C2 I Am Very Very Very Very Very Very Good!

Wearing it is one thing, but if she had arrived a bit earlier, at least she could have befriended the heroine and had some support. But being thrust into a situation where she's forced to marry an abusive man? What kind of cruel joke is this?

Are they trying to drive her to despair? No way, she can't just sit around and wait for doom to strike.

With this thought, Jiaojiao immediately got out of bed, not bothering to pack her things, and went to open the door. But when she pulled, it didn't budge. After checking again, she realized it was locked from the outside.

She then looked at the window. It wasn't small, but the paper covering it was tattered, and more importantly, there were wooden planks nailed across it. The moonlight barely illuminated the room, only hitting the water bowl at just the right angle.

Looking up at the ceiling, it was pitch black, impossible to see anything, let alone remove it to escape. She didn't have Spider-Man's skills, after all.

Alright, the Yuh family really went all out to prevent Jiaojiao from escaping. They weren't leaving her any chance at all.

In despair, Jiaojiao threw herself onto the bed. Oh my God, is she really destined to follow the tragic path of the villainous side character?

Thinking about the series of foolish actions and the miserable end the villainous character faced, Jiaojiao felt an urge to see if ending it all might send her back. But taking that step wasn’t easy. Even by the next morning, she still hadn’t decided whether to go through with it or how.

After a sleepless night that left her with dark circles under her eyes, Jiaojiao decided to accept her fate for now. These days, everyone seems to be getting married with just a certificate. As long as she doesn't sign one, she can always find a way to escape with a simple introduction letter. No big deal.

Like she mentioned in her comments, even if the path is full of thorns, she can still forge her own way.

In rural areas, second marriages usually aren't celebrated with much fanfare. Regardless of the reason, people tend to think a second marriage is embarrassing. Even though this is Jiaojiao's first marriage, her previous antics have already brought enough shame to the whole village. Besides, weddings are typically the groom's responsibility. If he values the bride, even a third or fourth marriage would be celebrated grandly. If not, just bringing her home and bowing to the elders would seal the deal.

Moreover, people nowadays don't place as much importance on weddings as they might in the future.

While Jiaojiao was still contemplating what benefits she might gain from agreeing to the marriage, Pengcheng arrived. He came alone on a bicycle, which actually relieved the Yuh family. Especially Yuh's mother, who warmly invited him inside, "You came so early! Have you eaten? Are you hungry? Come have a bite."

Pengcheng was a bit overwhelmed by her enthusiasm. "No, no, I really need to get back. The kids are still young."

As soon as her child was mentioned, Yuh's mother's enthusiasm waned a bit, and she pretended it was nothing: "I'll go call Jiaojiao."

Yuh's mother picked up the keys to unlock Jiaojiao's door.

Yuh's father looked at his future son-in-law and tapped his pipe against his shoe: "You, well, just be patient with her."

"Jiaojiao isn't a bad person, she's just a bit naive and easily influenced. We've spoiled her, and she's a bit stubborn, but she's much better now. If she doesn't behave, you can discipline her—just don't go too far."

As for Jiaojiao's brothers and sisters-in-law, they didn't want to deal with her antics, so they took the kids and left early in the morning.

Yuh's mother had just cracked the door open when she saw Jiaojiao standing there. She thought her disobedient daughter was trying to run away again and quickly moved to close the door: "Jiaojiao, don't you dare..."

But Jiaojiao shouted, "Don't close it!"

She leaned against the doorframe, peering outside, her face suddenly flushed with a rosy hue, eyes sparkling: "Is that Mr. Zhao? The one willing to marry me?"

If Mr. Zhao looks like that, then I'm all in, absolutely all in.
