C453 The Gathering of the Evil!

Mo Yan's declaration left the northern Quietus Continent's brightest minds utterly flabbergasted.

Yu Yuan, a source of apprehension for Mo Yan?

Impossible, right?

Lin Zhuyun, who had been captured and placed within the glass bottle, was slowly regaining her wits and overheard their exchange. Despite the shock of Tang Can's death and her dire circumstances, Lin Zhuyun, her face ashen, couldn't fathom the reality before her.

Could the man she had always scorned, her fiancé in name only, truly possess such formidable strength?

"How can this be?"

Even Yan Lu, Yu Yuan's staunch supporter, was shaking his head in disbelief, struggling to accept the truth.

"You know nothing!"

Mo Yan regarded the stunned onlookers with disdain, internally scoffing, "If I told you that Yu Yuan has cultivated eight refined Yellow Court acupoints inside the Evil Cauldron, you'd probably die of shock!"

Naturally, Mo Yan was cautious around someone with eight refined Yellow Court acupoints, wielding a mysterious sword sheath, and traveling to Ember Waters aboard the Silver Rainbow Magic Shuttle.

And let's not forget, Lau Ying and Kong Banbi were forces to be reckoned with.

"Let them follow if they wish; no explanations needed," Mo Yan commanded. "Our departure is also a precaution to avoid the Blood Sacrificial Altar's pursuit. Yet, it's odd. After such a fierce battle and countless deaths, the altar didn't seem to detect it immediately, nor is there any sign of it drawing near."

He glanced at the Devil Blade hovering behind him, which seemed to resonate with the presence of the Blood Sacrificial Altar.

...

"The young man from the Devil Palace who emerged from the Evil Cauldron, his name and background are unknown to me."

Kong Banbi of the Sword Sect gazed in the direction of the glass bottle, musing, "That Devil Blade is likely the famed Kyara Demon Blade."

"Kyara Demon Blade!" Du Huang exclaimed, taken aback.

Kong Banbi gave a slow, confirming nod, "It seems to be the case."

Yu Yuan, fixated on the Chaos Roc, was also taken aback by the revelation, "So it's the Kyara Demon Blade!"

"Have you heard about it too?" Lau Ying inquired with a hint of surprise.

Yu Yuan gave a confirmatory hum, "I've caught wind of it."

In his past life, a friend from the Devil Palace had mentioned the Kyara Demon Blade to him. It was a weapon forged by an Unrestrained Stage cultivator in the Palace's early days.

That cultivator had apparently discovered a fragment of an incredibly heavy star beyond the Boundless Land, extracting its essence with powerful sorcery to infuse it into the blade.

Thus, the weapon was named the Kyara Demon Blade.

Rumor had it that the blade's weight was beyond belief. In battle, its sheer mass could obliterate any resistance.

Recalling the scene where the Kyara Demon Blade cleaved through the Rosy Jenny, causing it to burst, Yu Yuan considered Kong Banbi's account highly plausible.

The blade first shattered the orb, its oppressive force rendering Lu Baichan immobile, setting the stage for the lightning devil light to bisect her.

In its subsequent strikes, the Devil Blade seemed to leverage its formidable heft to secure an insurmountable advantage.

Given the Kyara Demon Blade's extreme weight, it would be nearly impossible for Mo Yan to wield it under normal circumstances.

Fortunately, the blade now lay beneath the sea, where the water's buoyancy might just assist Mo Yan in managing the unwieldy Kyara Demon Blade.

"The cultivator who tempered the Devil Blade is said to have perished in a campaign beyond the Devil Palace's realm. After his death, the blade vanished. How it came to be in Mo Yan's possession is a mystery," Du Huang remarked, his initial astonishment giving way to curiosity. "My sect's elders claim that the Kyara Demon Blade was once a Heaven Level Ninth Grade Artifact, with the potential to ascend to Divine Artifact status once its creator reached the Primordial Spirit stage."

Kong Banbi nodded in agreement, "Had that individual survived, the Kyara Demon Blade's transformation into a Divine Artifact would have been a certainty."

"Exactly who is Mo Yan?" Lau Ying asked, taken aback.

"That remains unclear," Kong Banbi replied, "The defining trait of the Kyara Demon Blade is its immense weight. As for sharpness... that's hardly its forte. When used against the deep blue veil, the blade's ponderous force should be evenly dispersed. Mo Yan must be well aware of the blade's unique properties, which are ill-suited for direct strikes. That's likely why he's relying on Chi Nandou's assistance."

"That Mo Yan must be someone of significance!" exclaimed Du Huang.

As they mulled over Mo Yan and the formidable nature of the Kyara Demon Blade, a sense of trepidation filled their hearts.

Unbeknownst to them, within a nearby glass bottle, Mo Yan himself refrained from any hasty actions due to Yu Yuan and the scabbard he possessed.

Upon learning that the Devil Blade was indeed the Kyara Demon Blade, Yu Yuan fixed his gaze on the Chaos Roc and inquired, "What do you know about Mo Yan? Is his Devil Blade truly the Kyara Demon Blade?"

"I'm not acquainted with him," the Chaos Roc responded telepathically. "Once we break through the deep blue veil, we'll each go our way without meddling in each other's affairs. Rest assured, I won't disclose anything. I'm not of the demon kind, and I won't let you be tarnished with the reputation of conspiring with an extraterrestrial being."

Yu Yuan communicated his indifference through thought: "That doesn't concern me."

"It appears something is following us..."

Lau Ying, her consciousness intertwined with the Fallen Star Eyes, furrowed her brows and gently touched the luminous stone platform capable of revealing numerous oddities.

The platform shone brightly, revealing faint traces of peculiar smoke.

The smoke morphed continuously, now taking on a fierce visage, now a look of terror, and at times, it was tinged with despair and helplessness. It was quite bizarre.

The smoke lacked any extraordinary spiritual energy or consciousness; it seemed to be merely an emotional state.

Without the Fallen Star Eyes, Lau Ying, despite her cultivation level and realm, might not have detected it.

The smoke was an intangible entity, more elusive than spiritual consciousness, and only the potency of the Fallen Star Eyes allowed its reflection, revealing its seemingly leisurely yet swift pursuit.

"What is this?" Su Yan leaned in for a closer look, her gaze intent on the enigmatic smoke, yet unable to discern its nature.

Kong Banbi, Du Huang, and several survivors from the Sword Sect and Ancient Desolate Sect watched the enigmatic smoke cloud shift and change, their curiosity piqued.

Kong Banbi of the Sword Sect, momentarily taken aback, shuddered and abruptly turned his attention to Yu Yuan.

His insight exceeded that of many others present.

He often spent time in the Sword Sect's Ancient Scroll Pavilion, perusing numerous fragmented texts and lost tomes, which gave him a rudimentary understanding of a variety of peculiar artifacts and phenomena.

Had the smoky cloud not been illuminated by the Fallen Star Eyes, constantly shifting and taking shape, he might never have guessed its nature.

"What is it?" Du Huang demanded.

Lau Ying glanced his way, discerning from the slight shifts in his demeanor that the Sword Sect's leader had likely noticed something extraordinary.

"It's an evil spirit..."

Kong Banbi said this while gazing at Yu Yuan. "Be it a mortal or a cultivator, the emotions experienced just before death can coalesce into an evil spirit. An evil spirit is merely a manifestation of mental emotion, distinct from spiritual power, life force, or soul consciousness. Typically, an evil spirit dissipates quickly, soon ceasing to exist."

"However, in certain unusual places, influenced by other strange forces, an evil spirit may linger for an extended period without naturally fading away."

"Over time, an evil spirit that does not disperse can undergo a remarkable transformation, solidifying into an evil spirit. Once formed, it begins to accumulate various energies, growing stronger gradually."

"Most evil spirits lack sentience and intelligence; they operate purely on instinct."

"Only those who are well-versed in these matters can locate evil spirits and harness them. By refining them, these experts can imbue the spirits with intelligence, enabling them to act in accordance with their will."

"An evil spirit that can comprehend commands and possesses intelligence is known as an Evil Demon."

Kong Banbi elaborated meticulously.

"Evil Demon!"

"Evil Sect!"

Su Yan and Du Huang exclaimed, looking at Yu Yuan with astonishment.

The Soul Sound of the Chaos Roc echoed in Yu Yuan's heart lake.

Yu Yuan remained composed. "I've practiced the Evil Body Refining Skill of the Evil Sect. Once I advance to the Profound Break Stage, I might naturally attract the nascent evil qi."

"It's not as straightforward as you think," Kong Banbi countered, shaking his head. "You didn't employ the Evil Body Refining Skill within the Fallen Star Eyes, nor did you draw the evil qi to you. Moreover, since you've departed with the Fallen Star Eyes, those unintelligent essences, which don't even qualify as evil spirits, won't follow."

Yu Yuan fell silent. "Kong Banbi, what are you getting at?"

"Do you have the Evil Cauldron with you?" Kong Banbi inhaled deeply. "In this world, the Evil Cauldron isn't the only thing that can exert such a significant influence on evil qi. Yet, within the Ember Waters, I can't think of anything else that could attract evil qi to spontaneously converge like the Evil Cauldron does."

Upon uttering these words, the small eyes of the Chaos Roc gleamed with a terrifying intensity.
