C814 The Remnant Soul Is like a Net

White Bone was questioning Razses, the Ghost King, and it was Razses who naturally responded.

After Razses replied, only Chen Qingyan's expression subtly shifted. She hadn't anticipated the presence of a mysterious entity lurking beneath Ann Ziqing's feet.

Yu Yuan and Rahu, however, remained composed, evidently privy to this information.

"Alright."

White Bone's voice wavered slightly.

This was because, at the very moment he spoke, he had already pierced through the ground and descended into the depths.

In an instant, he and the Ghost King concealed beneath Ann Ziqing were in the same vicinity.

"I'd like to have a word as well."

Without seeking their consent, Rahu, clutching her flower basket, drifted down like a stream of colorful mist.

In a mere moment, the three Ghost Kings had vanished from the surface and entered the little world below.

Yu Yuan narrowed his eyes, realizing he could sense the presence of three soul clusters forty meters below through his Lunar Spirit without any deliberate effort.

Deeper still lay the River Styx, formed by White Bone.

Yet, from that River Styx, he could no longer detect the will of the Root of the Lunar Meridian.

"I can sense the presence of White Bone, Rahu, and Razses in the Land of Terror. In fact, the moment I emerged from the ground, I already knew his precise location."

He had an epiphany that after his advancement to Lunar Spirit in the Land of Terror, his sensitivity to the souls of Ghost Kings had become exceptionally acute.

This heightened perception wasn't simply due to his earthly soul's advancement to Lunar Spirit.

It was because he had elevated his earthly soul to Lunar Spirit within the Land of Terror itself!

The location of his breakthrough was indeed crucial.

"There are aspects of the cosmic order that not even the Root of the Lunar Meridian can defy or alter."

A spark of realization lit up his mind, and he understood that even if the Root of the Lunar Meridian questioned his identity and severed the connection with his soul, his Lunar Spirit, having transformed in this realm, still possessed a unique divinity.

For instance, with the keen perception of the Lunar Spirit, he could detect the Ghost King's trail.

Should the Ghost King choose to hide its presence, none but Ghost Kings of the same caliber, Spectres, Celestial Shades, and ghosts would have any chance of sensing it.

He possessed a divine ability to pinpoint the exact location and movements of the three great Ghost Kings through his connection with the Lunar Spirit.

With this in mind, he attempted to extend his sensory reach.

His Soul Power consciousness unfurled like a net, radiating from him in every direction.

Within a fifty-mile radius, every vibrant soul, be it human or ghost, silently entered his realm of perception.

He tracked the Cloud Cruiser's path and detected the presence of Golden Fiend, Jin Xiaolie, and Shen Yan.

However, the Lunar Spirit within the majestic palace that Cao Jiaze commanded gave off no sensation.

This indicated that the palace's flight speed far exceeded that of the Cloud Cruiser. It could also mean that Shen Yan was waiting for Qingyan, hence instructing Ma Jianjiang to not hasten the Cloud Cruiser's departure.

"Let's look further."

As he continued to expand his Soul Power, he suddenly felt a significant strain, and the drain on his Soul Power intensified.

"It appears that a fifty-mile radius is about the limit of my current sensory range. If I can locate Razses, White Bone, and Rahu, it means I could also find Jiang Xingwen, those eight ghosts, and even Dhoreus if I ventured into Cuion's domain."

Upon this realization, he reluctantly retracted his Soul Power.

But what good was finding them?

With the River of Souls at his disposal, Dhoreus could traverse the skies in an instant, taking the white robe and the eight ghosts along.

As long as Dhoreus avoided direct confrontation, he remained elusive.

A sense of weariness crept over him.

Yu Yuan quieted his mind and reflected for a moment. He recognized that his attempt to sense the nearby area had consumed a portion of his Soul Power. Without the favor of the Root of the Lunar Meridian, he couldn't instantly replenish his Soul Power with the pure and mighty Yin Qi, which explained his fatigue.

"Brother Yu, I've finished."

At that moment, the stunning girl with the ponytail wielded the Iced Wyrm Sword to lift a Celestial Ice Crystal.

Engraved upon the crystal was an inscription: Sword Sect, lineage of the Stardust Blade, the tomb of Du Binghai.

The Celestial Ice Crystal was as long as a sword blade and about four fingers wide, with faint twinkling stars within. Whether these were remnants of the sword's will Du Binghai had once grasped or some other mark he left was uncertain.

Yu Yuan was unconcerned and nodded, saying, "Do as you're told and find Shen Yan. And with the Land of Terror being so unsettled lately, consider coming back here for training next time if you can."

Chen Qingyan gave him a curious look. "You sound just like my master."

Yu Yuan kept a straight face. "Then think of me as your master. Just take what you need and go."

"I..." Chen Qingyan hesitated, wanting to say, "You're hardly any older than me," but meeting Yu Yuan's gaze, she inexplicably felt guilty. "Fine, I have a lot to tell you, but I've promised not to get too close to you here, to avoid causing trouble for my master."

"Leave," Yu Yuan prompted.

"Okay."

The girl's ethereal phantom settled onto the Iced Wyrm, casting lingering glances at Yu Yuan.

With another wave of his hand, she sighed wistfully, "Yu, take care of yourself."

Whoosh!

The Iced Wyrm shot off into the distance, its form resembling a playful flood dragon, its Arctic Breath mirroring the chill of the Frozen Hellscape.

"That sword..."

Ann Ziqing noticed something amiss but couldn't confirm her suspicions, murmuring softly to herself.

"Yu Yuan, it's odd how you look at Chenchen with such an old-fashioned expression," Yuan Lianyao commented with a chuckle. Initially concerned that Yu Yuan might harbor feelings for Chen Qingyan, she scrutinized his gaze and found it pure and untroubled.

His eyes held the affectionate indulgence of an elder for a younger relative, which left her perplexed.

Despite her confusion, her worries subsided.

"It's not something I can easily explain," Yu Yuan reflected, then seized the remaining large piece of Celestial Ice Crystal and tossed it into the Crucible of Evil.

He sent a mental message to the cauldron spirit, Yu Yiyi, "Allow the Frost Queen to assimilate it!"

"Why don't you save that massive eternal ice crystal for your fiancée?" Ann Ziqing quipped, her mouth twisting into a wry smile. "If she got her hands on that crystal, she could probably refine a Solar Spirit Body. Who knows, it might just thaw any bad blood between you and turn that marriage contract into a done deal."

Yuan Lianyao responded with a sweet smile, "Indeed, it's quite possible."

With the demise of White Bone and Black Staff, and the subsequent vanishing of the ghosts and ghost spirits, Ann Ziqing and Yuan Lianyao felt a significant weight lifted from their shoulders.

Neither of them had much fondness for Lee Yuchan.

Rhutar had shredded one of Lee Yuchan's Lunar Spirits, which had some impact on Yu Yuan, but they were unscathed.

Whoosh!

Unexpectedly, the Crucible of Evil that Yu Yuan had released took flight on its own.

"The cauldron?" Ann Ziqing whispered in surprise.

"It's going to roam around the Ossuary, attracting and refining suitable ghosts into Bane," Yu Yuan explained offhandedly while secretly communicating with Yu Yiyi.

Despite the substantial losses within the cauldron's little world, the Land of Terror was teeming with ghosts to replenish it.

Yu Yuan was confident that even without the Crucible of Evil in his possession, he could still defend himself. Besides, there was no need for the cauldron to be constantly at his side within the Ossuary.

Yu Yiyi, having control over the Crucible of Evil, was managing its movements in the nearby territories. Swallowing up ghost spirits shouldn't pose any issue, and Yu Yuan wasn't concerned about any Spectres foolish enough to challenge the Crucible of Evil at this time.

"I need to seek out a Shadow Mountain to attempt separating my Lunar Spirit from my body and to ponder over some matters," Yu Yuan told the two women. "Wait here for a moment. Once the conversation below wraps up, you can decide your next move."

"I want to accompany you," Yuan Lianyao insisted.

"Not this time," Yu Yuan refused, shaking his head.

"Why not?"

"I can't foresee what might happen to my Lunar Spirit once it separates from my body in the Land of Terror."
