C957 Evil Seed

Atop the head of the Deep Sea Basilisk, a pavilion stood majestically.

Yao Huangqi, the leader of the Demon Palace, watched intently as the barrier was breached by the Wolf Fang. The Grey Wolf King, the Raven, and several other formidable demons from the Demon Palace penetrated the enchantment in succession. A look of elation spread across Yao Huangqi's face, as though he was on the cusp of witnessing something wonderful.

The Golden Elephant Ancient God, Peacock King, Yun Hao, Chung Guanyu, and other powerhouses at the Unrestrained Stage were poised for action. They were in cahoots with the Heavenly Source Continent, ready to unleash a torrent of assaults. However, just as they were about to strike, Yao Huangqi abruptly raised his hand, signaling them to pause.

Confused glances converged on him.

"Let's not rush," he advised. "Senior Golden Elephant, please relay the message to Feng Pu to remain patient."

Yao Huangqi exuded an air of serene confidence, a cryptic smile playing at the corner of his mouth. "Don't ask for the reason; I'm not at liberty to disclose it."

His words left the Golden Elephant Ancient God, Peacock King, and the other great demons momentarily dumbfounded. They were clueless about Yao Huangqi's intentions.

After a moment of contemplation, the Peacock King inquired, "Is there perhaps a secret to breaking the formation that has already been infiltrated?"

"It may not necessarily break the formation, but it's sure to wreak significant havoc within the forbidden zone," Yao Huangqi replied with a knowing smirk. "Just wait and see."

"Uncle Yao!" Mo Yan called out, his tone urgent.

Yao Huangqi's enigmatic demeanor sparked curiosity and speculation in Mo Yan, who was eager to grasp the full story.

"I regret that I can't divulge more," Yao Huangqi responded, shaking his head.

As a late-stage practitioner of the Unrestrained Stage, Yao Huangqi was not only a close friend to Zhu Zhenyi of the Devil Palace but also his mentor and guide on the path of cultivation. He was a generation older than Zhu Zhenyi.

Among the visitors, aside from the long-lived great demons of the Demon Palace, all the human cultivators were junior to him in both age and rank. Given his statement, despite their inability to see into the forbidden area, the Golden Elephant Ancient God, the other great demons, Yun Hao, Chung Guanyu, and the rest of the formidable cultivators chose to place their trust in him.

With a piercing howl, the Grey Wolf King transformed once more. His human shape shed away, revealing a majestic silver-gray wolf, mighty enough to swallow the moon itself.

In silence, he invoked a Bloodline Secret Technique, conjuring forth a colossal mace.

The mace's menacing head, with its razor-sharp teeth, gleamed with an icy chill. Standing upright as a man would, he grasped it firmly with his lupine claws.

"Exterminate this fiend!" declared the Nine Stars Sage, Beru, with crisp finality, signaling the onset of battle.

From the folds of his flowing garments, he cast a rhombus-shaped compass encircled by stars toward the Grey Wolf King.

As the compass descended, it unfurled like a sea of stars, a celestial expanse dotted with myriad constellations, all linked by the shimmering Crystal Chains of Beru's lineage.

In an instant, the azure-black firmament blazed with light, turning the forbidden area as bright as day.

With a contemptuous snort, Beru's form materialized amidst the dazzling stellar river, his hands weaving mysterious and intricate seals with blinding speed.

Each seal sparkled between his fingers, embodying the enigmatic essence of the celestial bodies' orbit.

With a thunderous crash, the Grey Wolf King, in his attempt to soar skyward, plummeted back to earth from a height of ten meters.

From Beru's position within the radiant star river, beams of starlight rained down like countless arrows of light.

Puff! Puff! Puff! The towering figure of the Grey Wolf King, cloaked in dense fur, erupted in sprays of blood.

Once again, the Grey Wolf King issued a heart-wrenching howl. Its silver-gray fur bristled, radiating a brilliant divine glow that miraculously mended every wound.

"Wounds reopen, flesh decays, blood fouls, and the demon soul wanders," chanted Sansom of the Banshee Clan, her serpentine hair growing wildly as she spoke.

Yu Yuan, shielded within the barrier, listened intently, grasping the cryptic significance of the Banshee's arcane tongue.

As Sansom's incantation filled the air, the Grey Wolf King's freshly healed wounds split anew, as if time itself had reversed. The once minor gashes now gaped wider, baring bone.

From the lacerations oozed a vile mixture of thick fluids and tainted blood, the stench of corruption assaulting the senses.

The Grey Wolf King's silver gaze began to cloud over with confusion and a lack of clarity, as if he were locked in a struggle with a foreign malevolent spirit, fighting to reclaim his autonomy.

"With a Beru and a Sansom against him, the Grey Wolf King doesn't stand a chance," someone observed.

Tianzang, who had intended to intervene, produced the Tears of Blue Devil, cradling it in his palm atop the Aura Altar. Noticing the Grey Wolf King's battered state, he murmured to himself, "This Grey Wolf King is a far cry from the legends."

"His demon blood is being suppressed by something," Canli whispered.

After her comment, she glanced at the dual-faced stone statue that had once been the Sword Prison.

Tianzang caught on immediately and nodded, "I see."

"Ah, what rotten luck, to be laid low by the Grey Wolf King," lamented the Raven Lord, alongside the Demon Palace's Great Demon, their complaints echoing without restraint.

"Devil... Devil Envoy?"

An elderly figure from the Devil Palace, voice quivering, fixated on the Silver Rainbow Magic Shuttle hovering in the sky, "What are you doing? You..."

It was then that Yu Yuan's attention was drawn as well.

He had previously traveled in the Silver Rainbow Magic Shuttle to the Ember Waters of the Silvermoon Empire, transforming into a deep purple crystal. Within the crystal, dazzling with five-colored specks, colorful clouds, and brilliant lightning, were myriad enchanting changes emitting a disconcerting aura.

The Devil Envoy, whose face was always hidden, wore a pitch-black cloak and bamboo hat, her form so tightly concealed that not even a sliver of light could penetrate.

Suddenly, her dark attire shimmered with iridescence.

The Silver Rainbow Magic Shuttle contracted, becoming like a shield, a vessel uniquely crafted for her, casting a protective shroud over her figure.

She removed her bamboo hat, revealing a face so plain it would go unnoticed in a crowd. Yet her eyes were extraordinary.

Instead of pupils, her eyes held swirling seven-colored clouds, each cluster seemingly an eyeball, a window into her peculiar soul.

As Yu Yuan and Tianzang gazed into the hundreds of miniaturized seven-colored clouds within her eyes, they both felt an inexplicable sensation wash over them.

—The Devil Envoy was no ordinary being!

A wondrous entity, comprised of numerous tiny souls, possessing a collective intelligence and consciousness!

"This..."

Mia from the Dark Elfkind, upon witnessing the unveiled face of the Devil Envoy, found herself momentarily spellbound.

Even with her vast experience, she had never encountered nor heard of such an extraordinary life form.

"The Devil Palace's Devil Envoy, who has risen to prominence in the last century, remains an enigma. Apart from the Devil Master Tan Xiaotian, nobody has glimpsed her true face!" Xi Quan, the Withered Sword who defected from the Sword Sect, eyed the Devil Envoy with curiosity. "It was only after my escape from the Sword Prison and a conversation with some old friends that I learned of her existence."

"This Devil Envoy owes her allegiance not to Zhu Zhenxiao, but to the Devil Master!"

Xi Quan detected an unusual disturbance in the Devil Envoy's soul and instinctively stepped back to widen the gap between them.

Clad in a black robe and constrained by the Silver Rainbow Magic Shuttle, the Devil Envoy's unremarkable face turned towards Yu Yuan within the barrier. After a brief silence, she spoke in a haunting tone, "Surprised? You are my creator and my guide. Are you not astonished to see me after three hundred years?"

Her words left everyone present, including Xi Quan, utterly bewildered.

Luo Yue, a fellow Ghost King, drifted closer, scrutinizing the Devil Envoy who had revealed her true self. Her expression was a mix of perplexity and contemplation, as if she had pieced something together yet found it too incredulous to reconcile.

"What are you talking about?" Yu Yuan asked, feigning composure with a hint of chill in her voice.

"There's no use in concealing it any longer. I sensed it as soon as you emerged from Horror Land and your Yin God took form," the Devil Envoy's eyes, a kaleidoscope of swirling colors, made it hard to read her emotions, and her voice was steady, without fluctuation. "What should I call you now? Medicine God Hong Qi, or my Architect of Rebirth?"

Luo Yue gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in shock.

Her gaze locked onto Yu Yuan, her bright eyes brimming with unspoken tales.

Medicine God Hong Qi!
