C2109 I Was Attacked from the Back and the Front
In the Stellar Oblivion, a star that outshone all others in the heavens pierced through a space rift from the far side of the Origin Realm, trailing a magnificent river of light in its wake. The once dim Star River was now a thousand times brighter due to its emergence.
It hovered above a mountain, bathing the summit's world in an unparalleled brilliance. Not even dozens of suns and moons could match the intensity of its glow. The newborn alien beasts and the summoned beast kings, unaccustomed to such fierce light, sought refuge in caves, buried their heads in the still-splitting earth, or hid beneath rivers and oceans.
The mountain's peak was a treasure trove of wonders, with mountains, lakes, plains, hills, and countless peculiar ancient woods and spiritual grasses. This grand mountain, originating from the Wasteland, continued to expand, nearing the size of Tyria itself. The energy it contained was immensely potent, promising the future emergence of rare treasures, divine crystals, and mystical springs.
"It's the Star of Light!" exclaimed the Death Viper, the smilodon, and Sekou the Direbear, their spirits lifted at the sight.
"No, it's not the Star of Light; it's the Light Spirit," Yuan Le interjected with palpable excitement.
Despite the loss of many Beast Gods and their failure to seize the Origin Realm, they now had Mother Earth within the mountain, the Uxthar Tree above, and the Light Spirit converging. Their journey to the Origin Realm was indeed fruitful.
With a resounding boom, the Dark Tower, placed within the space rift, was crushed into dust by the combined forces of Jihui and the Voidweaver. In an instant, all the torn space rifts healed completely. None of the lands called forth by Mother Earth from the Abyss could join her embrace.
Before the Dark Tower's destruction, Yuan Le witnessed an influx of Sky Fiends and the arrival of the human race's exalted ones. He knew someone had interfered.
Mother Earth, nestled within the mountain, was not yet ready to concede. She continued to tremble, sending out ripples that reached the far end of the starry sky.
With a swift whoosh, the star harboring the Light Spirit lingered momentarily before diving deep into the earth through a rift, establishing a profound connection with Mother Earth.
The mountain, amidst its trembling, found serenity as it delved deeper into the abyss.
Yuan Le, in silence, perceived the dialogue between the Primal Animas, his eyes brimming with astonishment and wonder. He discovered that the Light Spirits, emerging from the Abyss, were loquacious, their essence rich with complex spirituality. They defended Mother Earth at times, while at others, they condemned the darkness of the Abyss and the so-called evil Primal Soul.
The Light Spirit resembled a young girl, bristling with youthful exuberance and radiating vitality. Throughout the years, Yuan Le had encountered the Primal Blood of the Wasteland and the nascent Earth Spirit. Upon entering the Origin Realm, he met a plethora of Primal Animas. Yet, this was his first encounter with an anomaly like the Light Spirit.
What astonished him further was the Light Spirit's influence on the Primal Blood and Mother Earth, once a superior Primal Anima, due to its arrival. It was as if the Light Spirit enveloped itself in a mysterious magnetic field of emotion, capable of swaying other Primal Animas.
Uncertain whether this transformation was beneficial or detrimental, Yuan Le recognized that the Primal Blood and Mother Earth were developing peculiar emotions that seemed out of place, all because of the Light Spirit's presence.
After much time had passed, the Primal Blood issued a clear command: return to the Wasteland immediately, do not linger, to avoid further calamities. The Primal Blood that had given him life feared the emergence of the Demon God Bertain and the threat of the Sky Fiend, who could be perfectly inhabited by the Evil Primal Soul, ambushing them on their return.
"We must depart at once!" Yuan Le exclaimed.
The Beast God Temple, along with the mountains, trembled once more, setting a course for the Wasteland.
The Ape, who had yet to undergo transformation into a human form, gazed upon the world with a sense of longing. "When will I return? And what will have become of this world by then?" he mused, sighing deeply.
...
Elsewhere, at the edge of the Star River within this realm.
"The time has come for us to go."
Zhiya, stationed before the Phoenix Shrine, awaited the last group. She had received her summons, having fought her way through the encirclement of the Evil God and the Sky Fiend, accompanied by formidable alien beasts.
The Moonfang Tiger, Yu Zhu, and several other Beast Gods born in the Origin Realm grew increasingly anxious.
Though their origins lay in the Wasteland, their birthplace was the Origin Realm.
For them, the Wasteland was merely the birthplace of their Life Seeds, and they were strangers to it.
They were completely in the dark about what awaited them upon their arrival in the Wasteland.
Moreover, the Lord of Ruin, Yuan Le, and the Dark Phoenix they served had been locked in a power struggle for years.
Once in the Wasteland, with Yuan Le backed by Primal Blood, could the Dark Phoenix challenge his supremacy and carve out a foothold there?
The highly intelligent Beast Gods, now free from the constraints of their lineage, were all concerned about their future.
"You're not going to die."
Zhiya said with a dismissive sneer.
Deep within the dense purple demonic clouds lay a colossal beastly form that Zhiya had meticulously crafted, one that had once filled Yu Yuan with dread.
The Phoenix Shrine was perched atop these clouds, resting on the back of that very beast.
Unbeknownst to them, except for Zhiya, the Astral Tiger and Yu Zhu had always been supporting the Phoenix Shrine.
"I'm worried..."
Yu Zhu whispered softly.
Zhiya's expression turned icy. "He's not going to die either!"
She didn't elaborate further. The Phoenix Shrine and the mountain from the Stellar Oblivion withdrew from the Origin Realm, one after the other.
The natural barrier between the Wasteland and the Origin Realm began to solidify once more.
This barrier imposed severe limitations on powerful souls.
Contrary to the Abyssal Gate, it was beings with extraordinarily robust flesh, like Yu Yuan at the eleventh level Solar Spirit, who could disregard the divide between realms and move freely between them.
Beyond that, only the Secular Bird Queen harbored a glimmer of hope.
...
In the vast expanse of darkness.
"They've left."
The Primal Soul sensed the departure of the mountain and the Phoenix Shrine immediately.
Unruffled, it turned to gaze at the boundary between the Dark Realm and the darkness, where it saw Yu Yuan, magnified a millionfold, resembling a mountain of blood crystal.
"You are the key that freely unlocks the passage to and from the Wasteland. They believe they are safe by hiding in the Wasteland."
"Hehe, how laughable."
Its eyebrows arched in amusement.
"It's for the best that you've left. Now I can focus my energy on consolidating the remaining Primal Anima within the Origin Realm. Primal Blood, Primal Vitality, and all the deeply hidden oddities of these two realms—I'll clean them up one by one."
"Once you and I merge, even the Wasteland will be easily within our grasp."
He smiled at Yu Yuan.
Crack!
A dark power began to exert itself against the ice crystal wall behind Yu Yuan.
Tan Xiaotian had silently reached the juncture of the two worlds, stepping onto a mirror that had transformed into a portal of the World of Darkness, using its sharp edge to slice through the city wall.
The crystalline wall, crafted by Ji Ningshuang while under the influence of extreme cold, showed more breaches along the unhealed cracks.
Yu Yuan, with his back as broad as a Solar Spirit, pressed against the gap, his divine light spilling forth.
He was not only breaching the wall but also tearing through Yu Yuan's flesh.
At this moment, he was coordinating an assault on Yu Yuan with the Secular Bird Queen, Zhong Chichen, Loong Jie, and other formidable beings.
Yu Yuan was besieged on all sides.
Boom!
The Genesis Continent trembled once more, triggering a peculiar transformation within the Wellspring of Creation. A multitude of Life Seeds within the undulating mass of flesh began to glow abruptly, like a myriad of blood-red stars.
A voice inside Yu Yuan urged him to target the Wellspring of Creation using the Blood Altar of the Soul Altar.
It was as if the voice belonged to a vestige of his spirit from eons past.
The deceased Yu Yuan had left a contingency for this moment, now activated by the energies of the Genesis Continent.
He gazed upon the Wellspring of Creation, at the dense swarm of Life Seeds twinkling like minuscule blood stars within the throbbing flesh.
The deep red light radiating from his third eye was blindingly bright, impossible for the darkness to hide, swallow, or dissolve.
Simultaneously, within the Soul Altar, on the tier corresponding to Primal Blood, a massive Life Seed swiftly materialized.
Wherever his third eye focused, any seed related to life was instantly imprinted by the Heaven's Dais.
The Wellspring of Creation appeared to be in sync with him, lifting the layers of seals governed by the Primal Soul of the Abyss. He was granted the ability not only to observe but also to imprint!
It was reminiscent of the time when his eleventh-level Solar Spirit ventured into the Heart of the Everlands, only to have the Secrets of Life stripped away by it.
His altar, resembling a blood crystal, now acted as the Heart of the Everlands itself, imprinting the hidden secrets of the rules embedded within the enigmatic Life Seeds found in the Wellspring of Creation.
