C17 The Casino

At the craps table, Niu Li was taken aback to discover a teenager who, like him, was visiting for the first time. The young man was in the company of a woman in her thirties, noticeably overweight, who had her arms wrapped around his slender waist. On closer inspection, Niu Li was shocked to see the woman's hand bouncing around the boy's crotch area!

With a sympathetic glance at the youth, whose face was a shade paler, Niu Li turned his attention elsewhere.

"Do you want to play dice?" Miss Long asked with a smile, mistaking Niu Li's pause for interest in the game.

Casting a look at the dice cup, which was rattling with each shake, Niu Li responded with a grin, "Sure, let's play this. Watch how I do."

"I'm quite eager to see," she replied.

They moved closer to the table, and Niu Li took a seat on a high stool. Miss Long casually perched herself on Niu Li's lap, her body seemingly melting into his embrace.

A Nighty Night staff member, clad in uniform, noticed the purple coin box in Niu Li's hands. His eyes sparkled, and with a beaming smile, he regarded Niu Li as if he were some affluent young master.

"Tell me, little brother, are you betting on big or small?" Miss Long inquired, her gaze on Niu Li, heavy with allure.

As soon as Niu Li sat down, he extended his Mental Energy to examine the dice cup. He had only intended to test it out, but to his surprise, his Mental Energy effortlessly penetrated the cup. It swept over the three dice inside, and in a flash, the pips were etched into Niu Li's mind.

A surge of elation filled him; he hadn't expected to have abilities akin to an Elf.

Truth be told, Niu Li had often sold himself short. The fact that he could manifest a Devil Spirit with his Mental Energy on his first encounter with magic was a testament to his innate strength.

Responding to Miss Long's question, Niu Li gave her a once-over and said with a hint of flirtation, "Considering your age, sister, I'd definitely go for the big one."

Miss Long caught the drift of Niu Li's gaze and blushed. With a playful scolding tone, she chided, "You're such a tease! Where are you looking?"

"I'm telling you, it's the truth. I'm going all in for a big win this time." Niu Li flashed a confident grin as he casually tossed a hundred thousand purple coins onto the table.

His initial comment might have seemed offhand, and he clearly wasn't a seasoned player, but the sight of those purple coins landing with a thud sent a shockwave through everyone gathered around.

Even the enchanting women nestled in the arms of generous men shot Niu Li alluring glances, intrigued by his bold move.

The house was taken aback. Casinos operate by their own set of underground rules, and the dealer, a seasoned gambler who also controlled the table, usually had the upper hand. He could typically steer the outcome, yet Niu Li's play left him puzzled.

"What's got you so spaced out?" Niu Li, slightly annoyed, gave Miss Long's tender hand a gentle squeeze to snap the bewildered dealer back to reality.

Caught off guard, the dealer almost scrambled to switch the dice in the cup.

Truth be told, the dealer had been planning to roll high this round. Before Niu Li's bet, the wagers on low totaled over thirty thousand, while high bets were just a few thousand.

But Niu Li's move turned the tables, prompting the dealer's instinct to call low instead.

"Roll it high!"

A faint whisper barely audible reached the dealer's ear.

Startled, the dealer quickly lifted the dice cup, revealing the outcome to a chorus of gasps from the crowd.

Niu Li just smiled, his expression far from triumphant. He too had heard the whisper meant for the dealer's ears alone. The presence of a tiny earpiece suggested someone was pulling the strings behind the scenes, keeping a close eye on the casino's operations—and on him and Miss Long.

In a den this devious, it was a wonder any gambler left with their fortune intact.

With a knowing smile, Niu Li turned to Miss Long and murmured, "Sister, let's up the ante next round, shall we?"

Miss Long's eyes narrowed as she regarded Niu Li with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
