C2232 Want to Court Death
After Lin Daoke's Solar Spirit Sword had cleaved through the blazing fire, he sensed the most vulnerable part of the transparent barrier. Suddenly, a golden wall materialized deep within the barrier, its bricks dazzlingly bright. The essence of the Golden Spirit and the power of the earth burst forth simultaneously.
An immense divine force bore down on the tip of his sword!
The tip of the Solar Spirit Sword, which Lin Daoke had meticulously crafted, shattered under the divine pressure, causing a sharp pain in his palm. He quickly noticed numerous cracks forming along the blade, indicating it might not withstand the divine force much longer and was on the verge of breaking before his eyes.
His right hand, gripping the sword, was bleeding profusely without his realization. He had no choice but to retract the Solar Spirit Sword.
The Divine Sword retreated into his lower elixir field, suspended in an inner world where spiritual energy was scarce. Lin Daoke's brows furrowed as he involuntarily glanced at the Great Demon God, Bertain.
With just one look, his frown deepened.
As Bertain's hands made a light tapping motion in the void, streaks of azure and black divine light crystallized around his amethyst-like demonform.
The divine light transformed into towering pillars, encasing Bertain at the center.
The wails of countless souls echoed from within the pillars, their cries seeming to warp the strongest of spirits and attempting to drag Bertain's devil soul into the light.
Behind him, eleven resplendent rings materialized, each displaying the natural essences of metal, wood, water, fire, earth, sun, moon, stars, thunder, and extreme cold.
The vivid, multicolored halo behind him became an aberrant "Maw of Oblivion," threatening to engulf all matter and life.
Trapped beneath the dark pillars of light and bathed in the glow of the alternate "Maw of Oblivion," Bertain's demonform, refined into amethyst, began to fracture rapidly.
In no time, it splintered into thousands of amethyst cubes.
Within each cube, a fragment of Bertain's defiant devil soul persisted—thousands of Berains laughing, cursing, dancing, or sitting in stoic silence.
Their disparate thoughts and consciousnesses merged into a spiritual deluge, linking the shattered amethysts.
Bertain wielded an unfathomable Spirit Magic, splitting himself into various devil souls, each endowed with its own independent consciousness. Even the Demon God was taken aback by such a display, refraining from hastily deploying the "hole" teeming with an array of Primal Animas to obliterate Bertain in an instant.
His gaze, filled with astonishment, lingered on each instance of Bertain's devil soul within the amethyst, attuning to the distinct thoughts and autonomous identities.
"You have caught me off guard, and you are indeed remarkable," he praised openly, nodding in acknowledgment. "The Mind Magic you wield is not the teaching of that entity, for after absorbing it, I discovered no Spirit Magic akin to what you possess."
He permitted Bertain to showcase his prowess. Within his All Spirits Ban, he was poised to decipher this enigmatic Spirit Magic, intent on assimilating it for his own use.
...
In the most secluded depths of the Wellspring of Creation, the Dark Phoenix unleashed her powers in a frenzied display before the bizarrely hued mass of flesh.
"Feather Blade!"
Transformed into a purple phoenix, she abruptly spread her wings. The violet-gold feathers, dancing with her movements, radiated a resplendent divine glow, slicing through the air like bladed rays toward the immense flesh before her.
The purple feathers were as keen as blades, the essence of the Titan Spinosaurus lineage, bestowed upon the golden dragon god, now reinterpreted through her purple plumage. Within the violet-gold feathers lay hidden the bloodline rules of the golden dragon god, manifesting as golden dragon patterns.
Upon closer inspection, magnified a thousandfold, one would discern slender strands of violet-gold light, each transforming into a golden dragon god, roaring and charging through the Mysterious Realm within her feathers. The edge and intensity of the feathers rivaled, perhaps even surpassed, the sword light of Lin Daoke.
Yu Yuan scoffed, "You remain willfully ignorant!" He resolved to disregard Zhiya's fate henceforth. Her rash intrusion had only exacerbated the already tumultuous and disordered vitality within the flesh. No longer could he soothe the flesh; the connection to his real body had grown increasingly strained due to Zhiya's disruption.
Zhiya's arrival, the Dark Phoenix, had thrown everything into disarray, thwarting his plans.
"She has achieved the Ultimate Golden Body of my ancestors!" Outside, Loong Jie witnessed the violet-gold feathers morph into razor-sharp blades, cleaving through the mass of flesh. He exclaimed in awe, "Unmistakable! This is the pure power of metal, identical to what I have discerned! This ancient Dark Phoenix not only took part in my forebear's demise but also usurped the very bloodline of my ancestor!"
"You should have known better than to make such a fuss now, acting as if you've never been out in the world before," Zhong Chichen said with an icy demeanor. "It's not just your ancestors; she has gathered and completed the Bloodline Revelations of all our Nagas that have manifested in the Everlands."
"She also harmed another young spinosaurus," Loong Jie added.
"She's implicated in my death as well," Zhong Chichen said, his mood darkening as he looked at Bertain. "That big devil is the puppeteer pulling the strings behind the scenes. And there's more..."
The Seven-Colored Dragon's expression was tinged with bitterness as it sighed, "Let's drop the subject."
After all, even the revered Titan Spinosaurus, the progenitor of both the Nagas and the Titans, perished because of Bertain.
Looking further back, the Titan Spinosaurus had already been gravely wounded before its return from the Abyss.
Was he really going to seek retribution from Yu Yuan?
"Ancestor, your truth of the void!" Loong Jie called out once more.
The sharp violet-gold feathers sliced through flesh, casting a spray of rainbow light.
Zhiya harnessed the Chronowyrm's space magic, attempting to transport the severed flesh and blood to herself using the feathers.
But in this most heavily sealed realm, her space magic failed to take effect.
The multicolored flesh and blood, once cleaved, remained in place. As the refined edge of the feather withdrew, the flesh knitted back together, reverting to its original state.
Zhiya's formidable onslaught proved futile, failing to sever even a single piece of flesh.
Boom!
An Ashen Clan powerhouse, once a ruler of the Abyss, emerged from a massive chunk of flesh. Transformed into a colossal octopus, it thrashed its horrifying tentacles through the air.
The tentacles, bristling with thorns as hard as refined iron, reeked of blood.
They whipped chaotically through the void, detonating Zhiya's violet-gold feathers upon contact.
The metal force that Zhiya had mastered, originating from the ancient golden dragon of the Everlands, was indeed a primordial blood magic of the Old Titan lineage.
The supreme Old Titan Spinosaurus did not ascend to the eleventh level through the use of metal magic. The source of its immense power and ferocity ultimately stemmed from the Secrets of Life inherent in its Primal Blood. Consequently, the golden bloodline it bequeathed to its progeny could never attain the eleventh level of metal magic. Lacking in ultimate strength, it was, therefore, susceptible to being shattered.
Zhiya's cries pierced the air as her violet gold feathers broke apart. Each feather was as connected to her as her own fingers, each one imbued with her lifeblood. Damage to any feather was a direct injury to her.
Yu Yuan had previously witnessed the green giant lizard that swiftly dissolved after its appearance. Now, it reformed in a corner of the multicolored flesh and spat a stream of venom at Zhiya before dissolving once more. The emergence of the venom, with its acrid stench, made even Yu Yuan slightly furrow his brow.
The venom struck Zhiya's wing, its corrosive power capable of eating through flesh and Sunsilver alike. It hissed upon contact, emitting plumes of colorful, toxic smoke. In an instant, a ghastly, bloody hole was eroded by the venom.
The green giant lizard that had released the venom had already melted back into the flesh, as if it had never surfaced. Yet, the venomous wound on Zhiya's wing continued to expand as the venom's potency lingered.
Her cries took on a desolate tone.
Then, the towering black-scaled devil, standing a thousand feet tall, transformed into a dense mass of darkness and lunged at Zhiya's purple phoenix form. Within the deepest shadows, it seemed as though divine kingdoms stood, with ancient dark creatures, dead for millions of years, heeding the devil's call.
A Horned Demon warrior, sheathed in lightning, launched itself at Zhiya, its form as deadly as any blade.
Zhiya found herself suddenly besieged on all sides. Although she was formidable, within the confines of the little world inside the Wellspring of Creation, the Abyssal Overlords who had perished within this mass of flesh could be resurrected endlessly. Those Overlords who had already died were beyond the reach of death itself.
Zhiya faced a grim reality: once she died in this world, her death would be permanent.
"She's hell-bent on her own demise," Yu Yuan remarked, his expression icy.
Outside, Yu Zhu, who stood before the Phoenix Shrine, had lost her previous composure. She anxiously watched the Dark Phoenix Zhiya, still attempting to reach out to her real body with the voice of her soul heart. Yu Yuan, however, ignored her pleas.
The obstinate Dark Phoenix disgusted him so much that he no longer sought to resolve the enormous doubt in his mind concerning her.
Zhiya's intrusion had only made the flesh and blood more volatile, significantly complicating his control over it. Unless Zhiya perished or was dissolved by the flesh and blood, it would not relent.
Ironically, while it was easy to enter this small world that confined the flesh and blood, leaving it proved to be exceedingly difficult.
Now, Zhiya faced a life-or-death crisis, but even if she wished to escape, there was no way out.
"It's not that I'm indifferent to her plight; she chose this path herself. Now, even if I wanted to intervene, it's beyond my control," Yu Yuan's voice echoed coldly in the true world outside the Wellspring of Creation.
Yu Zhu initially thought it was another soul transmission from him. After a brief pause, she realized another Yu Yuan had materialized above Zhong Chichen's Book of Time.
Besides Yu Yuan, Yuan Lianyao was there, someone she recognized well.
She instantly understood that this Yu Yuan was not the Solar Spirit but his real body that had departed earlier.
"Not another one!" exclaimed the black goat, Death Viper, and the rest of the Beast Gods in alarm, their gazes filled with dread as they looked at Yu Yuan.
Loong Jie and the Dark Deities, including Green Willow, were equally stunned by the sudden appearance of Yu Yuan's real body, staring at him in astonishment.
"The Book of Time can always transform into the most wondrous teleportation circle," Zhong Chichen said with a casual smile. "He's well-acquainted with this book. With his Soul Altar, he can sense me and thus arrive at the Book of Time."
"Kid, hurry up and come in to rescue me!" The many amethysts within the All Spirits Ban transmitted Bertain's frantic calls, and all of Bertain's devil souls turned their attention to Yu Yuan's real body.
Clearly, Bertain had long pinned his hopes on this very body.
"Hasn't he arrived?"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than Yu Yuan, who had just been within the Book of Time, stood amidst the black and green light pillars.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Each towering pillar of black and green light, along with the weeping souls within, disintegrated into ash at the moment Yu Yuan made his appearance.
From the depths of his brow, his eight-layered Soul Altar slowly emerged, immediately clashing with the laws of the numerous Primal Animas trapped within the seal.
"Loong Jie, Green Willow, come forth and embark on your path to ascension."
He beckoned Loong Jie and Green Willow to step forward and draw upon the profound truths of the Golden Spirit, as well as the cosmic principles of the Water Origin Spirit's Great Dao.
