C1934 The Eagle God and the Greyhound

"Together?"

The Chaos Roc was taken aback.

"That fellow isn't foolish. Among the drops of murky rain he scattered, there are a few drops of his own blood."

Yu Yuan nodded, piloting the Dragon Slash Platform out of his aperture to collect several drops of blood from the Abyss Goanna.

"These few drops will allow me to pinpoint his location."

Yu Yuan was enraged by the massacre in the Silver Starfield. The savage deeds of the Beast God from the Desolate Realm clearly didn't regard the beings of this world as members of a High Rank intelligent race.

They were seen merely as meat for consumption!

"Hold on, I'll head over with the Chaos Roc first."

Seeing that Taishi, Tianqi, Reid, and the other formidable beings of this realm were also seething with anger, Yu Yuan spoke with a stern expression, "Senior Brother, I will transform the Dragon Slash Platform into a stable Galaxy Crossing within the Silver Starfield."

Zhong Chichen nodded in understanding, "Got it."

...

In the Silver Starfield, a massive silver-gray eagle obscured the sky of an entire world with its wings, casting all the creatures below into trembling shadows.

Numerous silver eagles with lesser bloodlines swooped down, mercilessly preying upon the Silver Scale Clan.

Those of the Silver Scale Clan who had served the Deep Sea Basilisk and arrived on the Galaxy Ancient Starship, bringing gems and fine metals to nourish their food, now wailed across the fields.

"The Silver Scale Clan, I do fancy the word 'silver'."

The chieftain of the Silver Eagle Clan from the Desolate Realm, an Eagle God with a Tenth Level bloodline named Soderis, bellowed in the ancient tongue of the Demon race.

With a swift motion, Soderis's talons, sharp as hooked blades, ripped out a sinew as thick as a human arm from the body of a Deep Sea Basilisk.

"Quite the texture."

He chewed thoughtfully, eyeing the alien beast that, despite being severed into sections, still clung to life because its heart remained intact. "You're unlike the other alien beasts; your blood is particularly delectable. I can sense the potent blood energy of the so-called Starry Behemoths within your heart."

His eagle eyes gleamed with longing.

"My father is a true Starry Behemoth! He will find you and exact vengeance for me!"

The juvenile Deep Sea Basilisk, screeching in agony with only an Eighth Level bloodline, was nothing more than a mere morsel in the clutches of Soderis.

Aware that his fate was sealed, he could only spit venomous words with his dying breaths.

"Seeking revenge for you? I'm actually eager for him to hurry up and get here."

Soderis licked the blood-stained corner of his mouth.

Coming from the Desolate Realm, he had mastered the art of transforming into the intelligent beings of this world, but he scorned the idea, preferring to keep his original Beast God form.

He turned his gaze to the Deep Sea Basilisk and said, "This place, known as the Silver Starfield, contains eight Stars Worlds. There are creatures like you there, likely your brothers and sisters."

"But now, you're the only one left alive. Do you know why?"

The heart of the Eighth Level Deep Sea Basilisk turned ice-cold upon hearing these words.

Indeed, the Silver Starfield was created by my father for the purpose of reproduction.

Are all my kin now dead?

"I spared your life to leave a sliver of hope for your father, in the hopes that he might come to rescue you."

Soderis burst into laughter.

In seven other places, unseen by the Deep Sea Basilisk, there were Beast Gods who had arrived with Soderis, engaging in the same slaughter.

They were massacring the members of the Silver Scale Clan, reveling in the bloody Taotie feast, eager to see if the Starry Behemoth would be provoked into a blind rage.

What awaited him was not just Soderis, but a host of Beast Gods.

"The heart, veins, and organs of a Starry Behemoth must taste even more exquisite. I've only heard the haughty Demon Phoenix describe them to her devotees."

The Eagle God emitted a longing low cry.

"Soderis, he's on his way."

"He's not in your Stars World; he's appeared in my territory!"

"He's called the Deep Sky Lizard, and he even knows how to wield spatial powers. Heh, the foolish old creature is wounded!"

The Eagle God, stirred by excitement, listened to the ancient beast language echoing through the nearby cosmos.

"Little worm, we'll show you how your father meets his end."

With a sinister chuckle, Soderis clutched the last remaining half of the Deep Sea Basilisk's body in his talons and lightly flapped his silvery-grey wings.

Whoosh!

The Eagle God shot through the void like an arrow.

In the dim, lightless Silver Starfield, Soderis was like a static bolt of silver lightning, with fine currents crackling chaotically through his feathers.

His piercing eyes fixed on the approaching land, now split into three fragments.

On a fragment of land, within the dilapidated hall of the Silver Scale Clan, an elder emerged from a massive stone door, thick as a shovel. He had passed through a blood sacrifice altar inside the hall. Before the stone door lay a scattering of bloody skeletons, with blood-red hounds still gnawing on the flesh of the Silver Scale Clan's corpses.

Elsewhere, on a split piece of land, a seven-thousand-meter-long Deep Sea Basilisk lay in a pool of blood. A slender, blood-red creature was feasting on the basilisk's heart, having carved it out from its chest. It turned abruptly, its face and mouth smeared with blood, locking its ferocious, blood-red eyes onto the suddenly appearing old lizard.

"Ah, you've arrived?" the greyhound said, shaking its body. The blood that coated its fur and splattered its face seemed to be absorbed into its body as if by a sponge. The greenish-grey greyhound, a Beast God of the Desolate Realm, approached at a leisurely pace, its eyes still a solid blood-red.

Crack! The ground cratered under the impact of its paws.

"The Starry Behemoths of your world are the prime progeny of the original bloodline. I've longed to witness one," the greyhound said with a chuckle. Its followers, their fur stained red with blood, looked up, still clutching the bones of the Silver Scale Clan's dead.

Upon stepping out, the old lizard found himself encircled by the pack and faced the greyhound, as well as a descendant whose heart had just been devoured by the creature.

"I've never seen one before," he admitted.

Two other immense figures, each clutching the mangled remains of the Deep Sea Basilisk, emerged from different stars. Together with the Eagle God, four Beast Gods of the Desolate Realm had now gathered.

The old lizard remained silent, aware of the additional Beast Gods lurking within the Silver Starfield, yet he was not overly concerned. He stood before the ruins of the palace, maintaining the guise of an elder from the Silver Scale Clan, waiting in quiet anticipation.

"I hope my judgment has not been mistaken," he thought, struggling to contain his rage and the restless heart of the beast within. He resisted the urge to transform into his Starry Behemoth form, knowing he must not act rashly, for the one he awaited had not yet arrived.

"You're not waiting for someone, are you?"

The greyhound, despite its massive frame, appeared emaciated. It licked its lips and reached behind with a claw.

In its grasp, it held a still-warm heart that had ceased to beat. "Old timer, care to sample the flavor of your offspring?"

"It's quite delicious. Maybe it's the shared bloodline that makes you crave it too?"

With a sinister tone, the greyhound extended the uneaten heart towards the old lizard, "You seem quite enraged. I've heard that your kind, the Giant Beast Clan, can enter a special state known as Berserk."

"In this state of fury, you lose all reason, but your strength surges, doesn't it?"

"Well, let's find out."

Anticipation gleamed in the greyhound's eyes.

The Eagle God floated nearby, its icy gaze also betraying a hint of curiosity.

With a heavy breath, the old lizard, now in the guise of an elder from the Silver Scale Clan, struggled to contain his primal urges. If he didn't act soon, the overwhelming surge of emotions would drive him into a berserk frenzy.

"Why are there only six Beast Gods?"

Just then, the Dragon Slash Platform, radiating with a spectrum of light akin to a resplendent Divine Stone, emerged from a quietly opened rift in space.

Atop the platform stood Yu Yuan and the Chaos Roc.

"Old lizard!"

The Chaos Roc had barely shown itself when it spotted the greyhound holding the half-heart, poised as if offering it to the Abyss Goanna.

The scent of the old lizard's blood was unmistakable within the heart.

Without a doubt, it belonged to his progeny.
