C75 Kill If You Have To!

"Yu Yuan, why have you two come back down?"

Yan Lu furrowed his brow, clearly puzzled, "Weren't you supposed to act as our lookouts and provide early warnings?"

The others also scrutinized Yu Yuan and Zhao Yafu, who had just descended, finding it odd.

The individual from Wethtalos kept his eyes shut, undisturbed, seemingly lost in his own world of cultivation.

"I just remembered something."

Yu Yuan offered a smile by way of explanation and headed straight for the trial-taker from Wethtalos. En route, he inquired of Han Hui, "Sister Han Hui, do you know the name of that person over there?"

"His name is Zhu Huan, from Wethtalos," Han Hui replied, momentarily taken aback. "Feng Xin and Zhu Huan had a dispute with us over a mural before. Thankfully, I had the sense to cede the mural we had found first to them."

"Because of that, there were no serious casualties on either side."

Her implications were clear, and everyone understood that Feng Xin had leveraged the might of Wethtalos to make her back down.

She had harbored animosity towards both Zhu Huan and Feng Xin.

But now...

Zhu Huan claimed that after parting ways with Feng Xin, he couldn't find her anywhere. By chance, he ended up near the group and joined them.

Everyone speculated that all members of Wethtalos, Feng Xin included, had likely suffered a misfortune.

Given the threat of foreign invaders, Wethtalos had met a dire fate, and Han Hui certainly wasn't going to kick Zhu Huan while he was down.

Even the deepest grudges had to be set aside for the time being in favor of unity. They could settle their scores once the external threat was dealt with.

"Oh, so his name is Zhu Huan."

Yu Yuan nodded thoughtfully and, as he drew closer, he studied Zhu Huan with curiosity. "Brother Zhu, have we... met somewhere before?"

Zhu Huan, reluctantly opening his eyes, gave Yu Yuan a perplexed look and responded in a deep voice, "What makes you say that?"

"Have we met previously?"

"No."

"If we haven't met before, then why do you want to kill me?"

As soon as he spoke, the trial-takers were taken aback.

Yu Yuan was clearly looking for trouble!

"I don't understand what you're getting at," Zhu Huan said, his demeanor unchanged and even a bit numb. "In the face of a common enemy, we should stand united. Any past grievances should be set aside. Moreover, we don't even know each other. Why are you trying to provoke me?"

After a brief pause, Zhu Huan continued, "Is it because the leader of Wethtalos City has fallen and I'm the only one left? Do you think I'm an easy target because I'm on my own?"

His words cast a shadow of disapproval over the crowd's view of Yu Yuan.

Zhu Huan might be the sole survivor among the Wethtalos City trial-takers. Yu Yuan was looking to stir up trouble and take advantage of the situation. He certainly had a knack for choosing his targets.

Since falling into the pit, Zhu Huan had been quiet and reserved, avoiding any conflict.

Others perceived him as still engulfed in sorrow, uninterested in worldly affairs.

He had earned the sympathy of many.

Yet, in such a situation, Yu Yuan sought to bother him, which immediately rubbed people the wrong way.

After Lee Yu's departure, the Lee family's current head, Lee Yuan, lost his patience and dismissively said, "Yu Yuan, Zhao Yafu, if you're so eager to leave, then go! With only Zhu Huan left from Wethtalos City, whatever your intentions, please show some restraint!"

Zhan Tianxiang spoke with a detached tone, "Let bygones be bygones. Our priority is to maintain unity within our ranks."

"Yu Yuan, we had our differences, but I've already suggested we set them aside for now," Su Yan chimed in, urging him, "If we can let go of our issues, so can you. A united front is beneficial for all of us. Please, don't stir up trouble at this time."

The rest joined in, some pleading, others threatening, all urging Yu Yuan to keep his cool.

"Alas, not one wise head among you," Yu Yuan lamented, tossing gleaming silver balls toward Zhu Huan.

The silver spheres, the size of fists, glistened brightly as they flew through the air.

"Lunar Lightning!"

Zhan Tianxiang's face turned ashen as he bellowed.

The others also looked terrified as they hurled curses at Yu Yuan.

"Yu Yuan! Have you lost your mind?"

"How could you use Lunar Lightning against him?"

"You dare violate the sacred rules of the forbidden area? Not even the Yu family can cover for this!"

Despite their curses, those aware of the Lunar Lightning's might hastily retreated.

"Boom!"

Four Lunar Lightning devices detonated simultaneously.

A shower of silver light rained down, engulfing Zhu Huan in an instant.

Zhu Huan had no chance to react before the silver radiance pierced through his flesh.

The Lunar Lightning had been promised to Zhao Zhenghao and Zhao Dongsheng as a safeguard for Zhao Yafu during the trials in the forbidden area. Zhao Dongsheng had secretly arranged for its delivery.

Lunar Lightning wasn't a typical item but a single-use, expendable one.

Crafting Lunar Lightning was an exceedingly intricate process. Each silver orb housed hundreds of "silver bolts."

These "silver bolts" were actually ultra-fine silver needles, designed to shatter any form of spiritual energy shield with their remarkable penetrative force.

A single Lunar Lightning, if utilized effectively, could even injure a cultivator at the Veil Breaking level, leaving them with a bloodied, mangled body.

For those beneath the Veil Breaking level, being struck by the silver bolts meant severe injury, if not death.

And with four Lunar Lightning exploding at once, it wasn't just those below the Veil Breaking level at risk; even Veil Breaking cultivators stood a high chance of being slain on the spot.

As the four Lunar Lightning burst forth, everyone was left dumbfounded.

Even Lee Yu, the strongest among the trial-takers, would likely perish under the onslaught of the four Lunar Lightning, with the silver needles piercing through his body.

In the midst of their shock, Zhao Yafu, who had been forewarned, heard a dragon's roar emanating from her acupoints.

A wisp of light flickered and vanished.

The Dragon's Edge plunged into Zhu Huan's chest, pinning him against the stone wall behind.

Following the explosion of the four Lunar Lightning, Zhao Yafu still struck with full force, heeding Yu Yuan's earnest instructions before her descent.

At this moment, Zhu Huan was impaled against the stone wall by the Dragon's Edge, his body gruesomely disfigured to the point of being unrecognizable. He was unquestionably dead beyond any hope of recovery.

Against all expectations, Yu Yuan had launched a violent attack even after Lee Yuan, Su Yan, and others had tried to dissuade him.

He went so far as to employ four Lunar Lightnings, setting them off simultaneously!

Moreover, Zhao Yafu assisted by piercing right through Zhu Huan's chest.

This savage and frenzied behavior left everyone present momentarily dumbfounded, struggling to comprehend what had just occurred.

"You, you, you've killed Zhu Huan?" After a considerable pause, Lee Yuan from the Lee family seemed to finally grasp the situation. "The rules of the forbidden area prohibit any deaths in the first four months! And, wasn't I clear enough? We must stand united in the face of external threats!"

"Do you understand? Unity!"

Lee Yuan's voice was hoarse with exertion, as he felt the authority of his family, the Lee family, being blatantly disregarded.
