C1967 The Remnant of the Evil

From a distance, three figures emerged, becoming more distinct as they approached. An air of anticipation hung among the onlookers, all curious to see who dared to challenge the Boulderdawn's extraterrestrial base camp and confront the invincible God-King Taiyin at such a pivotal moment. Were they unaware that the Beast God of the Wasteland was watching, poised to strike?

"Aberrant Soul Ferris!"

"Fire Lizard Harry!"

"Oceanfolk Pantley!"

As they materialized from the desolate Stellar Oblivion, the assembled Otherkin experts at the Boulderdawn's extraterrestrial base camp, individuals of stature like Reid, Brie, and Rebecca, called out in recognition.

Just as expected, the newcomers were all formidable figures who had attained the tenth level, renowned across the Astral Domain. Besides High Priest Reid and Cardo of the Dawnbringers, other seasoned warriors present, such as Brie, Ballo, and Rebecca, were considered juniors to these legends.

Their sudden appearance sparked murmurs among the Otherkin warriors gathered from all corners; they could surmise the reason behind the commotion. The secret of Yu Yuan's identity was out.

Harry of the Fire Lizard clan, Pantley of the Oceanfolk, and Ferris of the Aberrant Soul had all seemingly fallen to Yu Yuan during the era when God-King Taiyin dominated the Star River. Their prolonged absence had led many to believe they had perished.

Since Harry's disappearance, the Fire Lizard clan had not seen the rise of another tenth-level Heir of Blood. Once a prominent force in the extraterrestrial Star River, they had now declined to the fourth tier among the extraterrestrial races.

Following Pantley's supposed death, the Oceanfolk were effectively marginalized, their presence becoming a rare sight. The Aberrant Soul, once synonymous with the current enchantress, saw a power shift after Ferris's demise. The enchantress swiftly rose, consolidating Ferris's followers and effectively merging the Aberrant Soul with her own.

Rumors had circulated that all three had fallen to God-King Taiyin, vanquished by the Dragon Slaying Stage. Yet, against all odds, after tens of thousands of years in hiding, these three supreme beings of the Otherkin had chosen this moment to emerge, heading straight for this very location.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Ferris, the Aberrant Soul, was the first to arrive. His stature bore a slight resemblance to Rebecca's—slender and short, with hair twisted like a braided rope.

His diminutive and delicate frame was enshrouded in a loose gray robe from which the wails of souls faintly emanated.

"Are you the leader of the enchantresses?"

Upon his arrival, he fixed his gaze on Rebecca and questioned her with a furrowed brow.

Rebecca, cautious in her demeanor, regarded the figure of legend and replied, "At present, I am indeed the one leading the enchantresses."

"You do not deserve it."

With a cold huff, Ferris shook his head and declared, "The enchantresses are merely a branch of our Aberrant Soul. Due to my absence, the enchantresses, with Bertain's backing, distinguished themselves from their male counterparts. Ha, I've even heard that your predecessor, the former matriarch of the enchantresses, perished at the hands of Boulderdawn."

"As the current leader of the enchantresses, you've neglected to seek vengeance for your predecessors. Instead, you've cozied up to Boulderdawn. What gives you the right to lead the enchantresses?"

His gaze then shifted to the six ninth-level enchantress powerhouses standing behind Rebecca.

Among them, two were, astonishingly, also male, just like him.

"If you still recall the glory of our Aberrant Soul, you'd know that we once stood toe-to-toe with the Sky Fiend in a bygone era of splendor. I, Ferris, lived during the twilight of that age and even challenged Bertain!"

"My return is to reclaim the lost splendor of the Aberrant Souls! It's ludicrous to divide a proud race into male and female Aberrant Souls!"

He berated Rebecca loudly, making it clear that Aberrant Souls should be united, not divided by gender.

"The Fire Lizard race... they've lost even the right to come here."

Harry, the elder of the Fire Lizards, emerged behind Ferris, his figure tall and elongated, trailing a lengthy red lizard tail. He surveyed the assembly of various race's champions with a sigh of lament.

Back in his day, the Fire Lizard Clan boasted several ninth-level Heir of Blood.

From what he knew, the leaders of the extraterrestrial races, along with the ninth-level Heir of Blood, were largely converging on this location.

He glanced around but didn't spot a single member of the Fire Lizard race, which filled him with a sense of sadness.

"Our Oceanfolk don't even compare to your Fire Lizards."

An elderly Oceanfolk woman with long blue hair, showing signs of advanced age, slowly emerged, leaning on a wand as if it were a cane.

"Pantley."

"Could she be the legendary beauty of the Oceanfolk from the tales?"

Some of the elders, familiar with the legends, gazed at the wrinkled, stooped figure before them and began to whisper among themselves.

Pantley, of the Oceanfolk, was once the most renowned beauty in the Star River, thousands of years ago.

Rumor had it that this enchantress, who had captivated countless men, had fallen for the human God-King Taiyin, only to meet a tragic fate—she was slain by the God-King himself.

"It really is you."

Cardo, who had remained still until now, hesitated before approaching Pantley under the astonished gazes of Ballo, Canli, and the others.

"Sister, you're the only one who hasn't changed at all."

The Oceanfolk elder's cloudy eyes sparkled with a glint of life as she saw Cardo approaching her with the grace of a delicate doll.

"Don't come any closer! I don't want to stand beside you!"

Pantley suddenly shrieked, covering her face with a scarf, leaving only her wrinkled, blue eyes visible. She frantically pleaded, "Please, keep your distance! I never want to share the same space with you, to be compared by others."

It was almost a plea for compassion.

Upon hearing this, Cardo paused, stopping in her tracks. She sighed and asked, "I've only heard about what happened to you. Did you... really die because of him?"

As she spoke, Cardo's gaze involuntarily shifted to the palace where Yu Yuan was in seclusion.

The Oceanfolk claimed that the God-King of Boulderdawn not only rejected Pantley but also mercilessly killed the most beautiful woman of the extraterrestrial realm.

After their private meeting, Pantley vanished and was never seen again.

All eyes shifted back and forth between Pantley and the palace where Yu Yuan was secluded, even Tianqi looked hesitant and refrained from intervening.

"My lord, could it truly be...?"

Tianqi harbored his own quiet suspicions.

As the crowd watched with bated breath, the massive stone doors gradually swung open to each side.

Yu Yuan, who had vanished from the dimly lit hall for a short time, emerged with a furrowed brow.

He rubbed his forehead and cast a quick glance at Pantley, as a vague memory suddenly surfaced in his mind.

"Pantley, the person you should be seeking vengeance against isn't in the Stellar Oblivion. It was the Dark Phoenix who made an attempt on your life, not me. Why are you accusing me?"

Pantley's reaction was immediate and intense. "Is it really you? This matter is known only to you, the Dark Phoenix, and myself!"

Her face beneath the veil seemed to quiver. With her wand, she forcefully jabbed at a small meteorite and launched herself at Yu Yuan with the speed of lightning.

It was clear to all that Pantley's emotions spiraled out of control the moment Yu Yuan appeared.

"Get out of my way," Yu Yuan said with impatience, gesturing dismissively for her to back off. "If you've managed to survive, then stay hidden. Don't come out and bother me again."

His expression was one of utter revulsion.

With a thunderous crash, Tianqi fell from the sky, blocking Pantley's path. A barrier of formidable vital energy instantly materialized between Pantley and Tianqi.

"Halt!"

Tianqi looked on with a stern countenance.

"Aberrant Soul, Ferris," Yu Yuan said, his face darkening as he regarded the floating remains of the Beast Gods. "If I'm not mistaken, you've come for them, haven't you? I'm not sure how you survived, but I remember clearly why I wanted to kill you."

"Ferris, you cultivated your Soul Power by refining the beast souls of extraterrestrial alien beasts."

"There's nothing wrong with that, and I don't blame you for it."

"But you..."

Yu Yuan's gaze shifted to the border between the two realms, to the desolate void beyond. "You should never have attempted to commune with the Beast Gods of the Wasteland! You've uncovered the truth from the souls of countless alien beasts, learning that their origins lie beyond this world, and you've persistently tried to make contact with them."

"That's why you must die."
