C917 The Direction of the Transformation

Hmm!

Amidst the mountains of the Evil Sect, numerous robust non-humans and great demons from the Desolate Swamp sensed an ominous premonition. Those with formidable bodies and unique bloodlines instinctively turned their gaze toward Evil Peak.

At the summit, a colossal flower, composed of radiant light, blossomed.

The brilliance was so intense that no one's sight or soul force could penetrate it to see what was transpiring at the peak.

Zhongli and others, concerned for Yu Yuan, converged at the base of Evil Peak.

"There's no need."

In the void, a pair of golden eyes opened, shining like twin suns.

"President Lyi!" the crowd gasped.

It was President Lyi, the esteemed host of the grand trade fair, who had spoken.

Clad in a white robe, President Lyi cast a brief glance at the summit of Evil Peak and reassured everyone with a serene smile, "Please, remain calm. There's nothing to worry about."

With President Lyi's esteemed voice, the unsettled crowd found solace and their worries eased.

At the mountain's summit.

Canli, the Saint of the Bright Clan, smiled wryly, "Your mastery over the Life Altar is concerning. It seems you're unaware of its true desires and needs."

As she spoke, Canli's "God of Light" wove together strands of light, manifesting myriad luminous forms.

In an instant, the "God of Light" burst forth with a divine brilliance so intense that even the gods averted their gaze.

The pure, tranquil light emanated, purifying and banishing any trace of darkness.

Yu Yuan, previously consumed by brutality and impatience, along with his "Life Altar," abruptly regained clarity and reason.

Startled, Yu Yuan quickly refocused his thoughts and commanded, "Stop!"

The "Life Altar," which had been spinning and casting beams of crimson blood, halted in its tracks as it neared the "God of Light."

With a light laugh, Canli's "God of Light" retreated back into her chest.

"Different Life Altars may attract each other, but mine shares no such bond with yours," Canli said, her demeanor unflustered. "Yours, however, has a potent longing for my bloodline. Yu Yuan, allow me to offer you heartfelt advice."

"Seek the essence of various Life Races. The quantity isn't as crucial as the diversity—the more varied, the better."

"Strive to assimilate the essence of as many different races as possible. Only through this will it swiftly evolve, bringing you unforeseen marvels."

"While the functions of various Life Altars differ, their fundamental essence is strikingly similar."

"My God of Light grows stronger by absorbing various forms of light: the sun's rays, starlight, moonlight, the glow of flames, candlelight, and the shimmer of crystals. Any luminescence can be harnessed by my deity."

"The greater the diversity of light, the more it enhances its growth."

"Similarly, your Life Altar requires the collection of blood essence from the myriad creatures of the Boundless Land and the Outland Star River."

The Saintess of the Bright Clan gazed at the ruby-like Life Altar, offering her sage advice.

Yu Yuan, taken aback, asked, "So gathering different blood essences will aid its growth?"

"Primarily, it's the hearts of various Life Races you'll need," Canli said with a low chuckle. "As you're aware, the heart is the power source for Outland Star River beings. The heart is the most potent, followed by blood essence."

"It can grow and evolve?" Yu Yuan pressed.

Canli nodded. "The marvels of the Life Altar are for the owner to discover. And each Life Altar has its own unique mysteries."

She paused before adding, "Oh, and a word of caution—beware the Patriarch of the Blood Devil Clan!"

"Why?" Yu Yuan's brow furrowed.

"He possesses a Life Altar within him, with traits that echo yours," Canli explained, her expression grave. "I sense that if he encounters you and detects your Life Altar's presence, he will stop at nothing to destroy you and assimilate your altar."

"He is the Great Demon God of the Outland Devaputra. You stand no chance against him."

With those words, the radiant light atop the mountain slowly faded.

Yu Yuan, alarmed, quickly retracted the "Life Altar" into his own realm of Qi and blood. "Does the Patriarch of the Blood Devil Clan share an origin with my Life Altar?"

"Not exactly, but they bear a striking resemblance. I believe they could merge," Canli stated.

Yu Yuan fell into deep contemplation.

"Furthermore, the Blood Devil Clan is an aberration among the Outland Devaputra. They are part of the Devaputra Race but possess corporeal forms," Canli continued to explain. "Their stance towards the Boundless Land is distinct from ours and the Star Race. The Blood Devil Clan advocates for its destruction, putting them at odds with the Divine Soul Sect and the five paramount powers."

"Alright, I just wanted to check out your Life Altar, and now I've seen it."

Without allowing Yu Yuan a moment to respond, she transformed into a streak of light, darting toward the base of the mountain.

"Saintess!"

Members of the Bright Clan, clad in their gleaming silver armor, hurried to welcome her.

"I don't see why you're all so concerned. That guy doesn't stand a chance against me," Canli grumbled. "Since I'm here, I might as well take a shot at finding some mysterious light I've never encountered before. Oh, how I wish my own light would grow stronger faster."

Surrounded by the warriors and amidst Chen Langzhi's obsequious grin, she began to roam the mountain range.

At the peak, Yu Yuan sat down, his brow furrowed in thought.

Canli's intriguing description of the Life Altar had unlocked a door to the unknown for him. He realized that not all Life Altars were the same.

He learned too that the current leader of the Blood Devil Clan possessed one inherently similar to his.

The possibility of merging the two existed...

His own Life Altar, crafted from Giant Beast Amber, might contain the machinations of the Chaos Roc. If he collected the blood essence of various Life Races and integrated them into the Life Altar, allowing it to thrive and evolve, would the Chaos Roc swoop down from the heavens to harvest the ripe fruits of his labor once it reached a certain stage?

For some reason, he suspected that the Starry Behemoth, which roamed the vast Boundless Land, had ulterior motives concerning him.

Moreover, he occasionally sensed that the Starry Behemoth, even from the distant Outland Star River, was keeping an eye on him, sometimes casting a glance his way.

After much contemplation, he sprang into action.

If gathering the blood essence of diverse Life Races could aid in the growth and metamorphosis of his Life Altar, he was willing to experiment.

Especially now, with the grand exchange still underway and various outsiders present.

So off he went, gliding through the mountains in search of exotic blood for sale.

...

In the Fallen Moon Forbidden Area, Yan Qiling concentrated soul energy onto the sinister statue suspended in midair, infusing it with a more benevolent aspect.

A tiny, dark green flower struggled to emerge atop the statue, crafted by the Moon Spirit, revealing its unique marvels.

Despite repeated attempts, success remained elusive.

The visages of the statue, both benevolent and fierce, were shrouded in obscurity.

After yet another failure, Yan Qiling flicked his finger at the barely visible greenish-black flower, which, like a reflection in water, dispersed at the touch of a pebble.

"Mr. Yan, Mr. Yan," Lau Ying of the Silver Moon Sect, standing atop the Fallen Star Eyes, stammered, "I've said all that I was supposed to. May I have your permission to leave now? Yu Yuan instructed me to report what I've witnessed to my master, but I must exit the forbidden area first."

Yan Qiling, with a somber expression, gazed fixedly at the sky and remained silent for a long while.

Feeling helpless, Lau Ying had no choice but to stay put and wait for him to snap out of his reverie.

"Could it be that some calamity has befallen the heavens?" Yan Qiling finally spoke, as if emerging from a trance, "Return to the Silver Moon Sect. Whether you choose to share what you've seen or not, it makes no difference."

"Am I free to go now?" Lau Ying asked, her voice tinged with hope.

Yan Qiling gave a slight nod, then soared into the sky. Upon exiting the Fallen Moon Forbidden Area, he wielded the Space Light Blade to cleave through the heavens, stepping into the Outland Star River in an instant.
