C5 The Air of Ice

Lin Lin was good at business. She often brought milk tea and desserts from her own store to the class, and despite the competition at school, she managed to sell quite a bit with her popularity.

"Let's go to the art club for the afternoon self-study class?" she suggested.

Su Qian didn't want to dampen her mood, so she agreed.

There were only two French classes on Thursday morning. After Su Qian took a nap, before two in the afternoon, Lin Lin happily dragged her into the art club.

It was a classroom more than ninety square feet in size, the walls of which were elaborately painted with ink and mountains and rivers. The students had chosen their favorite places, a wooden chair and an easel.

Su Qian glanced at the paintings of Lin Ling and the other students. They were probably doing the same homework, and all of them were portraits of Beethoven. They were all different, but all of them were remarkably true to life. Just as she thought she was amazed, another painting of rich colors unfolded from the hands of a senior sister. It was a magnificent European palace, and a group of maids was serving a princess.

"Everyone applauded Miss Avril's work and won a second prize in the Venus art contest."

That should be a senior who was a counselor in the Interest Club. As she proudly announced, the class gave a round of applause.

Su Qian turned around in surprise and saw An Wei'er who had attracted the attention of everyone. She was sitting in the last row with her legs crossed and was enjoying the crowd's praise.

"An Wei'er is also here?" At the end of the applause, Su Qian whispered to Lin Lin.

The other nodded as if it were a matter of course, and whispered back, "Of course, she's one of the best students in our society, and God bless her. Not only is she beautiful, but she's also versatile."

When she had finished listening, she stole a glance at the almost perfect face, and only when he noticed that she was being looked at coldly did she straighten up and lower her head, pretending to be working.

After the senior finished her introduction, she returned to her seat. Lin Lin, who was finishing the rest of her work, suddenly asked, "By the way, the Bowen family is having a birthday party this Saturday. Are you going?"

Su Qian looked troubled, "You know I'm not used to that kind of lively scene."

Lin Lin suddenly sighed with sadness in her eyes. "I would like to go, but my dad said business is hard these days and insisted I give him leaflets this weekend. If anyone can help me with this, I will kiss his ancestors on behalf of Jesus."

Su Qian looked at her disappointed expression and thought that Lin Lin had been taking care of her for the past two weeks. She didn't want to disappoint her.

"Go, I'll help you distribute the leaflets," Su Qian said.

Lin Lin suddenly raised her eyes, and her previously unhappy eyes suddenly lit up, "Really?!"

Su Qian smiled with her childish temper and replied, "Of course."

She immediately screamed in excitement. Ignoring the strange gazes from the other students, she gave Su Qian a bear hug.

"You are really loyal! Qian, don't worry. I will make my dad pay for your hard work. I won't let you work for nothing!"

"You always treat me to a meal, so it is my duty. If you pay me again, I will feel embarrassed. Alright, go back to your seat..." Su Qian looked around at the students in embarrassment. Suddenly shouting in the classroom caused a lot of complaints.

But Lin Lin didn't mind. She even raised her chin and scolded with a slightly playful voice, "Why are you all looking at me like that? Who doesn't have a baby?"

Su Qian almost laughed out loud. At the same time, she was envious that Lin Lin could always use a humorous way to easily handle all kinds of situations. This was something Su Qian couldn't do.

"Then it's a deal. Come to the store to find me on Saturday morning," she whispered.

Su Qian smiled and agreed.

It seemed that he could only ask the hotel for leave this weekend...

On the day of the handover, the sky was clear. Lin Lin handed a stack of brochures as tall as a bench to Su Qian. After scratching her head in embarrassment, she was considerate enough to point out a few areas with a denser crowd to Su Qian. Of course, she also taught Su Qian some places like sewers and garbage cans that could be used to destroy the "list." Su Qian smiled and passed by. After she finished, she couldn't wait to get into her friend's car and disappeared down the main road.

She looked back at the leaflets on the floor, which seemed to be jeering at Sue, and shrugged. She patiently unwrapped the first batch and distributed them along Central Street.

Most of the people she sent out were young, and women and couples were the focus of attention, and the effect grew as the afternoon wore on. Many of the girls who went shopping wanted a drink or two to keep their mouths busy, but there was so much business competition in the center that Papa Lin's milk tea shop could only get a share.

Time passed by as she handed out leaflets, and in the blink of an eye the sun was melting gold and gilding the tall buildings. Su looked at her watch and saw that it was almost six o'clock.

By the time the bags came out again, the night had swallowed up the sky like a silver moon hanging high in the sky, and the streets were lit up with neon lights. To save time, Su had chosen to cross the river road of the Golden Bay District and take the long bridge to the bus stop on the other side of the river.

The moonlight was melting, and as she walked along the quiet side of the river, carrying her food, she could feel the soft water of the river under her feet, close to the bright full moon, against the white glow of the streetlamps.

Clang! Clang!

There was a sudden, incongruous sound in the still night air, like the edge of a sword cutting through the air, and one of the cans rolled down the sloping road to her feet, spilling a bubbling liquid and filling the air with the rich smell of beer.

She looked up at the man leaning against the lamppost a short distance away, and turned away from him to the other side of the road. She was about to go around the drunkard, but before she could take two steps, she heard the man's muffled, clear, heavy groan.

Only then did she feel that something was wrong. She quickly turned around and ran to the man's side.

"Sir, how are you?" That person really did not smell of alcohol. Su Qian wanted to help him up, but when she saw his face clearly, she was slightly stunned, "Gao Ming?"

The man also recognized her. His pale face was filled with an unapproachable coldness. He pushed her hand away and struggled to stand up. He wanted to escape, but after taking two steps, he fell to the ground again.

"Urh!" He held the ground with one hand and the clothes on his chest with the other hand. He seemed to be in great pain. His whole body was shaking.

Su Qian had clearly noticed that something was wrong with him, and when she touched his hand just now, she felt an incomparable coldness!

"What's wrong with you?" Su Qian asked again. She wanted to help her classmate, but he didn't seem to appreciate her help.

"It's none of your business. Go away!" He struggled for a while on the spot and only squeezed out these cold words from his teeth.

Su Qian looked at him with incomprehension. Even at this moment, he was still arrogant and refused others' help?

"Uh..."

His toughness was immediately swallowed by the pain. His entire body fell backwards and hit the marble railing with a dull sound. Then he curled up on the ground and turned over and over. He was in so much pain that he wished he was dead!

Although he had been rude to her just now, she could not leave him to die. She lowered her eyes and thought for a moment.

Bright red blood instantly flowed out of the wound. She straightened Gao Ming's cold body and placed the bleeding wound on his pale lips.

"Drink it. I won't hurt you." Su Qian acted like she was comforting a frightened antelope, gentle and careful.

Gao Ming, who was lying in her arms, opened his weak eyes, or he was exhausted. In the end, he gave up resisting and slowly sucked her blood.

Fortunately, Su's shallow blood worked its magic again, and in a few minutes, Gao Ming's complexion improved a little, but the thin sweat soaked through his bangs, revealing only his tired eyes, which were empty and lifeless.

Su Qian helped him to lie on the guardrail. He asked, "Do you feel better now?"

He closed his eyes and nodded slightly. After taking a deep breath, he looked at Su Qian with a complicated expression, "It's you again."

Yes, it's me again. Su Qian also wanted to say, What a coincidence.

"I happened to pass by when I was shopping. I saw you faint here. There seems to be another power controlling you in your body." When Su Qian was feeding him blood just now, she felt that there was an unusual power in his body and it was obvious that he couldn't control that power nor could he coexist with it.

"It's the aura of ice." He said helplessly. His eyes were filled with boredom, but there was nothing he could do.

"The aura of ice!?" Su Qian was shocked. Icy qi was an extremely cold qi that had been fermenting for over a thousand years. It was usually only produced at the top of the higher snowy mountains. It was a natural body, but it had great destructive power. She had once heard her uncle Su Yan mention that this kind of strong qi was difficult to control even for a Rank 6 Spiritual Cultivator, not to mention that Gao Ming was only a university student in his twenties. How could he have icy qi in his body!?
