C1 Just Marry Me!
The story "A Wonderful Life in the Seventies" finally wrapped up, and the fate of that obnoxious, dim-witted, and toxic supporting character was revealed. She ended up marrying an old widower with a penchant for domestic violence and four kids. Her life was a constant struggle, leading to miscarriages and a terminal illness, ultimately dying alone and miserable.
Jiaojiao was so thrilled about the character's ending that she felt like running a couple of laps to celebrate. Honestly, sharing the same name with such a character made Jiaojiao wish for her quick demise. The character was all looks and no brains, always denying her wrongdoings even when caught red-handed, tarnishing the name Jiaojiao.
Overflowing with excitement, Jiaojiao penned a lengthy, enthusiastic review of four to five thousand words in the comments section. Three thousand words praised the poetic justice of the villain's demise, while the remaining two thousand lauded the main characters.
Her detailed review stirred up the comments section. Jiaojiao was too exhilarated to sleep, engaging in lively discussions with other commenters. She even boldly claimed, "If I were Jiaojiao, I'd make the best of life even with an abusive husband, and let him and his four brats eat dirt!"
Just as she hit send and stretched, she accidentally knocked over the soda bottle beside her.
Just as Jiaojiao twisted open the cap, the soda spilled all over her laptop keyboard.
"Oh no."
Watching the computer start to smoke, Jiaojiao forgot all about unplugging it. She reached out to grab the laptop, hoping to pour off the soda.
The moment her fingers touched the computer, a sharp jolt shot up to her head, and she couldn't help but shiver as everything went dark.
When Jiaojiao saw light again, she heard a middle-aged woman sobbing nearby.
Struggling to open her eyes, she was met with the large, orange-peel-like face of the woman right in front of her.
The woman beamed with relief, "Jiaojiao, you're finally awake! You can't keep being so reckless."
"Look at your situation now. Your reputation is gone. No decent family will want you."
"Out of all the nearby towns, only Mr. Zhao is willing to marry you."
"Sure, he's a bit older, but older men know how to treat a woman right. If you treat him well, he won't hurt you."
"Be sensible, just marry him. Otherwise, you'll be an old maid, and no one will want you."
"Think of your sister, at least. If you don't get married, what will people say about her in the future?"
"Jiaojiao? Jiaojiao? What's wrong, Jiaojiao? Honey, hurry and call the doctor! Our Jiaojiao has fainted again!"
Yes, she was Jiaojiao, but who was this woman? And what was all this about marriage? Reputation? Innocence? And who was this Zhao? What on earth was going on?
Maybe it was because the woman was talking too much, but as soon as Yuh Jiaojiao opened her eyes and glanced at the woman, she fainted again. Before passing out, all she heard was chaos.
When she woke up again, it was already midnight. There was no one around. A chair was placed by the bed with a bowl of water on it. If it weren't for the moonlight reflecting off the water, she wouldn't have even noticed it.
Yuh Jiaojiao drank the water in one go, looking around the dimly lit room with just a small window, feeling utterly helpless.
What a mess.
All she did was criticize that character in the story who happened to have the same name as her, just because she was so stupid and malicious. Why did that mean she had to end up here?
