C0 Prologue: Sophia Ark

I am Sophia Ark, twenty-three years old, living an ordinary life as a college student that profoundly likes reading romance fiction novels.

[Beatrice's Love] is a popular novel with adolescent adults. The story is about a young lady named Beatrice, and three men who will fight for her love and devotion. Some audiences are obsessed with the flow of the story, especially when it comes to the growth of heroine.

'My perspective is divergent from theirs. I feel pity for the death of villainess Elizabeth White.'

Elizabeth died at the very hands of the man she loved. The even more exasperating part was that her father doesn't seem to care about it. Duke White considered Elizabeth as a disgrace to the entire family. Melrose, the lady-in-waiting who attended to her for years became her only ally that comprehended her sentiments. She even accompanied Elizabeth to its end.

In Sophia's viewpoint, it was Lawrence's fallacy why Elizabeth tormented Beatrice. Elizabeth became a tyrant because of the grief and woebegoneness he caused. But no one queried him because he is the Crown Prince of the Asterin Empire. To them, it is typical for a Prince to be attracted to someone else. No one dares to discriminate against his actions because everyone descried that the relationship between him and Elizabeth is solely one-sided.

"Okay, class dismissed," the Professor informed the students.

The school bell rings, it is the signal of today's classes ended. Sophia organized her things on the table to put them into her bag.

"Hey, the final chapter of Beatrice's Love has been published." One of the classmates notified her friend while optically browsing her phone. The friend moved in her direction to peek at it.

"Eh? Too bad I do not have my pocket wifi with me. I will read it at home," she commented after catching a glimpse of it.

"Would you like me to divulge to you the plot of this chapter?" she asked to ridicule her. She even visually examines her preposterously. Her friend seemed to agnize expeditiously what she's scheming.

'Even I was solicitous about its intention to reveal the content of the finale of the story. I abhor heedfully aurally perceiving spoilers, It relinquishes my exhilaration.'

"No! Don't you ever dare," she answered back while covering her ears.

"Hahahahaha!" Everyone glances in their direction because she is boisterous. The friend visually examines her with disconcertment. She immediately put the bag over her right shoulder to prepared herself to depart.

"Hey, wait for me," she said before pursued her friend so that they can walk together on their way home.

Sophia heaves a sigh. Thankfully, that classmate didn't declare the plot of the last chapter.

When others discovered news regarding the story update, they immediately took their gadgets. Even at their university, Beatrice's Love is famous. Some non-readers learned to be enticed by the story. With the novel so remarkable, it is hoped to be shown on television to be made into drama series.

Even if the story is uploaded online—the books were perpetually sold out in many bookstores. Fan clubs have been composed for male leads such as Lawrence William the Crown Prince, Killian Shou Adir the Great Magician, and Francisco William the Imperial Knights' commander-in-chief.

The most final boss is Killian, but even if he is the main antagonist of the story, he has more fans than the other male leads.

"Miss, I need to reload my sim with internet for a week," Sophia said to the saleswoman who is currently occupied on her cellphone.

"The final chapter of Beatrice's Love has been posted," she notified her.

"I know, that's the reason I am here. I can't browse the reading app without an internet connection."

The saleswoman comes forward to prepare Sophia's desiderata, but her pace is taking gradual, her attention isn't focused on work. She is taking glimpses of her phone to read the novel.

"Beatrice is fortunate, isn't it? She has three guys chasing after her to win her affection," she said. Sophia can tell in her expressions the daydreaming to have the life of Beatrice.

She frowned at her statement. "I don't like her. Elizabeth is way better than her."

The woman tilted her head. "Why is that?" she asked her with curiosity.

"Beatrice often acts without thinking, and I don't comprehend her for being too irreprehensible. She even doesn't notice those people who are aggrieved because of her recklessness."

The three men are very protective when it comes to Beatrice. Some side characters lost their lives due to misunderstandings. Particularly that Killian's possessiveness to her. Nothing good transpires to those he jealous of. If anyone approaches Beatrice then he visually perceives her smile at them, that person will be in peril.

"But Elizabeth endeavored to poison her," she answered back to her reasoning.

"It's her fault. Beatrice snatched Elizabeth's fiancé. Who wouldn't be non-compos mentis for that?" Sophia expressed the fact.

She seemed to understand her persuasive relevancy right away. "You're right," she said.

Sophia looked through her phone when she felt it vibrating. She received a message from the network—the sim card has been reloaded.

"Thank you," she said to the saleswoman afore leaving the store.

Sophia is now on her way home, but tonight she has to go to work. She is working part-time in a fast-food chain, that opens twenty-four hours.

'I put my earphones on then played the music loud. This is my way of entering my world.'

She browses her phone to open the app that utilizes for reading novels, then selected Beatrice's Love. While on the road and skimming the component where the two protagonists are preparing to get married. Sophia descried a glimmer of light approaching her. She removed the earphone in her right ear, then looked in the direction of the light.

Sophia heard a deafening sound of a horn, and a loud bang on her body startled hers. She didn't feel any pain, probably because her whole body is becoming numb.

While lying on the ground, she was able to see what ran into her from afar.

"Aaaaaah!" Screams from people who witnessed the incident.

"Call an ambulance right away!" The old woman approached the students holding their cell phones. They are taking a video of the incident.

"The truck driver is dead," said the man who checked the driver's pulse.

'As my vision became blurry, I could still discern the expressions of the people looking at me. They all felt sorry for my situation. I did not expect that I would die this way.'

In a few moments, she was thoroughly engulfed in tenebrosity.

'I don't ken what's going on, I can hear loud noises near me. How long have I been unconscious?'

Sophia could not move her body but was able to open her eyes to scan the area—to check the unfamiliar environment—everything in there is luxurious and valuable. Feels like she's in the place of opulent people.

'Is this how the heavens look like?'

"Milady!" She glanced at the woman wearing a maid uniform. The lady was crying while holding her hand. She frowned at her reaction, as it seemed it is delectated to see Sophia.

'For what reason? I don't even know her.'

"Who are you?" She asked her.

The lady covered her mouth because of surprise. Tears flowed even more from her eyes. The door's room opened then the other two people came in. A well-dressed man approached Sophia rapidly to check her pulse.

"Her condition is back to normal. This is a miracle," the doctor notified the man standing beside him.

"Good," he replied.

'Do angels look akin to this one?'

Sophia's eyes seemed to be pounding as she consistently visually examined him. She couldn't avail but feel admiration for his handsomeness.

"Milord, I suspect that young lady has lost her recollections," the maid apprised them with woebegoneness.

The man frowned then examined her earnestly. She also does the same to him.

"Do you still remember who you are?" the doctor asked.

"Yes, I do. I am—ah!" She could not finish her sentence due to sudden pain in her head.

One image after another popped up in her mind—memories she can't recollect transpiring in her entire life. It's like she is watching other people's life experiences.

Sophia's eyes widened after realizing what was currently happening. Though still weak she pushes herself to walk towards the mirror. Her body is trembling as she examining the reflection of her face that she did not own.

'What am I doing in the world of the story I last read? Will I suffer the fate of Elizabeth White as well? I just died recently, am I going to die again?'
