C1934 Hawk God and Dark Hound
"Shall we go together?"
The Abyssal Leviathan paused in surprise.
"That fellow isn't foolish. Among the murky rain he scattered, there are a few drops of his blood."
Yu Yuan nodded, steering the Dragon Slaying Stage away from the acupoint, capturing several drops of blood from the Abyssal Greater Basilisk amidst the sparse raindrops.
"These few drops will enable me to pinpoint his location."
Yu Yuan was enraged by the atrocities in Aihoyari. The Wasteland's Beast God's savage actions clearly showed no regard for the inhabitants of this world as an intelligent life form.
They were merely seen as meat for consumption!
"Hold on, I'll head over with the Abyssal Leviathan first."
Perceiving the fury in Taishi, Tianqi, Reid, and the other mighty beings of this realm, Yu Yuan spoke with a grave expression, "Elder Brother, I will transform the Dragon Slaying Stage into a stable Starway within Aihoyari."
Zhong Chichen nodded in understanding, "Got it."
...
In Aihoyari, a massive silver-gray eagle spread its wings across the sky, casting a shadow that made all creatures below tremble in fear.
Numerous silver hawks, with lower bloodline levels, were relentlessly hunting down members of the Silverscale Tribe.
Those from the Silverscale Tribe who had served the Abyssal Winged Lizard and brought treasures and refined iron aboard the Voidfarer were now wailing in despair.
"The Silverscale Tribe, I do fancy the word 'silver'."
The chieftain of the Silver Hawk Clan from the Wasteland, the tenth-level Hawk God Soderis, bellowed in the ancient tongue of evilkind.
With a swift motion, the Hawk God's talons, sharp as curved blades, ripped out a blood tendon as thick as a human arm from the Abyssal Winged Lizard.
"Quite the chewy morsel."
He masticated it, eyeing the alien beast that had been sliced into sections, its heart intact and still clinging to life. "You're unlike the other alien beasts; your blood is particularly delectable. I can sense the vital energy of your world's so-called cosmic giant beasts hidden within your heart."
Lust filled his hawkish gaze.
"My father is a true Cosmic Giant Beast! He will find you and exact my revenge!"
The juvenile Abyssal Winged Lizard's cries were heart-wrenching. With only an eighth-level bloodline, it was nothing more than a mere meal in the clutches of Soderis.
He knew his fate was sealed, and all that was left was to spit venom with his final breaths.
"Seeking vengeance for you? I'm actually eager for him to hurry over."
Soderis licked the blood from the corner of his mouth.
He had come from the Wasteland and mastered the art of transforming into the intelligent life forms of this world, but he scorned the idea, preferring to retain his original form as a Beast God.
He gazed at the Abyssal Winged Lizard and said, "This place, known as Aihoyari, is home to eight astral worlds. There are others like you here, likely your brothers and sisters."
"But now, you're the only one left alive. Do you know why?"
Upon hearing this, the heart of the eighth-level Abyssal Winged Lizard turned to ice.
Yes, the Aihoyari was created by my father for the purpose of breeding.
Are all my kin now dead?
"I spared your life to leave a sliver of hope for your father, in the hopes that he might come to rescue you."
Soderis erupted into laughter.
In seven other locations unseen by the Abyssal Winged Lizard, there were Beast Gods who had arrived with Soderis, engaging in the same grim task.
They were massacring the Silverscale Tribe, reveling in the bloody banquet of Gluttony, waiting to see if the cosmic giant beast would be driven mad with rage and come forth.
What awaited him was not just Soderis, but an array of Beast Gods.
"The heart, veins, and organs of a cosmic giant beast must taste exquisite. I've only heard tales from the Dark Phoenix, who once regaled her followers with such descriptions."
The Hawk God let out a longing low cry.
"Soderis, he's on his way."
"He's not in your starry realm. He's appeared in mine!"
"He's called the Starborne Lizard, and he's even mastered space magic. Heh, the foolish old thing is wounded!"
The Hawk God, stirred by excitement, heard the ancient beast language echoing through the nearby cosmos.
"Little worm, we'll show you how your father meets his end."
With a grotesque laugh, Soderis clutched the last Abyssal Winged Lizard, its body now only half intact, and with a gentle flap of his silver-grey wings that filled the sky, he took off.
Whoosh!
Like an arrow, the Hawk God pierced through the void.
In the dim and lightless expanse of Aihoyari, Soderis streaked through the void like a motionless bolt of silver lightning, with fine currents crackling chaotically within his wings.
His gaze sharpened as he observed a land torn into three fragments.
On one fragment, an elder of the Silverscale Tribe emerged from a massive stone door, reminiscent of a shovel's blade.
He had passed through a blood sacrifice altar within the temple.
Before the stone door lay a macabre array of blood-drenched skeletons, while blood-red hounds gnawed on the flesh of the fallen Silverscale Tribe members.
On another shattered landmass, an Abyssal Winged Lizard, seven thousand meters in length, lay in a crimson pool of its own blood.
A slender, blood-red shadow stood at the beast's chest, greedily devouring its heart.
It suddenly spun around, its face and mouth smeared with fresh blood, and locked eyes with the newly arrived Lizard.
"You've come?"
The dark hound shook itself, the blood that coated its body and face absorbing into its form as if drawn by a sponge.
This greenish-gray furred dark hound, a Beast God of the Wasteland, approached with a languid gait.
Its eyes remained a relentless blood-red.
Crack! Crunch!
Its claws left deep impressions in the ground with each step.
"The cosmic giant beasts of your world are the first generation born of Primal Blood. I've longed to witness them," the dark hound said with a low chuckle.
Its minions, their fur stained crimson with blood, also looked up, clutching the bones of Silverscale Tribe members in their grasp.
As the Lizard stepped forth, he found himself encircled by the pack, confronted by the dark hound and the bloodline descendant it had just heartlessly consumed.
"I haven't seen such a thing before either."
Two other massive beastly silhouettes, each clutching the blurred form of the Abyssal Winged Lizard, emerged from different stars.
Together with the Hawk God, four Beast Gods of the Wasteland had now assembled.
The Lizard remained silent, aware of the additional Beast Gods concealed within Aihoyari, yet he exhibited no sign of panic.
He stood before the ruins of the palace, maintaining the visage of a Silverscale Tribe elder, and awaited in silence.
"I hope I haven't misjudged you."
The Lizard struggled to contain his towering rage, fighting to suppress the tumultuous heart of the giant beast within him, resisting the urge to morph into the form of a Cosmic Giant Beast.
He was aware that he couldn't afford to act on impulse, for the one he awaited had not yet arrived.
"You're not waiting for someone, are you?"
The dark hound, emaciated yet massive, licked its lips and reached behind itself.
A still-living heart, no longer beating, landed in its massive paw. "Old one, care to taste the flavor of your offspring?"
"It's quite delectable. Maybe it's the shared bloodline that makes you crave it too?"
The dark hound extended the uneaten heart toward the Lizard, its voice dripping with malice, "You seem quite enraged. I've heard that your Giant Beast Tribe has a special state known as Berserk."
"In the throes of Berserk, one descends into irrational fury, and strength surges, correct?"
"Let's witness it, shall we?"
Expectation gleamed in the dark hound's eyes.
The Hawk God floated nearby, its icy gaze equally curious.
With a heavy breath, the Lizard, now in the guise of an Elder from the Silverscale Tribe, struggled to keep his beastly blood in check, knowing that failing to act could lead to a berserk rage from the emotional upheaval.
"Why are there only six Beast Gods?"
Just then, the Dragon Slaying Stage, aglow with a rainbow of lights like a resplendent Hex Stone, emerged from a quietly unfolding space rift.
Atop the Dragon Slaying Stage stood Yu Yuan and the Abyssal Leviathan.
"Lizard!"
As the Abyssal Leviathan surfaced, it saw the dark hound clutching half a heart, poised to offer it to the Abyssal Greater Basilisk.
The scent of the Lizard's vitality lingered in the heart.
Without a doubt, it belonged to his progeny.
