C2293 Silently Changing
Speaking of his confrontation with Him, Yu Yuan was filled with a resolute pride.
He struggled to unlock the ninth and tenth layers of his Soul Altar, which temporarily prevented his real body from grasping the Secrets of Life.
Yet Yu Yuan was convinced that achieving this feat was no easy task for Him either!
"You're suggesting that He currently lacks the strength?" Bertain's expression shifted as he spoke through his Devil Eyes, "If that's the case, there's a lot we can do. I might even dare to challenge Him once more."
"Just drop it," Chen Qinghuang scoffed.
The big devil had been ensnared by His trap, and it took the intervention of Death God Kurkova to erase the invasive power of His secret brand.
The Secular Bird Queen saw it all and concluded that the big devil was inherently overpowered by Him, rendering him incapable of causing any real harm.
"Hehe, you underestimate me? Have you forgotten how you met your end?" Bertain smirked sardonically before adding, "My dear apprentice, send the Extreme Coldness and Primal Blood to Zionidall, where I once healed. With the wall of the Frostlands gone, those with nowhere to turn can seek refuge in Zionidall!"
"Zionidall?" Yu Yuan was uncertain.
"Believe me, let them head to Zionidall!" Bertain's excitement surged, "I know what concerns you. Do you think the Sky Fiend Clan is under His control, and that Zionidall is in His grasp? Heh, it's not that simple. I've prepared a contingency there to counter my creator in the future."
"Kaiya, you can activate the contingency I've left behind. Don't worry," the big devil bellowed.
"Alright."
...
In the Frostlands, Lin Daoke and the little spinosaurus plunged into the Sea of Purple Demon Energy. The prism-shaped ice crystal, charged with Extreme Coldness and Primal Blood, began to howl through the Star River.
"Ji Ningshuang!" She stood atop the ice crystal and declared, "We're heading to Zionidall."
With a whoosh, the prism-shaped ice crystal zipped through the void like a bolt of icy lightning.
The vast expanse of the purple sea and the fierce battles within were left behind, as the Extreme Coldness and Primal Blood no longer concerned themselves with such matters.
"Zionidall?!"
The revelation sent shockwaves through the Frostlands, startling the powerful individuals scattered throughout the region.
Zionidall, in the Origin Realm, was the stronghold of the Star-Spawned Terror and the former abode of the Demon God, Bertain.
Venturing to Zionidall meant confronting the Star-Spawned Terror.
Since the Primal Soul of the Everlands had been devoured, the majority of the Sky Fiends across the world had pledged allegiance to him, with only a select few still recognizing Bertain.
Among these few were Kaiya and Youqian, who were currently in the Frostlands.
"Your father's intention."
Ji Ningshuang left these words behind as the prism-shaped ice crystal glided past a deep blue meteorite.
The blue meteorite, resembling a tear, was none other than Youqian's Blood Altar.
Present were the God-King Kaiya, Youqian, and Cao Jiaze, who had reached the Ghost King realm through the practice of the Lunar Spirit.
Kaiya's form shuddered, a sudden recollection striking her. Clenching her teeth, she commanded, "Then we shall head to Zionidall! Taixu, Tianqi, summon the others and direct them to Zionidall!"
With a whoosh, Youqian's Blood Altar expanded to welcome the mighty from all corners. Taixu, Tianqi, and the formidable presence of the Abyssal Leviathan were also stirring into action within the Frostlands.
...
Straikepera.
The God leader Yu Yuan had mentioned was now hastening away with Xue Jiu.
Despite Xue Jiu's reluctance, Han Miaoyuan refused to linger and did not seek Lin Daoke's counsel by the Purple Sea.
At last, Han Miaoyuan and Xue Jiu entered the Genesis Continent through a Starway Han had established years before, and he finally relaxed.
The Genesis Continent was thriving, nourished by a surge of potent energy, with verdant peaks bursting with life.
Where the Evil Temple once stood, the newly solidified All Spirits Ban now shone with a dazzling array of colors.
Qin Luo of the Ruby Hand sat in contemplation by the All Spirits Ban, engrossed in the cycles of the burning sun within, seeking to comprehend the true essence of the sun.
Heeding the advice given to him, Qin Luo had shifted his focus from the study of the Heavenly Fire Dao to the profound mysteries of the sun.
He was a seasoned expert with ample depth of knowledge, now delving into the profound truths of the sun, hopeful to ascend to the rank of Supreme Being soon.
"Mr. Han."
Upon seeing Han Miaoyuan and Xue Jiu emerge from the Starway constructed by the Ebon Star, Qin Luo, with a look of grave concern, inquired, "What's going on?"
"Ask Xue Jiu."
Han Miaoyuan, after a moment's hesitation, proceeded deeper into the All Spirits Ban.
Once he entered, he vanished without a trace.
"What happened?"
With no other option, Qin Luo turned to Xue Jiu.
"The Frostlands have been shattered by the Dark Phoenix. Our sect's master and the Titan Spinosaurus are locked in battle with it," Xue Jiu explained succinctly.
He had assumed Han Miaoyuan was taking him back to the Everlands in the Ashlands to rally the Gods, the Sky Fiend High Priest Reid, and the surviving Evil Gods for a concerted assault on the Dark Phoenix in the Frostlands.
Instead, Han Miaoyuan had brought him here.
"The Dark Phoenix has slain Lu Hongpeng and brought about Lin Yue's tragic end. Shouldn't Mr. Han join forces to strike her down?" Xue Jiu expressed his bewilderment.
"We lack a Supreme Being," Qin Luo admitted with a slight awkwardness and a sigh. "According to you, Mr. Lin possessed the combat prowess of a Supreme Being, as do Ji Ningshuang and the little Titan Spinosaurus. And then there's the formidable Dark Phoenix."
"But on our side..."
He glanced toward the All Spirits Ban and continued, "Currently, we don't have a surge of Supreme Beings emerging. We're simply no match for them. Even Demon Lord Tan Xiaotian has been swayed by Yu Yuan. We're in a tough spot."
Xue Jiu had a moment of realization.
Tan Junshan, Jun Chen, Zu Ann, Qin Luo, and Van Heqing, all mighty wielders of Primordial Spirits, had not yet ascended to Supreme Being status.
Unless they intervened personally, venturing to the Frostlands would yield no advantage. They might even inadvertently empower the Dark Phoenix, losing even more of their essence.
"Mr. Han should report to him and seek his guidance. For now, we wait," Qin Luo said with a resigned expression, continuing his study of the sun's profound mysteries in hopes of achieving the leap to the Supreme Realm.
He had heard that Yuan Lianyao had broken through to the Supreme Realm in the Wasteland using the essence of fire. This revelation put him under pressure and heightened his sense of urgency.
...
"I've already passed the message to Extreme Coldness and Primal Blood."
In the uncharted Astral Domain of the Wasteland, Yu Yuan's curiosity was piqued. "Teacher, what have you arranged in Zionidall? Kaiya, you seemed to perk up the moment you understood the plan."
"Haha, I'll keep you guessing for now."
The big devil cryptically refused to divulge any details.
"When the God of Destruction makes an appearance, won't being tied up here interfere with your plans?" Chen Qinghuang inquired with caution.
Yu Yuan replied with a smile, "No worries."
His real body was keeping Mother Earth in check, preventing her from wreaking havoc in the Stellar Phoenix and from shattering the Void's Maelstrom. He had other reasons for this as well.
For some reason, when Zhiya ventured into the Frostlands, unleashing the power of the ferocious creature within the Purple Sea, it resonated with his Soul Altar.
The creature released swarms of insects that consumed the blood-colored light within the prism-shaped ice crystals. Meanwhile, the tenth level of the Blood Altar in his Soul Altar was slowly deciphering the Secrets of Life that still eluded his understanding.
The ferocious creature, whose aura was identical to Zhiya's, seemed to be linked to the growth and maturity of the Blood Altar!
He sensed that regardless of the outcome of Zhiya's struggle with Primal Blood, it would enhance his own power.
It would also empower the tenth level of his Soul Altar.
The battles involving Lin Daoke and the little spinosaurus, as well as the Primal Beast in the Purple Sea, similarly stimulated the Blood Altar on the tenth level, enabling him to further grasp the life power of Primal Blood from the Abyss.
He chose not to share these details with Bertain.
In essence, as soon as Zhiya reached the Frostlands and began harnessing the Primal Beast's power in combat, his task of suppressing the ninth Soulstone Pedestal with his body suddenly became easier.
"Mr. Lin should be alright as well."
Yu Yuan shifted the conversation. "I'm confident that with his strength, he'll navigate the Purple Sea safely."
"Hmm, Lin has been battling the Dark Phoenix for many years. He's all too familiar with its power. Once his primordial spirit sword transformed into a sword spirit, he ascended to the rank of a supreme being. The sword's lethality is unmatched, so he may not be defeated."
Bertain chuckled and then added, "However, the newly ascended little Titan Spinosaurus might end up being a sacrifice to the Primal Blood."
After Lin Daoke, the little Titan Spinosaurus charged into the purple demonic sea, and it was then that a spiritual sense from the Primal Blood made its entrance.
Yu Yuan felt it distinctly at that moment.
This spiritual sense from the Primal Blood dominated the consciousness of the little spinosaurus, compelling it to battle the Primal Beast within to the death.
The little spinosaurus could indeed be facing a serious threat to its life.
"In its bid for self-preservation and to free its body from the extreme cold, it's willing to sacrifice even a part of its spiritual sense. It's clear that it wouldn't be concerned about the fate of the little Titan Spinosaurus."
Bertain huffed.
Yu Yuan's brow furrowed as he attempted to discern the movements of the little spinosaurus and Zhiya.
Yet, to his surprise, after Zhiya entered the Purple Sea, he was unable to track Zhiya's movements from the tenth level of the Blood Altar using his real body.
He tried and also found himself unable to detect the little spinosaurus.
Bertain's remarks had raised his concerns for the little spinosaurus, leading him to believe that the Primal Blood intended to sacrifice it.
"I've discovered something."
Bertain suddenly announced.
"What is it?"
"You've changed, and while I'm not sure how, I suspect it's related to two events. First, your Solar Spirit processed the Primal Blood at the Peak of Creation, which resulted in a blood-red Tree of Life sprouting on the Blood Altar of your Soul Altar."
Bertain carefully chose his words and continued, "The second event is that your Blood Altar has surpassed the Soulstone Pedestal, becoming the highest layer of the Soul Altar."
"The resulting transformation is that you're no longer the cold and ruthless being you once were. You've begun to care about the lives and deaths of those around you, your companions. That's a positive change. I've always feared you'd become as emotionless as those cold Primal Animas."
Bertain regarded him with a sense of relief.
"You were just concerned about that little Titan Spinosaurus. Since your return to the Frostlands, you've obviously had the capacity to assimilate the Primal Blood, yet you refrained. Furthermore, the Death God guided you, tempting you to proceed in that manner."
"You haven't disappointed me."
