C4 The Suite

She stopped and looked at him. She got lost in his eyes as he peered down at her. At that moment, she stopped thinking.

"Would you like to come to my room?," he asked.

She nodded in agreement.

"Let's go," he said.

He sat her down on a chair when they got to the lobby of the hotel and went briefly to meet one of the hotel receptionists to collect a key.

"I need a key to an unreserved room," he said.

"But sir, your penthouse suite..." the receptionist started.

"I need a key to an unreserved suite" he repeated cutting her short.

"Yes sir," she said and handed him a suite key.

He walked over to where she sat, took her by the hand and ushered her toward the elevators. There was a dreadful silence in the elevator as they rode up to the seventh floor.

She didn't quite know what she wanted or what was going to happen. She just stood there, agreeing with the flow of circumstances.

Despite being shaken by Bob, she was unable to ignore Adrian 's alluring presence because she was entrapped in a web of infatuation. Perhaps she had been since their eyes locked.

Yet, amidst all the overwhelming emotions, there lingered a hint of apprehension. She questioned her own worthiness, wondering if she could ever be with such a captivating man.

One night was all she needed.

With just the two of them in that elevator, she felt a strange mix of insecurity and exhilaration.

He stood close to her in the elevator, holding her closely to himself. She seemed quite shaken still. He could feel her eyes on him but he dared not look back at her; he wouldn't be able to resist the urge to smash his lips against hers.

If only she had been another woman, he wouldn't care as much.

She was so vulnerable, so soft...he couldn't, wouldn't take advantage of her.

The elevator dinged and they made their way out. He held her by the hand this time around as he led her to the suite.

She had never been in a place of that much opulence before. It was an absolutely outstanding hotel with elegance and class, it was gorgeous and luxurious.

A huge entryway with polished marble floors welcomed them as they entered the suite. It was decorated with elaborate patterns and priceless chandeliers that produced a warm and inviting glow. The faint aroma of new flowers permeated the atmosphere.

She couldn't help herself as she moved around observing the exquisite space.

Large sofas and armchairs wrapped in the finest textiles were grouped around a stunning fireplace in the suite's living room. The walls were covered in valuable pieces of art that had been thoughtfully chosen to inspire awe and fascination. In one corner, a baby grand piano stood tastefully, encouraging guests to compose their own music.

Adjacent to the living area laid a private dining room, where a stunning table was set with crystal glasses and silverware.

As she moved deeper into the suite, she found a stunning bedroom that radiated luxury. The focal point was a luxurious king-sized bed with a huge headboard and covered in the finest Egyptian cotton sheets. A calming and unwinding mood was produced in the space by the ambient lighting.

And then, just when she thought the suite couldn't get any more indulgent, she stepped into the private terrace. There, she was greeted by panoramic views of the vibrant city skyline.

She stood there welcoming the seventh floor air on her face. She felt out of place in her new environment. She did not belong here, especially with someone like him.

But she wanted him.

She closed her eyes for a brief moment and tilted her face forward. She could no longer lie to herself. The last time she was with a man was over three years ago when she conceived her baby.

He had been behind her the entire time, studying her as she studied the suite. If she was bewildered by the room, he was, by her. He enjoyed every movement she made.

His giddiness for her was becoming overwhelming but her present state prevented him from grabbing her. She was in no position to make reasonable decisions by now. He refused to feel sorry for her. He meant to do right by her. He didn't want to add to her troubles.

If she had been another woman, he would be edging towards climax by now.

"What now?," she asked ensnared by his stare as she opened her eyes.

"You can stay here as long as you want," he calmly said.

"Can I move in here?" she asked jokingly, giving a wry smile.

"If you want," he replied with all seriousness.

"No, I'm just kidding. I could stay a while. I have to get back to my son."

They made their way back inside.

The presence of this handsome man overwhelmed her with desires she did not yet understand, leaving her yearning. She had all along tried so hard to pull herself together, but she was failing miserably.
