C922 The World Was Blocked

In the dead of night, amidst a tempest, Yu Yuan gazed down into the dark abyss of the Moonfall Sanctuary. The Soulforge Matrix had not yet been fully activated, allowing the deluge to cascade down unrestrained. Lightning streaked across the sky, its brilliance casting ghostly pallor on the faces below.

Above the onlookers, the enigmatic Soulforge Pool hung suspended, as immovable as an ancient monolith. Once nestled in the deep pit before them, the Pool had ascended, autonomously commencing its operation, drawing in remnant souls from within tens of millions of miles to be absorbed and refined.

Beneath the pit, a layer of peculiar membrane was visible. Further down, a chilling presence emanated, accompanied by the tremors of psionic power capable of warping space.

Suddenly, a spark of soul light flared.

Canli, Zhou You, Beru of the Starborn, and the Ghost King Luo Yue could all see the glimmer, infused with Yu Yuan's essence. His remnant soul effortlessly pierced through the membrane, reaching into the alien dimension.

Gone were the wails of countless demons, the pervasive whispers of malevolent spirits. Yu Yuan's fragment of soul beheld only three archaic characters—Hui, Bi, and Shang—looming like a dark sun in the shadowy expanse, seemingly suppressing the void below.

"A word is missing."

A thought struck Yu Yuan, bringing to mind the character 'Extreme' that Yan Qiling had unleashed in Eshvehona to resist Yun Hao, the master of the Skyblight Cult. It dawned on him that the missing 'Extreme' had been taken by Yan Qiling after he had refined it.

"Could it be..."

Outside the pit, Yu Yuan mulled over his thoughts and sought insight from Zhou You. Canli, Beru, Luo Yue, and several Otherkin powerhouses listened intently.

"The absence of the 'Extreme' word is not the cause," Zhou You clarified, looking up at the Soulforge Pool and pointing towards it. "This dark pool and the words 'To Know All is to Suffer All' below are meant to seal and suppress the channel that connects to the extraterrestrial domain. Now that the pool is aloft and Mr. Yan has taken 'Extreme,' the seal's power has indeed been lifted."

Indeed, only by accessing the deeper Domain Channels can we ensure unobstructed passage. Only then can they traverse from the other side."

Noticing the lingering confusion among the crowd, Zhou You elaborated, "The teleportation circles of the Moonfall Sanctuary and the Domain Channel beneath operate differently. In our Everlands, a teleportation circle moves a small piece of space to another location."

He picked up two pebbles, representing teleportation circles, and placed them on the ground. A glimmer of light shone on one of the pebbles. "Watch closely!"

Activating his space magic, the light from one pebble instantly shifted above the other.

"The essence of the teleportation circle is a spatial transfer, moving people and objects from one small area of space to another."

"However, the channels connecting to extraterrestrial realms are different."

Zhou You, one of the foremost experts in space magic in this world, casually produced a hollow iron rod.

"Consider this Domain Channel like the hollow iron rod, with one end in the Moonfall Sanctuary and the other in the Hellmouth. The Otherkin from the Hellmouth need to enter from that end, travel through a layered, overlapping spatial corridor filled with endless wonders, before emerging on this side."

He gestured towards the deep pit.

"Both ends of the channel must maintain spatial stability, free of obstructions, ruptures in the wall, or unknown winds. If there's an issue at either end, the Domain Channel becomes unusable."

Zhou You covertly applied a mystique, and the end of the iron rod he held, symbolizing the Hellmouth, was rife with a mix of strange substances, winds, and fleeting, peculiar lights.

"Trouble on that side will eventually impact us here. And though I am adept in space magic, to rectify the chaos and make adjustments, I must delve deeper from our end. Throughout this process, I'll constantly face peril and hardship."

After Zhou You's thorough explanation, some were still befuddled, while others had an epiphany, grasping the root of the issue.

"In essence, our side seems alright, suggesting that the Hellmouth has likely undergone some upheaval. If I were at the Hellmouth's entrance right now, I could attempt to address the disorder. If things turned sour, I could quickly retreat back to the Hellmouth. Proximity offers relative safety."

"However, if I were to do this..."

A cluster of phantoms, symbolizing the cycle of life and death, began to drift into one end of the iron rod, suspended in midair. Their movement slowed progressively as they neared the opposite end.

"If I proceed this way, I might not even reach the heart of the issue before my strength is depleted. And on the return journey, which is incredibly lengthy, I could easily become ensnared in a fissure and whisked away to an unknown location."

He gazed solemnly into the extraterrestrial sky and said, "Even if Yan Qiling were to return, it would be futile. The key issue doesn't lie with us; it's within the Hellmouth."

"Hellmouth!"

Canli, Beru, and several Otherkin murmured under their breath in astonishment.

"What is that?" Yu Yuan inquired.

"It's a tumultuous region swarming with Sky Fiend clans. We all entered the Everlands through the Domain Channel of the Hellmouth," explained Beru of the Starborn, drawing a deep breath. "With so many of our strongest stationed there, how could any mishap occur?"

After hearing a thorough explanation, Canli and the visiting Otherkin, along with the Sky Fiends floating in the void, were convinced.

They also came to believe that the issue did not originate from the Everlands but from the Hellmouth within the Star River.

"Could Mr. Yan have gone to the Hellmouth? Did he sense something amiss and decide to pierce the heavens to address the issue there?" Luo Yue exclaimed, startled.

"Impossible," Zhou You shook his head. "The distance from the Moonfall Sanctuary to the Hellmouth spans across the Infinite Galaxy. Even for cultivators of the Unbound Realm, it would take several years of relentless travel to arrive. And for the Voidfarer, the journey would be equally extensive."

The crowd buzzed with speculation and concern.

Having grasped the situation, Yu Yuan realized he could offer little assistance with the spatial anomaly and decided against futile efforts. He turned his attention to the Evil Statue.

The visages on both sides of the statue were exceedingly indistinct.

Using his Lunar Spirit senses, he detected a murky presence within the Evil Statue, its innate spirituality seemingly dormant.

"It does appear that something is amiss."

After a moment of contemplation, he disregarded the presence of numerous Otherkin and Sky Fiends within the Moonfall Sanctuary. With a mere thought, he retrieved a vial of green lifeblood from the storage bag gifted to him by Ann Ziqing.

The bottle was slender, no thicker than a middle finger, containing the lifeblood of the Shadowkin.

Suddenly, the Altar of Rebirth, crimson and crystalline, emerged into view.

Yu Yuan uncorked the bottle and poured the lifeblood of an eighth-level Shadowkin into the Altar of Rebirth before swiftly reabsorbing the altar into his body.

Within the Altar of Rebirth, droplets of green lifeblood began to dissolve.

The lifeblood underwent purification, smelting, and essence extraction.

Before long, the Altar of Rebirth, suspended aloft, cast out flecks of green luminescence. These specks, reminiscent of fireflies, escaped the little world of vitality and surged into his sea of consciousness.

The flickering green lights were absorbed by his Lunar Spirit and his dominant soul.

Yu Yuan keenly sensed a significant enhancement in his Lunar Spirit, as if it had been marked by an enigmatic Soul Power at its very core.

"Huh! It has such an effect!"

The Shadowkin's lifeblood was not fortifying his physique but advancing his soul, which left him utterly astonished.

"The corporeal bodies of the Shadowkin are inherently frail. Even ninth and tenth-level Shadowkin might not possess a physique as robust as yours. Their lifeblood offers no benefit to your physical strength. The Shadowkin are known for their powerful souls, and the lifeblood of the Otherkin contains the essence of all the energy within your body."

"That includes Soul Power!"

Canli appeared silently, observing Yu Yuan's look of amazement, and said, "You should try the lifeblood of the enchantress. I believe that with it, you won't need to undergo arduous training to achieve a breakthrough in the Lunar Spirit realm. The powerful souls of the Otherkin, once their lifeblood is infused into the Altar of Rebirth and refined, will integrate with your soul, allowing you to break through with ease."
