C8 Wang Ying Was Humiliated

Yang Min dropped off Ye Fann and Xinying at the entrance of the neighborhood and immediately instructed the driver to head to the Huang residence in the city center. The eldest granddaughter of the Huang family, Xiaoshan, had just returned from a mysterious military training, and a grand banquet was being held by the family patriarch, inviting prominent figures from all around. Yang Min was among the invitees.

Unexpectedly, the invitation was nowhere to be found.

The entrance was heavily guarded, with security stationed every few steps. Without an invitation, entry was strictly prohibited. As Yang Min grew anxious, she suddenly noticed that troublemaker Ye Fann stepping out of a taxi. What was he doing here?

Wang Ying, full of bravado, dragged Ye Fann toward the entrance, only to be stopped by the guards. She shouted, "What do you think you're doing? Do you know who I am? Open your eyes and take a good look!"

The guards were taken aback. Who was this person with such an attitude? The head of security frowned and stepped forward, "I don't care who you are. The patriarch's orders are clear: no invitation, no entry, not even for the king himself!"

Wang Ying's face turned a deep shade of red, her teeth nearly grinding to dust. Was she really not going to get past the front door?

The air was tense and silent until Ye Fann suddenly pulled out an elegant invitation. "Is this what you're looking for?" he asked.

The head of security was momentarily stunned, taking the invitation and examining it closely. He looked at Ye Fann with suspicion. "Are you... Ms. Yang Min?"

"Family members aren't allowed in?" Ye Fann countered.

"Family member?" The head of security eyed Wang Ying, standing nearby. "So, are you Ms. Yang Min?"

The head of security was puzzled. Shouldn't someone of her age be referred to as Mrs. Yang Min? Why Ms.?

Just then, the real Yang Min approached from behind, naturally linking arms with Ye Fann. "I'm Yang Min, and this is my husband. I took a call and asked them to come in with the invitation. Is that a problem?"

"No... no problem." Still doubtful, the head of security signaled his team to verify Yang Min's photo.

Soon, the confirmation came back—it was indeed Yang Min.

"Apologies, please go in!" the head of security said, stepping aside.

"Thank you." Yang Min, holding Ye Fann's arm, started walking in but paused, turning back to address Wang Ying, who stood there fuming. "Are you coming in with us to broaden your horizons, or are you heading back to cook your own dinner?"

"Wow, turns out she's just a housekeeper. I thought she was someone important with that attitude," one of the security guards muttered under his breath.

"Mind your own business!" Wang Ying shouted at the guard, storming past Ye Fann and Yang Min into the venue.

The security team and their colleagues were left speechless.

Yang Min chuckled and shook her head. "Some people just don't know their place."

"Stealing my invitation, have you no shame?" As they walked toward the villa area, Yang Min looked straight ahead, her tone calm.

Ye Fann glanced at Yang Min's hand still hooked around his arm. "I just picked up your invitation by chance. You're the one holding onto me. Can you let go now?"

Yang Min frowned, biting her lip. "Do you feel taken advantage of?"

"I'm on equal footing with your family head. If you keep this up, I'll have to call him 'Uncle' later. Isn't that a bit much?"

"You..." Yang Min paused, her anger dissipating as she turned to stare into Ye Fann's eyes. "Who are you, really? How do you know the head of my family, and on equal terms?"

Ahead, Wang Ying turned back toward them.

She stormed over, angrily pulling Yang Min's hand off Ye Fann's arm. "Show some respect, you tramp! Stop flirting with men in broad daylight like some desperate woman!"

Desperate woman? Yang Min was taken aback for a moment, then smirked coldly. She suddenly raised her hand and slapped Wang Ying across the face.

Wang Ying was stunned.

Huang Shihao, standing nearby, and Ye Fann were also taken aback.

Yang Min pulled Ye Fann closer again, linking her arm with his. "A desperate woman unwanted? Do you even know what's going on, you wrinkled old hag?"

The old woman, her face lined with wrinkles, was about to lose it again. And just to make things worse, someone added fuel to the fire: "You've been sleeping in separate rooms from your husband for decades, right? Acting all young and nosy, thinking you've got a bunch of men backing you up? What a joke! Get lost—"

For some reason, when Yang Min had been berating Xinying earlier, Ye Fann had immediately stepped in. But now, he didn't feel like getting involved at all. Maybe it was the blazing sun and the sweltering heat? Ye Fann glanced up at the sky. Yeah, it was definitely hot.

"I'm gonna take you down, you witch!" Wang Ying suddenly screamed, charging at Yang Min like a madwoman.

Nearby, Yang Min's driver stepped forward to block Wang Ying, even raising a fist to strike her. Finally, Ye Fann intervened, grabbing the driver's fist and saying coldly, "Enough."

It was as if he was speaking to both the driver and Wang Ying. Wang Ying certainly got the message and immediately shouted at Ye Fann, "What are you doing, betraying your own? What do you mean, enough? Didn't you hear what this witch—"

A sharp slap echoed as Yang Min struck Wang Ying across the face again. Ye Fann frowned and looked at Yang Min, who nonchalantly dusted off her hands. "Enough," she said, "I can't be bothered with an old woman like you."

After speaking, Yang Min left with the driver in tow.

Slap—

Wang Ying suddenly slapped Ye Fann. "Get out of here, you worthless thing! That sly fox is gone, so go after her! Why are you still hanging around our house?"

"Useless!"

"Traitor!"

Wang Ying kept ranting, not calming down for a long time.

Nearby, passersby couldn't help but notice. A young woman approached and said calmly, "Aunt, you really should work on that temper. If Grandpa sees you like this, you'll get in trouble again, just like last time."

Before Wang Ying could respond, Shihao's eyes lit up. "Is that you, Xiaoshan?"

The young woman smiled, her eyes clear as she looked at Shihao. "Uncle, I've been standing here for a while, and you just noticed me?"

"I... I was just..." Shihao was so excited he could barely speak.

It had been years, and the little girl he once knew had grown into a graceful young woman.

"Hey, where's Ye Fann?" Xiaoshan suddenly frowned.

Ye Fann, who had been there just a moment ago, had vanished in the blink of an eye.

"Why worry about that loser? It's better if he stays away and out of sight," Wang Ying snapped, still fuming.

Shihao, however, sensed something was off. "Xiaoshan, do you know Ye Fann?"

Ye Fann married Xinying a year ago, and they hadn't seen Xiaoshan for at least four years. Logically, Xiaoshan shouldn't know Ye Fann, let alone be able to say his name right off the bat.

To everyone's surprise, Xiaoshan gave a mysterious smile, glanced around searching for Ye Fann, and softly said, "Oh, I know him. I've known him for many, many, many years."
