C2334 The Gluttony God

In the Otherworld, a land surged with flames as strange power crackled in the void, scattering countless sparks.

Hovering above the fiery sea of the Star River, a dark red continent floated, glowing like a red-hot branding iron.

Sizzle, sizzle!

This vast expanse of land was heaped with seas of flesh and blood, roasting in the flames and releasing an unusual, tantalizing aroma.

The thick vital energy hung in the air above the iron-like terrain, whetting the appetites of all who smelled it.

Two enormous dire beasts were locked in a brutal struggle on this oddly flat expanse.

The little Primal Beast assumed a hazy phoenix shape, its wings sharp as blades, unleashing a myriad of dazzling, blood-colored lightning.

Enveloped in a purple sea brimming with lightning and thunder, the Secrets of Life from the Origin Realm and the Wasteland manifested as numerous alien beasts and cosmic giant beasts, all converging on the river's master, the Gluttony God Chai En.

Chai En, the Gluttony God, with a body spanning one-tenth of the land, bore a human face on a goat's body, complete with fearsome tiger claws.

The creature's skin, red as granite, appeared as hard as metal, unfazed by the scorching land beneath or the Cometfire billowing from below.

Beneath his neck, another ghastly maw seemed to be eternally chewing something.

The eerie sounds from this gaping mouth stirred an intense hunger in all living beings.

As the little Primal Beast battled, it swallowed hard, unable to resist the temptation of the abundant flesh strewn across the land.

Piles of succulent, roasted meat, dripping with fat and rich in scent, often distracted the Primal Beast from the Gluttony God's vicious attacks, compelling it to snatch and devour the chunks of meat in its path.

Each time, its violet-gold phoenix wings would be torn by the Celestial Plume.

Moreover, the ingested flesh concealed powers that confounded its bloodline mysteries, hindering its ability to finely control its own form.

Yet the little Primal Beast remained heedless.

Unable to curb its voracious hunger, it would occasionally lash out at the surrounding food, leaving itself riddled with injuries.

The little Primal Beast continued to fight and feast, all the while... excreting.

Despite its origins in the Wasteland, the small Primal Beast managed to inflict numerous wounds on the Gluttony God with its incredibly sharp wings.

Judging by the situation, had the little Primal Beast resisted the urge to consume the tempting cooked meat, the Gluttony God from the Otherworld would likely have been defeated by now.

Whoosh!

The Book of Time materialized out of nowhere.

Yu Yuan and Zhong Chichen hovered above the land amidst a sea of flames, gazing down at the fierce clash between the Gluttony God Chai En and the little Primal Beast.

"The Gluttony God is a formidable Primal Beast and a deity of the river," Zhong Chichen said with a grave tone, enlightening Yu Yuan. "He has three equally formidable companions, shrouded in mystery like himself. One, the most ancient among them, is said to have been slain by Lord Bertain."

Yu Yuan nodded slightly, signaling his keen interest in the conversation.

The Gluttony God, with the face of a man and the body of a goat, seemed to command the insatiable hunger of all creatures. Upon halting here and catching the scent of the meat below, he too felt an overwhelming urge to gorge himself.

The golden, succulent pieces of meat being roasted exuded a fragrance that transformed into a malevolent force, slowly corrupting his spiritual wisdom.

"Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!"

The Gluttony God, with his hybrid form, swung his tiger claws, sharp as iron hooks, tearing through the viscous purple sea and stripping feathers from the Primal Beast's phoenix wings.

The purple feathers solidified into violet crystal shards in the grasp of the Gluttony God's tiger claws, radiating a divine glow akin to jade.

Suddenly, Chai En's eyes gleamed with excitement. He shoved the violet crystal shards into his gaping maw, chewing vigorously, and his presence became even more imposing.

"Wow! Wow! Wow!"

Chai En, the Gluttony God, let out a series of unintelligible cries, filled with excitement and pride, which even Zhong Chichen couldn't comprehend.

"I have no idea what he's shrieking about."

Zhong Chichen shook his head, speaking to himself, "These Primal Beasts appear to possess their own distinct civilization. Oddly enough, this small Primal Beast from the Wasteland seems to understand them as well."

During its time in the Wasteland, Zhiya nourished it with the primal source, which enabled it to grow robust and strong." Yu Yuan squinted as he observed the little Primal Beast, still undiminished in strength despite being tainted by the Gluttony God's strange power. He remarked, "Its true power likely surpasses that of the Gluttony God. It's just come of age."

"Moreover, it hasn't yet mastered the use of the powers within its body."

To Yu Yuan, the little Primal Beast was merely an adolescent, inexperienced and ill-prepared for the temptations of the Otherworld.

A touch of greed had it reeling, lost and confused.

Yet, once it matures through combat and taps into a fraction of its potential, Chai En, known as the Gluttony God, would surely be no match for it.

"I understand," Yu Yuan said with a casual smile. "He's berating the little Primal Beast for its lack of manners, saying it knew full well that the region belonged to him, yet it barged in without so much as a hello, wreaking havoc in his domain."

"Chai En is also questioning its origins, saying he's never seen another of its kind before and is asking who the little Primal Beast really is."

Yu Yuan clarified for Zhong Chichen.

"How do you know that?" Zhong Chichen asked, astonished.

Yu Yuan just smiled and didn't reply but instead posed another question: "This creature, is it the Primal Beast from one of the Otherworld's thirty-six worlds, the Gluttony God of the Realm?"

"Exactly, he's one of the deities of the Otherworld," Zhong Chichen confirmed earnestly.

Yu Yuan gave a slight nod. His real body descended, and he gazed intently at the Gluttony God below.

Within the Blood Altar of the Soul Altar in his mind, the vibrant red heart corresponding to the Abyss's Primal Blood pulsed rhythmically, revealing an enigmatic Life Seed.

A message was instantaneously etched into his memory.

Gluttony, a Chaos Titan, delighted in voracious feasting.

With a series of swooshes, the Life Seed sparkled within the crimson heart, and the intricate bloodline chains, brimming with power and essence, were all vividly presented.

The Life Seed abruptly halted its motion, transforming into a dire beast that bore a striking resemblance to the Gluttony God below!

In that instant, Yu Yuan found himself devoid of any hunger. The once enticing aroma of cooked meat lost all appeal to him.

"How strange, truly strange."

Yu Yuan murmured, summoning the Soul Altar from his sea of consciousness to hover above his head.

A deep crimson light burst forth from the Blood Altar at its summit, casting its glow upon the land beneath.

Wu!

At the core, the Life Seed, which was the Dark Phoenix Zhiya's young Primal Beast, snapped out of its voracious feeding frenzy. It whimpered in terror and quickly broke free from the Gluttony God.

The little Primal Beast lifted its head, comically nodding and bowing before making a swift escape.

Despite its eagerness to defeat and devour the otherworldly deity, it was far more frightened of the Soul Altar above Yu Yuan's head, forcing it to beat a hasty retreat.

"Should we pursue it?"

Zhong Chichen asked, his face etched with astonishment.

He was about to activate the Book of Time to pursue the little Primal Beast when he suddenly froze.

"What's happening now?"

Zhong Chichen, incredulous, rubbed his eyes as he stared at the scorched earth where the Gluttony God, only moments before locked in combat, now stood. "Chai En, what trickery is this? You're..."

On the blood-red ground, Chai En, the Gluttony God, strained to lift his head. His once savage and fierce visage now displayed an air of reverence.

In the Otherworld, this Gluttony God, a sovereign of his domain, now lay prostrate on the ground.

Abruptly, he supported himself on his hind tiger claws, then lifted his front claws high, worshipping the Soul Altar above Yu Yuan's head with continuous, peculiar chants.

Zhong Chichen was utterly baffled, but Yu Yuan understood clearly.

The Gluttony God from the Otherworld was uttering, "I bow to the Creator."
