C771 The Specter Was Crushed
The pitch-black scythe, with its exaggeratedly curved arc, descended in a slash before Yu Yuan could fully awaken.
The elegant blade emitted a deep, mysterious glow. As the gleam of the blade surged toward Yu Yuan's forehead, a World of Darkness emerged silently behind the massive scythe.
This World of Darkness, as if birthed from the scythe itself, was filled with the roars of fierce specters lurking within its shadowy depths.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Twenty-eight colossal specters, reminiscent of ancient monsters from bygone legends, emerged one by one from the World of Darkness.
Each of the twenty-eight specters stood a thousand feet tall, as if they could touch the sky, exuding an aura of ancientness, longevity, and decay.
Huh! Hah! Roar!
Some specters screamed, some wept, and others laughed maniacally.
Within a hundred-mile radius, all ghosts and souls sensed their presence, causing their spirits to shudder.
Whoosh!
Then, a streak of bright sword light shot toward Yu Yuan's forehead.
The sword light, swift as lightning, created a myriad of wonders in its path.
Wherever the sword light traveled, it seemed to sketch out a vast world, casting forth a wild and untamed essence.
Yu Yuan, bewildered, instinctively raised his hand at this perilous moment, as if guided by a sixth sense, to intercept the piercing sword light with his scabbard.
The sword's will, dormant at the base of the scabbard from the Moon Slayer cultivator, was abruptly awakened.
Without Yu Yuan's command, the sword's will and sword spirit resonated, spontaneously drawing upon his spiritual energy, vitality, and spiritual sense, forging them into a fiery crimson sword light.
Boom!
The scabbard burst forth with dazzling radiance, blooming like an exotic crimson flower.
In the confined space where Yu Yuan stood within the cauldron, reality itself twisted, and time seemed to slow to a crawl.
The bright sword light, aiming for the acupoint between Yu Yuan's eyebrows, advanced inch by inch.
Roar!
From behind the giant crescent-shaped pitch-black scythe, the newly formed World of Darkness, housing the twenty-eight ancient monsters, erupted in piercing shrieks.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
The blackwood beads adorning the necks of the Imdohr's specters shook violently.
At that moment, the massive ghostly form, created by the convergence of twenty-eight souls, seemed to be ripped apart by an unseen force. In the blink of an eye, the divided souls were drawn back into the blackwood pearls. Simultaneously, a blinding light burst forth from the radiant sword light and the sword sheath in Yu Yuan's grasp, too brilliant for the naked eye to bear.
Inside the Crucible of Evil, a blinding miniature sun erupted, scattering its brilliance in all directions! The souls of the thousands of ghosts loyal to Imdohr disintegrated into ash in mere moments! The ghostly form of the Celestial Shade, a soul at the level of a Celestial Shade, with its cold and ethereal body, seemed scorched by the intense sun, fleeing in agony.
"Yu Yuan!" Imdohr's furious roar echoed from the twenty-eight blackwood pearls. This Spectre, ranked just below White Bone in the Land of Terror, could never have imagined that Yu Yuan would deflect his lethal strike with a mere sword sheath. But it wasn't just a deflection; as the sheath made contact with the gleaming sword light, nearly a thousand sword's wills surged into the Crescent Sickle, overwhelming it.
In that split second, his soul suffered damage! Few knew that the twenty-eight blackwood beads, which housed his soul, and the Crescent Sickle were actually one and the same, a matching set of items! His soul could flit between the beads and the sickle at will. Each pearl and the Crescent Sickle were interconnected, all under the control of his remnant soul, ready to deliver a deadly blow in either form at any moment.
Likewise, damage to any single pearl or any part of the Crescent Sickle would be felt by his soul. They shared both glory and ruin alike.
"Imdohr!" A chilling, stern cry cut through the air from miles away. A purple wraith appeared as swiftly as lightning, casting forth a crystalline sigil with a flick of the wrist. The sigil, gleaming like a towering iceberg, descended into the World of Darkness behind the scythe, landing amidst the twenty-eight ancient and decaying monsters.
"Glacial Storm Seal!" It was as though all twenty-eight Imdohrs cried out in shock together.
Boom!
Countless thunder balls detonated in the World of Darkness, with resplendent ice pythons and lightning dragons sweeping majestically through the dark realm.
"Ah! Ahhh!" Imdohr's screams of unbearable pain echoed from within the massive Crescent Sickle, from the mouths of the monsters in the World of Darkness, and from the twenty-eight blackwood beads.
The blackwood beads even emitted wisps of smoke and sporadic sparks.
"Chu, Brother Chu!" Imdohr wailed as he called out to Chu Yao of the Order of Healing, frantically yelling, "A bunch of useless fools, kill them all!"
"These creatures, are they seeking their own death?"
Ann Ziqing stood amidst the roaring lightning dragons in the World of Darkness, her purple divine armor shining with an intense brilliance that was blinding to behold.
Beneath her feet, it seemed as though she trod upon the skulls of massive monsters, while above her head hung the Glacial Storm Seal, resembling a thunderous planetary body.
The Glacial Storm Seal revolved in midair, continuously showering down icy thunder crystals.
Each crystal that fell into the World of Darkness transformed into a thunder ball spanning several acres, bursting forth with blinding flashes of lightning, obliterating the massive monsters linked to Imdohr's soul, leaving a sight too gruesome to bear.
The Glacial Storm Seal of the Obsidian Thunder Sect was infamous throughout the depths of the extraterrestrial Star River, striking terror into the hearts of Sky Fiends.
Even as fellow ghosts, the Spectres, Celestial Shades, and Spectres from the Land of Terror were utterly powerless against the bombardment of the Glacial Storm Seal.
The ghosts that Imdohr commanded to attack Ann Ziqing glanced at the Glacial Storm Seal floating above her and felt their souls nearly scatter from sheer terror.
Who would dare to draw close?
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
One clever ghost hesitated for a moment before lunging toward the Crucible of Evil.
"Young fool, you're seeking death!"
"Despicable human whelp, daring to ambush Lord Imdohr, your end is certain!"
"Meet your demise!"
The intelligent ghost and Celestial Shade spirits shrieked menacingly but halted their charge toward the Crucible of Evil at the last moment.
The oblivious Earth Specters and dim-witted ghosts, however, barreled headlong into the Crucible of Evil.
Inside the cauldron, Yu Yuan, having just regained his composure, felt as though his strength had been sapped. Yet, fueled by anger due to Yuan Lianyao's predicament, he bellowed, "Kill them all!"
"Yeah," Yu Yiyi responded.
Suddenly, the cauldron beneath Yu Yuan's feet transformed into a dark and terrifying little world, from which ferocious Banes roared forth. The Earth Specters and several ghosts that had sought to seize the moment to slay Yu Yuan found themselves encircled by layers of Banes.
Observing the situation, the four mighty Celestial Shades discreetly backed away, hurling insults and provocations at Yu Yuan as they retreated.
"Colddeath, Ann Ziqing."
It was then that Chu Yao, who had been concealing himself behind Shadow Mountain to catch his breath, was reluctantly compelled to show himself again. He was visibly irritated. "I have just one question. Ann Ziqing, are you aware that Yu Yuan is a traitor to the Everlands?"
"There's no solid proof," replied Ann Ziqing, her demeanor grave.
With a crackling sound, the Glacial Storm Seal, still unleashing its fury on Imdohr, plummeted, halting just three inches above her head. Numerous bolts of lightning and glittering crystals surged toward the Glacial Storm Seal as it began to contract.
Recognizing Chu Yao's stature, Ann Ziqing paused briefly before bowing respectfully. "I have the honor of meeting you, Mr. Chu. My father has spoken of you. The haste of my actions was not meant to cause you any offense."
Chu Yao's reputation was immense, and even as the Divine Lady of Colddeath, Ann Ziqing knew to pay him the respect he was due. After all, Chu Yao was destined to become a Divine Level herbalist in time.
