C2321 God of Oblivion
Deep within Yu Yuan's Mindscape, the crystalline Soul Altar stood as an unparalleled Holy Mountain amidst the boundless soul sea. Its aura, mysterious and profound, radiated like a supreme temple crafted by the combined might of ancient deities, emanating an air of solemn majesty.
As the ethereal, ghost-like God of Oblivion neared the altar, he burst apart like bubbles in boiling water. Hundreds of wandering souls, formed from the character "Forgotten," vanished in an instant, leaving not a trace behind. Elsewhere, the God of Oblivion's figure suffered a severe blow from this assault, prompting a piercing scream from him.
His cries echoed through the minds of the mighty and within Yu Yuan's Solar Spirit.
"Foolhardy!" Yu Yuan, poised upon the Dragon Slaying Stage amidst the external cosmos, willed the Soul Altar from the depths of his mind to hover above his head. He gazed down at his Solar Spirit below.
With a whoosh, a blinding divine light burst forth from the Soul Altar, casting the purifying Soul Cleansing Brilliance. Within the brain of his Solar Spirit, another green wandering soul, shaped from the character for "Forgotten," was obliterated by this brilliance, vanishing without a trace.
The Soul Altar began to rotate slowly, then suddenly burst forth with light, showering a nearby space rift beside the Solar Spirit. From this radiant rift emerged a figure—a skeleton clad in an ancient cape.
"That's him, the God of Oblivion Harris, sovereign of the Otherworld!" Inside the Dragon Slaying Stage, the Origin of Poison conversed with Yu Yuan, the Undead Sovereign. "You're incredibly powerful! To have located this God of Oblivion in such a short time is impressive. His powers are enigmatic; he can twist and erase memories, leading one to become lost within their own recollections."
The Origin of Poison continued to relay information, sharing the backstory of this Otherworld deity with Yu Yuan, urging caution.
This God of Oblivion from the Otherworld was devoid of flesh and blood, a being of pure skeletal form, concealed within the fabric of the void. His bones bore a gray-green hue, and within the fleshless skull shimmered a pair of eerie green eyes.
Named Harris, he was a significant figure within the Bone Tribe of the Otherworld, presiding over the Yiwen and the Xaplica. He maintained a cordial relationship with Kuna.
According to the Poisonous Origin, it was only with the help of Harris that Kuna was able to successfully refine away the source of the poison.
She harbored intense hatred and profound fear towards Harris. With only a fragment of her spiritual sense remaining, she dared do nothing more than hide at the Dragon Slaying Stage and shout a few words.
The Bone Tribe, to which Harris belonged, was reputed to be incredibly powerful across the thirty-six worlds of the Otherworld.
The God of Oblivion, Harris, was merely one of the deities within the Bone Tribe. Kuna's alliance with Harris was also rooted in her acute awareness of the Bone Tribe's fearsome reputation, considering them her support.
"You actually managed to find me!"
The god from the extraterrestrial domain, clad in a heavy cape, fixed his eerily green eyes on Yu Yuan's real body, then gave an additional glance to Yu Yuan's Solar Spirit standing on the Dragon Slaying Stage.
"So peculiar, truly peculiar..."
He murmured to himself, then turned to gaze at the dark green pupil that represented the Primal Soul.
This soul, too, bore the likeness of Yu Yuan and was likewise unaffected by the God of Oblivion's power, remaining lucid without losing a single memory.
"Some of my memories have been worn away by you, but only those within the Solar Spirit's brain."
At that moment, Yu Yuan discovered a discontinuity in the memories shared with his Solar Spirit.
The Solar Spirit seemed unable to perceive the God of Oblivion and was unaware of Harris's presence within a burgeoning space rift.
He then realized that it wasn't just his Solar Spirit Body that was affected; Yuan Lianyao, Ballo, Green Willow, including Taishi and Qi Yunhong, all appeared bewildered.
"Forgotten, forgotten, forgotten..."
The chanting persisted.
The God of Oblivion, who was clearly present before them, seemed invisible to their eyes.
Yu Yuan scrutinized them closely and noticed that parts of their memories, including those of his Solar Spirit, were missing.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A mysterious, twisting magnetic field, like ripples, spread out with each utterance of "Forgotten," filling the area.
Aside from his real body and the ghost within his green-black eyes representing the Primal Soul, even Mother Earth and the Light Spirit were disrupted by the God of Oblivion, Harris, preventing the formation of new memories.
Indeed, they, like Yu Yuan's real body, had all witnessed the God of Oblivion, Harris.
The scenes they witnessed could not crystallize into tangible experiences, nor could they be etched into their souls to become lasting memories.
Without the formation of new memories, all that their eyes beheld was swiftly wiped clean, leaving them bewildered and disoriented.
Harris had the ability to tamper with others' memories, preventing the experiences of numerous formidable individuals from solidifying into genuine recollections within their souls, plunging everyone into a state of confusion.
Deep within their souls, Harris was actively excavating the fragments of memory that piqued his interest.
"I..."
Ballo, the chieftain of the Starborn, was murmuring softly, unable to articulate a full thought.
Yu Yuan, observing through his real body, was horrified to discover that portions of Ballo's memories concerning the profound meanings of the stars had been pilfered by Harris.
To have them taken meant that Ballo had been stripped of his understanding of the Way of Heaven's profound secrets.
Subsequently, Loong Jie, Green Willow, Yuan Lianyao, Qi Yunhong—each a paragon in their own right—also seemed to be losing parts of their memories tied to the cosmic order.
Yu Yuan witnessed the ethereal green specters moving within the depths of their minds.
Where these green specters traversed, the deeply buried memories within these individuals' minds vanished piece by piece.
"What a terrifying power," lamented the Primal Soul within the dark green eyes, still busy refining bones with the All Spirits Ban and preparing to construct a new demonform.
Clearly unaffected, the Primal Soul, much like Yu Yuan, recognized the might of this otherworldly deity.
"Now, all of their souls are linked to me. Did you think to consult me before erasing their memories?" it challenged.
With a whoosh, after Jihui's departure, it manifested as a spectral presence outside the All Spirits Ban.
It fixed its gaze on Harris of the Otherworld's Bone Tribe and declared, "Your abilities intrigue me."
No sooner had it spoken than its pervasive Soul Power infiltrated the minds of Yuan Lianyao, Loong Jie, Qi Yunhong, Green Willow, and Ballo.
Within the depths of their souls, the green-black spell symbols transformed into fierce demons, voraciously consuming the green specters released by Harris.
The green specters, once set loose by Harris to mine the memories of these individuals and extract the pure truths of the Primal Animas, were now facing their abrupt demise.
The God of Oblivion, Harris, grunted as his billowing cape indicated his intent to flee the dire situation.
"Since you've come and made your move, there's no turning back now."
Yu Yuan let out a cold snort. His Solar Spirit, close at hand, shot out like lightning, ready to prevent Harris's escape.
Suddenly, a fierce roar erupted from behind Yu Yuan's Solar Spirit – the little Primal Beast was expressing its rage.
With the roar, Harris's skeletal form was riddled with dense cracks.
Despite his mastery of various enigmatic divine spells, his Bone Tribe body seemed to lack resilience.
After Yu Yuan and the Primal Soul's intervention, the little Primal Beast quickly regained its senses.
The life of the little Primal Beast had always unfolded within the confines of the purple sea, leaving it with scant memories and experiences – a monotonous existence.
Harris, the God of Oblivion, found the creature's mind barren of memories to exploit.
Its might lay in its bloodline, and to harness the power of the little Primal Beast's bloodline, one had to delve into the heart of the dire beast and perceive the innate strength within the bloodline chains – a realm far from Harris's expertise.
Realizing the little Primal Beast had no memories of use, he voluntarily withdrew his green specters, symbols of his power. This freed the little Primal Beast from its confusion, prompting it to launch an immediate assault on him.
"Devitt!" Harris shrieked, darting through the space rift, his skeletal form within his robe emitting a kaleidoscope of light.
The rift enveloped Harris, and beneath the watchful gaze of both him and Yu Yuan, the luminous fissure flickered into existence before vanishing, weaving through the various Star Rivers of the Wasteland.
"I've found it!"
"So have I."
Yu Yuan, the newly awakened Light Spirit, and the Primal Soul, active across the Astral Domains of the Wasteland, simultaneously pinpointed the whereabouts of the Space God and the Death God.
