It's one of those novels propelled solely by forced drama.

Everywhere the mc goes, there will be a cringey conflict. Be it the bank, hospital, restaurant, driving, home, bathroom, etc. A hundred chapters, and about 90 of them are just about silly forced drama. Only about 10 chapters of actual story.

The wife is a hollowed out, one dimensional character. No matter what the mc does, she’ll always attribute it to someone else. It’s like the generic motherinlaw of a son-in-law novel.
