C74 Can You Accompany Me to Go Crazy?

The sword spirit issued a warning!

A faint remnant soul within the sword light whispered to him, urging him to distance himself from the main force and flee alone.

If he didn't flee, he would surely perish!

Yu Yuan's face darkened as he pondered deeply.

One thing was certain—the sword spirit had detected the presence of an outsider who had breached the forbidden area!

The soul within the sword light was capable of issuing a warning and foreseeing the future. Could this also suggest something more?

Was the sword spirit acquainted with the intruder?

Recalling the recent burning sensation experienced by the sword light, Yu Yuan's mood soured further.

"Escape from the main group..."

A chilling possibility suddenly occurred to him.

Had the intruder deliberately orchestrated the convergence of individuals from the five major clans and seven cities in one location?

To capture them all in a single stroke?

This thought made Yu Yuan's skin crawl, and he sensed that it wouldn't be long before the intruder made their move, slaughtering everyone.

The audacity to bring everyone together indicated the intruder's absolute certainty of annihilating them all at once.

Only with overwhelming confidence to overpower all trial-takers would the intruder intentionally gather them to save time and avoid complications.

If his speculation was accurate, then Lee Yu, who had ventured off alone, might actually be in a safer position.

The trial-takers who had heeded Lee Yu's warning about the invasion were now unwittingly flocking to their doom.

"Ah, what misfortune."

With a heavy heart, Yu Yuan began to reassess the situation, contemplating his next move with grave seriousness.

Half a day later.

Zhan Tianxiang from Sillserine, along with his clan's trial-takers, had found their way here.

Upon arrival, he was taken aback by the congested pit bottom and the familiar faces carving out caves in the nearby rock walls for meditation. "What's going on here?" he exclaimed.

"Zhan Tianxiang, you didn't encounter Lee Yu in Sillserine?" Yan Lu called out.

Zhan Tianxiang was bewildered. "No, we didn't."

"Oh, so you just happened to come this way," Yan Lu nodded in understanding. "Seems Sillserine is quite fortunate—you missed Lee Yu but still managed to find your way here."

"What happened?" Zhan Tianxiang asked with a grave expression.

"An outsider has breached our defenses. Members of the Lee, Su, and Yan families have been killed," Yan Lu reported.

"I understand," Zhan Tianxiang said, taking a deep breath as he grasped the gravity of the situation. He quickly commanded his people, "Stay away from the bottom of the pit. Choose a cave or carve out a new one for yourselves."

The Yan family members, aware of the forbidden area's dark secrets, went pale but followed his instructions without question.

Yu Yuan silently nodded in approval, his respect for the Sillserine's leader growing.

"Regrettably, the invader's strength was overwhelming. So formidable that even our combined forces faced annihilation," he observed, scanning the area. "This cursed place, sealed from above by the invaders, leaves us with no means of escape."

Some had begun to carve out caves in the pit's walls to continue their cultivation.

The central hole connected to other caves above, yet those remained empty.

In times of threat, people naturally clung together, seeking safety in numbers.

Lee Yu, upon his departure, hadn't given it much thought and instructed his Lee family members to remain at the pit's base.

With the Lee family stationary, they became a focal point, drawing others to cluster around them, creating an ever-growing crowd.

"This is not sustainable," Yu Yuan declared, unable to stand idly by any longer. He rose to his feet and addressed the group, "Don't huddle at the bottom. Let's move upward to the stone caves that connect to other tunnels."

He was speaking to the people of Asvetaesi.

Zhao Yafu and Yu Feifei immediately rose, their actions signaling their trust in Yu Yuan's judgment.

Yuan Ting looked on, his face a mix of surprise and confusion, harboring many questions. "Everyone is here. Why should we leave?"

"Brother Yuan, do you trust me?" Yu Yuan inquired.

"Of course," Yuan Ting replied, nodding.

Before setting out, Patriarch Yuan Lianyao had emphasized the importance of heeding Yu Yuan's advice in critical situations. If there were ever a conflict of opinions, Yu Yuan's should prevail.

Yuan Ting's most notable trait was his unwavering trust in Yuan Lianyao, always taking her words to heart. This was precisely why, out of many, Yuan Lianyao had selected him to lead the Yuan family on this journey and to partner with Yu Yuan.

Yuan Lianyao was acutely aware that any other member of the Yuan family who had ascended to the Golden Sanctum would likely be too proud to follow Yu Yuan's lead.

"Thank you, Brother Yuan, for trusting me," Yu Yuan expressed, admiring Yuan Lianyao's decision to choose Yuan Ting over other family members. "If you trust me, let's move to a new place to cultivate. We're not far from here, and with the crowds, the spiritual energy is too dispersed, making it unsuitable for intense cultivation."

"Okay, sure," Yuan Ting agreed with a nod.

His agreement prompted the others, who had been hesitant, to take action. The group from Asvetaesi rose and ascended the stone steps.

"What are you all doing?" a member of the Lee family asked, taken aback.

Su Yan, Yan Lu, Zhan Tianxiang, Han Hui, and other leaders turned their attention to the unfolding scene, equally perplexed by Asvetaesi's nocturnal activities.

"We're going to the stone cave above to cultivate," Yu Yuan clarified. "Should an enemy invade, if they don't come from the pit's top but through other tunnels, we'll be able to send a message promptly."

"Don't worry, we're all aware that survival depends on our unity."

"You know we need sentries, someone stationed above to relay messages swiftly."

Yu Yuan appeared eager to shoulder this significant responsibility, willing to brave the dangers for the safety of all.

"Whatever," the Lee family members responded indifferently.

Su Yan, Yan Lu, and the rest wore puzzled expressions but didn't dwell on it and followed Yu Yuan and the Asvetaesi contingent.

They believed Asvetaesi's strength was insufficient and that if they encountered invaders in the upper caves, they would be swiftly defeated.

In the meantime, they could make preparations to face the enemy with full force.

On the opposite edge of the pit, an individual stared at Yu Yuan with a vacant gaze, their empty eyes conveying a sense of indifference to everything around them.

As he fixated his gaze on Yu Yuan, a sudden flash of green light sparked deep within his eyes.

In that fleeting moment, his previously vacant gaze turned menacing and fierce, reminiscent of the most ruthless and heartless beast.

But just as quickly, he reverted to normal.

Yet Yu Yuan, descending the stone steps with his back to the crowd, felt a chilling prickle run down his spine. His finely attuned heaven soul instinctively sniffed out a terrifying threat of death.

He turned around subconsciously, his senses guiding him to that person.

Dozens of eyes from the pit's bottom were fixed on him.

Yan Lu, Zhan Tianxiang, Han Hui, and Su Yan all wore puzzled looks, deep in thought and observation.

But his attention was drawn to the one with the hollow gaze, and he inquired in a hushed tone, "The fellow in the corner to the south, clad in grey sackcloth with a wooden gourd at his waist—do you recognize him?"

At this distance, with such a soft voice, those below likely couldn't hear.

"The man is from Wethtalos, but I don't know his name," Yuan Ting responded after a brief pause, "I remember seeing him at the entrance; he seemed to be with Feng Xin. He arrived here alone half a day ago, claiming to have gotten separated from leader Feng Xin. Since his arrival, he hasn't spoken a word, appearing to be in meditation, yet also surveying others."

"Han Hui knows him. Wasn't Asenalenor the first to find a mural before being driven out by Wethtalos?" Zhao Yafu chimed in, "He was involved in the scuffle afterward. His name, though, escapes me."

"Yu Yuan, why do you ask about him?" Yuan Ting's curiosity piqued.

"Just now, it felt like he wanted to kill me. The murderous intent was so intense, it made my skin crawl," Yu Yuan explained with a furrowed brow. "Brother Yuan, take the others up first. Sister Zhao and I will linger a bit longer."

"What are you saying? He wants to kill you?" Yuan Ting exclaimed in alarm, "Then how can we leave?"

"He was merely contemplating it," Yu Yuan clarified with a reassuring smile. "After all, I did shame many women at the entrance, Feng Xin included, right?"

"That makes sense," Yuan Ting conceded.

"Please, Big Brother Yuan, lead my sister and the rest to find a cave to settle in for now," Yu Yuan requested earnestly.

"Alright," Yuan Ting ascended.

Only after everyone from Asvetaesi had made their way to the top of the pit did Yu Yuan suddenly speak up, "Zhao, stick with me. Keep an eye on my signals and be ready to coordinate our attack to take down that Wethtalos guy with everything we've got."

"To kill him?" Zhao Yafu was taken aback.

"Yes, with a single, lethal blow," Yu Yuan affirmed with conviction.

Zhao Yafu's lips quivered, "Have you lost your mind? He's our ally! Moreover, the four-month period isn't up yet; you're violating the sacred rules! Breaking the rules means death!"

"I just want to know, are you willing to join me in this madness?"

"Fine, fine, I'll do as you say!"
