C2323 The Lost Memories of the Great Demon God
In Zionidall, a cadre of the mightiest could no longer glimpse scenes of another world through Han Miaoyuan's Banner of Duality. It was unclear whether the God of Oblivion, Harris, had scrambled the magic arts or simply deemed them unnecessary. Regardless, the assembled powerhouses of Zionidall were abruptly left in the dark about whether any new deities from the Otherworld had descended into the thirty-six wells.
"Mr. Han?" The High Priest of the Star-Spawned Terror, Reid, with eyes ablaze with demonic fire, spoke softly, "I can no longer discern His teachings."
The Guardian of the Holy Temple, clad in green robes, replied with a grave tone, "Indeed, I can't sense His omnipresent aura either."
"His power is coalescing toward the Wasteland, and His spiritual sense is converging on that realm," Han Miaoyuan explained calmly. "In the impending battle, He must confront three Otherworldly Gods, necessitating a significant transfer of His strength from the Origin Realm to the Wasteland."
Reid and the Holy Temple Guardian nodded in understanding. Even as the most formidable Primal Anima, He could not afford to underestimate His adversaries, three Gods of the Otherworld.
With a thunderous roar, the Dread Mount, once fortified by the Demon God Bertain to withstand the Everlands' Primal Soul, began to tremble violently.
Taixu, Tianqi, and the Abyssal Leviathan, among others, gazed at the quaking Dread Mount beneath them, puzzled by the disturbance.
"Could Kaiya be doing something inside?" the Abyssal Leviathan inquired.
Youqian shook his head, signaling his ignorance.
Deep within the Dread Mount, massive chunks of natural lightning crystal erupted with space magic. Then, as if by some arcane force, the ferocious lightning energy vanished, seemingly transported to another world.
The regal God-King Kaiya stood within a chamber hewn from the finest lightning crystals, her gaze filled with wonder. Mysterious runes, unfamiliar to her and absent from the knowledge of any intelligent life she knew, began to emerge silently within the crystal chamber.
She scrutinized the enigmatic symbols, sensing a resemblance to the Death Magic once studied by the Secular Bird Queen, Chen Qinghuang.
However, the symbols within the chamber of lightning crystals didn't signify the essence of Death Magic, nor was there any dispersal of death aura.
"How odd. Why would these runes appear in the very chamber my father used for meditation and rest?"
"I've been here before and never noticed these runes. Father never mentioned them to me either."
Kaiya was perplexed.
Elsewhere, in the Everlands.
The once vast Frozen Hellscape had become a colossal sunken basin, its waters long evaporated.
The Wintermaw, previously drawing dense ice energy from the extraterrestrial Star River, suddenly erupted with terrifying bolts of lightning!
In an instant, the region transformed into a deep sea of lightning!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Fierce thunder and lightning swirled within the vast basin, growing ever more intense and awe-inspiring.
"Everlands!"
Simultaneously, Han Miaoyuan, Sky Fiend High Priest Reid, and the guardian of the Holy Temple all sensed that something was amiss.
Several Wintermaw mouths and the nearby Dread Mount appeared to have abruptly formed a void channel!
The infinite lightning power concealed within Dread Mount surged through the Wintermaw mouths into the Everlands, gradually inundating the basin.
The cause remained a mystery.
"This... These are the scripts of the Otherworld!"
Kaiya, seated cross-legged in the Thunder Crystal Chamber, watched the runes flit across the crystals, exuding an aura connected to an external space. She had an epiphany.
"Mr. Han, the Starways of the Origin Realm have all become inactive!"
"The teleportation circles have also ceased to function!"
The space rules of the Origin Realm were in disarray.
As messages poured in, Han Miaoyuan, Reid, and the many masters of the Boulderdawn Sect were baffled, unsure of what had transpired.
...
In the Wasteland, within the Creitecesh.
Rip!
The God of Oblivion, Harris, concealed within a flickering radiant "thread," finally halted in this desolate Astral Domain.
Stepping out from the thread with a calm demeanor, Harris, cloaked in his heavy cape, surveyed the energy-devoid Star River and nodded in approval. "Well done, you've indeed chosen an excellent location."
The Primal Soul's power had not infiltrated here, nor were there any living creatures stirring. The entire Astral Domain was lifeless, save for scattered remnants of death aura.
The death aura lingered from the time the Secular Bird Queen ascended to her supreme form.
"Devitt, Kurkova."
Harris whispered.
He was certain that his two companions, who had journeyed with him, were somewhere within this Astral Domain.
A seed imbued with a faint whisper of death lay buried beneath a stone where Chen Qinghuang had once lingered.
From within the minuscule seed, capable of spawning a Wraith Tree, came Kurkova's irritated voice, "Your arrival has exposed us."
"Harris, we're not fully prepared. You've acted too hastily," chided the Space God, Devitt, with a cold huff.
Both Otherworld Gods were concealed within that single seed, nestled under a heap of rubble.
"What's there to fear? Even if we're exposed, what can they possibly do to us?"
Harris was unconcerned. This Otherworld God, who had manifested in the Creitecesh, gazed with emerald eyes toward another lifeless star.
"We possess profound knowledge of the Origin Realm and have a clear understanding of its workings. Yet, it knows nothing of us, nor of the countless years we've spent scheming to enter the Origin Realm and claim it as part of our domain!"
With a mocking laugh, Harris added, "Before I came here, I extinguished the lingering spiritual essence of the Poison Source. Rest assured, that man Yu Yuan is clueless about the structure of our world!"
"Yu Yuan is exceedingly formidable; he understands the art of refining Primal Anima just as we do!" the Death God, Kurkova, exclaimed.
"And what of it?" retorted Harris of the Bone Tribe, brimming with arrogance. "Now that I've arrived and the conditions are ripe, there's no need for secrecy any longer!"
He continued to gaze at another celestial body, a desolate star crowned by a stark, gray peak.
The mountain's midsection burst open, and a Dark Tower soared from the cavern within.
The Demon God, Bertain, stood atop the Dark Tower, having sought refuge in the Creitecesh to evade the Primal Soul's pursuit, a realm devoid of cosmic energy.
At that moment, the Demon God, faced with the sudden intrusion of the God of Oblivion and the location of the seed, grimaced with annoyance.
"I really am cursed," lamented the big devil, contemplating a swift escape. "Fight your battles without involving me!"
If Harris hadn't shown up and Kurkova had remained silent, he would have been oblivious to the presence of two Otherworldly deities lurking among the stars beside him.
Even Bertain, with all his might, failed to detect when the Space God, Devitt, and Kurkova had stealthily arrived.
Yet, Bertain was aware that these Otherworldly Gods were cognizant of his existence.
The Space God and the Death God were clearly aware of his presence, yet they refrained from striking him. Instead, they concealed themselves within the Wraith Tree. What exactly were they up to?
What purpose did Harris have in seeking him out again?
The big devil sensed ill intent from the newcomers and had no desire to entangle himself in their schemes. He swiftly employed the space magic within the Dark Tower, intending to flee before the Space God could act.
"Greetings, Lord Bertain."
The God of Oblivion, Harris, suddenly appeared in the desolate expanse of space, bowing respectfully to the big devil atop the Dark Tower.
A notable reverence shone in his emerald eyes—a respect he had not shown for the Primal Soul or Yu Yuan.
"We have come as agreed."
With those words, the Wraith Tree that lay buried underground burst forth from the soil.
"Lord Bertain."
The Space God, Devitt, and the Death God, Kurkova, also expressed their respect to the big devil from within the small tree seed, just like Harris had.
"I apologize, Lord Bertain. I previously pretended not to recognize you," Kurkova admitted.
The big devil was taken aback.
Standing at the heart of the Dark Tower, clad in his Golden Dragon Armor and his amethyst demonform, he frowned: "I don't know any of you."
"Haha."
The God of Oblivion, Harris, chuckled as he approached, a tree seed that had burst from the earth drifting towards Bertain.
"Death God, Kurkova, I've only encountered you once before, and that was quite recently."
The Demon God scratched his head in bewilderment. He was baffled by the spectacle before him, as the three Otherworldly deities were paying him homage, their speech and demeanor brimming with awe.
It seemed as though he was the one in a higher position. What was this all about?
"Kurkova, why are you apologizing? And what's this about pretending not to know me? Had we already met before my arrival in the Wasteland?"
The big devil asked, clearly perplexed.
"Yes, we have met before."
"Lord Bertain, after all, you have waged war in our world and once held a position of great power."
The Space God and the Death God within the tree seed urgently and earnestly clarified.
The tree seed subtly transformed, gradually becoming a stream of rainbow-hued divine light, which was then gently stretched out.
The two deities from the Otherworld appeared ready to step forth and halt before Bertain in their authentic forms as a gesture of reverence.
"Lord Bertain, on my journey across the realms, I made sure to bring with me a portion of your memories that you entrusted to me for safekeeping. You wished to keep these memories hidden from the Primal Soul that created you, so I concealed them in our world."
"Should you permit it, I will personally deliver to you this segment of memories that you have left behind."
