C931 Fight Again

One was a Demon General, and the other, an enchantress.

Observing them both, one was brash and impulsive, while the other was cautious and strategic. Yu Yuan's expression grew a tad more solemn.

These two were starkly different from the warriors of the Nightscale Tribe and the Silverscale Tribe.

Through his bouts with the two seventh-level warriors from the Nightscale and Silverscale Tribes, Yu Yuan had gleaned much insight.

For the average human cultivator, the Golden Sanctum, the Mindscape, and the little world of vitality were all intricately connected to their spiritual energy, vitality, and Soul Power, as well as to their cultivation realm.

The Lunar Spirit, Subtlety, and Veil Breaking realms each had their own energy limits within the body.

Take Yu Yuan, for instance, in the late period of the Lunar Spirit realm, the spiritual energy in his Golden Sanctum acupoint, the vitality in his Profound Gate, and the Soul Power in his Mindscape all had a ceiling.

Without advancing to the next realm, these limits could not be shattered.

At this very moment, his Soul Power was at its peak. Without the aid of the Crucible of Evil, the power he could wield from the Lunar Spirit realm was finite.

The spiritual energy within the Golden Sanctum acupoint could be refined over and over, yet the sum total had reached its maximum.

Under normal circumstances, no matter how he amassed vital energy, his vitality should have peaked at what the Lunar Spirit realm could attain.

If that were the case, even if he practiced Evil Body Refining or Ancient Echoes of the Void, strengthening his corporeal body and storing a bit of energy in his organs and tissues, he would still be bound by the limitations of not breaking through the Lunar Spirit realm.

In such a scenario, he would be on par with the Lunar Spirit powerhouses of the Forgeroses and the Terror Claws, with a formidable corporeal body.

But it would certainly not suffice to defeat the two seventh-level Blood Warriors of the Nightscale and Silverscale Tribes on corporeal strength alone.

Yet, he had just proven that he could!

"Altar of Rebirth!"

He had realized that the Altar of Rebirth, nestled within the little world of his body, had shattered the ceiling of his vitality!

This Altar of Rebirth, neither his own nor of human origin, held the divine power to seize the essence of heaven and earth and break the boundaries of the human realm!

The existence of the Altar of Rebirth endowed his flesh and blood with a strength and capacity for storing vitality that far surpassed the limits of a Lunar Spirit realm human expert. After using the Altar to refine bottle after bottle of lifeblood from seventh and eighth level Otherkin experts, numerous sealed acupoints within his body were forcibly opened, one after the other. Each acupoint transformed into a new source of vitality, providing a continuous surge of vital energy for his use.

His flesh, bones, and organs received round after round of reinforcement and amplification thanks to the Altar of Rebirth and the refined lifeblood. This level of physical enhancement was beyond what Lunar Spirit experts of the Forgeroses or Terror Claws could ever hope to achieve. Flesh, soul, and spiritual energy are typically constrained by one's cultivation level. However, the Altar of Rebirth shattered this rule with its overwhelming vitality force.

This means that although his realm remained in the late period of the Lunar Spirit, and his Soul Power and spiritual energy were still confined to that level, the sum of vital energy within his body had already shattered the Lunar Spirit threshold. With a gentle clench of his fist, a torrent of vitality flowed from his meridians to his palm like a relentless river. Flashing a smile, he mused, "In terms of corporeal strength alone, I can already contend with Blood Warriors of the Otherkin who possess a seventh level bloodline. I only lack the unique talents that should accompany it."

He boldly confronted the Demon General. The enchantress let out a shrill, ear-piercing scream that pierced his mind and invaded his Mindscape. Like the Shadowkin, enchantresses had frail bodies, were ill-suited for close-quarters combat, and preferred to use their soulful cries to penetrate an enemy's soul and shatter their spiritual sense.

The seventh level Demon General from the Sky Fiend Clan now inhabited a monstrous body, which was none other than that of an eighth level Shadowbeast from the extraterrestrial realms. On the brink of death, the Shadowbeast was overtaken by his devil soul, which consumed the residual soul and refined the body for its own use. The Sky Fiend, adept in Mind Magic, now wielded the body of an eighth level Shadowbeast, unafraid of hand-to-hand combat and capable of using its devil soul in tandem with the enchantress to exert soul-crushing pressure on Yu Yuan.

Members of the Sky Fiend race, upon reaching a certain rank and successfully refining a suitable demonform, become terrifying beings with no apparent weaknesses.

Moreover, if their refined bodies are destroyed, these formidable Sky Fiends can simply find another and undergo the refining process once more.

This is why, since ancient times, Sky Fiends have reigned as the supreme rulers deep within the extraterrestrial Star River.

With the enchantress's howls echoing, Yu Yuan, his head pounding, saw a flurry of specters darting through his Mindscape.

Boom!

An eighth-level Shadowbeast struck his chest with the force of a fully unleashed war chariot.

Yu Yuan's head spun as his battle-hardened, muscular frame was launched skyward.

"The combination of an enchantress and a Sky Fiend is far more powerful than the forces of the Silverscale Tribe and the Nightscale Tribe," observed Beru, the Great Sage of the Starborn. He watched as Yu Yuan was sent flying by the Demon General's Shadowbeast with a single blow and nodded thoughtfully. "The Silverscale and Nightscale Tribes aren't adept at soul attacks. And Yu Yuan is fundamentally still at the Lunar Spirit level of humanity..."

"He hasn't used the Crucible of Evil," remarked Luo Yue with a huff.

"That artifact contains a Bane too formidable. If unleashed, what would be the point of this fight?" Mia from the Shadowkin watched the Shadowbeast, its movements swift as lightning, its head adorned with greenish-black horns. "The agility and strength of this eighth-level Shadowbeast have been well-preserved post-refinement."

The Shadowkin, accustomed to hunting the brutish and mentally erratic Shadowbeasts within their Domain, knew the terror of an eighth-level beast all too well.

Mia was astonished that Yu Yuan, after being struck, hadn't suffered a shattered sternum.

She braced herself to immediately tend to Yu Yuan's injuries once the battle concluded, lest he lose half his life to the Shadowbeast's assault and face the wrath of Yan Qiling and the others upon their return.

Boom!

Yu Yuan crashed to the ground, creating a human-shaped crater upon impact.

The Demon General, who had refined the eighth-level Shadowbeast, suddenly looked up, his gaze piercing the void toward the Demon God above.

Just as the Demon God was about to call a halt, he caught a glimpse of the Shadowbeast's eyes, now filled with agony rather than seeking his counsel.

The Demon God immediately realized that his Demon General and the devil soul had sustained injuries!

Simultaneously, the ear-piercing screech of the seventh-level enchantress came to an abrupt halt.

The next instant, the enchantress clutched her head, moaning in pain.

Her hair, which draped down her back, began to writhe as if alive, resembling a nest of venomous snakes disturbed by some fearsome force. They seemed to awaken from their slumber, fangs exposed, ready to strike at any prey.

The peculiar state of the Demon General and the commotion caused by the enchantress left the visitors from the extraterrestrial realms, including Luo Yue and her companions, utterly astonished.

"What's so surprising?" retorted the Demon God of the Sky Fiend tribe, his voice tinged with irritation. "Given that he is from Boulderdawn and skilled in their myriad spirit techniques, it's only natural he would find a way to counter our demon souls."

"After all, from the outset, every human sect and power regarded us Sky Fiends as their archenemies."

"And among them, Boulderdawn stands out. Their spells and Spirit Magic were crafted from day one to thwart us!"

With these words, enlightenment dawned upon everyone.

The Mind Magic of Boulderdawn, with its intricate and cunning spirit techniques, was devised for the sole purpose of slaying the Star-Spawned Terrors.

The Soulforge Matrix within Moonfall Sanctuary was established to confine the Sky Fiends, preventing those emerging from the Hellmouth from breaking free and wreaking havoc upon the Everlands.

In turn, Boulderdawn cultivators would hunt and consume any Sky Fiend bold enough to enter the forbidden area.

This allowed their disciples to become accustomed to combat with the Sky Fiends, priming them for future battles in the extraterrestrial realms once they ascended to the Solar Spirit.

If Yu Yuan were indeed a disciple of Boulderdawn, mastering their secret arts, he wouldn't be so easily overpowered by the devil soul of a Demon General, even with his slightly lesser cultivation level.

Sure enough!

The Demon General concealed within the Shadowbeast howled in torment.

For at that moment, he discovered that the strands of specter he had infiltrated into Yu Yuan's Mindscape were uncontrollably being torn apart by Yu Yuan's Lunar Spirit, disintegrating as effortlessly as a skilled chef butchers meat.

The art of Spirit-Birthing was a closely guarded secret of the sect, a technique that could bring forth new life from the soul itself. Spirit Magic and spells were the tools of the trade for those who walked the path of cultivation. The Star-Spawned Terror, a being of pure malice, was bound by the Soulforge Matrix, a Soul Nexus of incredible power located in the Everlands.
