C2294 In This Troubled Era!
In the Origin Realm's Frostlands, Zhiya's conjuring of a purple sea of demon energy was now a tumultuous storm of lightning and thunder. The sword light stretched for miles, its terrifying energy vibrations reaching the neighboring stars.
With a swift motion, a pure and unblemished sword light cut through the Frostlands' void, tearing open a luminous space rift and cleaving meteors and all matter in its path in two. Three minor stars were split into six large fragments by the sword light.
Onlookers blanched, scrambling to distance themselves from the raging purple sea, fearing the residual might of the sword light would claim their lives.
The Dark Phoenix Zhiya, the diminutive Titan Spinosaurus, and Lin Daoke were all formidable eleventh-level beings. And the creature still hidden within the purple sea, unseen by the world, was a representation of the strongest life form from the Abyss of Truth.
Their clash dimmed the sun and moon of the Frostlands and put the stars at risk.
Boom! A star, engulfed by the demon energy sea, burst and vanished like a shattered bead of light.
Those Otherkin warriors from the Star River who had not managed to flee the Origin Realm perished with the exploding stars, their cries unheard.
Their deaths within the purple sea stirred not a single wave, causing no more than a faint ripple.
Witnessing the dire situation, the remaining Otherkin leaders abandoned any hesitation. How could they dare to linger?
A fleet of Voidfarers embarked on a new exodus from Wintermaw.
"There is no place for us in this vast world," lamented a towering platinum Shura, standing behind Elena on a black iron warship as they departed, gazing out at the purple sea.
This marked their second exodus from this realm.
The Frostlands, once known as the Dark Realm, was the sacred land of the Shura. Only native Dark Realm Shura and those with exceptional talents were permitted to train there.
Following the death of Blood King Sabonis, the invasion by Demon Lord Tan Xiaotian, and the incursions of Loong Jie and Ji Ningshuang, the Shura were forced to evacuate the Dark Realm.
They had scarcely found respite in other parts of the Origin Realm when the Evil God, Sky Fiend, and the Gods launched their assaults on the various races.
With no refuge left, the Shura reluctantly returned to what was once the Dark Realm, now known as the Frostlands.
Peace in the Wintermaw was short-lived as Zhiya invaded, causing the wall to shatter. Once again, they found themselves on the run.
"When will this ever end?"
In the distant City of Light, members of the Dawnbringers were lamenting as well.
Roar!
A heart-wrenching dragon's roar erupted from the depths of the turbulent purple sea.
A deep crimson beam of light shot up from the sea, racing toward the departing prismatic ice crystal.
This blood light was a manifestation of the Primal Blood's spiritual sense.
The dragon's roar, filled with agony before the spiritual sense left the purple sea, indicated that the little spinosaurus had sustained severe injuries.
"Yu Yuan has raised that little Titan Spinosaurus for many years; it looks like it might not survive much longer."
The Abyssal Leviathan sighed, murmuring to himself, "I'm glad it's not me."
He had once envied the little spinosaurus when it delved into the underground depths and was elevated to a supreme being by the Primal Blood's Secrets of Life.
Now, he felt no envy whatsoever.
The departure of the Primal Blood's spiritual sense from the purple sea signified that it was no longer supporting the little spinosaurus in battle.
It was highly probable that the little spinosaurus would perish within the purple sea.
"Ah, such a time of trials and tribulations."
Denise's face was etched with distress as she pondered the uncertain future of the Starborn.
At that moment, they were all aboard the Starpierced.
The Starpierced, in its true form, displayed a condensed star chart on its back. Denise and her fellow Starborn were relying on the Starpierced to escape the Frostlands.
The adult Starpierced, having ascended to a supreme being, had always detested the Starborn's giant beast. Now, it had chosen to draw closer to the Starborn.
"Stop looking."
Youqian withdrew his gaze from the Blood Altar and advised Kaiya and Cao Jiaze to ignore the commotion from the purple sea, saying, "Death is inevitable. If it weren't them, it could have been us."
The Blood Altar abruptly accelerated its departure.
...
On the Genesis Continent, dense dark energy occasionally seeped from the land's fissures, mingling with peculiar Soul Power.
Qin Luo had long since regained his composure. He continued to scrutinize the All Spirits Ban, integrating the enigmatic secrets of the sun into his primordial spirit whenever they appeared.
However, he gradually became aware that dark energy was seeping out incessantly from within this vast expanse of land.
"Darkness..."
Qin Luo felt somewhat uneasy.
Deep underground.
Han Miaoyuan crossed the All Spirits Ban and entered a world shrouded in absolute darkness, where he could sense the presence of both the Dark Anima and the primordial spirit.
This world was not unfamiliar to Han Miaoyuan.
The boundless darkness at the very bottom of the Abyss bore an almost identical essence to this place.
In this world, a massive dark crystal surface suddenly came into Han Miaoyuan's view.
Within this enigmatic dark crystal, it seemed as though a Darkland was nurturing new life.
The Dark Anima appeared to be orchestrating the emergence of new life within this realm.
Whoosh!
Without warning, a force tugged at Han Miaoyuan's form, sending him into a continuous descent.
He quickly found himself behind Jihui.
Jihui hovered above a sea of dark souls, manipulating it with a gesture of his hand. A flicker of light within the soul sea expanded, illuminating the current scene in the Frostlands.
The tumultuous purple sea, the swiftly departing prismatic ice crystals, the Blood Altar where Kaiya and Youqian were positioned, and the presence of God-Kings like Taixu, Tianqi, Xuanli, and Ann Ziqing.
Jihui presented the unfolding events in the Frostlands with crystal clarity.
"Before the wall of the Frostlands crumbled, I could only glimpse the events within," he said in a detached tone, his back to Han Miaoyuan. "Once the wall broke, I could see everything clearly, aside from the purple sea."
Han Miaoyuan, who had arrived to deliver his report, simply stood in respectful silence upon hearing Jihui's words.
Since Jihui could observe it all, there was no need for further explanation.
With a casual flick within the cyan soul sea, another spark of light emerged.
This spark abruptly expanded, transforming into a vast cyan-black pupil.
The cyan-black pupil floated in a strange world, seemingly filled with countless souls, demons, and ghosts.
Like a sinister star, it spread the Path of Undead across that world, inscribing new Mind Magic and warping the world's cosmic order.
It was reshaping the world to become more accommodating to its presence, altering the fundamental laws to those it knew well.
Han Miaoyuan observed for a moment and noticed that a surge of dark energy, intermingled with an immense amount of Soul Power, was continuously flowing from the cyan-black pupil.
He realized that this cyan-black eye was situated in the Wasteland, employing Soul Power to infiltrate the realm.
"I utilized the Genesis Continent and the All Spirits Ban to channel the darkness that once shrouded the Abyss of Truth into the pupil," he explained. "In the Wasteland, I've fashioned a habitat suitable for myself and the darkness. I will soon take control of that place."
Han Miaoyuan was taken aback.
The scope of his actions was beyond Han Miaoyuan's comprehension. Despite his astonishment, he was at a loss for words.
"There's no need to overly concern yourself with the skirmish between Lin Daoke and the Phoenix in the Frostlands."
After a brief reflection, he added, "Regardless of Lin Daoke's strength, he originates from the divine lineage of the Everlands. The mark within his soul that belongs to me will never fade."
His words implied that should he choose to exert his influence, Lin Daoke would inevitably be possessed by him and transformed into a mere instrument.
"The conflict between Lin Daoke and the Phoenix also caught me off guard. However, this works out well, as it has temporarily halted the Phoenix's advance in the Origin Realm," he stated indifferently.
"Lin has been misled by Yu Yuan, the Lord of the Abyss. In truth, he is the mightiest weapon of our Gods. I have faith that I can persuade him in time." Han Miaoyuan finally broke his silence.
He still harbored the hope of bringing Lin Daoke back to their side.
He gave a slight nod, offering no further comment, and Han Miaoyuan did not press the matter.
...
In an uncharted Astral Domain.
With the final flame of destruction extinguished, silence descended upon the world so profound that the drop of a pin would echo. Yu Yuan and Bertain ceased their conversation, and both their attention and that of the big devil were captivated by the statue, observing the final touches being added to its form.
The Secular Bird Queen, clutching a piece of "Coal of Annihilation," was fixated on the statue's foot, specifically the gap where a large toe was missing.
Each foot of the statue had only three toes, perfectly symmetrical on either side.
With its massive head, slender and slight torso, and eight arms, the main structure of the statue was complete; only the toe of one foot remained to be finished.
"It's almost complete."
Chen Qinghuang's exquisite face took on a look of solemnity as she concealed the death force within her, setting aside any contemplation of its true essence.
She lifted her gaze to Yu Yuan, her breath growing heavier, seeking affirmation with her eyes.
"Go on."
Yu Yuan smiled reassuringly, signaling that there was no need for tension. He instructed her to place the "Coal of Annihilation" at the base of the deity's feet, forming the final toe.
"The God of Destruction! Heh, I'm eager to see this!"
Inside the Dragon Slaying Stage, Loong Jie was eagerly shadowboxing, his excitement palpable.
The supreme beings who were temporarily unable to depart watched with curiosity through the translucent stage at the deity that might exist in another world.
Behind the deity's massive head, an unusual "spring" was on the verge of taking shape.
Waves of destructive aura were funneling into the spring from the swirling vortex of energy.
It seemed intent on transferring the deity's power of destruction to another world, as an offering to the God of Destruction.
A portal to another world appeared to be nearing completion, pending the successful assembly of the deity.
"Are you prepared?"
The big devil suddenly inquired once more.
Yu Yuan nodded with a smile, replying, "Yes, let's witness the God of Destruction from the other side."
"Good."
Without further hesitation, Chen Qinghuang placed the "Coal of Annihilation" at the deity's feet, completing the final piece of the puzzle before the God of Destruction's manifestation.
