C295 Su Yan's Request!

Yu Yuan landed with grace.

The resplendent ring of starlight that had escorted him from the Fallen Star Eyes soared back into the heavens.

"Yu Yuan!"

A cry of surprise echoed once again.

As Yu Yuan was about to touch down, he recognized a familiar face and remarked, "Susu, what brings you here?"

He then turned to Su Xiangtian, offering a respectful bow. "Greetings, Elder Su."

He found himself a considerable distance from Wei Feng and Qin Yun, and even further from the mid-lake island.

It seemed he was on the opposite side of the fray involving the Blackfang Legion, the Silverfrost Dragon, the Thunder Sect, and the Winter's Bite powerhouses.

He stood in a damp forest, where the strikingly beautiful Su Yan and Su Xiangtian were accompanied by several unfamiliar figures.

Their attire suggested they hailed from Euwrea, likely the Abyssal Dawn Sect.

The Abyssal Dawn, one of the seven lower sects, was ranked just below Winter's Bite on the continent.

Adjacent to each other, the Abyssal Dawn and Winter's Bite sects, despite both being among the seven lower sects, had a history of discord and frequent skirmishes.

Their disciples often engaged in open and covert battles while journeying abroad.

The Abyssal Dawn Sect enjoyed a commendable reputation throughout the Everlands, truly deserving of the title of an honorable sect.

Many of its cultivators who ventured to the southern regions of the Land of Quiescence were met with high regard by members of the Order of Healing, the Artifact Sect, and the Skyreach Consortium.

The Su family duo seemed to be in the company of individuals from the Abyssal Dawn Sect.

Yu Yuan's thoughts stirred as he remembered that the father-daughter pair had been absent for some time, with few within the Su family aware of their whereabouts.

"Did you just descend from the Fallen Star Eyes?"

An elderly man with white at his temples, his spirit undimmed, inquired with curiosity, impressed by Yu Yuan's distinguished presence.

"Fallen Star Eyes!" Su Xiangtian exclaimed, taken aback.

Su Yan gasped softly, "Could it truly be the Fallen Star Eyes?"

"Indeed," Yu Yuan confirmed without hesitation.

"Xiao Yan, who is this man?" the elder from the Abyssal Dawn Sect pressed, even after Su Yan had uttered Yu Yuan's name.

From the name alone, he seemed unable to ascertain Yu Yuan's origins.

"Elder Yang, his name is Yu Yuan, from the Yu family in Asvetaesi, within the Silvermoon Empire," Su Yan introduced promptly. "He's a very, very good friend of mine."

Yang Yinquan uttered an "Oh," inwardly astonished. He wondered how Yu Yuan had come to be in the Moonfall Sanctuary and why he had been sent down from the heavens by the light of the Fallen Star Eyes.

Su Xiangtian and Su Yan had not shared the details of what happened in the Moonfall Sanctuary with the Abyssal Dawn Sect, so they were unaware of Yu Yuan's significant presence there.

Yang Yinquan was aware, however, that Liu Ying, who now controlled the Fallen Star Eyes, may have seemed approachable, but was actually quite indifferent and whimsical by nature. It was not common for her to extend an invitation to the Fallen Star Eyes.

Given that Yu Yuan had come from the Fallen Star Eyes, Yang Yinquan couldn't help but regard him more highly.

"Susu, what brings you here?" inquired Yu Yuan.

Three hundred years ago, the expansive yet desolate land to the north of Thylethlume, bordering the Sunblessed Empire, had no particular name. Yu Yuan had explored the region aboard a Sky Chariot, finding the divine force scarce and the land rife with poison—hardly suitable for cultivators to practice their craft over extended periods.

Yet, after speaking with Liu Ying, he learned that this once nameless region had been privately dubbed the Forgotten Ruins by the sects of the Euwrea Continent. Clearly, the sects must have uncovered something extraordinary there to warrant such attention and a name.

Liu Ying's arrival here with the Fallen Star Eyes, the Blackfang Legion commander's defection with his remaining troops, Wei Feng's presence, and the sudden appearance of the blue-clothed youth from the Ethereal Void Sect—all pointed to the significance of this place. And now, with the arrival of representatives from the Abyssal Dawn Sect, as well as Su Xiangtian, Su Yan, and her father, the gathering was complete.

Yu Yuan began to wonder if something peculiar had recently occurred in the Forgotten Ruins, a place he had been monitoring for three hundred years. What else could explain the sudden influx of numerous sects?

Lei Xiao and Liu Wei had also recently taken their sect's disciples on a training expedition.

"We've only just arrived," Su Yan said, instinctively casting a glance at Yang Yinquan.

Yang Yinquan, brimming with vitality, gave a light cough and shook his head.

With a sense of resignation, Su Yan's bright eyes conveyed an apology. "Due to certain events, we happened to pass by the Forgotten Ruins on our way back to the Empire. We didn't anticipate encountering a battle. Not wanting to get involved or take a detour, we decided to wait it out here."

Su Xiangtian, the current head of the Su family, was a man of few words and offered little to the conversation.

His gaze lingered on Yu Yuan, pondering the reason for his presence and the nature of his connection to Liu Ying, who wielded the Fallen Star Eyes above.

Having recently returned to Euwrea with his daughter, Su Xiangtian was well-informed about the affairs of the seven lower sects.

He was aware of Liu Ying's esteemed status within the Starmoon Sect of the Sunblessed Empire and her formidable talent for cultivation.

Liu Ying, renowned throughout Euwrea, had used the power of the Fallen Star Eyes to send Yu Yuan down from the heavens. What allure did this young man, who had emerged out of obscurity in Asvetaesi, possess?

Su Xiangtian was also privy to the fact that the Chief Elder of Winter's Bite, a rival to the Abyssal Dawn, had been lavishing praise on Lin Zhuyun and taking great care in her development.

The extent to which Winter's Bite valued Lin Zhuyun was matched only by the disdain some held for Yu Yuan, her nominal fiancé.

Furthermore, Su Xiangtian had learned that the Chief Elder had secretly selected a prospective suitor for Lin Zhuyun upon their first meeting—a distinguished young man from the Sunlit Order.

This suitor had promptly visited upon Lin Zhuyun's advancement to the Veil Breaking Realm and her subsequent invitation to Winter's Bite. Pleased with her, he had urged the Chief Elder to expedite the dissolution of her existing betrothal.

The young master of the modest Yu family might not even realize that he has caught the attention of some on the Euwrea Continent. There may come a day when disaster strikes him out of the blue, and he meets an untimely end.

"The Forgotten Ruins are currently unsafe. You, young one, should take a detour back to the Silvermoon Empire as soon as you can," Yang Yinquan of the Abyssal Dawn advised kindly.

The Su family father and daughter, privy to the situation, also gave Yu Yuan a slight nod, signaling that he would be wise to heed the advice.

Yu Yuan, who didn't need Yang Yinquan's warning to suspect something was amiss with the Forgotten Ruins, thought for a moment before suddenly saying, "Susu, I'd like to have a word with you."

"Of course," Su Yan replied cheerfully.

She assured Su Xiangtian and Yang Yinquan, "You both know me; I'm not one to speak carelessly. It's been over a year since Yu and I parted ways. We'll just be catching up on old times."

Su Xiangtian was the first to nod in agreement.

Yang Yinquan watched her with a tender smile and said, "No problem. Have your chat. Just remind him to make his way back to the Silvermoon Empire as quickly as possible."

"Will do," Su Yan responded, nodding vigorously.

Yang Yinquan then glanced at the other cultivators of the Abyssal Dawn and suggested to Su Xiangtian, "Let's take a stroll."

Soon, Yu Yuan and Su Yan were the only two left in the vicinity.

Yu Yuan seemed to be on the verge of speaking but hesitated.

"Don't worry, they won't overhear our conversation," Su Yan chided him with a playful roll of her eyes, as if to scold him for his caution, "We've only just returned from the Euwrea Continent and are completely out of the loop regarding the Empire's affairs. When did you emerge from the Moonfall Sanctuary? And what exactly happened to you before?"

Yu Yuan sidestepped the events at the Serpent Spine Mountains, sharing only that he had been training in the Moonfall Sanctuary. Once he had attained the Golden Sanctum level, he traversed the forbidden area and returned home.

"Before you vanished, you looked after the Yu family quite a bit. I'm grateful for that," Yu Yuan finally said.

"That's only right," Su Yan replied with a sweet smile. "If it hadn't been for you, many of us wouldn't have made it out of the Moonfall Sanctuary alive. After we got out, everyone thought you had met with misfortune, but I always held onto the belief that you were safe. Seeing you now, I know my intuition was correct."

"You've joined the Abyssal Dawn Sect?" Yu Yuan inquired.

Su Yan was forthright in her response. "The Abyssal Dawn chose me quite some time ago. As soon as I reached the Veil Breaking level, I was to go to the sect and officially be recorded in the genealogy. After emerging from the Moonfall Sanctuary, having attained Veil Breaking, I waited in Asvetaesi until representatives from the Abyssal Dawn arrived. Then, my father and I journeyed to Euwrea."

Yu Yuan gave a slight nod, understanding. "I see."

The divine force in both Euwrea and the Land of Quiescence is significantly denser and purer than in Aetherius. In many areas, the harsh natural conditions make it difficult for those below the Veil Breaking Stage to cope.

For this reason, these two continents only accept disciples who have reached the Veil Breaking Realm.

Another point to consider is that traveling from Aetherius to these continents via a teleportation circle, as opposed to crossing the vast seas, requires the cultivation level of Veil Breaking. At this stage, the middle elixir field opens, and the eight extra-channels clear, allowing for a second forging and refinement of the internal organs.

Only those with a sufficiently robust physique can endure the violent spatial fluctuations of the teleportation circle without sustaining severe injuries. In extreme cases, those of lower realms could suffer fatal internal damage within the circle.

"I've just come back from the Abyssal Dawn and appeared in the Forgotten Ruins," Yu Yuan mentioned, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "Is there a teleportation circle hidden deep within the Forgotten Ruins that directly connects to Aetherius? And did representatives from the Thunder Sect, Winter's Bite, Ethereal Void Sect, and Starmoon Sect all use that circle?"

Su Yan looked surprised. "You seem to know quite a bit."

"Does that teleportation circle belong to the Ethereal Void Sect?" Yu Yuan pressed on. "And there's a young man from the sect, dressed in blue and riding a sword—do you recognize him?"

"That's correct. The teleportation circle in the depths of the Forgotten Ruins is indeed managed by the Ethereal Void Sect," Su Yan confirmed, her expression growing serious. "This man with the surname Wang from the Ethereal Void Sect—have you met him?"

Yu Yuan gestured towards the heavens and said, "At this moment, he should be in the Fallen Star Eyes."

"Yu Yuan, can you find a way to help me kill him?" Su Yan implored suddenly.

"Kill him?" Yu Yuan exclaimed in surprise.
