue to guard the Abyssal Gate, buying time for the formation of more Beast Gods?" Yu Yuan wondered, feeling bewildered.
...
The Undead Lord had sealed the world of reincarnation within the Wraithlands.
Han Qi's spiritual connection to this world, along with his control over the Levi River and the vast shadow energy, had been severed by the arrival of the Undead Lord.
The Undead Lord claimed it was not adept at personally slaying Gods of Ghosts, yet its dominion over the Wraithlands was absolute.
The blame lay with Han Qi for not escaping sooner.
Had Han Qi fled in time, he would not be trapped in the Wraithlands but rather in the boundless expanse of the starry sky, where the Undead Lord, confined to the Wraithlands, could not touch him.
Matina and Wagner were left with no choice but to continue their pursuit of Han Qi.
But now...
With a tear through the air, the elongated, ice-like Dragon Slaying Stage transformed into a sharp blade that seemed to split the heavens of the Wraithlands, striking at Han Qi who was unable to teleport.
In a panic, Han Qi rattled his bell, as though calling for his followers, only to see Kaiya dismissively shake her head.
Like her braided hair, two rivers—one clear, one murky—twined around Han Qi's neck.
She shackled all the sophisticated Spirit Magic within Han Qi's mind, causing most of the ghosts scattered across the Wraithlands and linked to Han Qi to perish instantly.
Simultaneously, the Skeleton Horse, faithful to Wagner, exhaled spheres of green flame.
The green flames ignited within Han Qi's body, dissolving the special form he had meticulously sculpted from Shadow Moon Essence and the silt of the Levi River under the Skeleton Horse's fiery assault.
The Dragon Slaying Stage made a clean cut, severing Han Qi's body from head to toe.
Kaiya and the Skeleton Horse raced to capture his ashen soul.
Yu Yiyi, momentarily stunned, unleashed numerous Banes and attempted to gather them with the Crucible of Evil.
A mix of memories and Shadow Moon Essence were absorbed by the ancient tree.
Han Qi, who had risen to prominence as a God of Ghosts in the Wraithlands and once rivaled Kaiya in the Annihilation Nebula, met a swift and tidy end at the hands of the Undead Lord who ruled the Wraithlands.
His rise and fall were both bound to the Wraithlands.
Han Qi's existence was fleeting.
His abrupt demise in the Wraithlands left Yu Yuan, who had harbored high hopes for the God of Ghosts, feeling somewhat... unsettled.
The so-called God of Ghosts, once stripped of their foundational power by the Undead Lord, could be effortlessly commanded to destroy others of their kind.
If he, as a God of Ghosts, couldn't leave the Wraithlands, wouldn't his fate be the same?
What value was there in the Undead Lord's promise to help him ascend as a God of Ghosts within the Wraithlands?
"Secure the title of God of Ghosts first! Once you enter the path of necromancy, once your Lunar Spirit evolves, you'll stand the same chance against the Undead Lord in the Wraithlands. A God of Ghosts still has some opportunity to break free, but a Ghost King or lower ghost spirits have none at all."
Kaiya discerned his thoughts and, undeterred by the presence of the ancient tree, called out loudly.
Simultaneously, his Lunar Spirit, active in the Origin Realm, made its way through the Origin Gate and once again reached the Wraithlands. As soon as the Ghost King-level Lunar Spirit emerged, the memories of both souls intermingled, granting him immediate knowledge of the visions his Lunar Spirit had witnessed in the Abyss.
