C3 Chapter 3

Heaven POV

This is my first day to start the bet. After lunch, Cara told me that our subject teacher was absent. The same with the next subject after that. So we have 3 hours vacant. Since I have a lot of spare time, I went to the library. There is a rule in this school where we can't go out even in our vacant time. So, I used my time in the library. I choose the place where no one can notice that I'll be sleeping.

I went to the corner of the library where the old books can be found and rarely to be picked by the student who wants to study.

Maybe because of the dim lights, I felt comfortable sleeping. I was about to sleep when I felt someone sat in front of me. Oh, maybe I'm not the only one who knows this place. I look over to see who it was. But her face was covered by the book she was reading. Hmm, maybe it was just a random nerd girl.

"Don't you know that the library is for the person who'll read books and not for the person who'll just sleep?"

Woah. Her voice gave me chills. It's scary. Is she the librarian? I sit up straight and open a random book that I got. I started reading it. Err... More like pretending to read.

"Rule number 1. Make her smile."

Woahh.. how did she know that? What the?

"It's one of the rules I'd heard yesterday.." and she put down the book she is reading.

"Ms. Heaven Rain Bailey"

I…I..it's Sky! If I'm not mistaken, I think I look pale now. It's like my soul was out from my body. I felt nervous, my hands were shaking, I feel like my blood is running away from my body and sweats are all over my forehead. In short, I felt shivers down my spine. Scared. Now I understand why everybody is afraid of her. She gave me a boring look with her poker face.

"Are you afraid?" she speaks again. Her voice is cold.

"Er.. let... Uhm.. let me explain?"

"I didn't ask for any explanation. Ms. Heaven."

It's a lot scarier than she's calling me with formality.

"uhh.." it feels like my tongue left me too.

"Guilty?"

"I'll quit the bet," I said in a panic. I felt my lips quiver.

"Why? It sounds interesting to you. Right?" she still maintains those poker-faced and a blank stare which makes it scarier.

"Err... I don't want to die?" my brain doesn't work too. It looks like she will kill me this time. Knowing that it was only the two of us in this corner.

"HAHAHAHA" even her laugh. Gosh! It sounds scary. She didn't look happy. It was more of a sarcastic laugh. She slammed her hands on the table and bends closer to me. I think it's about to say goodbye. I closed my eyes. Ready to feel my blood cascade on the table or the floor.

"No. Don't quit." She whispers. I slowly opened my eyes.

"W…what?" I asked.

"Continue the bet. Let's pretend that I didn't hear anything."

That was the longest sentence she said.

"Is it okay with you?" I ask.

"Of course…" she slowly leans to her chair "..not"

"Oh, hmm... I know you may be thinking that I am not a good person for agreeing to that bet and I am just like other ass**le person who loves to break a girl's heart even I, too is a girl. But that's not true. I just –"

"You are NO different from other stupid Bisexual girls I saw and meet. Stop explaining. You'll just waste your saliva."

She emphasizes the "NO" word. Aishh. I shouldn't agree to that bet. From the start, I know it is hard to make it. Especially now. It is impossible to make it because she already knows.

"But..."

I look at her. But? Hmm, her eyes didn't change. It was still empty. There's no hint of emotions.

"Like what I've said. I'll act like I don't know about the bet. And you should continue accomplishing it."

"Huh? Why?"

"I've heard that there is a benefit of that bet. And you'll help me."

"Help you in?"

"I need a guy who will help me to find my brother's missing game."

"Missing what? Game?"

"Yep. A video game. It's a CD."

"And what does it have to do with the bet?"

"I heard that you can get whatever you want and need. So you'll give me a share. It is more like an acting fee."

"What?" Wow, this is ridiculous. What kind of situation is this?

"I know you're not that stupid to be ignorant of what I'm trying to say. I already said it. Please process it faster into your brain." She said coldly.

"Sorry," I said.

"The share that I can get from the bet we'll be the payment for the game that I needed."

"Okay?"

"For now, you will be the one to pay for the game and lessen its amount after you've got that allowance." She said. I was surprised.

"Umm, you said earlier that it was missing. So where do we find it? And why would we buy it if we were looking for it?" I asked. She just looks at me sharply.

"I already found it. We'll meet later after school. You should come with me and pay for it," she said in a serious tone. Wow. This girl really! aish. She's driving me crazy. She's certainly weird.

She was about to leave when...

"Before I forgot. No one should know about this. It'll be our secret. Once anyone knew about it. Be ready for the day of your vigil."

And then she walks away.

It scares me more. What the... it will be the first time that I'll be keeping secrets to Axel.

After she left, I'm still thinking about what she said. Do I need to prepare a to-do-list so that when I die, there's no need to regret it because I fulfill the things that I want? Aish! I'm overthinking again. I know she's kind, and maybe she has a soft side... right?

Yeah. That's right Heaven. Think positive! She's different from the other girls. She's a diamond but a black one. Ugh! I look crazy. I must go somewhere.

I know I sound crazy and scared but, who wouldn't be afraid? Knowing that she knows that bet?! And now, we're using the bet for her advantage? Huh? I am scared and confuse. The bet is for her to fall in love with me. She knew about the bet so she'll ride with us like she didn't know about it so that I can win and she'll take half of the benefit that I can get. It's getting more complicated! Ugh never mind.
