C461 Good Tradition

The sword light formed a cage within the sea, relentlessly assaulted by the Chaos Roc's barrage.

Its body, clad in scales as durable as divine iron, was once withered and shriveled. Now, it surged with boundless might, unleashing columns of grayish-brown light.

Totem pillars blazed with bewitching light, and the furious roars of ancient demons thundered forth.

The Chaos Roc, trapped within this luminous prison, unleashed a power so explosive it could shake the heavens and the earth.

Whether driven by panic or sensing the imminent arrival of the Blood Sacrifice Altar, readying for a last stand, it was clear that its madness was escalating.

Yet, the Fallen Star Eyes were slowly receding into the distance.

Inside the cage, the Chaos Roc's eyes—one crimson, the other pearly white—shone like fierce lanterns, casting a wild and ferocious glow as they fixed on Yu Yuan through the water.

Yu Yuan's face remained as serene as a still well, untouched by fear.

He continued to hold Lau Ying's hand, the two standing shoulder to shoulder. He was handsome and carefree; she, celestial like a starry goddess. Together, they presented a picture of divine harmony.

Holding the sword sheath, he casually gestured toward the Chaos Roc and said with a light chuckle, "This creature from beyond has eyes full of mystery and wonder. One eye blazes like the sun, the other cool as the moon's soul. I'm quite tempted to pluck them out and toy with them in my hand."

"Palm, palm..."

Lau Ying's heart lake stirred as she noticed the collective gaze upon them.

Du Huang and Kong Banbi wore peculiar expressions, lost in contemplation.

Su Yan of the Taiyuan Sect had eyes dark and unfathomable, like a deep mountain pool, her thoughts concealed within.

"I'm alright now," Lau Ying said, shaking her head with a touch of shyness. "You can stop channeling your spiritual energy to heal me."

"Healing?" Du Huang's face showed a flicker of interest.

"Yu Yuan, will those sword lights hold him?" Kong Banbi, more concerned with their collective safety, asked, "What exactly is this ancient being that has come from the stars?"

"He appears to be a Starry Behemoth. In an age when humans had yet to discover the path of cultivation and the Nagas and demons dominated the Boundless Land, he tore through the starry sky's barrier to arrive here. Alas, after being captured by a coalition of powerful demons, he was imprisoned at the sea's bottom."

Yu Yuan released Lau Ying's hand with a smile and casually introduced the figure before them. "This is Chaos Roc. You can gauge his former strength by the ancient totem pillars of the Demon Race and the Nagas. Sword light can confine him, but only for a brief time."

Unease and panic still gripped everyone within the Fallen Star Eyes.

Their anxiety intensified after Yu Yuan's words. The sword light was insufficient to hold him, the Blood Offering Altar loomed near, and the transformed evil spirit from the Heavenly Demon loomed—how Yu Yuan could still smile was beyond anyone's guess.

Swoosh! The Fallen Star Eyes darted above the shifting evil spirit.

The Evil Cauldron within Yu Yuan's chest, moving in sync with him, suddenly stirred, seemingly eager to break free and unite with the evil spirit. He snorted, and strands of Qi and blood coiled around the cauldron like chains.

The Evil Body Refining Skill awoke the refined Qi and blood within Yu Yuan's veins and bones, generating a pull on the Evil Cauldron and preventing its escape.

The evil spirit on the seabed of sand transformed into a luminous blue figure, advancing toward the Evil Cauldron. A formation of white bone spears, woven with the power of lost souls and Qi and blood, surged into action.

A white rainbow, swift as lightning, carrying the wails of lost souls and their spectral powers, struck the evil spirit. The blue figure, beneath the sea, was penetrated by the white lightning, its upward surge halted by the soul-piercing abilities of the Bone Devouring Shuttle.

The instinct-driven evil spirit had not anticipated the presence of the Fiend Sect's Bone Devouring Shuttle within the glass bottle—an item that could bind it and prevent its escape. Otherwise, had it shattered the bottle and invaded the Quietus Continent, the Fiend Sect's elite would have faced devastating losses, their lives nearly forfeit to its hunger.

"The Fallen Star Eyes have arrived," Fei Yi of the Devil Palace murmured, stealthily appearing behind Mo Yan to offer a quiet warning.

"I'm not blind," Mo Yan retorted coolly, gripping the Kyara Demon Blade. Through the shimmering light of the glass bottle, he observed Yu Yuan with a furrowed brow.

After Yu Yuan's departure, the Chaos Roc remained trapped within the confines of the sword light's prison in the original sea.

Lin Yue, Hou Tianzhao, Chi Nandou, and the others now understood that the emaciated elder ensnared by the sword light was indeed the Chaos Roc that Mo Yan had spoken of—the mysterious fish that had raised so many doubts.

The strands of sword light that had sprung from Yu Yuan's scabbard were powerful enough to prevent the Chaos Roc from breaking free, indirectly validating Mo Yan's claim—he might not be a match for Yu Yuan.

They had truly come to appreciate the formidable nature of that scabbard, recognizing its extraordinary qualities.

"Did Heixun tell you everything?"

With a huff, Mo Yan addressed Yu Yuan across the sea, "We both know full well the ferocity and terror of the Chaos Roc. With the Blood Offering Altar drawing near, what are your plans now?"

"What are your plans?" Yu Yuan countered.

At that moment, with only a few meters separating the glass bottle and the Fallen Star Eyes, the spells cast by Chi Nandou and Lau Ying allowed the voices of both parties to be heard by one another.

They were on the verge of joining forces.

In the Boundless Land, factions from the Quietus Continent and the Heavenly Source Continent would set aside past grievances and band together when facing extraterrestrial threats.

This noble tradition had been handed down through the ages.

Now, within the confines of the world rather than beyond the stars, the younger generation, yet to reach the Yang God Stage, found themselves upholding this venerable practice in the face of the sudden emergence of the Chaos Roc, the Tears of Blue Devil, and a peculiar evil spirit.

"The prison of interwoven sword light, connected to the Sword Sect, will continue to hold the Chaos Roc captive," Mo Yan declared, having already made up his mind, "We'll move swiftly to the fringes of the deep blue veil. Using the Fallen Star Eyes, the glass bottle, and the Bone Devouring Shuttle, we'll attempt to pierce through the sealed barrier."

"As soon as an opening appears in the sea's seal, we'll make our escape."

"By then, even if the Chaos Roc has managed to free itself from the sword light's prison, we'll have already found our way out."

As Mo Yan laid out his plan, the others mulled it over in silence, sensing its high feasibility.

"If you have enough confidence in the sword light prison, we can begin our efforts—and we must act quickly!" Mo Yan, gripping the Kyara Demon Blade, spoke with grave urgency, "It's approaching fast, and it won't be long before it reaches us."

Lau Ying whispered, "Yu Yuan, what's your take on this?"

Mo Yan, your proposal doesn't seem too practical," Yu Yuan said, casting a glance toward the Blood Sacrifice Altar. "That entity is picking up speed. If it's after us, neither the Fallen Star Eyes nor the glass bottle may outpace it. If we're serious about escaping, my advice is to split up."

"Split up?" Lin Yue interjected with a hushed tone.

"Exactly. We scatter and let it pick its prey. If it goes for the Fallen Star Eyes, then good luck to you," Yu Yuan said with a nonchalant shrug. "But if it targets the glass bottle, our odds of survival increase significantly."

His implication was clear: whoever the Blood Sacrifice Altar chose, the other would have a chance at life.

Mo Yan, reading his expression, realized Yu Yuan was bluffing and said, exasperated, "Enough already. Do you have any better ideas?"

"The cage won't hold him for long," Yu Yuan said, suddenly serious, abandoning his playful demeanor. He acknowledged Yan Lu, Hou Tianzhao, Lin Yue, and the others with a nod before continuing, "There's no need for panic. We might as well stay put and watch events unfold. It could be quite entertaining to witness a clash of titans."

"A clash of titans?" Mo Yan stopped for a beat, then quickly caught on. "And what makes you so sure that upon its arrival, the Blood Sacrifice Altar will engage the Chaos Roc first?"

"It's a hunch," Yu Yuan admitted, hands open in a candid gesture. "I'm willing to wager on my prediction."

"And if you're wrong?" Mo Yan asked sternly.

"If I'm wrong, we all die here. No one makes it out alive," Yu Yuan replied, inhaling deeply. "From my perspective, if we're the target of the Blood Sacrifice Altar, trying to flee now might be futile. Plus, if we break the deep blue veil and the energy barrier doesn't self-repair, the Chaos Roc could seize the opportunity to escape as well."

"Lord Heixun must have warned you about the disaster that would ensue should he be released!" Yu Yuan stated his conclusion.

Involuntarily, everyone inside the glass bottle turned their gaze to Mo Yan.

"Just you wait."

An evil spirit lingered, a remnant of the Devaputra's wrath. The Evil Cauldron simmered with a dark energy, ready to be harnessed through the Evil Body Refining Skill. The Bone Devouring Shuttle lay nearby, its sinister purpose concealed by the innocuous glass bottle.
