C2259 It Quickly Fulfilled Its Promise

The moment he opened his eyes, the wounds afflicting the Undead Sovereign's body began to rapidly heal. With a swoosh, the supremely pure Yin Frost Soul Power zipped around the injury like a ghostly white lightning bolt, visibly stitching the flesh back together.

Previously, Youyu and Bertain had focused on addressing his internal soul issues, paying little mind to the bodily injuries. Now, bathed in the emerald glow, a powerful and strange life force burgeoned forth, smoothing over the bone-deep gashes in an instant.

Before the onlookers could even gasp, Yu Yuan, who had been lying prostrate before the Spring of Death, was already rising to his feet. He transitioned from lying down to sitting up, and then gradually stood. Deep within his eye sockets, the enigmatic funnel shape of the Crucible of Rebirth from the Wraithlands emerged.

For a brief moment, as the Crucible of Rebirth materialized, Yu Yuan seemed to momentarily assume dominion over the Wraithlands, becoming the rightful haven for billions of souls, the very source for Youyu and Yu Zhu.

This transformation left Youyu, Yu Zhu, and the Demon God Bertain visibly moved. The Hex Stone, once grasped by the Origin Deity Arthurs, had ceased its flow in the Levi River, but now, all the ghosts and Ghost Kings bound by Arthurs' power sensed a resurgence.

The blood-hued Levi River began to flow once more. Gods of Ghosts like Matina, Luo Yue, and Razses snapped awake, their eyes burning with fury at Arthurs. Meanwhile, the Lunar Meridian, which had previously communicated with the Underworld's Death God through Arthurs, surged with renewed urgency.

"Yu Yuan!" It was at this moment that Yuan Lianyao, the Light Spirit within the Star of Light, couldn't contain her exclamation.

"I'm alright now," Yu Yuan replied, his expression detached.

"Your esteemed senior brother, the conceited Seven-Colored Dragon, has been ensnared in a trap by the entities on the other side of the spring," Bertain remarked with a nonchalant air.

Yu Yuan was left speechless. Bertain had always referred to Zhong Chichen as a foolish dragon or a gaudy, stupid dragon, never once acknowledging him as a good senior brother. Nor did the Demon God ever recognize having a disciple like Zhong Chichen.

Now that Zhong Chichen had been taken away by an entity well-versed in the Truth of the Void, the Demon God surprisingly told him that Zhong Chichen was his esteemed senior brother.

"I'm aware."

Yu Yuan nodded slightly and elaborated, "After this body entered the Creitecesh, I retained memories of the events that transpired. However, once it was possessed, all memories from crossing into the other side were wiped clean."

Having offered a brief explanation, Yu Yuan drifted to the edge of the Spring of Death and stood where Zhong Chichen had previously been.

"Be cautious."

Chen Qinghuang stepped through the void and paused at the brink of the spring.

A horrifying aura of death laced with the power of destruction emanated from her impeccably curved form.

Within the overwhelming death force, there were numerous powers of destruction she had already mastered, indicating that her domain had nearly solidified after ascending to the Undead Sovereign.

She understood how to infuse the power of death into her body, rebranding it to bolster her own strength.

"The Lunar Meridian within the soul stone has made contact with Kurkova. Through Arthurs, the Lunar Meridian expressed a desire to venture into the Underworld but was turned away due to its incomplete state," Chen Qinghuang revealed, sharing the insight she had gleaned from the death aura, a secret she had kept until now.

Youyu's expression instantly darkened.

Yu Zhu, whose spirited body was hovering in the Phoenix Shrine, gazed in astonishment at the murky river within the soul stone, symbolizing the Lunar Meridian.

They had not anticipated that the Lunar Meridian, a fragment of the Wraithlands' Primal Vitality with the potential to evolve, would seek out an encounter with the nefarious entities of the Otherworld.

And to their surprise, it had been rejected.

"Hand it over."

Yu Yuan abruptly extended his hand towards Arthurs, demanding the soul stone.

Arthurs bit back a mocking retort, his lips curling into a cold smile as he thought to challenge Yu Yuan's right to make such a demand.

Before he could voice his scorn, Yu Yuan added, "If the Death God behind you wishes to converse directly with me, he must need something or wish to discuss a matter. My senior brother, Zhong Chichen, has been captured by another of your powerful kin. We'll set that aside for the moment."

"The Lunar Meridian within this soul stone was outright rejected by her once she expressed her desire to venture into the Underworld. This clearly indicates that she has no need for the soul stone."

"It's you, Arthurs."

Yu Yuan spoke without a change in his demeanor, hand outstretched, ready to receive the stone. "If you wish to converse with me, to have a meaningful discussion, then hand it over to me."

Clearly, his words were not intended for Arthurs.

Arthurs, about to retort, suddenly paused, bowing his head in a gesture of attentive listening.

Behind him, the Death God Kurkova was evidently speaking to him. He could sense her message and had no choice but to listen respectfully.

"Arthurs."

Yu Yuan's eyebrows lifted slightly, his gaze brimming with pride.

"Keep this in mind: from the moment my memories revived and I understood my place in the Abyss, you have always been beneath me. You, Arthurs, also hail from the Abyss, but from the instant I ascended as the Lord of the Abyss, I have been and always will be its true master."

"You are, at best, one of my subordinates."

As these words left his lips, Arthurs's face flushed with anger.

Unperturbed, Yu Yuan continued his taunting in full view of everyone present, including Kurkova, the Death God at his back.

"The founders and creators of the seven layers of the Abyss sit at the same table as me. Since my relationship with him became equal, even beyond my death, he has never truly risen above me."

"Should I die, the Evil Temple will continue to recognize me as its master, not you, Arthurs, nor any other Evil God."

"From the very beginning, you, Arthurs, have never had the standing to engage with me directly!"

"Hand it over!"

Yu Yuan extended his hand and commanded firmly.

All beings surrounding the Spring of Death fell into a hushed silence, witnessing the immense fury and impatience of Arthurs, who had proclaimed himself the Origin Deity following Yu Yuan's fall in the Abyss. Yet, it was evident that the Death God of the Underworld behind him was keeping him in check.

The Death God Kurkova seemed to validate Yu Yuan's claims.

Thus...

Arthurs, head bowed, avoiding the gazes of Yu Yuan and the onlookers, tossed the soul stone he had opportunistically snatched from Youyu.

"I must take my leave."

Arthurs, unable to bear the shame of remaining, vanished into the depths of the Spring of Death, returning to the distant reaches of the Underworld.

Almost immediately, a gray shadow suffused with an intense death aura and an unstable form materialized where Arthurs had vanished.

This was the true manifestation of the Death God, Kurkova.

"Hold on a moment."

Yu Yuan addressed the gray shadow.

Clutching the soul stone in his hand, the reawakened body of the Undead Sovereign served as a bridge, linking the soul stone to the other side.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Wisps of emerald ghost flames escaped from Yu Yuan's palm, holding the soul stone, and drifted into the stone, making their way directly toward the gray river that signified the Root of the Lunar Meridian.

Within these ghost flames was the Primal Vitality, now in the guise of an old woman, offering another intricate rule of the soul.

After imprinting these soul rules onto the Soul Altar at Yu Yuan's sixth level, he made a copy and transferred it to the Lunar Meridian within the soul stone.

Only by fully integrating with the Lunar Meridian could it continue to evolve and become a new Primal Vitality!

This was the promise Yu Yuan had made.

Yu Yuan had not anticipated that he would be able to fulfill his promise so swiftly, nor did he foresee the unexpected developments that were yet to come.

At the All Spirits Ban, two distinct streams of Soul Power converged towards Yu Yuan's Soul Altar.

The Soul Power ceaselessly bolstered the fusion of the sixth and seventh levels of his altar!

When Yu Yuan sensed the body in the Creitecesh through his "Soul Altar" and reclaimed the soul stone, he passed on the arcane secrets of the Primal Vitality to it, refining a new copy to honor his promise and infuse it into the Root of the Lunar Meridian.

Numerous unassimilated specks of gray light, of unknown origin, were suddenly drawn to the seal.

These specks held vague memories, some tied to the ecology of the Wraithlands, others to inconsequential experiences.

The memories within these lights did not touch upon the Primal Vitality's Path of the Soul or reveal any deep mysteries.

They were merely reflections of the Primal Vitality's past awakenings, contemplations of the Wraithlands' state, and visions brought by the Root of the Lunar Meridian, including those of the "Undead Lord" during its extraterrestrial ventures.

At this moment, for the strongest Primal Soul being refined in the Wraithlands, any memories unrelated to the Path of the Soul were considered mere dross and detritus.

The entity at the Root of the Lunar Meridian, while devouring the Primal Vitality, carelessly scattered the useless remnants into the barrier of the All Spirits Ban.

These memories, lacking the potential to become Soul Power or the arcane depths of the soul, were intended to be obliterated within the All Spirits Ban.

Yet, the scattered fragments of the Primal Vitality were drawn to Yu Yuan's Soul Altar and slipped inside.

They did not linger in Yu Yuan's Soul Altar, nor did they leave any trace; they went directly to the Root of the Lunar Meridian.

With the acquisition of these fragmented memories, the Lunar Meridian within the soul stone embarked on a new chapter!

In its transformation into Primal Vitality, the Lunar Meridian took a crucial step on the Way of Heaven.

"Here are your belongings; keep them safe."

After a pause, Yu Yuan handed the soul stone to Youyu and added thoughtfully, "This soul stone could one day become a new Wraithlands. It has the potential to house thousands of ghosts and spirits and even give rise to a new Shadow Mountain."

Having absorbed a vast array of memories, the Lunar Meridian within the Hex Stone entered a state of deep, chaotic slumber.

It required time to integrate and digest these memories.

"Now, we can have our discussion."

Yu Yuan, now shrouded in an aura of mystery, addressed the gray figure representing the Death God, Kurkova, and got straight to the point: "In the Wasteland, we are still desperately resisting him. Meanwhile, he has concentrated his power in the Wraithlands of the Origin Realm, consuming a high-level being akin to his own nature."

"What would you like to know?"
