C1 Living as Elizabeth

It seems it was just recently that Sophia is still living an ordinary life: Holding her phone while reading novels that are downloaded to documents, sometimes she checks her social media accounts, she often watches a movie on Netflix, but now...

"Aaaah!" She screams.

'Why do technologies haven't been upgraded in this era?'

"Lady Elizabeth, what's the matter?" Melrose hurried into her room. She is the lone lady-in-waiting of the previous Elizabeth. In the story, she was the one who stayed by Elizabeth's side until her death.

Melrose Homes, nineteen years old, second daughter of Count Homes. She has brown hair, the color of her eyes is green, she has a small face and it is an oval shape. A simple type of lady—she doesn’t put cosmetics on her face.

The lady is wearing a formal uniform appropriate for her position. She is no longer looked like one of the maids of the mansion, unlike when Sophia first saw her.

Elizabeth White is known for being obsessed with the Crown Prince. Anyone who intends to flirt with him will be mortified by hers. The same will goes to occur to those women she notices near his location—she doesn't care whether they are nobles or not. She even precluded the maids here to look themselves nice. Those who do not abide by her rule will suffer severe punishments. She is behaving this way because she speculates that every woman here in Empire wants to take Lawrence away from her.

'She is so paranoid! I am sickened at the abashments she's been committing these past few years— but I can’t blame her either. I do sympathize with Elizabeth but I never wished to be her!'

"Lady Elizabeth, it's noon and yet you're still in your pajamas," Melrose reminded her hesitantly. She is trembling with fear that her master might inflict on her the pain she had suffered at the hands of the former Elizabeth.

Sophia arranged herself to sit in a comfortable position. Melrose was surprised to see her actions became unladylike.

'Unfortunately, I am not Elizabeth...I'm Sophia!'

“Life here is so boring,” Sophia remarked slothfully.

"Would you like to assemble a tea party?" Melrose suggested.

She groaned. "I don't wanna."

'I will not waste my time debating with prominent women of the Asterin Empire. If I recall correctly, they did nothing but chatter and gasconade about their embroidery aptitudes. They love competing with one another in concerns of being the most ideal wife.'

"Then, I will fetch your refreshments to the kitchen, milady," she said while bending in front of her at forty-five degrees of angle—causes Sophia to feel uneasy.

"You don't have to be too formal, Melrose. We're friends, aren't we?" She intended for making her feel lightened up.

Sophia noticed her skepticism, not knowing if the lady would follow her wishes or the rules of social status.

She sighed. "I don't bite, Melrose."

"Yes?" She tilted her head, she probably doesn’t get what her master meant to say.

"Nevermind. Just go and get my snacks." Sophia restraint herself so she wouldn't get exasperated with her.

"Okay, milady. I'll be back immediately." She bowed first before leaving the room.

'It's been a week since Elizabeth's life became mine. My condition has returned to normal. This body is very impuissant, I could tell she is not into physical activities. It is understandable, as a noble lady she requires to follow the etiquettes.'

One of Elizabeth’s hobbies is to keep up with fashion. She owned a plethora of jewelry as well as dresses and gowns. She has an amassment of branded heels and bags. It was all arranged in the large room located right inside her bedroom.

Sophia is satisfied for her second life has become—she's no longer experiencing financial problems.

"Now that I am living as Elizabeth, I must relish my life," she said.

But before she can achieve her goal, she needs to distance herself first from Elizabeth's fate of death.

'I have no plans to follow the original plot of the novel. If I die here, pretty sure I'll arouse next in front of Saint San Pedro. I can't go back to my old life, my body already dies there.'

According to Melrose, Elizabeth poisoned herself because of being dejected over the dating rumor of Lawrence and Beatrice.

'But I don't recall there occurs a scene where Elizabeth poisoned herself in the story plot of Beatrice's Love.'

Elizabeth's body is lifeless for one month and days. She wasn’t buried right away. She hasn't been buried yet but they are done preparing for the funeral ceremony. No one can explicate why her body does not decompose. This is one of the reasons, Duke White could not concede to her death.

Sophia speculating the reason she transmigrated—to play the role of a villainess—to get the story right back on track. If that’s the purpose, there is a tendency that she can not escape Elizabeth’s fate of dying in the middle part of the novel.

She sat down in front of the vanity table to stare at herself in the mirror. Elizabeth is beautiful. She has salubrious ebony hair, purple eyes in upturned shape, her smooth skin is fair, her thin lips are pinkish, she has long and thick eyelashes, and refined eyebrows.

'She looks like an international celebrity in the modern era. Why she has to be crazy over an unworthy man?'

Sophia took a notebook and a pen inside the drawer. She is frustrated because quill is using as a pen in the world's era. When it comes to those things, she misses being in the 21st-century. Living there becomes easier because of the help of modern technologies.

'Let's commence by recapitulating the original plot of the story.'

[Beatrice's Love] is a reverse harem genre. There were three male leads: the Crown Prince, Lawrence William; the Greatest Magician, Killian Shou Adir; and the Imperial Knights' commander-in-chief, Francisco White.

The one who will bestow the royal command to Elizabeth's public execution, Lawrence William, the protagonist and husband-to-be of Beatrice. He has blonde hair, mesmerizing blue eyes, a sharp nose, and pinkish lips. He is one of the top handsome guys living in the Empire. The only child of the Emperor and the Empress. He was instantly nominated as the Crown Prince since there is no other competitor for the throne.

The Dukedom of White—the second most powerful noble of Empire—their territory existed before the royal family was established in the country. Consequently, the political arrangement between the White Dukedom and the Imperial Palace is understandable for all aristocrats. They concluded to marry Elizabeth and Lawrence when the right time comes. This is the connection that strengthened the two parties.

Since then, Elizabeth's engraved to her mind that she is the only one who has the right to be with the Crown Prince. She became smitten with that thought.

Elizabeth's being a martyr for years is impressive. Even though she knows the fact that Lawrence won't love her no matter what she does, she still exerted too much effort for him. For her, being with him is already enough. That's what she thought until Beatrice came into the picture.

"I don't understand this girl, Beatrice. She knew that Lawrence is Elizabeth's fiancé, yet she still approaching him," she mumbled then heavily sighed.

'I have to lose my connection with this man. Let's go for the operation: cancel the engagement.'

She circled the first way to elude her future death. Even though she has no intention of poisoning Beatrice like in the original plot, she can't change the malevolent deeds Elizabeth's done to other people. Sophia is sure that several nobles are harboring execration to her now.

'This is horrendous, I do not wish to die again!'

Sophia concluded that there is no reason to continue her engagement with the Crown Prince. After all, the news about Lawrence and Beatrice's secret relationship is already circulating among aristocrats.

'That is a valid justification, isn't it? It is time for me to regain Elizabeth's reputation.'

"Lady Elizabeth." Melrose arrived just in time, pushing the tray with desserts and tea on top.

"Melrose, please take care of me. I need to visit the Duke in his office," Sophia said.

She was stunned for a moment. "Okay, Lady Elizabeth," she said.

Melrose directly asked for other servants' help, to prepare everything for fixing her lady's appearance.
