C212 Fighting with Ease!

Clusters of miasma had infiltrated the nine flags, forming a contiguous veil of poison.

Yu Yuan stood steadfast in the midst of the flags, unmoving.

Centered around him, Bai Shenshen from the Sacred Hands and six young herbalists from various nations converged, vigilantly on alert.

Those young ones who failed to approach him in time had perished.

The undulating miasma, like a monstrous entity with a gaping maw, devoured the flesh of the living.

Fear gripped everyone's heart.

Zanas of Binders of Shadows remained detached, observing with a cold indifference, awaiting their tragic demise.

When he challenged Yu Yuan, Yu Yuan shifted the conversation, advising, "You should be more concerned about yourself."

Zanas was momentarily taken aback.

Then, he witnessed the miasma, having lost its initial target, violently surge towards the nine flags.

The previously gathered miasma clouds scattered once more, transforming into ghastly spirits and monsters, exuding a ferocious and murderous aura.

With a whoosh, a cluster of miasma entered one of the flags.

Engraved within that flag were images of spiders, lizards, and an unknown venomous creature.

These three depicted creatures, once vivid within the flag, as if hissing and screeching, worked in tandem with the rune circle's constraints to form layers of spiritual energy.

Suddenly, a greenish miasma cloud emerged within the flag.

The miasma cloud, with an uncanny presence, enveloped the depicted spiders, lizards, and the unknown creature in an instant.

The creatures within the flag emitted a piercing shriek.

Their cries, sharp as blades, penetrated the onlookers' eardrums, inducing excruciating headaches.

Even Bai Shenshen and Yu Yuan were compelled to cover their ears.

The anomaly persisted!

The remaining eight flags were likewise breached by the miasma, as if transporting them into an alien realm where the Alien Bugs and venomous creatures carved upon them were being consumed.

Intermittently, the creatures within the flags emitted screeches that pained the ears.

Yu Yuan, hands pressed against his ears, maintained his composure. He glanced at Zanas and, with a knowing smile, reiterated, "I warned you not to play with fire and risk burning yourself."

Bai Shenshen was taken aback.

At that moment, the visitor from the Binders of Shadows had started bleeding from the corner of his eye.

Not long before, Zanas, who had appeared to have everything under control, was dictating the fate of all present. He had deployed nine flags to create an impenetrable rune circle.

They were left with no choice but to passively await the infiltration of the miasma cloud and face their demise one by one.

However, following Yu Yuan's enigmatic remarks, the tide turned abruptly, and bizarre events began to unfold.

Initially, Yu Yuan remained untouched, seemingly immune to the miasma cloud's assault.

Then, anyone who drew near Yu Yuan seemed to be granted a protective charm, no longer pursued by the miasma cloud.

Ultimately, the nine flags that Zanas had released, the instigator of this ordeal, turned into the miasma's new targets. The miasma seeped into the flags, decimating the poisonous insects and Alien Bugs cultivated within by the Binders of Shadows' mystique.

Each of the nine flags was a labor of love for Zanas, imbued with his blood, sweat, and tears.

At the moment the flags were simultaneously penetrated and attacked, Zanas felt an excruciating connection, as if his own body was being devoured by the horrific Alien Bugs.

"Who are you, really?!"

Zanas, with blood trickling from his eye, seemed to finally grasp the gravity of the situation and sensed an anomaly.

He stared intently at Yu Yuan, where in the depths of his pupils, soul threads appeared to be weaving together, on the verge of forming an intricate Ghoul Glyph.

A dazzling light burst forth in his eyes, and in a flash, two runes capable of discerning the minutest details materialized, revealing to him a world of intricacies.

To his astonishment, he saw Yu Yuan amidst the nine flags, from whose sleeves poured forth a dust finer than grains of sand.

This dust sparkled like tiny diamonds, emitting a soft glow. As it left Yu Yuan's sleeves, it dispersed in a radius of seven or eight meters around him without settling to the ground.

The diamond-like dust was exceedingly minute, invisible to the naked eye.

Only with the aid of the runes could he catch a glimpse of this incredibly fine dust.

He paused, his attention returning to the nine flags once more.

Then, he noticed another kind of dust on the surface of the flag he had crafted, equally invisible to the naked eye, but this time a peculiar shade of lavender.

One was pink, the other lavender.

The pink dust kept the miasma at bay, causing it to steer clear from a distance.

In stark contrast, the lavender dust seemed to possess a magical quality, as if beckoning the miasma, drawing it in with a unique scent.

"Boom! Boom!"

Deep within Zanas' eyes, the runes he had struggled to form were being relentlessly ravaged by the Alien Bugs and other foreign objects inside the flag. As a spellcaster, he found it increasingly difficult to sustain them.

In the instant the runes shattered, Zanas could no longer discern the marvels, but his mind was crystal clear.

"Yu Yuan, your name is Yu Yuan, isn't it?"

Zanas inhaled deeply, his face contorted with extreme malice. Abruptly, he ejected a Ghoul Glyph that transformed into a ghastly ghost face and hurtled towards Yu Yuan.

The ghost face glowed an eerie green, radiating a chilling and sinister presence that seemed capable of freezing one's very soul.

"Crack! Crack!"

An odd sound echoed through the space where the ghost face passed, as if it were being encased in ice.

Bai Shenshen's face turned as she angrily exclaimed, "Despicable!"

"Low blow."

Simultaneously, another voice, mocking and elusive, rang out.

A golden rose descended from the heavens.

This golden rose exuded a divine and majestic ancient aura. Upon its sudden appearance, it captivated everyone's attention.

As if by fate, the golden rose landed directly on the ghost face.

The malevolent and icy ghost face, like a snowball dissolving under the fierce sun, vanished into a wisp of formless "meltwater" under the watchful eyes of the crowd.

In an instant, it was gone without a trace.

Zanas, the creator of the Ghoul Glyph, was further wounded in a flash, a torrent of fresh blood spurting uncontrollably from his mouth.

Fuming, he turned his head to look elsewhere.

At the opposite corner of a triangle formed with Yu Yuan and Bai Shenshen, a man and a woman unexpectedly emerged.

The man was Liu Zaihe, a descendant of the King of Wraiths, who should have been evacuated and remained outside.

The woman, tall and draped in a cyan veil, had features so striking they seemed painted on.

Her eyes twinkled with a playful smile, radiating an air of nonchalance and fearlessness, a purity reminiscent of a carefree young girl.

Beside her stood Liu Zaihe, who usually exuded an aura of aloofness and detachment. However, in her presence, he seemed somewhat uneasy and tense.

The woman bore the emblem of the Songbird on her shoulders, and her chest was adorned with nine herbs, signifying her status as a ninth-level Spirit Level herbalist—a rank even higher than Liu Zaihe's.

Zanas, who was seething with rage, was on the verge of an outburst when he caught sight of her attire and demeanor. Something clicked in his mind, and his face abruptly shifted in color. Surprisingly, Zanas found himself settling into a strange calm.

The one who had shattered the Ghoul Glyph was none other than the woman with the green veil. Instead of directing his wrath at her, Zanas turned his ire toward Liu Zaihe, his voice heavy with menace, "Even as a descendant of the King of Wraiths, you ought to mind your manners once I've allowed you to leave."

Liu Zaihe had initially preferred to avoid any further complications and had no desire to linger, lest other conflicts arise.

Yet, now, standing alongside the statuesque woman, he seemed to find a newfound boldness. Perhaps fearing her disdain, he feigned defiance and declared, "The Binders of Shadows may hold sway in the Land of Quiescence, and they may have a standing in the Devil Palace and Shadow's Keep. Having grown strong enough to challenge the Ruby Hand and the Colddeath, they still have no right to run rampant in Aetherius."

"Boy! You think you're in a position to lecture me?" Zanas bellowed, his fury unabated. He abruptly shifted his focus from Yu Yuan to Liu Zaihe, no longer restrained by any fear of the King of Wraiths' lineage.

"Why has this fellow returned?" Yu Yuan asked, bewildered, turning to Bai Shenshen at his side. "Coming back after being let go is a serious breach of protocol."

He then noticed Bai Shenshen's silence.

Bai Shenshen, along with the surviving young herbalists from the various empires, all fixed their gazes on the veiled woman in green. Their faces softened, as if they had found a soothing presence, a pillar of strength.
