C858 Starfallen Oracle Who Was Seeking Medicine

Beyond the Everlands, there are innumerable star domains teeming with intelligent life. Among these, the Sky Fiends, Shura, Starborn, and Dawnbringers rank at the first level. The Star-Spawned Terrors are diverse and numerous, with many powerful beings among them. Before humanity's ascent to power, they were the undisputed rulers of the vast starry sea.

Compared to the Sky Fiends, the other races are considerably weaker. The Sky Fiend Clan's former position in the cosmos is akin to that of humans in the extraterrestrial Star River now.

The Shura have numerous branches, with the Dark Realm Shura being just one. Known for their formidable combat abilities and robust physiques, they are, however, relatively few in number.

The Starborn boast an ancient lineage. It is said that even their young can harness the power of stars, refining it within their bodies. They are a race of remarkable intellect, though their physical strength is somewhat lacking.

The Shadowkin, while also physically frail, are nearly all adept at wielding Mind Magic.

Conversely, the Dawnbringers thrive in proximity to the sun, able to endure its brilliance directly. They draw upon the sunfire to fortify their corporeal bodies.

The second level features an even greater diversity of Otherkin, including the Stoneborn, Silverscale Tribe, and enchantresses. The Stoneborn start with bodies of rock, evolving into crystal-like forms of incredible strength.

The Silverscale Tribe, attuned to water, grow significantly stronger in the depths of the sea. Those who have mastered the waters of rivers and lakes are equally formidable in battle.

Enchantresses excel in Mind Magic, adept at commanding spirited bodies and nurturing spirit animals.

Moreover, the Star River is home to a multitude of Otherkin, each with their distinct traits and strengths. The character and physical form of each race vary widely.

"When I achieved the Solar Spirit level and ventured into the Extraterrestrial Star River for battle, I never encountered so many Otherkin," Luo Yue remarked with a twist of her lips. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Yu Yuan, she expressed her amazement. "I've counted the incoming Sky Fiends; there are thousands, though most haven't yet refined their bodies. Next are the Stoneborn, several hundred strong. The Starborn are the least numerous, with only that elder present."

She sensed that Yu Yuan was certainly unfamiliar with the lively Otherkin of the mountains.

As his senior sister, she felt it was her duty to assist Yu Yuan with his inquiries.

She meticulously described the Otherkin she knew, informing Yu Yuan of their traits. Watching him nod in understanding, she paused and let out a sigh, "There won't be any major upheaval, will there?"

If these Otherkin, who had forged a spatial gateway to these mountains, were to roam unchecked...

"This place is in the northern part of the Land of Quiescence," Yu Yuan responded.

"The northern Land of Quiescence!" Luo Yue gasped, a realization dawning on her. She nodded affirmatively, "Indeed!"

To the south of the Land of Quiescence lay the Order of Healing, Artifact Sect, and Skyreach Consortium, while the north was firmly held by the Devil Palace, Shadow's Keep, Ruby Hand, and Colddeath.

Between the two continents was the Land of Terror, a bizarre region akin to the Rainbow Ocean.

If the Star-Spawned Terror and the powerful Otherkin experts were to leave uncontrolled, they would confront formidable forces like the Devil Palace, Shadow's Keep, Ruby Hand, Colddeath, and Taintborn.

Whoosh!

All of a sudden, a Starborn elder adorned in a starry robe appeared out of thin air atop Fiendpeak. He addressed Yu Yuan in the human tongue, "I am Beru, of the Starborn."

Yu Yuan grew curious.

For three days, he and Luo Yue had been atop Fiendpeak, surveying the mountains and reacquainting themselves with this world, as well as the extraterrestrial visitors.

It was unclear whether it was due to their travels or a directive from Yan Qiling, but none of the Otherkin scattered throughout the mountains had disturbed them.

Beru of the Starborn was the first to actively seek out Yu Yuan for a conversation.

Yu Yuan felt intrigued. "My name is..."

"Yu Yuan," Beru interjected, his wrinkled face breaking into a smile. The elder, with deep blue eyes, greeted him with an unusual bow, "Master Zhou spoke highly of you. I've heard that those who were confined in the Sword Prison were freed thanks to you."

He reflected with a heavy heart, "To transport the Sword Prison to the Godsblight Marsh, I lost two dear friends."

Yu Yuan and Luo Yue shared a silent look, each lost in their own thoughts.

"Master Zhou mentioned you're skilled in pill refining?" Beru began tentatively, shifting to the matter at hand. "I'm just not sure if the pills you've crafted can be utilized by our Starborn kin. You see, in the extraterrestrial world, we don't have access to the miraculous pills found in the Everlands."

"Out there, we have formidable artifact forging, a plethora of spiritual and medicinal herbs, and warships that glide through the Star River."

"However, we lack pills that intelligent life can consume to unlock powers beyond comprehension."

Beru let out a soft sigh.

"I'm far too old, on the brink of death. My journey to the Everlands was a gamble to witness a new era and, perhaps, to acquire a miraculous pill that could prolong my life."

He was in search of a medicinal pill!

Yu Yuan's interest was piqued. To quickly establish his reputation as Hong Qi's hand-chosen disciple, he knew he had to demonstrate his prowess in alchemy.

Yet, in his past life, he had only ever concocted pills for humans, occasionally crafting a special batch for an archdemon.

The Starborn? They were unfamiliar territory to him.

"I'm willing to give it a try, but first, I need to assess your physical state," Yu Yuan said with a furrowed brow. "Did Master Zhou send you to me?"

"No, it was Mr. Yan who suggested I come to you," Beru replied with candor.

"Then follow me into the heart of the mountain, and I'll examine you there," Yu Yuan proposed.

Beru didn't hesitate, promptly accepting with a nod, "Alright."

"Come with me."

"Understood."

Shortly thereafter, in the expansive, albeit worn, stone chamber, the Crucible of Evil, now magnified tenfold, emitted a sinister glow as it revolved gracefully in midair.

With each turn, it seemed as if a Bane was being purified by Yu Yiyi.

Beru, of the Starborn, gazed at the Crucible of Evil with curiosity, a sudden realization dawning on him. "Many years ago, this artifact made an appearance in the outside world," he exclaimed, slapping his forehead in recollection.

Yu Yuan narrowed his eyes, observing the ever-shifting seats within the cauldron's miniature cosmos.

Starting from the fourth level, new Banes would rise after being refined.

This was also the case for the fifth and sixth levels.

At this moment, the number of Banes at the bottom of the Crucible of Evil had not increased dramatically, but the fourth, fifth, and sixth levels were swarming with hundreds of them.

The seventh and eighth levels had also seen the formation of unprecedented, entirely new Banes.

He didn't rush to investigate, knowing that after Yu Yiyi had completely refined them, detailed results would emerge at the end of this cycle.

"Don't resist me. I just want to take a quick look."

With a thought, a strand of deep red vitality essence burst forth from Yu Yuan's Profound Gate acupoint, heading towards the elder from the Starborn.

Since the goal was life extension, it naturally involved vital energy, so Yu Yuan's examination started with the corporeal body.

However...

The moment his strand of vitality touched Beru's chest, Yu Yuan's face instantly tensed.

Beru, of the Starborn, astonishingly had three hearts!

This was a stark contrast to the humans, evilkind, and other intelligent life forms of the Everlands!

Two of the three hearts were still, as lifeless as dead stars, cold and silent in his vitality perception.

The last heart, still beating, seemed to be on the brink of death, its pulse weak and faltering.

Yet, as his vitality delved deeper, three terrifying waves of cosmic energy erupted like a volcanic explosion.

Boom!

Yu Yuan was sent flying back, slamming into the rock wall before tumbling to the ground.

Luo Yue, who had fallen alongside him, her soul form flickering, managed to shield herself with a burst of seven-colored radiance from her flower basket, barely resisting the starlight shockwaves emitted by Beru's three hearts.

Caught off guard, Luo Yue suffered alongside him.

"I apologize, it was an automatic defense. You asked me not to resist, so I... didn't hold back," Beru said with a look of regret, observing Yu Yuan dusting himself off. "Young man, are you okay?"

Yu Yuan, wincing with a grimace, felt his aura in complete disarray. "Elder, what rank do you hold among the Starborn's warriors?"

"I am a Starfallen Oracle, equivalent to your Human Tribe's Unbound cultivator," Beru explained, tapping his forehead as nine swirling vortices materialized in the sky behind him.

Nine vortexes appeared as if they were swirling within his mind, now manifesting in the void.

Within each vortex, clusters of stars twinkled, their mystery as captivating as their splendor.

"I once battled a cultivator from your Everlands, someone who had refined the moon in the extraterrestrial realms. We were equally matched. His name is Tan Junshan, from the Starmoon Sect," Beru explained.

"A cultivator in the late Unbound Stage, Tan Junshan!" Luo Yue exclaimed in astonishment.

"Elder, you really should have started by clarifying your own strength," Yu Yuan said with a wry smile.

He was acutely aware of Tan Junshan's formidable power, a man who was eligible to challenge the primordial spirit itself!

To think that a Starborn warrior of Tan Junshan's caliber would recklessly probe a heart with just a sliver of his vitality—wasn't that tantamount to seeking death?

"You never asked," Beru replied, his astonishment evident.
