C2330 The Old Demon Has Returned

In the Origin Realm, upon the Holy Devil Continent, a vibrant butterfly lingered in the starry expanse, awaiting Devitt's arrival. The presence of the creature gave rise to silver spatial rifts, their mysterious ripples signaling the stability of the spatial laws within.

Surrounding Andrea were the formidable members of the Divine Soul Sect and the remaining elite of the Origin Realm's various races, all pressing for answers. They questioned the allegiance of the Great Demon God Beilstein, who had seemingly become entwined with deities from a foreign realm.

Andrea had opened up to them, yet her knowledge was limited, and her explanations unclear. She recounted only what she had witnessed: her father, revered by an intelligent race within a foreign vacuum, likely a prominent figure in that distant domain.

"Who could have imagined that the Great Demon God, trusted by all races of the Origin Realm, had long since allied with gods from beyond?" muttered the Chaos Roc with a cold snort. Accompanied by the ground beetle, the Monolith Tortoise, and the City of Light, they took flight from the Holy Devil Continent.

Their convergence was driven by the ferocious lightning within the Magic Mountain, capable of dealing a heavy blow to the Origin Soul at the critical moment. Now, with all the mountain's lightning energy dispatched to the vast sea, the Holy Devil Continent's protective power had waned, rendering their continued presence there meaningless.

With a swift whoosh, Jee Ningshuang, wielding the Starfrost Sword, materialized beside the resplendent butterfly. Her eyebrows arched sharply as she declared with piercing clarity, "Foreigner, spirit companion."

Her whispered words summoned several frigid storms around the spirit pet, each one brimming with biting cold. Icicles, sharp as crystal swords, danced through the tempests with formidable force. The icy gales, infused with the Dao of Extreme Coldness and the shattered secrets of the stars that Jee Ningshuang had mastered, swiftly enveloped the butterfly.

The Divine Kings, taken aback by her abrupt action, ceased their interrogation of Andrea. "What are you intending to do?" they demanded.

The Chaos Roc, poised to depart, stroked its chin thoughtfully on the ground beetle, a menacing grin spreading across its face. "Even if you slay this butterfly, escape will elude you."

Upon Devitt's arrival, the spatial laws of the Origin Realm were influenced. Was Ji Ningshuang not fearful for her life, daring to target his spirit companion?

"I was commanded to kill it," Ji Ningshuang replied with crisp certainty.

On the Holy Devil Continent, she had previously been content to simply listen to the conversations around her, offering only a slight nod in greeting to the likes of Han Miaoyuan, the Evil God, and the Devaputras.

Beyond that, she remained indifferent to other matters, including the disturbances within Magic Mountain, the alarming revelations from Andrea, and the tumultuous events unfolding in the Desolate Realm.

Yet, just moments ago, a prismatic ice crystal, adrift somewhere in the Origin Realm, had quietly transmitted a message to her. It compelled her to execute the colorful butterfly that accompanied Devitt, to force the Space God to reveal himself.

She was unsure why the message came so abruptly after a long silence, but she chose to comply.

Gigantic ice storms surged toward the butterfly as she wielded her sword with seeming nonchalance. Each stroke unleashed a dazzling river of sword light, targeting the butterfly Devitt had left behind.

The butterfly, resembling a Void Spirit Succubus, fluttered through the massive ice storms, desperately carving new rifts in the void to evade Ji Ningshuang's sword light.

With a slash, icicles transformed into piercing sword lights within the swirling ice storm, aiming for the escaping butterfly. Despite its Tenth Level lineage, the butterfly's wings soon bore numerous bloody gashes, with vibrant blood spilling into the void.

As it screeched, the butterfly reached out to Devitt with its secret arts, pleading for its master's swift arrival.

Even with its mastery of spatial forces, the butterfly continued to sustain injuries while awaiting its master's appearance, not daring to flee immediately.

"Sword Immortal Ji, what exactly are you... doing?" Yuv Qian inquired, his brow furrowed in concern.

They had been gathering more information about Beilstein from Andrea, intent on unraveling the truth. Yet, they hadn't anticipated that Ji Ningshuang, who typically shunned worldly affairs, would suddenly strike at the butterfly.

With Ji Ningshuang's intervention, they now faced the imminent prospect of confronting Devitt, and perhaps other deities from foreign realms.

Yuv Qian, having been born an Outland Devaputra, held Beilstein in high esteem. He was unwilling to accept the notion that his spiritual mentor could conspire with foreign deities to endanger the Origin Realm.

Jee Ningshuang ignored him, unleashing even more dazzling arcs of her sword, cutting through the butterflies fluttering amidst the ice storm. The shrill cries of the butterflies grew increasingly piercing.

With a whoosh, the Space God, Devitt, appeared, his expression stern.

This deity from another realm, witnessing the barrage of ice-edged sword light and the colossal ice storms encircling the butterflies, called out sharply, "Void Cut!"

The spatial rifts, brought forth by the butterflies, had been still until now. But under Devitt's influence, they twisted and interwove in the air as if seized by an unseen force.

Crack! Crack!

The void before Devitt fractured like a massive mirror, revealing jagged shards of broken space.

The lethal beams of light from Jee Ningshuang's Divine Sword of Ice entered one vertical 'mirror' only to emerge from another, laid out horizontally. The numerous 'ice storms' were also shredded into fragments as Devitt unleashed his power.

Jee Ningshuang's intense offensive was neutralized by the Space God, Devitt, with a mere command of "Void Cut."

"I sense it—the extreme cold from a distant place," Devitt said, his tone icy. Through the scattered 'mirrors' surrounding the butterfly, he regarded Jee Ningshuang as if from another world. "In our realm, many powerful beings covet such a primal essence of cold, seeking to assimilate it to break free from their bonds."

"This is Lord Beilstein's domain, where no one dares to intrude without cause, hence the extreme cold remains untouched."

Devitt's gaze hardened as he declared, "Since he has dared to challenge us, I will not indulge him. Young lady, you either refine it, or... I will have someone else come and take care of it."

He was well aware of the precise location of the extreme cold's source spirit within this realm.

Devitt was prepared to set out and secure the extreme cold, intending to summon warriors from the other side and offer the source spirit of extreme cold as a bargaining chip.

"Enough, Devitt. Your presence is no longer required here."

As he was about to delve deeper into his speech, a boisterous laugh echoed from within Magic Mountain.

"Beilstein!"

"Indeed, it is the Great Demon God, Beilstein!"

All eyes and attention were instinctively drawn to the source of the voice.

"Father..."

Adorned in a snug purple battle robe with golden trim, Andrea looked on from above the Tears of Blue Devil, her expression a mix of emotions as she murmured softly.

She knew that her father had made a successful return, thanks to the Space God Devitt's arrival.

Whoosh!

The Great Demon God Beilstein, donning an expansive blood-red cloak, materialized alongside Devitt's vibrant butterfly.

From across the butterfly's wings, he cheerfully regarded Jee Ningshuang and the mighty figures of the Holy Devil Continent, beckoning with a smile, "Well done, well done. You've all lived up to my expectations."

"Hey, you..."

His gaze briefly met the Chaos Roc, and with a shake of his head, he remarked, "You're even slower than Lvliu."

At those words, the Chaos Roc's face turned as sour as could be, clearly touched on a sore spot.

"Old Patriarch!"

Yuv Qian called out, piloting the Aura Altar away from the Holy Devil Continent. This Devaputra, who had long revered Beilstein, declared with fervor, "Old Patriarch, I, Yuv Qian, have faith in you!"

"Ha! You're my own protégé; you've certainly not let me down," the old demon cackled with delight.

His voluminous blood-red cloak billowed like a manifestation of his demonic form against the backdrop of the cosmos.

Within the cloak, his Devil Soul lay concealed, and at the heart of this soul form, a peculiar orb of light spun slowly, exuding the mysteries of numerous profound Dao.

The orb seemed to pulse like a heart.

"Lord Beilstein, the Chaos Orb you've cultivated is increasingly formidable."

Devitt offered a respectful salute. From his position on the other butterfly wing, he observed the light orb nestled within the folds of Beilstein's cloak at his chest, and commented, "With this Chaos Orb, you're sure to shatter the Heart of Vast Water and assimilate the entity within."

The elder demon, freshly returned from foreign lands, responded to the words with a hearty laugh.

Then, with a casual wave of his hand, he prompted, "Proceed to the Gal Starfield in the Desolate Realm."

He commanded the Space God from the foreign realm with the authority of a superior.

The Space God appeared accustomed to such treatment, offering a slight nod. He didn't press the issue of his colorful butterfly being harmed by Ji Ningshuang, nor did he ask any further questions before slipping into one of the rifts in space.

His spiritual companion, a colorful butterfly of Tenth Level lineage, had indeed been entrusted to the Great Demon God Beilstein.
