C465 Humans Are Not as Good as the Heavens!
Man's calculations are no match for those of the heavens.
A meeting between the Blood Altar and the Abyssal Leviathan should have inevitably led to a ferocious slaughter.
That is, if Yu Yuan hadn't utilized the Soul Forging through Enlightenment, this wondrous Spirit Magic, to communicate with the Crucible of Evil and refine it with his soul technique.
The artifact soul had just informed him that the vibrations produced by his use of the Soul Forging through Enlightenment had been detected by the Blood Altar deep within the sea.
The Soul Forging through Enlightenment originated from the Boulderdawn sect, whose founder etched the ancient words 'To Know All is to Suffer All' onto the White Paper Fan. He was renowned throughout the Star River!
What's more, the annihilation of the Azurefiend was not at the hands of the Devil Palace or Shadow's Keep.
Even though the Blood Altar was seized by the Devil Palace and Shadow's Keep and covertly taken to the Everlands, sealed at the bottom of the Embers Sea, they were not the primary cause of the Azurefiend's demise.
The true culprits behind the massacre of the Azurefiend and the obliteration of the Sky Fiend lineage were none other than the most powerful sect in the Everlands—Boulderdawn!
The remnant soul consciousness of the Azurefiend clansmen, and even the Blood Altar they forged, were innately wary and sensitive to the peculiar Spirit Magic from Boulderdawn.
In the current Everlands, any sect, dark adept, or archdemon harbored more animosity towards them than anyone else.
It was Boulderdawn that held an unbreakable blood feud with the Azurefiend!
This enmity exceeded all else, deeply engrained within the Blood Altar itself!
Upon sensing the presence of a Boulderdawn inheritor, the Blood Altar, shrouded in its seal at the sea's bottom, abandoned all else, setting aside its entanglement with the Abyssal Leviathan.
It surged directly towards Yu Yuan!
"Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The Blood Altar burst forth, its blue shadow, like a skin it had molted, now pursuing the Abyssal Leviathan.
Simultaneously, the gently descending Azure Veil scattered a skyful of dark blue energy, infusing into the blue shadow that had initially enveloped the Blood Altar.
The soft blue glow formed a new kind of seal and barrier, suddenly engulfing the slightly astonished Abyssal Leviathan.
As the Blood Altar soared overhead, the Abyssal Leviathan was taken aback, puzzled by the sudden change in behavior of its deep-sea nemesis.
Its confusion only grew when the Blood Altar's aim seemed to lock onto Yu Yuan.
Believing the crisis had nothing to do with him, the Abyssal Leviathan was caught off guard when the blue shadow binding the Blood Altar yanked the power of the Azure Veil from the heavens. With a muffled grunt, it unleashed its teeth, transformed into a Divine Weapon, in an attempt to shatter the shadow.
Skeletons piled high, flesh amassed, and the blood-drenched, towering Blood Altar vanished into the depths of the sea.
Puff!
A disciple of the Colddeath sect's middle elixir field burst open, and before the eyes of all, he collapsed in a heap of disjointed bones.
His lifeless three souls writhed eerily and flew out of the Ethereal Vial.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Not just this body, but also the recently deceased corpse of a Taintborn sect member, was battering against the Ethereal Vial.
As the Blood Altar drew near, more people clutched their chests, howling in pain. Dark red, pale purple, and pitch-black blood light erupted from the Vitality Profound Gates on their chests. Each practitioner of various dark arts and evil tomes emitted uniquely colored blood light, filled with wonders.
Now, with the arrival of the Blood Altar, their vitality boiled over, turning their faces as red as overcooked shrimp.
Yu Yuan, holding the Crucible of Evil, sensed the disturbance in his elixir field. A quick application of the Evil Body Refining technique soothed the tumult within.
He remained largely unaffected, facing the furious stares and menacing expressions of those around him. With a sense of resignation, he said, "There's nothing I can do."
"Why didn't you just stay in the Fallen Star Eyes?" Qi Nandou demanded, his eyes blazing with anger.
"That place is too weak to offer me any substantial support," Yu Yuan replied unapologetically. He bowed respectfully to Mo Yan and added, "Please excuse me. I've noticed your Devil Blade is formidable, and you all possess exceptional strength. You're undoubtedly an asset in dealing with the Blood Altar, so I won't stand on ceremony."
"Despicable!"
"Yu Yuan! May you meet a wretched end!"
"Why must you involve us in your troubles, dragging us to our deaths alongside you?"
Members of the Colddeath, Taintborn, Skyblight Cult, and even those familiar with Yu Yuan, like Shi Si and Hu Tianyang, pointed at him and unleashed a torrent of curses.
Yan Lu's face twisted oddly as he struggled to contain his urge to spit in disdain.
"There's nothing I can do at this point," Yu Yuan sighed, as the Blood Altar neared. He turned to Qi Nandou, "Qi Nandou, it's in your hands now."
With a swish, the Shadowblade, wielded by Mo Yan, flew out of the Ethereal Vial, hurtling toward the Blood Altar.
Simultaneously, Mo Yan's realm soared at an inconceivable pace!
He, who had been in the late period of Veil Breaking, clenched his teeth and forced his realm to ascend.
Early period of Subtlety, middle period, late period!
In the blink of an eye, he transcended the seemingly insurmountable threshold, arriving at the late period of Subtlety!
Deep purple demonic light exploded from within him as he broke through to new heights.
The once youthful figure transformed into a tall and muscular young man in mere moments.
His jet-black hair grew to a meter in length, cascading down to his waist.
His wild mane only added to his enigmatic and demonic allure, a stark contrast to his previous indolence. With a cold huff, he declared, "I'm giving it my all!"
The serrated Shadowblade, renowned for its heft, began to hum ominously underwater.
It sounded like the lament of countless demons, enough to make one's heart quiver and soul ache.
"The Spirits of Demons plummet!"
Qi Nandou cried out, hastily maneuvering the Ethereal Vial to retreat swiftly.
The moment the Ethereal Vial was removed, the Blood Altar, which had been hurtling through the sea, crashed mightily onto the ocean floor with a thunderous boom.
In the vicinity of the Shadowblade, the gravity field surged dramatically in an instant, multiplying manyfold!
The already immense Blood Altar, which had been moving so swiftly due to the sea's buoyancy, now lay heavily anchored.
After the gravity field surged, the dark red altar, meticulously crafted by the Azurefiend, had no time to react before it collapsed with a thunderous crash.
At the seabed, it became like the most formidable magnet, firmly gripping the Blood Altar and rendering it immobile.
"The Shadowblade is truly remarkable," Yu Yuan exclaimed with genuine admiration. "This Cursed Artifact is not just inherently heavy; it can also forcibly alter the gravity field, causing a dramatic increase in gravity. Such a brilliant feature means that when attacking an enemy, the Shadowblade's descent is hastened and made even more forceful by the gravity field."
He marveled, and while offering his compliments, he didn't forget to give Mo Yan an approving thumbs-up. "We owe you one."
But Mo Yan's complexion was ashen, the deep purple magical light bursting from his flesh as if it were extracting his life force and blending it with his spiritual energy.
This merging of spiritual energy and life force is a common practice in the operation of various dark arts and mystique, which differs from the spells of Euwrea.
Observing Mo Yan's demeanor and posture, the strain of forcibly breaking through, consolidating his life force and spiritual energy, and exerting his full power to wield the Shadowblade was taking a significant toll on him.
"I wasn't wrong about you; I always knew you were extraordinary," Yu Yuan affirmed with a series of nods. "There's no need for you to respond. I understand that confronting this Blood Altar is no easy task. Stay focused; I'll leave you to it."
With that, he addressed Lin Yue, Hou Tianzhao, Chi Yin, and the others, "If you have any secret techniques up your sleeve, now's the time to bring them out. The Blood Altar is immobile for the moment, which gives us the perfect opportunity to deal with it."
The group exchanged intense looks.
Yan Lu cleared his throat and advised, "Maybe you should tone it down a bit."
All the nefarious talents from the Land of Quiescence were barely containing their fury due to his arrival and the shifting target of the Blood Altar. They seemed on the verge of eruption.
Yet, he continued to needle them, almost as if he relished the thought of setting off the powder keg.
Yan Lu's warning was for his own good, cautioning him against further provocation to avoid becoming a scapegoat for those driven to desperation.
"Rest assured, they're not foolish." Yu Yuan was the picture of serenity, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the faces of Lin Yue, Hou Tianzhao, and the others before speaking with a nonchalant air, "If we're going to die, we'll all go down together."
"Is he really from the Shadowlight Empire, from Asvetaesi?" Chi Yin asked, her tone laced with intrigue.
"Of course, I came with him," Yan Lu retorted dismissively.
"How could he possibly provoke Mo Yan?" Chi Yin was at a loss for words.
Yan Lu ducked his head, choosing to remain silent.
"I suggest you advance to Lunar Spirit quickly. Stop hiding your true strength," Yu Yuan advised Mo Yan after a brief pause. "With the Lunar Spirit wielding the Shadowblade, the Blood Altar's constraints should be much more robust."
"Lunar Spirit? Lunar Spirit?" Yan Lu echoed, dumbfounded.
The disciples from Taintborn, Skyblight Cult, and Ruby Hand were equally bewildered, exclaiming in astonishment, "Lunar Spirit?"
The notion of someone breaking through from the Veil Breaking Realm to the Subtlety Realm in an incredibly short span was already beyond belief.
To then consider advancing from the newly achieved Subtlety Realm and condensing a Lunar Spirit was even more unfathomable.
Throughout the annals of the Everlands, there were tales of prodigious cultivators who, in a brief time, managed to break through successive realms and shatter the barriers of a major realm.
Yet, there was no record of anyone advancing from Veil Breaking to Subtlety and then directly condensing a Lunar Spirit. Such a feat was unprecedented!
Fei Yi, from the Devil Palace, went white as a sheet, staring at Yu Yuan in utter disbelief. "How did you know?"
