C2132 Soul Cleansing Brilliance

In the Frostlands, Yu Yuan suspended the seven-tiered, translucent Soul Altar in midair, unleashing a mystical glow that bathed the realm's mightiest in its light. The strange knots of death hidden deep within the souls of Ann Ziqing, Ji Ningshuang, and Xuanli were slowly dissolving.

The Soul Altar, forged from a variety of platforms, captured the attention of all in the Frostlands. Even Primal Blood and the forces of extreme cold were covertly probing its enigmatic secrets. Alas, not even they could unravel the mysteries of the Soul Altar.

The essence emanating from the Soul Altar's seven layers, the energy fields and vibrations it released, gave the extraordinary Primal Animas a sense of foreboding. It was as if the Soul Altar had been created to oppose them from its very inception—as though it was destined to hunt down Primal Animas.

Yu Yuan, with a keen perception, discovered that the light from the Soul Altar was imbued with the essence of life, encompassing the breath of vegetation, the fury of lightning, the bitterness of cold, and the purity of light, among other distinct auras. Yet, only three elements were truly effective in dissolving the death knots born from the Primal Soul of the Abyss—lightning, extreme cold, and light.

The most intense cold had the power to freeze souls into oblivion. Lightning, the bane of all souls, and the sanctified, cleansing force of light, worked wonders against the corrupting influence of the Primal Soul of the Abyss.

The profound intricacies of light, thunder, and ice magic were interwoven within the enigmatic glow, cascading down upon all beings below. It was Yu Yuan's delicate control over his soul that enabled the dissolution of the deathly traces left by the Primal Soul in the Abyss.

During his reign as the Lord of the Abyss, his Soul Altar comprised five levels: light, darkness, vegetation, lightning, and Primal Soul. Now, it stood with seven levels. Though darkness was absent, it had gained Primal Blood, Primal Vitality, and ice. It was this additional layer of ice, mingled with the powers of lightning and light, that endowed the glow with such extraordinary effects.

This was a force he had never possessed before, and now that he had it, he was greatly heartened. He christened this power "Soul Cleansing Brilliance."

The "Soul Cleansing Brilliance" has the power to erase the taint of the Abyss's Primal Soul. It can directly dissolve the entanglements within a soul, allowing those whose thoughts have been warped by the Primal Soul to reclaim their true selves.

Yu Yuan wasn't yet certain whether those he had cleansed with the Soul Cleansing Brilliance would be able to resist the Primal Soul's influence upon a future encounter. What he did know was that keeping a significant distance from the Primal Soul's presence should enable him to maintain his spiritual wisdom.

Then, Lin Daoke came to mind. Yu Yuan realized he might be able to keep the promise he had made. If Lin Daoke could capture the Sword Sect's highest-ranking members and bring them to the Frostlands, Yu Yuan could use the Soul Cleansing Brilliance to help Van Heqing, Lu Hongpeng, and other exalted figures like Yue Mu and the Grand Sword Immortal, to untangle the knots in their souls.

As he pondered this, Yu Yuan noticed he was rapidly depleting his Soul Power. His real body was capable of converting the spiritual energy within him and the Star River's power into purified forces of lightning, ice, and light. These energies, once channeled into the Soul Altar, would work in concert with the Primal Anima's rules to unleash the Soul Cleansing Brilliance.

Yet, it was his Soul Power that was being consumed most during this process. Unable to quickly replenish the spent Soul Power, he felt weakened and exhausted, his spirit flagging.

Before long, the top tier of the Soul Altar, with its jade-like surface, began to fade. The Soul Power he had amassed in the World of Darkness was draining away, leaving him feeling an even deeper fatigue. The Soul Altar continued to radiate light, but his eyes gradually lost their luster. Eventually, he had no choice but to cease his efforts.

"What's wrong?" inquired Demon Lord Tan Xiaotian and Taishi, looking at him with concern.

"It consumes a great deal of Soul Power," Yu Yuan replied succinctly, retracting the seven-tiered Soul Altar into his body. His real body activated its theurgy, drawing the Star River's energy from the Frostlands into his form. The energy flowed into his elixir field, through his acupoints, and into his organs, where it was absorbed.

The Star River's energy that had seeped into his body was effortlessly refined and cleansed, transforming into pure spiritual energy.

With the seven-tiered Soul Altar in place, this flawless spiritual energy could be transmuted into forces of lightning, light, and ice magic, as well as emanate the Soul Cleansing Brilliance.

Yet, the Soul Power he had absorbed in great quantities could not be converted by spiritual energy.

Soul Power is the most unique energy in existence, and it is exceedingly rare in the Frostlands.

To recover by absorbing the sparse Soul Power in the Frostlands would likely be an incredibly lengthy process.

Only when the Sky Fiend perishes and alien beasts die en masse in the Star River beyond, does the Soul Power grow more plentiful.

Beyond that lies the infinite Darkland.

The Soul Power of the World of Darkness exceeds any forbidden area or Star River in the Origin Realm. If he ventured there, a short stay amidst the darkness would suffice to saturate the Soul Altar with Soul Power.

"Tan Xiaotian, has the Dark Anima ever mentioned to you why the other world's Soul Power is so abundant? There are no forbidden areas or Otherworlds with such inexplicable richness in Soul Power," Yu Yuan inquired abruptly.

Tan Xiaotian's primordial spirit was exceedingly strong, for he was an eleventh-level Dark Overlord, and his residual soul had not yet dissolved.

Nevertheless, in the Frostlands, he was able to maintain his sense of self.

Upon Yu Yuan's sudden question, Tan Xiaotian pondered seriously before responding, "It's likely due to the Abyss of Truth beneath the darkness. After the extinction of life there, an infinite amount of Soul Power was generated. This Soul Power, gathered by the Primal Soul, is eternally enshrouded in darkness."

Yu Yuan nodded thoughtfully, finding merit in the explanation.

He, too, believed that Tan Xiaotian's words likely unveiled a hidden truth.

With the annihilation of that world, the colossal vital energy was harvested, becoming the eerie flesh and blood within the Wellspring of Creation.

And the cleansed souls, memories, and spiritual wisdom of all beings transformed into the purest Soul Power, concealed deep within the darkness.

Its immense power, he surmised, was probably due to its firm grip on the Soul Power of an entire world.

"Perhaps, I still need to make the journey."

Yu Yuan's gaze was icy as he stared at the crystalline wall, nearly fused with the blood-red barrier of the Primal Blood Continent. He spoke with a sense of resignation, "There's no place with an abundance of Soul Power like there. I need to replenish my Soul Power to continue purifying your souls."

Tan Xiaotian reflected for a moment before responding, "It's very dangerous."

"Return?"

Chen Qinghuang's expression grew stern as she replied, "He might have already returned. You've said it yourself; he plundered all the souls and ghosts on the Path of the Undead. He's become even stronger now."

"I don't think they're in such a rush to have their souls purified."

The Secular Bird Queen was reluctant to see Yu Yuan take such a risk.

"I also believe we shouldn't risk going back. You've only just returned from that darkness. If you were to go and he possessed your Demonic Vessel, not to mention the Demon God Bertain, I fear you wouldn't make it back unscathed," Zhong Chichen counseled.

Ji Ningshuang, Xuanli, and others also joined in the persuasion.

At that moment, Yu Yuan, through the Soul Altar and his Solar Spirit, sensed a consciousness emanating from the Primal Blood. It revealed to him that the Life Seeds he had absorbed into the Soul Altar were from the Primal Blood of the Abyss.

Moreover, the Primal Blood of the Abyss seemed to be advancing ahead of its counterparts in the Wasteland. Relying solely on its grasp of the Secrets of Life, it would take an exceedingly long time to unravel the mysteries within the Life Seed.

Its suggestion for Yu Yuan to take the Wellspring of Creation to the Wasteland was because it, too, was willing to accompany him, feeling a sense of weakness. The Otherkin lifeforms, born of it and the Primal Vitality, were perishing rapidly, which in turn affected it.

After the ghosts on the Path of the Undead were seized, the Primal Vitality also began to wane.

Yu Yuan furrowed his brow. "Do you wish to flee this realm?"

The Primal Blood's desire to join him implied that the Crimson Star would accompany him to the Wasteland. If the Primal Blood left, the Frostlands would inevitably be at risk. Without these two exceptional Primal Animas, how would the mightiest in the world stand against the encroaching otherworldly forces?

Primal Blood maintained its silence in response to Yu Yuan's probing.

Yu Yuan, too, lapsed into silence. He understood that the intelligent lifeforms in the Origin Realm must be facing dire straits; otherwise, Primal Blood wouldn't contemplate fleeing.

It must have reached the conclusion that there was no hope left, prompting its desire to escape.

"The Frostlands need to create multiple gateways to usher in life from beyond. We'll save as many as we can."
